My goodness, this place is a must stop and make sure you have an appetite. My brunch was delicious. I’d have to say the best lunch I’ve had since being in NZ. Hot smoked salmon, soft shell crab and papaya salad on a charcoal bun. Delicious. Staff really lovely and well presented.

High Country Salmon serves incredibly fresh and delicious sashimi, sushi, and salmon kebabs. However, it's best to arrive early as most food was sold out by 2pm, and the cafe kitchen had already closed, leaving only display options. The seating area is spacious with a lovely view of the salmon farm, and the staff were very friendly

Conveniently located along the highway in the Mackenzie District. Our lunch was an excellent experience. The scenery was beautiful 🤩 So fun to watch and feed the live salmons. The food was amazing. Fresh glacier water bred salmons with lots of variations

My trip to High Country Salmon in Twizel was an absolute highlight of my time in New Zealand! It wasn't just about the delicious salmon (though that was incredible), it was the whole experience. First off, the location itself is stunning. Picture this: crystal-clear turquoise waters fed by glaciers, surrounded by the dramatic mountains of the Mackenzie Country. It's like something out of a movie. We started by checking out the salmon farm. It was fascinating to learn about their sustainable practices and how they raise their salmon in the pristine glacial waters. You can really tell they care about quality and the environment. Of course, the main event was the food! We had lunch at Logan's, their floating cafe. Talk about a view! Sitting right on the water, surrounded by that scenery, was just magical. And the salmon? Oh my goodness. So fresh, so flavorful. I had the salmon sashimi and it literally melted in my mouth. My partner went for the classic fish and chips and said it was the best they'd ever had. After lunch, we couldn't resist trying our hand at catching our own salmon. It was so much fun! We didn't have any luck, but the excitement and the laughs were worth it. Plus, you can buy fresh or smoked salmon from their shop to take home, so we didn't leave empty-handed. High Country Salmon is definitely a must-do if you're in the Twizel area. It's a unique and unforgettable experience, with delicious food, stunning scenery, and friendly people. I can't wait to go back!

The salmon is so fresh, it feels like it’s swimming in my mouth—just kidding, but seriously, it’s incredibly fresh and absolutely delicious! I visited during the New Year holiday period, and although the café was quite busy, the staff worked tirelessly to ensure everything ran smoothly. Huge thanks to the team for their hard work and excellent service!

Nice place by the water to have a light meal. Aside from seeing the fish swimming, there's not too much to do with the salmon though. There are apparently fish feeding and fish catching activities you can pay for and participate in, but I didn't see anyone doing them at all.

Great food! Sashimi is really fresh! We missed the seafood chowder which was sold out by noon when we are there. So go early! There is fish farm there too and you can feed it!

We reach nearing to their closure timing, so most of the food were sold out. The salmon was fresh and nice. Good environment too. Wind is a little too big for their outdoor seats.
