Google
Went to hidden kitchen and I have to say it has the best service and coffee! I had the luck of getting one of Emma’s hand drawn coffee cups and it was amazing! Thank you so much! I will definitely be back.

Google
Saw the sign and stopped in between appointments at BMC. Crispy fries, tasty grilled cheese (with bacon and tomato), and a wonderfully seasoned steak and cheese. Quick service, friendsly staff, and delicious food. Definitely worth a return trip.

Google
Very nice people but my food was not cooked with love and it shows

Google
Orders a meatball sub, came as meat slices, flavor wasnt good, think the meatballs/slices are frozen until ordered

Delicious griddle-cooked food inside a true hole in the wall

Google
I gave this place 4 stars because I've been going to get food from here since 2009 and never gave a Google review. They deserve that acknowledgment first and foremost. But who ever the new owners or workers there lost a customer today. My steak and cheese sub is a baby compared to what this location is known for. the French fries your typical trash greasy dried hot dog stand fries. The steak flavor isnt bad but I could of went anywhere for what I just ordered. New rating for the new staff is 2.5 smh

Google
I own a salon right around the corner and tried this place recently for the first time! So delicious, great quality food.. fresh & fast! Can’t beat it!

Google
Delicious classic breakfast food served in a very casual takeaway counter atmosphere. There are a few tables in the hallway if you want to sit and eat but most people just order takeout. The price is right (super cheap) and the owners are friendly! It is cash only so make sure you have some on you, there is an ATM nearby in case you forgot.

Yelp
As I said before great place before Covid when previous owners ran it . I was working in the area and being that's there isn't much around to eat and I didn't bring a lunch I opted for a BLT . Pretty tough to screw up a BLT on wheat but they managed to . A few measly pieces of overcooked ( cold ) bacon on an uninspiring little bed of lettuce with a small piece of tomato . Even with cheese and onion it weighed very little . At $14 with a 12oz coke and a bag of chips I decided I'll go hungry next time .

Yelp
Find it and enjoy a nice breakfast. Service is great and friendly. We were in town with a friend going to Boston General while waiting we were glad to find the Hidden Kitchen.

Anime T.

Yelp
It really is a hidden kitchen. I couldn't find it. The food was not good because I couldn't find it. They were no employees because I couldn't find the restaurant.

Yelp
The hidden kitchen is a hidden gem, their breakfast and lunch options are some of the best in the area and the family that runs the business is hard working and very friendly. I love going to the hidden kitchen!

Yelp
How delighted my husband and I were to find this tucked-away tiny micro-diner near the Flower Mart and Boston Medical Center! Our choice for lunch: tasty grilled cheese sandwiches with piping hot delicious French fries. The small order of FF was generous; enough for two. The sandwiches and other menu items looked great as they were picked up by a steady stream of customers or eaten on tiny tables in the small space. Construction workers paraded through grabbing their lunches; many appeared to be frequent customers. The two women creating the food and tending to diners have created a friendly, efficient micro-diner with fabulous food.

Yelp
Since changing hands, food is awful. Chicken salad is like sawdust. Wouldn't waste my time

Yelp
The burgers here are great, juicy, tender and flavorful, they'd cook it the way you want it to be. I'd end up here whenever I'm craving for a burger and adding a fries to go with it. I'd come back to try other items as its coveniently located near my work. P.s call to place an order over the phone, so you dont have to wait long. Cash only.

Yelp
This place really is a special secret (though the PHX has published about it). I'm Greek and my father owns a diner (on Long Island), so you can imagine my immediate loyalty. Their food is greasy as all hell, but that makes their fries and eggplant parm wraps all the more delicious of a treat when you're hungover, tired or wanting to celebrate with comfort food. And the chicken kebob wrap: hot damn! ALSO, they used to make me this wrap when I was vegan that was a veggie burger with ketchup, mustard, lettuce, tomato, salt & pepper. It was really, really good, and completely grease free. The big staple we get is "small [chicken] fingers + fries." You'll feel like a baby is kicking around in your stomach after, but your dompanine receptors will be flooding your body like the Mississippi. Mmm.

Yelp
The Cheese Steak Craver Pleaser of Melted Goodness. I capitalized the important parts. Go bombard this tiny establishment. It can get crowded so have some time on your hands... and cheese too.. don't forget to smother cheese all over your fingers... and then lick it. Just kidding. Wash them thoroughly and then eat your second serving.
google avatar

Maureen D.

Yelp
Amazing family run grill and sandwich shop. The menu is fairly extensive given the small size of the space. The staff is polite and quick. I'll be back many times, now that I know how great it is.

Yelp
I just wanted to update this review to give Jose, Nick, and Maria an extra shout-out of love. In these tough economic times, mom and pop places are struggling to make ends meet. Yet, despite this, the Hidden Kitchen still adheres to using quality, fresh ingredients. They all greet me with giant smiles every time I walk through the door, and Nick is always quick to offer me a complimentary pot of his homemade rice pudding (I suppose my reputation for being a fat kid is growing). I love them from the bottom of my little veggie-burger-and-egg-and-cheese-sandwich heart. Definitely make this your lunch stop for a quick fix.

Jimmy L.

Yelp
Friendly and delicious would be my description. Easy to miss as the name suggests but worth stopping in for a bite
google avatar

Paul K.

Yelp
Food is good and cheap. Sketchy looking location, but a hole in the wall that has good food at a great price. Haven't been disappointed yet. Good quick service too. Grilled cheese is very good!
google avatar

Christy B.

Yelp
Nick and Maria are the best! I recent moved in the neighborhood and they made me feel right at home. Everyone know you there, they are always smiling, and have a positive vibe about them. The food is delicious, as well! It's truly a hidden little gem!!!

Eli F.

Yelp
Health violations all over the place, I went there and noticed them using no gloves and touching raw meat and lettuce and then the same hands picked up French fries to give me. I questioned that and they threw me out of the restaurant in front of people. Don't go there unless you want to chance salmonella and ecoli .
google avatar

Georgina W.

Yelp
Love this place! The owners are so friendly and the food is delicious and reasonably priced. I typically get the greek salad (light feta, no onions), but have also had a steak and cheese (yum), and breakfast sandwiches. Definitely call ahead :)
google avatar

Miriam A.

Yelp
Hidden Kitchen needs to stay Hidden! I've eaten here twice, and both times I got the runs! You can taste the dirty old grease in every bite you take. Yuck yuck yuck, walk a couple of extra blocks down Albany St. and go to Pita...food is much better there and your stomach will thank you!
google avatar

Sarah A.

Yelp
Wow. It really is hidden. It's in this random office building on Albany Street. Completely hidden away! I've never had lunch here but their breakfasts are good and filling and relatively cheap. However, I remain devoted to my men at Albany Sandwich Shop and generally end up there instead, unless I cannot bear to walk the rest of the way down Albany Street without an egg muffin.
google avatar

Tom T.

Yelp
Definitely good for drunchies as one reviewer said it. I didn't have the drunchies or munchies when I went. I thought I was heading into an office building when I entered the doors. The counter lady was super nice. The steak and cheese - hot and cheesey, wish there were other stuff in it though. Decent size for $7
google avatar

Jeff A.

Yelp
Good food and fast service. Works perfectly for my schedule at work. I definitely recommend the place to everybody. Thank you..

Yelp
Small unassuming place with it's entrance inside a building. Very friendly owners. Nick and Maria are really sweet and I had a wonderful conversation with them. I told them what I liked and asked them to choose for me. The steak combo sandwich that they gave me was absolutely delicious. Chopped steak, onions, mushrooms, all grilled and topped of with cheese. Tasty, freshly made and a good size portion. They accept only cash and close at 2:30 pm, so take that into account when going there. They offer breakfast, salads, sandwiches and subs. Will definitely be back.

John C.

Yelp
Great experience my first time going to this place. Got the special for the day which was a hamburger wrap which was absolutely delicious. Very well priced and tasted quality. The woman and man who were working were very friendly also. I definitely will be back

L D.

Yelp
When you see the sign, walk into the building (full of art studios and band rehearsal space) to the second floor, take a left and there's the Hidden Kitchen. It seriously is just a little room. There are a couple of tables out in the hallway but it's mostly a To Go business. If you decide to eat there, be prepared to reek of oily, greasy food. The breakfast sandwiches are super good and cheap. Lunches are more of the same. Most of the food here gives me a tummy ache but it's worth it.

Yelp
Yelped this place and so glad I did. I only had a Greek salad with chicken added. Basic Greek salad, chicken had a hint of lemon to it which went perfect with the salad. Sweet couple who own the place. Had a good conversation with them. If you are around, stop in and visit them. This place had plenty of people coming in and out while I was here. Popular hidden gem for sure!

Yelp
Nick and Maria are wonderful people who make good food. If you are walking down Albany street you can follow your nose to the place as that wonderful greasy spoon smell wafts down the street and draws you in. Hidden kitchen is great at what they do. Simple diner style food that is tasty, consistent, and served by two of the nicest people you'll meet. The prices are right on as well. The cheese steak with onions is my favorite just dripping with yummy gooey cheese and a PILE of steak. The fries are spot on crispy outside warm and soft inside. I also have scarfed down their sausage, pepper, and onion sandwich which was a whole other level of satisfying. My wife LOVES their greek omelet and when she wants to spoil herself will order the pancakes which are large, fluffy, and delicious.

Yelp
I love this hidden little gym. The husband and wife team that have been running it for the past 2+ decades are an absolute joy. The food is great homemade style comfort food. No-frills, what you see is what you get. Just great people making good food. Definitely worth a stop by.

Yelp
This place is really small but, it's my favorite breakfast spot. I go there often i work down the street and i order right before i leave to pick up the food and there usually pretty fast, but always yummy lol. And Maria is always nice.

K P.

Yelp
This place RULES. Best omelets ever. My 4th of July was pretty wild this year, and the next day I was kind of regretting getting so enthusiastic. I dragged myself over to Hidden Kitchen during my lunch break and was REVIVED. The coffee is a-ok, but that's not what you go there for. I love their omelets. Fast, cheap, and filling. This time I got the Greek omelet made with egg whites (without a fuss, without a BS extra charge). Cash only, but whatever, if it keeps costs low, I'm fine with that! I also vastly prefer the crowd of odd folks that patronize this establishment to say, the horrible embroidered chinos crowd at Mike's Diner up a few blocks on Washington.
google avatar

Beth E.

Yelp
Hidden indeed. They serve diner food, though there are only a couple tables to sit at. It's mostly a take-out joint. Great for lunch the day after a night of drinking. Lots of greasy food, but there is some lighter fare on the menu as well. Lots of breakfast items, but I've only ever been for lunch. My go-to place when I'm craving a steak and cheese or a cheeseburger sub for lunch. The folks who work here are super friendly. Gets crowded at lunchtime, but they move quickly.

Yelp
Best steak and cheese omlette to date...although toast was soggy :-/ Word of advice, wrap the toast and keep outside of take out container.
google avatar

Michael F.

Yelp
Food is great and the staff knows your name after the second time you go there. Friday Mac & Cheese comes with a mini salad. Chicken fingers are top quality too!
google avatar

Danielle M.

Yelp
I love this place! I went there once a few years ago and then again a few weeks ago and the owners still remembered my name! They are the best, so kind, and the food is great too! Cheap, simple, but great! They only take cash. Don't be deterred by the hidden location you won't regret coming here if not for the food but for the awesome experience!

Justin S.

Yelp
Great little place for those who work in the area. Nick and Maria are very friendly and know everyone's typical order. Can't beat their prices either!

Tracy S.

Yelp
The warm and hard-working Maria & Nick plus Jose run the fabulously friendly and down-to-earth Hidden Kitchen. Located in what must be one of the most eclectic building of businesses in the city, this tiny joint draws in all sort of folks. The breakfast sandwiches are great, and so is the French Toast. I love that they sell hard boiled eggs, too. My favorite lunch is called the Pocket Salad. It basically a Greek Salad with freshly grilled chicken on top and a piece of pita bread. Select their homemade dressing which is both lemony and garlicky. My only complaint is the overly generous amount of mayo in the tuna and chicken salads. Become a regular and they'll greet you by name in no time.

Joseph M.

Yelp
Great hidden little breakfast place across from the flower exchange.(Hence the name Hidden Kitchen!) I go there for a quick breakfast sometimes. The prices are about the same as a certain "runs" (No pun intended) chain in the Boston area, but the food comes right off the grill hot, the eggs are fresh, bacon is crispy and their lunch menu out does the previously mentioned chains "lunch" menu by a landslide. You can get a variety of items from burgers to cold cut sandwiches and subs, and from hot subs such as their out of this hemisphere steak and cheese to salads and pastas. The owners are the sweetest couple and their adult kids fill in from time to time seamlessly. Drinks in cooler are priced a little high but that is everywhere now I guess.

Janice A.

Yelp
Not only is the food excellent, but the customer service is fast and friendly. The woman is so sweet and nice every time we go. The food is awesome, BLT is GREAT. Plenty of bacon, cannot go wrong. Burgers are great too. Highly recommend.

Mickey P.

Yelp
The owners are incredibly friendly and the food is amazing as well. I recommend the burgers, one of the best I've ever had. I will definitely be back.
