Beautiful and relaxing place. We stayed here for one night, the room was nice and clean. Part of the accommodation is a large spacious garden, full of greenery, flowers, a chill zone together with a restaurant and a bar. There is also a beautiful new swimming pool, with pleasant warm water for swimming. This whole place is such an oasis of peace and harmony. Beautiful place.

Hideaway Lodge was a real find! It has a private location with friendly and helpful staff. The food there is amazing. They just recently finished renovating their own pool. The location is really close to the ocean. You can walk along a deserted beach for kilometers and see wild turtles hatch. The village is small and quiet there, so no one will bother you. 9.5/10

Located around 200m to the beach where it is unsafe to swim as it is wide open to the Indian ocean swells but there are safer locations. The staff are friendly & helpful.|My double delux room was a decent size, clean & well appointed. The aircon & ceiling fan were quiet & the tv worked well. Couple of bench furniture & bench space either side of the bed. A clothes rack in lieu of a wardrobe. The small red bulk fridge will only accept small items.|The bed linens were clean & I had a comfortable sleep. Power points either side of the bed but note one is 3 flat prong & the other 3 round prong.|The bathroom was a wetroom but a good size so only the area around the shower became wet. Good hot water & pressure.|The restaurant food I had mixed feelings. The breakfast was selecting western choices from a menu. I was content with an omelet & 2 small sausages, mixed fruit & juice. My dinner choices were good with the exception of the fried chicken & chips. The chicken was dry & tough. I woukd recommend giving it a wide berth. I felt the prices were a bit pricey but your a captive audience if you don't have your own transport.|They provide their own tuk tuk for tours & general hire.|Overall, I had a comfortable stay.|Tip: If you book direct you will get a better price than online.

was following Hideaway on instagram months before going to thangalla and I wondered if it would live up to the hype. Well....it did, in an even better way than I expected. I wasn't staying there but I went in for a morning yoga class (the best I had in all my journey), followed by delicous food and finally, a goooodddd coffee!! It was also the perfect place to come and have a drink around happy hour, and stay and make friends until the last call ;) The staff is super nice , It was great just to relax, barefoot in the green , and watch the turtle, near to beach where you can find Rock pool for swimming. |perfect harmony. A little haven, really. Not pretentious at all. I also treated myself to a ayurvedic massage owner Manju was helping me to arrange it was great (and legit). You must take time to discover this place. Stutti to everyone at Hideaway xxxxMore

Away from the hustle and bustle of Tangalle, Hideaway Lodge is a real find. The location is a short walk to an open, attractive beach. Unfortunately it's not safe to swim, but pleasant to walk along. The small lake on the property hosts a variety of birdlife, and the deck over the lake is a wonderful place to have breakfast or a quiet drink.|Our room was comfortable and spacious. |Ranga and the other staff were very helpful and friendly and made us feel very welcome. They were happy to accommodate my gluten free diet too.

Came initially for four days and stayed for a further seven days. Very peaceful and quiet adjoining a large lagoon with an abundance of wildlife. Large variety of bird species, aquatic life is also varied, monitors and large numbers of fish can be observed.|The rooms are very clean, linen is changed daily together with the towels, water is always hot. Staff are always at hand to be of any assistance.|The meals are great with staff catering to each individual. Choice of western or local cuisine.|There is transport available to visit the town centre, tours of the region can be organised.|I highly recommend hideaway lodge with our experience here.

I have stayed here many times. it is run by a family that has very good experience in running such spaces. the rooms are spacious and well kept. the property is very safe for solo female travelers as well. they have a small restaurant, but if you are a foodie, you can explore the variety of restaurants in the area, including one that is by the beach, owned by the same family. this property is by the lagoon and not the sea. the beach is a short 5 min walk away. it is silent and you can explore the local village and go for long nature walks.

I stayed with my family about two nights in four rooms in the Hideaway Lodge. The rooms are okay for the pricing. The towels and bed sheets were washed but stained. On First appearence it’s clean, but then I found hair on the bed. The bigger problem were the cockroaches we had in two of the rooms. One I found in our bed in the night just next to the head of my infant. In case of that, they got a big cleanlyness issue. When I spoke about this with the staff and hotel manager, they didn‘t really react except a small „Sorry“. I can‘t recommend.
