Hideaway Beach Resort and Spa

I was in Hideaway for 5 days, it was a pricey but very worth it experience. It had 4 restaurants and each hat a huge selection of food. The staff was super friendly and helpful, always there when needed. If you happen to be there on a Friday there will be limited buggy services but there will be a nice and happy performance by the staff. The rooms were massive with a huge bathroom, small kitchen,pool and direct access to the ocean( Water Villa). It is also a very kid-friendly resort as it has a variety of activities that kids enjoy, and it also has a kids club with a playground and aircon. It is a resort that I can literally live in.

We visited Hideaway Maldives a few weeks ago for our honeymoon. The island is truly beautiful and the scenery is breathtaking, but unfortunately the service from certain staff members really let our experience down. Communication was poor. One evening we had an excursion booked, got ready, and went to reception only to be told it was cancelled with no prior notice. The next day, I had been messaging for updates constantly so as to not have a repeat of the day prior, but they didn't even update us until after the allotted time for the excursion - we were just left wondering whether it would happen or not. This was very disappointing, especially as activities must be booked in advance and we were only there for a few days. The staff showed little empathy and offered no alternatives for the paid excursions that were cancelled. When we contacted the General Manager, he initially said he could not help and advised us to speak with our travel agent. Once our agent raised a complaint, the response completely changed. Suddenly the GM was attentive, alternatives were offered, and the staff provided amazing service for the rest of our stay. It left us wondering why that level of care and attention was not there from the start. Guests pay a lot of money and come here for once-in-a-lifetime trips like honeymoons, and they deserve consistent kindness and respect throughout. Special thanks to Ali and Shahid, who were wonderful throughout and made every dining experience memorable. The island is beautiful, but the service needs to match it from the beginning.

I had an absolutely wonderful time at the spa. The atmosphere was calm and relaxing, and the massage was truly excellent. The staff were very kind and attentive, especially Ariani and Dui, who made me feel completely comfortable and well taken care of. I left feeling refreshed and rejuvenated — highly recommended!

Booked 7 nights in an overwater pool bungalow and selected “pay AT hotel” option on Expedia. I have travelled to over 15 countries and always select the option to pay at the hotel. Never once have I been asked to pay a whole month in advance when selecting this option.. except for when I booked Hideaway. The engage in deceptive business practices and falsely advertise the option to pay the hotel but then threaten to cancel your stay if you don’t pay the full amount up front. They were also doing a promotion for a free round trip domestic flight for 2 on stays 7 nights or more. We tried to book our complimentary flights and were told the earliest they could get us to the island was 11pm and that we would have to stay at the airport for over 6 hours. I have been to the Maldives 3 times and the airport is very old and run down and the bathrooms are atrocious. Not a very nice start to a “luxury” experience with hideaway. My travel agent was also telling me I dodged a bullet as they like to not refund people for double charges and charge them for tap water as per her other clients that have stayed here. I ended up cancelling my trip and have gone with a much more reputable hotel.

We travelled as a family with four kids (4, 11, 12 and 14 years old), and this resort exceeded every expectation!||VILLA:|Our Signature Villa was enormous. Four huge bedrooms, each with a full closet and a giant bathroom, plus an extra nanny room which would easily qualify as a master bedroom in most hotels! The private pool is gigantic, and the kids’ absolute favourite was the slide – endless fun every day!||SERVICE:|The butler service truly works here. Majeed was amazing – super attentive, kind, and organized absolutely everything for us before we even asked. Thanks to him, everything was effortless.||BEACH & OUTDOORS:|The beach next to the Signature Villas is stunning: long, wide, and incredibly private because it’s far from the non-signature area. Soft sandbanks, crystal-clear water, and total peace.||FUN FOR KIDS:| • Wibit Water Park kept them entertained for hours.| • Water Sports Center: Extremely friendly staff, and the kids tried everything – even the jetcar.| • Sports Centre: Tennis, padel, pickleball, basketball, volleyball… but the surprise highlight was the golf simulator, which they absolutely loved.||RESTAURANTS:|There are five proper restaurants on the island — not just themed rooms with one kitchen. Real variety and great quality.| • Oasis is a separate restaurant for Signature Villas, with a beautiful pool and quiet atmosphere.| • Methafaaru (main buffet): Our waiter Mujey was incredibly kind and patient. Managing four kids is not always simple, but he made our meals smooth and enjoyable.||SPECIAL MENTION:|The Halloween party was fantastic — beautiful setup, great food, live music, costumes, and every detail was perfectly made for families.||⸻||IN SUMMARY:|✅ Large island — lots of privacy|✅ Huge villa perfect for big families|✅ Private beach for Signature Villas|✅ Excellent sand & reef|✅ Truly kids-friendly for all ages||A few things to know:| • Far from Malé| • Non-signature part is a bit outdated| • Premium price—but worth every cent||Final verdict:|A real dream vacation for families. We will absolutely return!

An absolutely beautiful destination for our honeymoon. Here the staff were all very attentive, kind, and caring. A few people who made our stay a special time include Shahin our butler who was available and responded promptly, helped us with all our requests, and made sure everything was perfect, Faisal our housekeeper, ismail who helped us plant a beautiful tree, and shahid who always checked in on us during breakfast and dinner. The spa and treatments we received are unforgettable. We will always remember this vacation and the the impressionable people with kind hearts.

The resort was nice, they delivered everything they promised. The villa was as expected. The island was beautiful. The kids enjoyed the kids club. We were impressed with the quality of food at Mathefaru restaurant. Shahid our waiter and Heba our butler were excellent. I highly recommend this hotel and will be coming again!

Our Sunset Beach Villa was perfect for our stay, with amazing snorkelling spot just offf the beach! The Hideaway staff are amazing! They really make the stay next level. Food at Samsara is delicious, spa is glorious and happy hour is a must do at Meeru Bar or Sunset beach cafe. The Matheefaru breakfast and dinner is sensational, I especially enjoyed the breakfast cheese selection and Safar, Adi and Cintya took great care of us, their service was exceptional!
