My friend raved about this place, and mentioned it was going to close soon, so we tried it out. Had a super cozy atmosphere and nice portions (not too big or small). Got the chicken tenders, fries, and a side salad. Super yummy moist chicken.

You walk through the door and you are welcomed by the smell of hickory. Great place for date night, big groups or just a drink at the bar. The service was wonderful and the atmosphere was high ceilings with a rustic industrial feel. The burger was cooked perfectly and the steak tacos were delicious. But the piece de resistance was the carrot cake. It's big enough to feed a table of four but light enough to not overwhelm you Highly recommend this family owned non-franchise restaurant!

Easy access off of I-24 with plenty of parking. A warm, friendly greeting at the door. A big open feeling to the space. A very nice long bar with friendly, knowledgeable staff. I had a delicious French onion burger cooked perfectly medium. Do not miss the scrumptious and wildly popular carrot cake. Bathrooms are very clean and well kept. I will certainly be back to Hickory Falls! You and your family and friends will love this restaurant! 🌟 🌟🌟🌟😍

We decided to stop in on our way through. Hickory Falls did not disappoint. In fact, the rib eye was one of the best I can say I have had in a long time. It was perfectly smoked, seasoned and so very tender! My husband had the bacon wrapped scallops and fish . I had the steak and potatoes. Our food was all perfect. Service was also top notch!

1st time, won't go back. Overcooked flavorless salmon and grocery store sides with canned yams in heavy syrup and stofers Mac n cheese. I have wanted to try this place forever but wasn't my jam. Great service, environment and good bread and butter.

Wow! First of all I was honored to have met Paul (the owner) and Brenda (my wonderful waitress with me on the picture). What a fantastic experience! Paul has accomplished that home feel when you come and have a meal at this place! It’s amazing, the ambience, staff, it’s simply great!!! He has loyal staff that have been with him for over 20+ years. That smokey smell when you come in activates your taste buds!!! The place is huge and can accommodate large groups! The wonderful girls at the main dining area will take care of you! On my way out, I passed by the bar area, also a big area and plenty of seating. Now to the food… started off with a Cab (Mondavi), Brenda brought me some super soft breads with butter and for the record, I said it… better than Texas Road House bread! I ordered a Filet Mignon, medium with Sweet Potato Mash (place is known for this side), some green beans. Food was excellent! Then it got better, Paul asked me if I liked carrot cake… Of course I do! Brenda brought me a piece of this cake and let me tell you!!! That was the icing on the cake with the full experience! Cake was so rich in flavor and flat out delicious! Say no more, cake leftovers are coming with me! Paul, thank you for your kind hospitality!!! This is a Valdi approved joint!!!

We stopped by this American "Hickory Falls" Restaurant in Tennessee on our road trip from Iowa to Florida, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our journey. The restaurant had a welcoming ambiance cozy yet lively with a warm, rustic interior that made us feel instantly comfortable. The location was easy to find, and there's ample parking space, which was definitely a plus after a long drive. We ordered the Rattlesnake Chicken Pasta served with herb garlic bread, and the Maui Chicken with grilled asparagus. Both dishes were absolutely delicious! The Rattlesnake Pasta had the perfect balance of spice and creaminess, and the garlic bread was fresh, buttery, and flavorful. The Maui Chicken was tender, beautifully grilled, and paired wonderfully with the asparagus, which was cooked just right crisp yet tender. For drinks, I tried their signature “Falls” Margarita and my wife had Pomegranatini from their special cocktail list. Both were exceptionally well made , the margarita was refreshing with just the right kick, and the pomegranatini was smooth, slightly sweet, and incredibly well-balanced. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made sure we were comfortable throughout our meal. Service was quick, and everything from presentation to portion size was on point. Overall, Hickory Falls offered an excellent dining experience. Great food, well-crafted drinks, a pleasant atmosphere, and courteous service definitely a place we’d recommend to anyone passing through the area or looking for a solid meal in Tennessee. Would love to stop by again on our next road trip.

We visited based on google review, and it didn't disappoint. A clean, quiet restaurant just off the freeway. We were seated immediately we arrived. The service was quick, the food was tasty, and their environment was serene.

This food is amazing!! Great ambiance, and you smell the hickory as soon as you walk in. This was truly one of the most flavorful and juiciest ribeyes I have had. The mashed sweet potatoes are OH-Mazing, THE ROLLS!!!!!! OMG!! Our server Cindy was phenomenal! She was attentive and a sweetheart!

Spinach dip chips was ok just taste like leafs and cheese Chips was super thick like ritz chip didn't taste good I order fillet mignon steak, baked potato, and rice Rice has a weird taste when you first bite into it Steak almost reminds me of a hamburger Baked potato I like the most I'd prolly recommend the salmon if you go Lemon pepper salmon was good

Another great restaurant experience as an out of towner. Spot was picked due to proximity of my hotel and co-workers recommendation. Service was amazing from the moment we walked in the door starting with the hostess. Our server was super accommodating and always checking on us. The food was solid and tasty. A quality comfort food meal that was also very reasonable on the wallet. I will be back.

The service and ambiance were great! What's better was the food! Alfredo sauce was seemed to have been made from scratch and had a savory buttery taste. The French Dip was amazing. The bread, prime rib, cheese, and grilled onions came together perfectly.

Our sweet and friendly server was very quickly at our table to get our drink order. We looked over the menu a few minutes as they have quite the selection of entrees. We ordered and our food looked very scrumptious when it was brought to the table. We did have a few issues however, actually questions mostly. Number 1, the overeats air ducts cooled off our food very quickly. Number 2, what is the deal with baked potatoes? They aren't available until after 4pm. I know for a fact you can cook a baked potato anytime of the day...the potato doesn't care. Number 3, I looked above my head just over our booth and the pendant light had quite a few cobwebs coating it. Overall, it w as a great meal and loved the inside decor and the service. I recommend for a special occasion.

I visited Hickory Falls with a colleague when searching for a good place for lunch on our way from Murphreesboro to the airport. This location was perfect. We were immediately seated and waited on by Chandler who did a great job. My colleague ordered the Hickory Falls Rotisserie Chicken Salad which she said was excellent, and couldn't finish. I ordered the Reuben which actually had a couple of pretty thick slices of corned beef. It wasn't packed to the ceiling like a Carnegie Deli, but was good enough for a decent lunch.

Excellent food,Atmosphere and service. Its so sad that it's closing!!! I wish a great restaurant would continue the restaurant and keep it open! The building is phenomenal, architecture is outstanding. Since the public is aware of its closing, it is packed day and night. We don't want it to leave.

Very cool looking place inside. I stopped here with several colleagues during a work trip. Our server was friendly, but she wasn't around very much! Overall, the food was decent, but prepare yourself for smoke. I had the sirloin which was OK; there was a large piece of gristle in the steak and it was a total smoke bomb. I knew they were wood fired, but the smoke was really overpowering. The loaded baked potato I had was quite good. The others at the table that got the steak had the same reaction to the smoke; a little is good, but this was a whole bunch of smoke.

Great food and a warm cozy atmosphere! We stopped in while we were in the area and the food and service was amazing! The flavor of this food was so delicious with the open fire flame grill they have. We had steaks and all were tender. Just try it. You'll like it.

Blue cheese crusted ribeye was superb! I highly recommend it. Waitress was sweet, informative, and attentive. It was a quiet comfortable environment easy to relax and just enjoy your meal and company.

This was, without question, one of the most disappointing meals I've ever endured. The food was utterly flavorless--so bland it felt like no effort was made at all. The service only made things worse: inattentive, slow, and careless from start to finish. To make matters worse, this part of town doesn't offer many alternatives, which makes the existence of this place even more frustrating. Do yourself a favor and steer clear. Unless you've given up on the idea of enjoying edible food, there is absolutely no reason to subject yourself to this disaster of a restaurant.

Great restaurant for any occasion! Often it looks busy from the front, but I almost always get sat right away and it's not an issue. I love the steak tacos and Maui chicken, both have great flavor and are a substantial portion.

Ordered the 12oz ribeye with a loaded bake and house salad. The salad was nice with a 5 star bread basket .... Wow the bread tasted great. Loaded bake was huge and delicious. Ribeye was perfect medium rare as ordered with a nice wood fired flavor.

The food was great and the potion size was ideal for a person The restaurant was clean, quiet and we were seated immediately. The food was quick, the drinks were nice and the staff did pay attention.

From the ambiance to the excellent customer service and the amazing food; Hickory Falls is a MUST to visit. As one of the only restaurants to obtain a "healthy" meal in Smyrna, you will not be disappointed with their large selection of entrees available. Highly recommend!

I was really excited to bring my mom to Hickory Falls this past Sunday afternoon because I had raved about how good the food was from my first visit. Unfortunately, our experience was not the same. When I walked in, I had a small water bottle with me (I'm pregnant and it was very hot that day, so I carry water with me everywhere). A petite blonde lady at the front immediately said, without a greeting or smile, "you can't bring outside drinks in here," and gave me a look that felt very unwelcoming. It stood out even more because I noticed another guest with their own cup in the restaurant. I took my water back to the car, but by then the vibe was already off. My mom had been seated, but once I sat down I just didn't feel comfortable or welcomed anymore, so I left before ordering. It's disappointing because the food itself really is good, and I wish my mom could have experienced what I enjoyed the first time I came. I hope the staff can work on being more welcoming, because that first interaction sets the tone for the whole visit.

There are a lot of chain places to eat, but this is locally owned and operated. I think the owner was actually walking around saying hi to tables. He didn't come off as management. This place was great in every aspect. It was clean, very fast (ate at 8:00pm), staff was super friendly and attentive, and the food was REALLY good. My waiter told me the rotisserie chicken was most popular for 17 years, so i went with that. Did not disappoint! It was VERY good, flavorful and not dry! Great slight smoke flavor too!

I like to stop by here when I'm in the area. I've always enjoyed their food. I've tried the steak here before and I've liked it. I've never had anything bad here. Their rolls are pretty good, and I recently tried the club sandwich here. It wasn't bad at all. Service wise, this recent experience, we just went to the bar area. They have a really big bar. I was quite surprised since we've been here so many times, and never really came to the bar area. It's much bigger than a lot of other bars.

Stopped here on a work trip as I followed my nose to the parking lot, great smell outside. We were seated quickly but quickly found out the service was off when it took so long for the drinks to arrive. Although the food was good the timing was completely off and the steak was way undercooked and had no flavor. Great carrot cake if you like the mixture of a cinnamon roll and a carrot cake. I would give it another shot, just seemed like an off night.

This is a great steakhouse right off the interstate in Smyrna. The menu is diverse and has everything from creative takes on grilled chicken to delicious, juicy steaks. They have a great happy hour as well when you sit in the bar area.

Stopped in Saturday for a Burger. Once again, Food, service everything was great! Waitress was so nice! Will be back!!!!

Had the pleasure of having dinner here on two different occasions over a weekend filled with soccer games, the food was amazing along with great and friendly service. Highly recommend plus a great atmosphere for the whole family.

There is plenty of parking around the restaurant. We were seated pretty quickly and our waiter was attentive throughout the meal, checking in refilling drinks and bringing more dressing. Take a pass on the broccoli go with the green beans instead. The salmon and garlic mashed potatoes were good. I enjoyed the salad but wished I had gone with a different dressing (got the thousand island and should have gotten the honey mustard). It wasn't overly loud and the booth gave a more intimate feel for conversation.

Food was just average. Service was adequate....ambiance was pure chain restaurant. A bit pricey all things considered

This was my first time here, I pass it at least twice a week but never stopped in. Let me say WHOA!!!! I will be back. The staff was super nice, atmosphere was warm and cozy. The food was literally perfect! Chocolate cake is a must have. If I had one thing bad to say it was the caesar salad, the dressing was not your typical dressing I could barely taste it.

Took my granddaughter out for dinner! It was good, service was good granddaughter enjoyed her food! no complaints.

Stopped on a Monday for dinner with traveling for business. Service was fine, food was served quickly but underwhelmed with overall experience and flavor. Enjoyed the spinach artichoke dip for an appetizer. Chicken Parmesan was good and able to swap noodle selection. Parking available onsite.

This was my first time eating in Smyrna and I was impressed. I was seated promptly and the server brought out some hot rolls with butter as a complementary appetizer. The rolls were so soft and the butter was at the perfect temperature as well. These just melted in my mouth. For the main, I went ahead and ordered a buffalo chicken sandwich with a side of fries. The chicken was crispy and the sauce was spicy as expected. I loved the seasoning on the fries. I just really they had given me some more. I thought the portion size of the fries was a bit too small. Overall, I had a great time. The ambiance was typical of a sit down restaurant and dimly lit. I felt like this could be a great place for corporate lunches or dinners. The servers were attentive and kind.

I had a bottled water in my hand as we walked in. The hostess immediately told us I wasn't allowed to bring it in. I don't drink tap water & I can't have soda. The water i drink is the only thing I drink throughout my day. I have never had an issue with any other restaurant about this, it's a bottled water. I will never stop here again & would not recommend it. I find this very rude & inconsiderate of patrons.

Last minute Valentines dinner after the State middle school tournament. We sat at the bar and had a great meal with great service! Both of us got cedar plank salmon and it was remarkably good.

Our waiter was attentive and did a great job with our requests. I ordered a ribeye and baked potato. The baked potato was piping hot fresh out of the oven. For me, that is rare in most restaurants. The ribeye had a different taste, like some type of fruit marinade? I ate half and brought the rest to go.

Solid 3 stars. Walked into this restaurant with high hopes based on the photos we saw online as well as how packed it was on a Tuesday night! We ordered calamari and fried cheese to start. The calamari was the worst calamari I've had in a long time. Maybe ever. Cheaply made- poorly presented, and overall just such a disappointment to such an iconic appetizer. It looked like lightly battered thin sliced onion rings. The cheese was good. The bread rolls with honey butter are actually nasty. They have an awful waxy/acrid taste! Never had that experience before. Our entrees were all mediocre except for mine (hooray) which was a pasta dish and very good. But 1/4 entrees being good is not really worth celebrating. Our server wasn't warm and friendly. The vibe here is cool but the food doesn't match the atmo. Won't be coming back.

The prime rib is amazing!! My family has tried many items on the menu and has never been disappointed!' Service is always good. I highly recommend this restaurant

We've eaten here a few times and the service is always top notch. The staff is super attentive and eager to make your experience great. The food is well priced and fairly good. Nothing mind blowing going with it though. I'd love to see them take a page out of the menu and really focus on creating some truly standout dishes. Overall, I'd say to give this place a shot if you're in the area and looking for a spot to grab dinner. You'll be satisfied.

We had a wonderful lunch with an amazing server! Addie took care of everything before we ever had to ask. This allowed us to just be able to enjoy our meal and conversation without looking around wondering where the waitress was every time we needed something. I absolutely recommend the mashed sweet potatoes! We had Maui Chicken and Parmesan Crusted Chicken. Everything was delicious! It was a very calm and aesthetically pleasing atmosphere. We will definitely be back! Top tier!

Wow. Just wow. This place is amazing. Nice rustic style decor. The parking lot was pretty full so we expected a wait, but we were seated right away. The inside is bigger than it looks. Our server was so nice and very efficient. 2 items I had were the most delicious food I've had in my life. Hands down. The potato skins: nice and crisp skins, soft and fluffy potato, I almost wanted to order another just for myself for dinner. The ribs were to die for. Literally fall of the bone, so tender and flavorful. I also ordered the chop steak meal. It had a nice smoky flavor along with the mushrooms and onions. I was sad when I couldn't keep eating. A manager even stopped by to make sure everything was to our liking. Definitely one of the best restaurants I've ever been too. If you're anywhere near here, DEFINITELY make it a priority to stop

If you're hungry, but not sure what you're in the mood for, Hickory Falls is a great place to eat. They've got pasta, steak, burgers, seafood, etc. And the food is delicious! Plus, rolls with your meal which is probably my favorite part.

Wouldn't let my daughter bring her own water in, then when I talked to the manager she said okay but acted like a Karen about it! F this place

Service was excellent and the food was surprisingly good for a typical American bistro type restaurant. I had a French dip sandwich and their gumbo while others in the party had shrimp and grits and the fish and chips. I will say that the carrot cake is exceptional.

We ordered: Buffalo Chicken with green beans; Reuben sandwich with fries and Mac-n-cheese; Liver and onions; and the dip sandwich. The Mac and cheese was the only item that was ok. The fries were very tasty and hot. My buffalo chicken was stately. Plenty of overhang. The service was great and Dillion was very attentive.

This was a random stop on the way through to get to GA and I am very pleased with our service! Kevin C. Gave great service from start to finish, with incredible food! And the restaurant has the most professional sense of direction I've seen in a while. I've worked in and still do and lighting is set great, tables are well lite to see the menus. It's an all around great experience!

My husband and I have been here several times and have been very happy with the service. To be honest, the service was very good but the food this time was mediocre. We took my son, who lives in Chicago, on our way to the airport and were extremely disappointed in the quality of the food. Especially for our son. He ordered the club sandwich which came very dry and didn't even have bacon on it. When he requested some bacon he was brought a plate of two finger width slices of bacon for his entire sandwich. Very overpriced for what he got and not impressive at all. I had ordered fried calamari which I have ordered before there. Unfortunately, one bite was extremely fishy and it was too late for me to get rid of it by the time that flavor hit my mouth. My husband ordered a blackened chicken salad and it was definitely mediocre. I have recommended this place as a good stop between the airport and parts south. I hesitate now because the food has to be better to make it worth the stop.

The food here was what you would expect from a chain. I don't know if this is a chain because I'm not from the area this restaurant was chosen only because it was the halfway point between family and we were meeting for dinner. It wasn't bad but wasn't great just mediocre. We had potato skins, steak, Mac and cheese, pasta etc I don't know everything was just fine but not anything to brag about. Service was good and staff was friendly all and all a good experience but very forgettable cuisine. Good for families and kids for sure.

Review is about a week old: Was told the food here was good. So after work, decided to give it a try. Out of all the food ordered, the potato skins were the best. I'm a salmon lover and I didn't get any hint of a bourbon glaze. I did see something that resembled a sauce, but the salmon lacked flavor. The mashed sweet potatoes were a bit runny. It had some juice of a sauce that I think was too much. The asparagus was overcooked a bit to my liking. The steak was actually better the next day. It was okay when it came out, but I think just being a bit disappointed with our expectations, it affected my appetite. The service was great. Our server was very prompt, thorough and she went over & above to provide great customer service. The hostess, managers and staff were welcoming and attentive. The restaurant was clean and it's perfect for after work, date night or celebrating a special occasion. They also have a nice bar if you want to dine there instead of in the dining area.

The food and service was excellent, thank you for a very pleasant experience. I'm sorry to say in California the service is hit and miss. My time in Tennessee so far has been very pleasant, thank you.

Looking for a place to dine, stopped at Hickory Falls Wood Fired Grilled and Bar, and what a great experience. The server Makenzie did an amazing job giving me a great recommendation for my dinning plate. The Manager was making sure all was as expected and everybody was happy around my table, making the ambiance joyful. I will certainly dine here again next time I am back in Smyrna, TN.

Reuben sandwich was great! No longer serve the onion straws... disappointing. Service was good. Noisy but standard for restaurant of its caliber.

I dig this spot for what it is; good old fashioned cooking kinda like what I grew up on. Can be a bit loud. Service is pleasant and food is tasty.
