This intimate luxury resort is situated in a guest-exclusive reserve in the Mountain Pine Ridge area of the Cayo District. The boutique property features 10 Estate Rooms and two Estate Suites. It’s one of the only properties where you are likely to find fireplaces, and with good reason – it does get rather chilly in the Mountain Pine Ridge area and the real wood-burning fireplaces are not only romantic, but provide an excellent source of heat on those chilly nights. The Lodge is the estate house where guests can dine in the restaurant, relax in the common areas, or visit the library lounge. The lodge was originally designed as a family vacation home and the personal touches show. It’s an ideal spot to spend the late afternoon having a cocktail, catching up on emails, or reading a good book. Hidden Valley’s plantation-style décor and the more rustic stone hearths in the Lodge provide a very welcoming and warm atmosphere. Be sure to check out the property’s jungle platforms and resting areas. These are great spots for yoga and meditation and even feature Sanskrit names. Whether you do yoga or not, these platforms are prime spots for stopping and relaxing along the water’s edge – a few even offer waterfall views. And speaking of waterfalls, do not miss taking a hike to Butterfly Falls as it’s one of the most picturesque spots in Belize and it’s reserved for guests of Hidden Valley Inn!"

Hidden Valley is an absolute gem. We stayed for 6 nights in February and had one of the best trips of our lives. 2 adults, 2 kids, and we stayed in both a family cottage and a villa. Both were beautiful, clean and well maintained but I highly recommend the Villa - it was extraordinary. The grounds are amazing with so many activities and hikes and anywhere you go, you’re met with the natural beauty of Belize and a hotel that knows how to design a gorgeous space without disrupting the natural environment. What truly makes this hotel special is the people. We were greeted warmly, and everyone was kind, attentive and went above and beyond. It’s incredibly kid friendly, and our girls didn’t want to leave. Ni’Lea planned our vacation, and each day was better than the last. From a day trip to the ruins in Tikal to a family cooking class, each moment was thoughtful and seamless. Sevilla was an amazing host, giving us advice about the area and making great recommendations, and a Chef Kenron’s cooking class (and daily pan dulce) were amazing. Tiana and Tristan were so helpful and kind, and the list goes on. As for Slate and Sap - we tried everything on the menu, and it’s impossible to find something that’s not delicious. Highly recommend the Ox Mul Kah, and the tamalitos (and literally anything else they make, it’s all great!). We will be back to visit, as I can’t imagine wanting to stay anywhere else after our incredible stay.

We really enjoyed our first days in Belize at the Hidden Valley Resort. The service was excellent, the staff really friendly and professional. The hikes and waterfalls were amazing. The Forrest rangers did an excellent job to preserve the bridges and paths. We absolutely enjoyed the traditional food, this was the best we ever had! (And we tried a lot!) Please continue doing this excellent job. Big compliments to all of you. Thanks a lot.

Hidden Valley is the pinnacle of a beautiful rainforest retreat in the mountains of Belize. Situated on a private, quiet, and isolated property, the accommodations are impeccably kept, cozy, and authentic. Most private cottages have a wood-burning fireplace or stove, and the resort stocks all the supplies you'll need for a cozy, romantic fire. Most cottages also have a private outdoor shower, which is lovely for experiencing the rainforest in all its glory. The on-property dining is superb - authentically Belizean while remaining approachable for less adventurous diners. The staff is welcoming, kind, and very knowledgeable, and the property is clean and well-serviced. There are activities aplenty within the resort and well-organized and professional excursions to experience the rainforest and local culture. I can't find a negative thing to say about this resort.

This is the most beautiful majestic property in all of Belize. The 200+ acre property offers stunning views, hiking trails directly from the lodge, guided hikes, activities and Mayan inspired cuisine that was phenomenal with a lovely coffee bar to have a latte overlooking the gardens in the morning. Our hiking guide was Vian who was incredibly knowledgeable about the ecosystem, animals and history of Belize. We stayed in the fire watch tower which was so beautiful walking 4 stories of stairs to get to the suite with a kitchenette and a balcony overlooking the forest. The bed felt like a cloud and the morning visits of birds was really cool. The cocktails are true mixology with fresh juices and herbs from the garden. All food is farm to table. We will definitely return. I recommend to book directly with the hotel and coordinate canoeing horse back bird watching all the things. Make sure you do the half day wilderness tour with lunch at a waterfall. Stunning. Truly my favorite resort in the country.

We had a wonderful family vacation at Hidden Valley. Our Wilderness Terra Suite was incredible, with a private plunge pool and a spacious porch overlooking the forest reserve. It quickly became our favorite place to relax.Butterfly Falls became our favorite hike and waterfall on the property. We loved walking the trails with no one in sight and swimming in the falls with no crowds, just us and nature. Traveling with our 6-month-old baby felt easy and stress-free, which meant so much to us. Kenny took such great care of us throughout our stay. His service was truly amazing.

We couldn’t be happier with our decision to stay at Hidden Valley Mountain Lodge. ||The lodge offers an incredible range of experiences—from exceptional farm-to-table dining and cooking classes to guided tours and hikes with truly world-class scenery. There are multiple waterfalls on the property (we visited three), each with beautiful pools at the base where you can swim. Because the waterfalls are exclusive to lodge guests, we had all three completely to ourselves. ||The staff were extraordinary. What stood out just as much was how the staff took the time to get to know us and share their culture, the local history, and life in Belize.||Accommodations were great!||The food was exquisite. The menu is an elevated take on traditional Mayan cuisine. Tortillas are made fresh, eggs come straight from the chickens, and most ingredients are truly farm-to-table, sourced from farms about 20 minutes away. The chef personally introduced himself and shared his inspiring story of honoring his grandmother while preserving Mayan culinary traditions. The serving and kitchen teams described each dish with pride and care. One evening, Seville shared a story about a Michelin-star chef who planned to stay just one night, loved the food so much that he stayed for an entire week. The lodge’s restaurant has since won Restaurant of the Year, and it’s easy to understand why.||Thank you, Hidden Valley. We can’t wait to come back—and we’ll be telling all our friends.

We spent Christmas week here on a last minute booking and it was a magical experience! ||First, the food is UNBELIEVABLE. It is world class cuisine. We ate every meal at the restaurant because the food was fresh, hyper local, perfectly spiced, and inventive. Everything from chorizo, lamb, tilapia, and the cocktails were outstanding. The chef Sean and sous Joshua were welcoming and we learned a lot about local and Mayan cuisine. ||We also had an amazing experience in the cascade villa (which is basically a house)—KENNY was our incredible helper and he would pick us up (it’s detached from the main lodge) via a cell phone they gave to us for our time there. ||During the week there was a Mayan traditional ceremony for Xmas Eve and an entire roasted pig under ground served in the outdoor restaurant. ||We booked a number of off site tours and were able to move things around due to the rain. The horseback riding and Caracol tours were very fun but pretty tiring and I think you need to be in decent shape to do them.||We booked this on an whim and it turned out to be an incredible visit, despite rain all week. Thank you!

WOW. Just WOW. We booked a trip where we spent several days in at Hidden Valley and several days on the beach. When the time came to transfer, we were sad to leave and wish we could have stayed. * The food was THE BEST we have ever eaten anywhere- no contest. It was seasoned just right and cooked to perfection. I joked with Chef Sean that he needs to write a cookbook. Our only regret from vacation is not knowing about the cooking class they offered. * The staff was friendly, happy and very attentive. Little observations like keeping our fire going in the lodge without being asked was wonderful. Each room has a fireplace which was a great surprise. * We had 1 guide from the lodge take us on 3 excursions. We cannot say enough about what a great experience we had with Vian Santiago. The property tour was interesting, and he knows a lot about the ecology of the area. If you do the hike to Rainbow Falls or the lunch by the private fall and swimming pool- wear tennis shoes or hiking boots due to a steep incline. The private lunch by the waterfall and swimming hole was very romantic and a great atmosphere. Highly recommend. He also took us to Caracol and Nohoch Che'en cave tubing- both of which we loved.
