A stylish wagashi shop mainly selling beautifully packaged gift boxes, but they also offer seasonal sweets, steamed buns, and soy sauce dango that you can enjoy standing just outside the store.

Serving traditional Japanese sweets, this small shop offers a good variety of eye-catching individual and packaged treats. Everything about the store is beautifully presented and staff are friendly. I ordered the mitarashi dango みたらし団子 and unfortunately it didn't meet expectations. The flavour with the sweet soy glaze was good, but overall the mochi didn't seem fresh and was not that soft and smooth. If it was fresher, I would try again but the one I got wasn't great, and I'm not sure whether this is the norm or I got an old batch.

Gorgeous treats, wrapped beautifully and very subtle in taste. I loved everything I tried here, especially the dates with fermented butter.

Cute little shop! I tried the persimmon with butter inside, and the set of chocolates/ beans! Super tasty and creative, and packaging is so thoughtful - perfect for a gift, but you do have to eat it pretty quickly. Like other Japanese sweets, they’re not too sweet and have subtle flavors. Staff recommends to eat same day, or at least refrigerate immediately. They gave me a couple of ice packs for the road!

Loved the hidden location. Shop was quaint and staff were polite. However, found the mochi subpar. We tried the walnut and red bean mochi - mine was unexpectedly salty!

This is definitely a hidden gem. Their service is impeccable and the warabi mochi is a must try! It is so soft it melts in your mouth. They have a steamer in the shop where they steam their famous mini buns. Do drop by if you are in Tokyo. U will not be disappointed.

One of the best sweets to try. The place is cute, small and might go unnoticeable, yet it is highly recommended for light snacks. Several varieties of tastes. Red bean is good. Nice and warm service

The design is perfection. Small place but absolutely wowed by the packaging & design. Lots of sweet little baked, steamed goods. Staff speak good English too. Must visit

Yelp
Very small but popular Japanese confectionary store in Aoyama. The most popular item Daifuku (mochi with beans) and mitarashi (dango with sweet soy sauce) were sold out by the time I got there. Everything looked beautiful and like gems. Seasonal Mizu Yokan in bamboo were very refreshing and had the perfect sweetness. All the little gem looking items in a box were very delicate and interesting. The price...well...is expensive expectedly for the location. But I think their items are so classy and great for gifts, something different. A lot of their items are chilled so you might wanna bring a little insulated bag and ice packs or you can buy those at the store for an extra charge.

Yelp
A tiny but really neat Japanese sweets (wagashi) shop in Aoyama. This place is small. Maybe max of 5 people inside the store at one time. They only have 2 branches; this one and a bigger store in Ginza. They used to have a place in Azabu, that that closed. They specializes on sweets made with dried fruits. The store name "Haigashiya" means fried snacks. This branch has "Man" after the name, because they carry "Manju". I enjoy buying "Omiyage" (gifts) from here, because they are less known than places you find in Depa-Chika (B1 Floor of department stores). Wrapping is pretty and neat as well, which makes it a perfect gift. What to buy: Manju is this branch's specialty, but other delicacies are neat as well. Expiration date for Manju is short, so other snacks are better as gifts.

Yelp
I don't normally eat sweets, but the delicate desserts here are so lovely and delicious I have to visit this shop every time I'm in Tokyo. They have dango as well. Great place to pick up a gift for someone, but most of their stuff needs to be eaten right away to taste good. Definitely worth a stop if you're shopping in Omotesando. There's also a location in Ginza but it's not open every day.
