Hibiscus Resort and Spa Port Douglas

Had a lovely time spending 7 days here. Angelique was an absolute star! She had noted my birthday had been the day before checkin and we had a lovely note and a bottle of bubbles waiting in our room for us. Our room was at the back of the venue and a tiny bit in need of a refresh, but was still a lovely room to stay in with a small outdoor balcony to relax in. The motel is ideally situated with everything within walking distance.

Always wanted to stay here at Hibiscus resort & so glad we did. Beautiful & clean, spacey apartment and Angelique in reception was so friendly & welcoming. Very private rooms & the pool has a beautiful tropical feel to it. Close walking distance to beach & town to just be able to ealk around. We will definitely will stay again. Our favourite place so far in Port Douglas 😍

Our apartment was spacious and comfortable and the location was ideal, it had everything we needed for a very comfortable 7 night stay, it contained all the basic estentials including but not limited to AC, ceiling fans, a good bed, great bathroom and shower, TV, fridge, freezer, microwave, toaster, cutlery, plates, glasses, tea and coffee making facilities, wardrobe storage and bucket and spade. Outside we had a table and chairs on our balcony above the pool. The apartment had great wifi, shared paid washing and drying facilities and under cover parking. The layout of the apartments in this complex allows for an open privacy which we enjoyed. Thanks for having us.

This is a review of behalf of my mother in law who stayed at the apartments last week. Her apartment was on the second floor and the complex didn’t have a lift or ramp so I had to carry her suitcase up two large flights of stairs. This wasn’t notified to us when booking her apartment so it was a surprise. Fortunately I was there to carry it up otherwise a 75 year old would have had to lug her suitcase up. There are lots of stairs in these apartments so I wouldn’t recommend it for anyone with accessibility issues. The second pool was also being refurbished the entire week which was noisy. Also not notified to us. Otherwise the location was good, the apartments could do with an uplift as they were an older style with worn kitchens and flooring. Nice pool area out the front but very deep so not suitable for non swimmers or children.

Our experience was not a good one. When we first arrived we were told our room had a leak and we were put in a smaller studio room that overlooked the car park. Two days later after complaining we were finally moved to a two bedroom apartment. We had initially booked a 1 bedroom apartment. We were told to try not to use the whole of the apartment!! Our accomodation was booked through luxury escapes and the Manager at Hibiscus Matt kept asking us if we had received a call from them. This had nothing to do with luxury escapes it was down to bad management of the resort, not very good customer service and we believe they had double booked our room. Matt the Manager originally said he could give us vouchers as compensation but all we wanted was the room we had booked and we felt we were being lied to.The pool was cloudy and the other pool could not be used due to construction in that area. The apartment we were moved to was nice but we lost three days of our holiday staying in a tiny room overlooking the car park!! (We were only in Port Douglas for 5 nights) The resort is situated on two busy roads and is very busy day and night. We would not stay at this resort again and would not recommend it.

Angelique is amazing!! I keep coming back to this gorgeous resort and Angelique’s care of customers is second to none. I love her friendly and warm welcome, each time I visit. The resort is in a perfect location, with two fabulous pools. Mitch, the manager is also fantastic at helping you with any of your holiday needs! Highly recommend.

I don’t have anything bad to say about Hibiscus! I was looking for accommodation that was a reasonable price but still felt luxurious and this was perfect. I could’ve spent many more days here relaxing by the pool. The room was clean, kitted out with everything I needed, the pool areas were beautiful and the location was ideal for getting to shops, beach or harbour. I liked that the rooms were self contained rather than having to go through a hotel reception, made the whole thing feel really chilled. I was here alone and felt totally safe. Will come back!

Spotless convenient and well appointed. Close to the town centre nice pool and ours had everything we needed. Owner Peter was helpful and provided clear directions. Second time here and will come back. Loved it All the resort is well maintained pool cleaned every day and garden well maintained
