The staff are so friendly. They are all related to my friend Jason. The customer service is excellent. Rooms are very spotless. Best place in Vanuatu for snorkeling. Even if you're not a strong swimmer, the staff make sure you're safe in the shallow water.

We had a very relaxing day at Hideway Island. Excellent service, light snacks were ok, beer was cold and snorkeling was enjoyable. Trip too and fro was short and easy.|Costs AUD20 day pass which is well worth it. |Trip from Port Villa was rattly which is part and parcel and costs AUD 15 in a Taxi one way (negotiable).

We had an unforgettable 2 nights on Hideaway Island and we left wishing we had more time there. From the moment we arrived at the airport to the day we left we were welcomed so warmly by Stella, Louisa and the team at Hideaway. We were lucky enough to have the whole island to ourselves at night once the day trippers left - what an experience! The bungalows are simple but clean and comfortable. Even when it rained heavily one night we felt dry and safe, the staff even dropped off suprise unbrellas for us to use to walk to dinner. The snorkelling to the left of the furthest pontoon is INSANE - you feel like you are on the “set” of Finding Nemo. Thousands of different types of fish everywhere. We ate on the island both nights - the fish curry is delicious! And you have the beautiful sound of the ladies in the kitchen laughing together while they cook in the background. If you want a relaxing, simple, castaway island feel holiday with some comforts from home while being cared for by the sweetest people on the planet then you can’t beat Hideaway. You’ll pinch yourself the whole time.

We stayed 3 nights. The villa was clean and the local staff are lovely. But the manager was rude. Most of the menu was unavailable. No fresh fruit even thought the market is full of fruit. The beach is disappearing. However there are still beautiful fish to see and the kids loved playing on kayaks. The island is a shadow of its former self. What is going on ? There seems to be a manager who wants it to fail. We were the only overnight guests for 2 of the 3 nights. We did one dive which was gorgeous. Thank you long ol lokol staffs.

Came over for a day to snorkel and I think it was the best place to snorkel in Vanuatu that we went to. Most coral and fish. I also saw hermit crabs, star fish, sea cucumbers, crabs and a brown sea eel or snake (?) in the rocks trying to catch the crabs. The beach is primarily old coral so very hard to walk on without shoes. Bring your own snorkel else you’ll need 750vuv. Lunch and drinks were a reasonable price despite risk of resort prices. Under water post office is a cute little novelty. It rained while we were there, which was a shame, but didn’t really impact the snorkelling.

Great place to come and snorkel, they have a good setup beach bar for drinks and snacks and then well laid out snorkel areas with platform to rest on if needed. Lots of reefs and many fish

My family have been going to Hide away island for over 20 years. Our last visit was July 2024. How very disappointed we were. The new owners have put concrete every where ,its not only very dangerous but looks so terrible, completely ruins the once pristine environment. The new entry prices to the island have now made it un affordable for a family including the increases to food and beverages. The new owner was there when we were there with his extended family and was very rude to not only us but to his staff as well. We had ordered food and while we were waiting he ordered food for his family of about 15 people, needless to say his family was fed first so we waited over 2 hours for our order. What's going on !!! I recommend hideaway to everyone, but no more.So very sad about this,we will not go back to hideaway.

This resort is pictured on most Vanuatu advertising posters. The resort is located on a small island. You can get there by ferry, which runs almost 24 hours a day. You can leave your car on the shore for free. The airport is very close, and this is a good place for the first and last night. The beaches for swimming are not ideal, but the diving is good. Food is available in a local restaurant, in a limited selection. There is a freshwater pool.
