Hietalahti Market

The market in Helsinki is a vibrant and colorful place, located right on the waterfront with stunning views. At this market, you can find a wide variety of delicious local specialties. Naturally, fish and seafood are the stars – raw, smoked, or salted, as well as caviar. You’ll also find unique delicacies like reindeer and even bear meat. You can buy these treats to take home or enjoy them right there, which is exactly what I did. The marinated herring I tried was simply outstanding, and paired with a glass of local beer, it was a perfect culinary experience. This market is not just a place to shop, but a chance to immerse yourself in Helsinki’s authentic flavors and atmosphere. Highly recommended for any food lover!

Had a bit of everything. Clothing, glass wear, old silverware, jewelry, sunglasses, antiques. It was fun to shop here. Not as big as i expected and it's cash only.

Looking for the next refreshment stop, I went to Hietalahti Market which is a bustling culinary hub offering a unique shopping experiencing with local produce and Finnish delicacies, artisan crafts and gourmet foods. While I was there I stopped for a coffee.

Loved the detail in the stalls. Great looking produce and had a good lunch here.

From outside the building itself looks dead but as soon as you enter, you will find it super lovely and warmly decorated! Decent variety of the food and good price. I was there during lunch time on weekdays, quiet and relaxing. would be fun to check out on weekend evenings!

I love Hietalahti Market and have been visiting it for years. The vendors there are all excellent. I am not sure if it was just the day that I went but more than half the places were closed which was sad to see.

Beautiful old market recently renovated. Great place to go through in Finland. The food looks good, especially the fish, but as you go in the shop there are also some imported fine foods. No worries. Upstairs is full of nice gifts and souvenirs.
