A beautiful historic market hall with a warm and inviting atmosphere. Inside you'll find a great mix of local delicacies, fresh produce, and unique artisan products. It's a wonderful place to taste traditional Finnish foods - from salmon soups to fresh pastries - and discover specialty items you won't find in regular stores. Many stalls are run by friendly vendors who are happy to share stories and recommendations. Perfect for a relaxed lunch, picking up gifts, or simply enjoying the charm of a classic Helsinki market.

I love food halls and this one didnt disappoint. Got food from the Japanse shop and I loved it. Got a full bowl full of flavor and tea, coffee and water was all included, just like the chili oil to add, which was amazing. The hall itself looked nicely, too bad most shops were closed on a Sunday.

I’m glad I made it to the market. We tried the Tokyo street spot and it was excellent. I recommend the salmon teriyaki noodles.

Great food hall with excellent options. Lots of Asian cousine, dumplings, Raman, Pho, etc. Pizza as well for simplicity.

Nice food court, several interesting restaurants

Really beautiful market hall, now featuring a variety of street food stalls. We were a bit disappointed to find most of the stalls closed 40 minutes before the advertised time, though.

This market was within a 5 min walk of our Airbnb. It was such a great market to have close by. We had a few tasty meals here and several delicious coffees during our stay. Highly recommend a visit when in Helsinki.

After struggling as antiques market the current concept as food court seems to work okay. The quality of the food in restaurants varies quite a lot. We often go to Mama’s Pho for Vietnamese food. The place is nicest in the summer with the terrace with sea view.

Yelp
When Jamie W. and I ventured to Helsinki this past year, we had no idea where to stroll as we braced ourselves for the brisk Nordic climate. The irony is that it's genuinely easy to traverse the city center. The Yelp app plus the city's enormously efficient public transit certainly helped us to get to some interesting spots like this food hall which has a distinctly American vibe to it. Of course, my bias probably comes from being an American, but it did remind me of Chelsea Market in NYC, Pike Place Market in Seattle, and as Autumn mentioned, the Ferry Building in San Francisco. It's full of mostly culinary vendors reflecting how diverse the Finnish palate is. It wasn't crowded when we entered the hall, but you could tell the most popular spots among the locals were Street Gastro where they serve up specialty sandwiches, Stadin Herkut with their Mediterranean and Middle Eastern delicacies (photo: http://bit.ly/2kDMSTD), Robert's Coffee (photo: http://bit.ly/2jSR79e), and Fat Ramen where we ended up for lunch (review: http://bit.ly/2ldBlqC). The atmospheric hall opened in 1903, although it went through several iterations before becoming a food hall just five years ago. Definitely worth a stop.

Yelp
This is Helsinki's answer to The Ferry Building in my native SF. Much like my condo location in SF, I live just near here on Bulevardi. I frequent the flea market because I'm cheap like that. I buy my produce at the Kauppahalli because I'm not cheap like that. The produce is beautiful, there is a huge array of sweets, treats, and food stalls/cafes. The cupcake lady, the Spanish delicacy stand, and the juice bar are favorites. Robert's coffee is not. But that's my bone to pick and I'll review where a review is due: on their Yelp page. I have it on good authority that Roslun makes the best burgers in town (I'm a vegetarian) and that the ramen shop is pretty good too. I can vouch for the French Cafe and the classic Finnish cafeteria in the back. They are the only place that has baby seats. That's good to know if you have a kid who needs one of those. This is the perfect place to go as a local (for the staples and some treats or a quick lunch/snack out with friends away from the city center) or tourists (it is teeming with them in the Summer). It's a go-to for friends visiting from out of town; flea market then market hall = a good 3 hours of your day knocked out in one small space. Highly recommend the fresh fruits and veggies, meats, fish, cheese, breads, pastries, and sweets. The kitschy tourist-y stuff can be good too. I really like the olive oil soaps that one of the stalls sells. Overall, I am really thankful they're here and so close to home. Because a girl can live on cucumber, tomatoes, and apples from S Market for only so long ;)

Yelp
Food selection is rather poor here. A couple ramen places, Italian, burger, or expensive soup. The building is nice but the vibe is sort of dead. If you're going to visit a kauppahalli, go to Vanha or Hakaniemen instead.

Yelp
We were hoping to hit the flea market, but it was closed for some street racing abomination. We stopped in and had a burger at the place at the south end. Delicious, but costly. Cows don't live in Finland apparently. We ate upstairs which was nice. Pro tip: there is a free toilet downstairs, which is super nice. Surprising decor. Check it out.

Yelp
Nice place. Seems to be bit more cafes and restaurants than what is typical in Finnish market halls
