"Surelythe world’s only museum to showcase the phalluses of an entire nation's mammalian wildlife, Iceland’s Phallological Museum is somewhat unique. Despite its obvious quirk factor, the museum is actually an interesting and—for the most part—fairly serious establishment. It offers guests the chance to inspect almost 300 penises (including parts of penises) that together represent pretty much all the land and sea mammals to be found throughout the country. A quarter belong to various types of whales, but there are also samples from polar bears and seals, as well as a letter from a local human pledging his own personal specimen posthumously. There are also elf penises, though you’ll need special psychic powers to see them."

It was definitely fun and unique experience. I would recommend to stop by and explore this museum while in Iceland. There is a lot of information to read about the museum and basic ideas on which it was created. Lots of animals genitalia to see up close. Some interesting facts as well. They have nice gift shop with a lot of souvenirs. You can easily spend there 2 hours just reading facts and walking around.

It was quirky, educational, and surprisingly fascinating. The Icelandic Phallological Museum in Reykjavík is unlike any other. With specimens from whales to mice, it offers a unique look at anatomy, evolution, and culture. The exhibits are tastefully presented, blending science, folklore, and a touch of humor. It's weird in the best way—fun, respectful, and definitely memorable. A must-see for the curious traveler!

It’s definitely a unique experience. It doesn’t take long to go through, but you might spend an hour there. When you’re in Iceland, why not check it out? There’s a gift shop where you can buy fun gifts.

Pretty cool if you don't mind seeing a lot of a formaldehyde animal penises and penis bones. There are lots of cool penis themed object ls like walking canes, golf clubs and some famous and also not so famous people penis molds. You can even grab lunch there (if you still have an appetite)

The Philological Museum may not be the biggest or most well-endowed attraction, but it still manages to leave an impression. They say it’s not about the size, but how you use it, and this place makes the most of its small space with engaging exhibits and a unique focus. Despite being on the smaller side, the museum is well-curated and offers an enjoyable experience, especially for those with an appreciation for language, literature, and the nuances of philology. Sure, it’s not the longest or girthiest museum visit, but sometimes the short and sweet experiences are the most memorable. If you’re in the area, it’s worth a quick stop—even if it’s just for the novelty of saying you visited. After all, not every museum needs to be massive to be satisfying!

It is quite badly advertised unfortunately. I heard about this museum from an Icelandic woman, the day before i would leave. I thought it would be funny, but it's actually quite informative and interesting. I would most certainly recommend it!

While this is certainly a unique and interesting experience, I have to admit there is a limit to how interesting phalluses are. I would have liked to see more of an exploration of the underlying emphasis placed on the penis here: yes it's good for a giggle and there is mention here and there about the need to de-stigmatise and celebrate the male human anatomy as well as phalluses in general but (forgive me) the "point" somewhat passed me by. Why are penises being explored and exhibited in such reverence here? What does the penis symbolise in society? What are the things we can learn about ourselves and about society through such an exhibit? Perhaps I'm overthinking it, but I do feel there is something meaningful behind the eccentricity of this place that is worth interrogating.

Would recommend if you have time and are in the area! Time: 45-60 min Great experience! Took about an hour to go through the museum and read all the interesting facts. Very impressed by the “well endowed” collection! What started out as a semi-joke has turned into a well-curated little museum with interesting facts and tidbits. They also have a food area with drinks and snacks to relax and a gift shop! We came in early April in the evening (around 5:30p) and it was not too crowded. Maybe 2-3 groups of visitors in each mini room. Although it could be seen as 18+, I would suggest at your discretion as it is mostly just facts about peepees and nothing really suggestive (unless I missed it). For around 25 usd, I would recommend!
