Gotta support a family run restaurant. Good food. Get there early on weekends because it gets busy

Google
It was my sons birthday, and he was craving fried chicken for breakfast. I googled best fried chicken, and this place popped up. It didn't disappoint. They use fresh, not frozen chicken. It was really juicy. My son was very pleased with it. I ordered the pork chops and was happy with mine as well. My hubby ordered the chicken and waffles, and he couldn't finish it. Proportions are huge. I think we found our new breakfast spot. We have to come back for lunch or dinner. They also have an islander flare to the menu serving moco loco, fried rice, and Hawaiian macaroni. A must try if you are in the area. Let's make this place a not so hidden cafe 🤩

Google
Gluten free pancakes were delicious along with everything else that we ordered! The staff and owner are pleasant and very attentive. Our food arrived, hot and quickly after ordering. We sat outside in an area beautifully decorated with plants, heaters and shade. We so happen to hit the perfect timing during the week when there wasn’t as many people. We hear that over the weekend it can get quite busy. However, the food and the atmosphere is worth the wait!

I just left the hidden cafe for the first time abs I have to say I have very impressed with the food, service, and atmosphere. The location is perfect. It is hidden away in a corner of a small shopping center. It is very clean and cozy. The food was delicious and affordable. The menu had plenty of options and was diverse. The service was great. Emma is a fantastic server. They also do military discount. This place has become one of my favorite breakfast spots in Ventura county.

Talk about truth in advertising! Hidden Cafe lives up to its name in the most delightful way. Tucked away in the shopping centre, it's so well concealed you might think they're playing an elaborate game of hide-and-seek with their customers. Pro tip: bring a treasure map or a keen sense of smell to locate this gem! Once you've conquered the challenge of finding it (no small feat, I assure you), you're in for a treat. The cafe offers both indoor and outdoor seating, catering to all preferences. Bonus points for being dog-friendly in their outdoor area - because who doesn't want to enjoy a fantastic breakfast with their furry friend? Speaking of breakfast, it's absolutely top-notch. The food here isn't just good; it's the kind of meal that makes you question all your previous breakfast experiences. And the best part? You barely have time to anticipate it. The service is so quick, you might suspect they have time-bending abilities or a secret army of ninja chefs. In all seriousness, Hidden Cafe is a standout spot. From its playful location to its excellent food and lightning-fast service, it's a place that turns first-time visitors into regulars. Just remember to leave a trail of breadcrumbs so you can find your way back!

Ordered short ribs, was so excited to try it since it was our first time. To our surprised, food was really salty and sour to the point where i had goosebumps eating it. Service was good so we still left tip for him. And also the cinnamon rolls was super sweet, ordered that thinking it would make the saltiness and sourness go away but made me even nauseous because it was way too sweet. It could have been better if there was no filling inside. And for the price that we paid, I expected it to be a good food.

This was my first visit and I'm happy to say that I was pleasantly surprised! I can understand the name, "Hidden Cafe". Our car GPS was even off by one street; I think this was the fault of poor phone reception on my part. This little gem of a restaurant was well worth the visit. The food was fantastic, with many choices to try on future visits. I'm my opinion the food was priced just right, no prices seemed out of line. The servers were very attentive and the refills on drinks and extra napkins were quick to arrive at our table. There is inside seating and patio seating. Space heaters too for chilly days. It's easy off and on the 101 freeway at the Camarillo Springs exit. I ordered chili Verde omelet with flour tortillas and O'brian (sp?) potatoes. Fresh salsa on request. So tasty 😋

Google
Delicious and great service. We had the deluxe loco moco, chilequiles, spam with eggs and rice, pancakes, and cinnamon roll. All were delicious and would order again. Our server was sweet and attentive. A great place to get a classic breakfast or a tasty twist.

Google
What a treat. Reasonably priced breakfast fare served with friendliness and care. We had a number of traditional breakfast items and they were all fresh, flavorful and well proportioned. In fact, the chicken and waffles looked delicious and could have easily feed two people. Our server was a pro. She made for an enjoyable meal. The prices were OK. No bargains, but again the servings were generous. I must say the outdoor patio area was just ok. A touch cramped if I'm honest. But that would not stop us from hurrying back for breakfast again. We will return.

Yelp
Hidden Cafe is a true gem in our community! Family-owned and operated, they make you feel like part of the family from the moment you walk in. Open for breakfast and lunch, the menu offers something for everyone, from hearty classics to unique favorites. Personally, I can't get enough of their green chili--it's hands down the best in town! Every dish that comes out of the kitchen looks absolutely delicious. My next choice is usually the Eggs Benedict or the ahi salad. The fried chicken and waffles and the loco moco are especially popular choices. The cafe offers multiple seating options--indoors, outdoors, and on the patio--making it a great spot for gatherings. They can easily accommodate groups, and I've seen plenty of happy parties there. What makes Hidden Cafe even more special is the occasional themed menus and events: a take-home turkey dinner for Thanksgiving, a special Valentine's menu, and even an annual outdoor party with live music. Jesse, the owner, told me the next one is September 6, 2025, for those in town reading this. It is fun to stop by. If you haven't been yet, it's definitely worth a visit! And if calories don't count, snag a cinnamon roll. Thank me later. Exit the 101 at Camarillo Springs to get there.

Yelp
This place may be hidden but sure is packed so come early. It's a small place but plenty of seating outdoors and pet friendly too. Why 4 stars? The last time we went I order to go and was given a stale cinnamon roll. We live an hour away and unable to return it. It's a crime to sell stale cinnamon rolls! Service 5 stars! Totally love... Moco Loco Cinnamon roll Breakfast burrito sausage and bacon Moco Loco Moco Loco And yes you guest it the Moco Loco is our favorite

Yelp
Private parking lot. Classic diner ambience. Indoor & outdoor seating. Quiet neighborhood. Customer service is always a hit or miss, but we truly appreciate the good days. This is our go-to breakfast spot when my significant other is in town. My favorite are their pancakes - they taste deliciously buttery. But as you can see in my photos, they've gotten disappointingly small though ::sigh::

Yelp
Stopped in today while in the area and yes it's a Hidden Cafe! The ambiance was cool with what looked like locals who enjoy good home cooked food. The hostess was very kind and sat me at a nice lil spot in the patio area. Emma was my amazing server with kindness and a smile she took my order. I had a cup of coffee and a make your own omelet with a fruit cup. The food was tasty and hot and the other staff members who helped out were also quite kind and professional. Highly recommended

Yelp
I am so glad we decided to come here for brunch!!! We were on a road trip and decided to stop here for some food and I'm so glad we did. It is a little hidden but not really! Ample parking and plenty of seating. We came around 11 on Tuesday and were sat out front in the shade with fans blasting. Our server I wish I got her name but was amazing. Very kind and attentive. We started with some coffee and I got the hot chocolate which was amazing! The tuna melt was DELICIOUS! As well as the Mac salads. The ribeye was the crowd pleaser WOW the char on it was delicious. It was juicy and perfectly cooked. We also got some pancakes and added some fruit to it which was cooked perfectly as well. I'm so happy we decided to try this cafe it truly was a great time!

Yelp
Definitely "hidden" away from hustle and bustle. Cute place with a cozy, warm feel. Super friendly service, giving good recommendations. I had the loco moco, just what I expect from it- delicious gravy and a mix of Hawaiian flavors. Give them a shot!
google avatar

Jenn H.

Yelp
We asked Emma what her favorite dishes were and she said chile verde or loco moco. We asked what the most popular dishes were and she said loco moco and fried chicken and waffles. I tried the chile verde, eggs over easy, steamed rice and flour tortillas. Everything was served hot! The flavor on the chile verde was dot com. Pork was super tender. I definitely needed the rice and eggs and flour tortillas to mask the heat of the dish. But soooo flavorful. Indoor seating and covered outside searing available. Small place but very clean and orderly. Our server Emma is one the daughter in laws in this Hawaiian owned restaurant. She was so sweet and helpful. She brought our table of 3 all separate checks without us asking. That was so thoughtful to make it easy. Usually we're fighting each other over the check.

Yelp
Haha, this has got to be one of my dad's favorite restaurants. And for good reason too - this family business has some of the best brunch food out there! Anyways. We came on a Sunday afternoon, no wait time! We ordered our food quickly. I can say with certainty that service is ALWAYS super friendly here and really makes sure you're getting taken care of. There's lots of seating, it's very much a quiet but cozy brunch atmosphere. I ordered the French Toast with whip and strawberries on top. My family got the Deluxe Loco Moco (HIGHLY recommend, my dad's FAVORITE!), and the Sisters combo. Food was average wait, but it was definitely worth it. The Loco Moco is one of the best things you can get on the menu here. And my french toast was really fluffy and tasted absolutely amazing. I can't recommend this spot enough. So, I suggest you go try it out for yourself, you absolutely won't regret coming here! So good!!

Yelp
Hidden Cafe has a beautiful location with a lovely, welcoming atmosphere. The staff are incredibly friendly and make you feel right at home. I tried the country fried steak with gravy, hash browns, and over-easy eggs. While the portion was huge, the flavor wasn't quite what I was hoping for. It's a great spot to visit for the vibe, but I'm not sure if I'd order this dish again

Yelp
This restaurant is appropriately named as it is a bit "hidden" in a sense lol. It's super easy to miss the exit if you're coming from 101S, and the place itself is pretty lowkey with only a small neon sign in the window that identifies it as "Hidden Cafe." It's a somewhat small location with a very casual feel to it and minimal decor, but the deluxe loco moco here is SO good. Generous portion size and so delicious. The only thing was at least for the deluxe, it would be ideal if it came with more rice given all the salty meats and gravy that it comes with (although I'm not one to complain about too much meat lol). My boyfriend and I opted to get an extra side of rice to share and that was perfect. I also really liked that steamed rice is offered as a side for pretty much all the breakfast items, which is unique and a nice alternative to the usual potatoes or toast. Would definitely eat here again!

Yelp
Found this places because I looked up breakfast in my local area and I saw a locomoco and didn't even look at anything else . Came in and saw a guy with a Guam shirt on and was stoked. First time here was amazing we ordered some staples . Bro got chicken fried chicken (they brined the chicken to perfection ) crust was like kfc adjacent (bomb) . I got the deluxe locomoco . Lemme tell you I've been to aloha and rutts.... This beats that. And since it was our first time we also got the homemade cinnamonroll. It's like soft in a way that Cinnabon couldn't fathom . Everything was great . Service was cool seating was easy. They pass the vibe check. Thanks coming back again

Yelp
I came in for breakfast and was told I couldn't be seated until my guest arrived. I understand restaurants have policies, but refusing to seat a single person--especially when plenty of tables were open--was frustrating and unnecessary. I just wanted to sit, relax, and wait for my friend, but instead I was left standing awkwardly at the entrance. If you're planning to meet someone here, make sure they show up on time--or expect to wait outside. Definitely not a great spot for a casual catch-up or date. Won't be coming back anytime soon.

Yelp
My wife and I tried to have brunch this morning at Hidden Cafe. It is a bit of a drive, but we hadn't been there for a while, so we thought that we would give it a try. It was just before 9 AM, and the restaurant wasn't crowded, so we went inside. The man at the register was helping another party, but waved us toward the enclosed patio. There was an empty table for two, so we took our seats. About a minute later a woman who appeared to be a server approached us and said something to us that I couldn't understand, so I asked her to repeat what she said. She proceeded to tell us that "I can't allow you to sit here." No explanation as to why. Just a terse statement that she couldn't ALLOW US TO SIT THERE. My wife and I looked at each other and promptly got up and left the restaurant. The staff at this restaurant used to be pleasant and friendly, but that seems to have changed. In the past, the only issue that we ever had at Hidden Cafe was a shortage of close parking. That wasn't issue today, as plenty of parking was available. I can't guess why.

Yelp
I haven't gone to this restaurant in a while and I think it might have gotten even better than last time. I ordered the Belgium waffle with eggs and bacon and it was delicious the service was fast and efficient all the servers were nice. Also it is a really good place to just go have a nice relaxing breakfast I would highly recommended this place.

Victor L.

Yelp
Best Loco Moco ever ! Chicken and waffles are a hit also, made to order Great customer service too

John B.

Yelp
We ate their last Sunday and the food was very good and came out in a timely manner even though they were very busy. I highly recommend Hidden Cafe!
google avatar

Adam F.

Yelp
Food is a bit bland. But felt moist and fresh. Service was quick and servers were very nice. I think it's pretty okay. My mom really liked it. They serve breakfast and lunch. You can sit inside or out. If everyone from your party is not there, you have to wait for them before being seated. The food came quickly. You might like it, so it's worth it. :)
google avatar

Darlene R.

Yelp
Warning! Their menu prices are only valid if they don't decide to change them "without notice". I ordered pork chops and eggs. For $17 on the menu. The eggs were OK, the pork chops were tough, like overcooked. But what really rankled me was that I was charged $19. Why? The first $1 was a smallish sign telling about an egg surcharge. That I could accept. The second $1 was covered by 4 pt print (think tiny print) on the menu bottom that said "...prices were subject to change without notice". Not coming here again.
google avatar

Yelp
A great breakfast spot. The menu truly has something for everyone. I've dined here a few times and honestly it's always A plus. Service was amazing from the hostess who sat us and our friendly waitress. Cute cafe my son and I enjoyed our meal. The chicken and waffles is one of our go to the waffles was not photographed trust me it was amazing. If you love a good fried chicken this is a must try, it's well seasoned and crispy yet still moist. Mouth watering good.

Yelp
Really good eggs Benedict I was at The Local next door and my friend saw someone order from here. She suggested I try it. She ordered the Moco Loco. We were both happy with our meals.. Someone delivered it to us at The Local and she was the nicest. There was a hair in my potatoes but I had finished my meal practically. Accidents happen .. I wouldn't ding them for that this time! Great prices too !!! Didn't get to see how it looked inside but will check out soon!
google avatar

Yelp
First off, great little family style spot. Everyone working was awesome! We could ask anyone for anything and they would handle it, none of the "let me get your server" BS. Started with the cinnamon roll and then washed it down with the Loco Moco!! Next visit I'll do the Deluxe Loco Moco with spam and Portuguese sausage! Staff was awesome, food was awesome, we're coming back, soon!
google avatar

Augie H.

Yelp
If you're looking to sit down for lunch and never be acknowledged, Hidden Cafe is the place for you. After being seated, waited over 15 minutes without so much as a glass of water. Safe to say, I left hungry -- and won't be back.
google avatar

Mindy B.

Yelp
This was a mediocre experience at a 3 star restaurant. The positive reviews are baffling. O'Brien potatoes not good. My eggs Benedict were hard cooked on the inside. My friends food was bland and dry. Please, I welcome a recommendation for good food in Camarillo if anyone can find it.
google avatar

Yelp
Like most Yelpers, I like to scope new places to try and stumbled across this place at the base of Conejo Grade. Today is my second visit and am well pleased! What initially caught my eye was Loco Moco on their menu. Aside from a tiki bar in Ventura, finding Loco Moco involves a trip to the South Bay and Torrance area. On my first visit, I tried their deluxe Loco Moco and it was on a par with Liliha Bakery in Honolulu for flavor! For my second visit (today) I tried their Fried Chicken.. another winner. But what also truly brought me back and also for future visits is how friendly and pleasant their staff is! I felt welcomed the very first time I entered! A true gem in Camarillo just off US 101 and also close to Camarillo Grove Park.

Yolanda W.

Yelp
Great food and service. Cash made sure we had everything we needed. He was very attentive and polite. My husband loved their fried chicken and the pancakes are the best he's ever tasted. We'll be coming back to this "Hidden Cafe" tucked away from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
google avatar

George S.

Yelp
Came across this great little breakfast/brunch/ lunch spot in Camarillo this past weekend. We had the Loco Moco (ground beef patty over rice with eggs and gravey) and the Fried Chicken and waffles! We were not disappointed! The food was delicious. The fried chicken was tender and crispy, and the waffle was huge. The Loco Moco was tasty as well. The service was fast and employees were all great, very friendly and attentive. They have an indoor area that is pretty spacious and outdoor patios for dining as well. The lines can get long, but worth the wait. The restaurant doesn't have a big sign, so it is pretty hidden. Just know that it's located at the corner of the building. We will be coming back to try more menu items. Enjoy and Happy Nom Nom!
google avatar

Richard C.

Yelp
I had the waffle it was bomb, it was 7 o'clock in the morning there was three people in the restaurant. My server was too busy talking to get our bill.
google avatar

Brian P.

Yelp
You've probably driven past this place many times passing your way up or down the grade in Camarillo. I have only been here a few times and only for brunch but the food has always been consistent and the prices are really good for the portion sizes. I always come here for the Hawaiian plates because that's where I think their strengths are. Loco moco, Portuguese sausage, spam, fried rice for breakfast ? Yes please. Seriously they do all these things very well here. The American fare is fairly standard and if you're looking for straight forward diner food you won't be disappointed by other items on the menu. The cinnamon roll is a highlight though, one of my favorite things on the menu and is a great thing to split while you enjoy a cup of coffee before your main meal arrives. Their fried chicken is also a great choice. Crispy and delicious. The place is very casual with both indoor/outdoor seating. Like most brunch places it's going to be busy on the weekends, so prepare for a wait and the kitchen to get backed up. My experience today was that it was pretty quick even though we got there around 10:30. It was busy but not too busy.

J M.

Yelp
Food is good but not great. Service is good. They are always busy due to location (only eatery in immediate area). Seating inside and out is very disappointing and feels old/dirty. I was hoping for better since it is so close.
google avatar

Jenn W.

Yelp
This place is INCREDIBLE! We started with the cinnamon roll which is huge but doesn't fill you up. Highly recommend it. I kept it simple with one egg, bacon & hash browns. And their coffee is wonderful. Hubby got spam and eggs and rice. He loved it!
google avatar

Kim C.

Yelp
The ahi Benedict, cottage fries and cinnamon rolls are the stars of this place. I always ask for the cinnamon roll to be warmed with a side of butter and it's EVERYTHING. I've taken some as gifts for people and it blows their mind when they try it. I'm still yet to try their fried chicken and loco moco so I need to plan some future trips! Definitely give this place a try if you haven't. It's one of the best hidden gems in the 805! Yum!
google avatar

Cameron C.

Yelp
This is an out of the way gem. the food is reasonably priced and tasty. The wait staff was fun and inviting. I have the chorizo, eggs, and beans. it filled me up and was tasty. I liked the small outdoor patio, it was quiet and inviting.
google avatar

David L.

Yelp
I love this place. The service is amazing, and the food is amazing. Always coming back it brings a cozy vibe like you're visiting your family's house for a nice hot meal. I always come back for the loco moco deluxe. The price and the portion you get, you can't beat. The amazing food is just the cherry on top. Everything is so flavorful, the meat is juicy and perfectly cooked. This may sound crazy but my top most favorite thing (and I wish they sold these in containers) is the sauce! I always end up asking for some to go just so I can enjoy it a little longer back home.
google avatar

Yelp
Wonderful "hidden" spot for breakfast and lunch. Pretty much a local spot and for anyone who might frequent the Camarillo Springs Golf Course next door. The food is great here. I love their breakfast. My son usually orders their burgers and sandwiches, I got their Loco Moco (tasty) and their Corned Beef Hash with eggs and fried rice plus pancakes was yummy! Good service, plenty of parking, credit cards okay. You might have a short wait on the weekends since it's a smaller spot. I'm dropping in everything I play golf next door!

Takeo K.

Yelp
HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! I frequent this restaurant off and on. This is a beautifully run family restaurant with delicious food. The family is always nice and welcoming. I love the Aloha spirit of the place. The food is delicious with a Hawaiin style theme and more. Chicken and waffle breakfast is great. So much food I ate it for two days..Corn beef hash is another one of my favs. Mahalo for being in Camarillo!!

Robert N.

Yelp
What a great find!!!! Had my initial visit today after hearing about this place for quite some time both by ear and online. I had the House Omelette and it was perfect. Nice quaint little place and the service was excellent. Highly recommend this place for a nice breakfast. And my waitress was a cutie too!!!! I just happened to have the morning off during the week which doesn't happen very often. Can't wait to check it out on a weekend. 10 out of 10!!!!

Lynne W.

Yelp
I've loved this place for years. Good food, reasonable prices and pet friendly. Their specialties are always fresh, and delicious.
google avatar

Mitchell L.

Yelp
I hate leaving bad reviews, but I just don't see why this place is so popular. I ordered the loco moco since it was so popular. The moco had really no flavor, not seasoned well at all. The burger patty inside was okay, but the rest of it left much to be desired. I've lived in Hawaii so I know what a loco moco should taste like. It was upsetting that I paid an extra $3 for fried rice instead of white rice. You could blindfold me and I wouldn't taste the difference sadly. I also got a cappuccino which was good after I doctored it up a little. I didn't end up finishing my meal since I didn't quite care for it. The place was also really dirty and a mess. That carpet needs some love FYI. The only shinning grace was the service. They were good and very friendly. I won't be coming back here, this place will stay hidden from my life. Sorry, just not for me I guess.

Yelp
This was a terrific place with good food. Hope to return again when we visit Camarillo.

Yelp
For sure a Hidden Gem of Camarillo. Staff is pleasant and friendly. The food is fresh and delicious!

C N.

Yelp
One of my favorite local breakfast places. It's unfortunate but also probably good, that it's off the beaten path - I sometimes forget about it but always get a seat with minimal waiting. Love that they are one of the few places that serve Portuguese sausage and a Hawaiian breakfast favorite, Loco moco. I always get the deluxe because I love the spam also. This time I took a chance and asked if they had Furikake and the server brought me her personal bottle. Their staff always so friendly and helpful. Their food is delicious and I'm never disappointed. Also, I ordered a mimosa, and did not come in your typical champagne glass but came a nice Pilsner glass/size. I recommend the Mango flavor and a cinnamon roll to go! If you can't fit it in while you're there.

Vicki H.

Yelp
It was a long time that we went to hidden Café and I cannot remember what we had. The service was very good.

Yelp
Very disappointed with my visit to the hidden Café this morning I have been here twice and both times were very pleasant experiences this time however, when we got there at 945am we put our name in for seven. The lady asked me if my whole party was there and I said no and she said that's OK because they were getting an area ready, she came out and asked if our party was here 15 minutes later and we said yes they literally just pulled into the parking lot. 15 minutes after that and after everyone else had been seated (even people that showed up after us) we walked in and asked is our table ready yet? She asked us if our party was there again and we said yes, remember we told you that they were pulling into the parking lot the last time you asked us and she looked me dead in the eye and said that's a lie, that's number one. So 30 minutes after we got there we were seated but telling me that I lied to you about my party being there. Got it. The next instance isn't that bad but still kind of annoying we were five adults and two kids and when placing our order my mother asked if she can get the adult eggs Benedict and then a kids strawberry waffle because she didn't want the full order. They would not allow her to do it because she was over 12 years old she's a 69 year old lady I understand there are rules and policies but when you're about to receive $180 breakfast order you think you can let a little thing like that slide again not the biggest annoyance but kind of frustrating. The food has always been really good the last couple times that I've been there. However, every single person's dish had eggs that were cooked extremely hard not one runny yolk in the 12 that came to the table and everything just seemed a little bit downgraded from previous experiences as far as the food quality. Lastly for a party of seven they added a 20% gratuity without an option to change it. I understand on parties of 10 or more that this is a normal thing but at a breakfast joint with a family of seven is absolutely ridiculous but the fact that the lady told us that we lied to her further cemented the fact that I will never come back here and give them my patronage ever again. Sincerely, a very disappointed paying customer that recommended this place to a number of people that will never be a customer again and I will never recommend this place to anybody.

Mitchelle M.

Yelp
Amazing the food is deliciously delivered every time we eat in this cafe. A place to go no wonder the fire fighter are here eating breakfast this morning.

Yelp
It's a hit and miss there, on the food and service. I've been there several times, and it's OK

Yelp
Breakfast with friends It's busy so expect to wait. Food is good and hearty. Coffee is particularly good. Not a fan of having to eat in Camarillo, but I would definitely eat at Hidden Cafe again.

Yelp
Food was served pretty quickly and it tasted great! All the servers were very attentive and kept asking if we needed something else, which was nice.

Yelp
It's not exactly "hidden" because it was busy!! We waited about 15 minutes for a table and then another 20 for our food. We ordered the harvest scramble, the Portuguese sausage and eggs, and a grilled cheese for our toddler. The grilled cheese was by far the best I'd ever tasted and I'm a bit of a connoisseur as a toddler mom. We've had grilled cheese at the Four Seasons, too -- it doesn't compare. They provided my toddler with a tiny cup of lemonade with a lid -- perfect size! Our food was delicious and the pepper hot sauce is a must. 4 stars due to the wait - but 5 star food!
