Very great experience here! All items were delicious, dedicated wait staff, our waitress was a younger blonde woman who was new to the Rooftop bar and we spoke to a younger female manager, both very kind on a Saturday night. Don’t skip on the pimento fritters, though I preferred them with ranch while my wife liked them with the spicy jam. Great birthday experience, they made it very special.

Great place with lots of room to hang out with friends and such. Menu items were fairly basic, but my burger 🍔 was well under par. The pizza 🍕 was very good. Our waiter never returned to ask how things were going, nor did he notice that I didn't eat most of my burger, so that was disappointing. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here again. 🙄

Wife and I spent several days leading into the New Year at The Chattanoogan (would definitely recommend the hotel) and the High Rail Rooftop Bar was definitely one of the highlights. We lucked up and chose an evening where the main bartender was the one who created many of the cocktails on the menu. Yes, we tried multiple drinks and all were delicious!! And definitely give the Buffalo cauliflower bites a try…wont be disappointed!

The ambiance is amazing! The view, food, service, and beauty is great. I appreciate Austin taking our order and explaining everything to us was good stuffies. Mick helped out as well with a smile when they forgot our salad. We ordered the fish tacos and the burger. The pics do not do this justice. Thank you!!!!

We made reservations far in advance for a large bridal party dinner (15 people) on a week night. When our party arrived the restaurant was empty though they still had us split up- this restaurant is not suited for large parties as there was only one large table that fit half our group and the other half had to sit at lounging chairs. We later moved to the bar to have a table. Additionally the staff was ill prepared for our group- orders were taken randomly and food came out randomly and spaced out, so some people were done with food while others had their appetizers arrive. Finally, the bartender was initially not very friendly & said she didn’t want us to “wander off” implying that we would dine and dash. To top it off - the bride and groom were the very last to get their food - AFTER the rest of the party had finished their meal. The menu is not very extensive - look in advance to see if it’s something you’d spend $20 on for a mid plate of food. Atmosphere is enjoyable and the outdoor area! The ambience and music is good. Our time here would have been more enjoyable seated together so we could enjoy each other’s company in this beautiful restaurant. Wish our experience was a little different and we could have enjoyed our celebratory meals together and at the same time.

While staying at the Chattanoogan for a quick getaway, my wife and I really enjoyed the rooftop atmosphere, the food and service was really good! Be prepared to eat alot, the serving size of the food was well more than we ever could have expected! Flavor of food and service was just as amazing as the laid back atmosphere we were able to enjoy. There Was an event the weekend we attended and the restaurants including the rooftop wasn't crowded at all. Thanks again Mick for a great experience, your service was top notch! We really enjoyed ourself. We will be back again for sure!

While staying at the Chattanoogian Hilton Curio, we had two delightful, after sunset visits to the High Rail Rooftop Bar. Drinks were excellent, as were the other menu items tasted. Don’t miss the peanut butter brownie cheesecake. The view from the bar tops is pleasant and the atmosphere is relaxing. Ask about the bartenders drink special—the blueberry lavwnder mojito was surprisingly refreshing. Excellent, attentive and professional service. The bar is a little tricky to locate—it’s on the second floor, down a cooridor of sleeping rooms near the gym.

Had a late dinner here a week ago. The facility is pretty cool set on the roof top. The service however was very poor. I ordered an old fashioned and waited 20+mins to get it. We waited a long time for our main course as well, even though the restaurant wasn't super busy. Our wait staff were pleasant but just weren't attentive to our table. Food was okay, nachos were kind of cold, my wago beef burger was pretty good. A lot of lounge seating. More of a bar than a restaurant. I wouldn't bother going back. When a restaurant has a captive market being in bed with the hotel they often don't have to try hard to stay busy and unfortunately it effects the service.

Yelp
Nice little place if you're staying at the hotel. I'm sure it's nice when the weather is warm. Has an area for playing games. Drinks are good. Food could be better.

Yelp
Had some drinks on the rooftop bar of our hotel - it was a lovely night, the decor and lights on the roof are beautiful and make for a very nice ambiance. They also have fires and couches which add to the vibe. Unfortunately we got there around 10:30pm so the kitchen had already closed, but it looked like there were some great options listed on the menu! Our drinks were alright - we got the Cactus Lily and Sangria, not our most favorite cocktails based on taste and flavor, but we really came for the overall ambiance so that was nice

Yelp
Margherita pizza is incredible! Logan provided great suggestions and was very knowledgeable about food and cocktail menu. Nice patio setting as well.

Yelp
Great spot and atmosphere. Didn't get crowded while there but seems like it could be a popular spot. Appetizers were great. Inside and outside seating.

Yelp
I came here and it was pretty empty. The spot is nice and the staff was nice as well. Their drinks are pretty good but the food was pretty mid. The pizza was too greasy and the dip was a bit too runny for my preference. I'd more so recommend coming here for drinks !

Yelp
Nice ambience but horrible service and the wait between glimpses of our server was eras. Food is ok- nothing special. Won't go again. Managers need to get it together, as locals that book events for big groups it a no for us to ever use this place.

Yelp
Went for my sisters birthday, it looked super cute and we're excited about a rooftop bar. We ordered drinks and food right when we got there. Everyone got their drinks, but mine didn't come and our waiter didn't come back to check for 20 minutes. Had to ask again, another 20 go by, and he said the bar was backed up- 40+ min for a margarita. Then we waited close to 2 hours and still no food- we had to cancel the order. When we asked about our order, our waiter said it would be another thirty minutes for our pizzas. The DJ was also incredibly loud- he was playing club music at 5pm on a Sunday. We won't ever go again, and we love eating out!

Yelp
I came here late one night after my boyfriend broke up with me, heartbroken and lonely, and had the best experience! Coming here was the best decision ever, my whole night was instantly better. My server, Bella, took pity on me and chatted with me about my stupid ex. I now owe her a kiss on the lips. She told me to look to the future, and eat some good food, and all will be okay. The ambiance was so comforting and chill, and everyone else was so friendly! The cactus lily was by far the best drink, and I would know brcause I ordered one of everything.

Yelp
Pros: brisket pizza, nice rooftop vibes, friendly bartenders Cons: flavorless fish tacos, dirty martini was not good, only a few actual tables to sit at other than the bar

Shawn M.

Yelp
Good craft beer selection. Pizza was really good, nice char on the crust. Sat at the bar at and a customer shared a piece of pizza.

Yelp
Last dinner while in Chattanooga and this place did not let us down. THe service was excellent, followed by great food for a very reasonable price, then a DJ. I wish I could attach a video because HE WAS FIRE!!!! I would highly recommend the elote dip, Korean beef kimchi fries and deviled eggs. All were delicious, especially the elote dip Please come by here in an evening for food and fun.

Yelp
On October 25, I had made a reservation for a party of 7. When we arrived we instantly got a table outside and were sat. Our waiter came out quickly and got our apps and drinks. Once our apps came out, everyone seemed to go downhill. The food was good and the ambiance was nice but we waited over and a half for 2 pizzas! We asked our waiter multiple times how much longer and he wouldn't really answer. Eventually after an hour and half he said at least 45 more minutes. It was insane! It wasn't packed and I saw plenty of servers. I wrote a review that night but I guess they deleted it.

Yelp
I'm a bit disappointed in this place. Our first visit was in feb 2022 and it was amazing. My son and has the best cheeseburger ever and my daughter had a super cheesy and the crust was soft and yummy. But this time the menu has completely changed the fries were OK and the pizza was next to nothing.. the crust was still good but as you can see our pizza was literally just sauce. Probably won't be coming back but the hotel is great.

Yelp
We ate here because it was a rooftop restaurant. The view was okay. Lots of natural light. It's a nice chill spot. Relaxing chairs around the tables. Has a lounge kind of feel. The food is mediocre. We ordered the burger, pork bao buns, and 2 Sangrias. Came out to $56 before tip. They must add on some extra fees, because they did not provide and itemized receipt. But the math does not add up for $15 burger, $16 pork bun, and 2 $9 sangrias. Unless there's a 20 percent tax. It was weird that the sides of the pork buns were toasted. Normally pork buns are steamed and fluffy. I'd probably go elsewhere for food.

Yelp
We were a party of seven. Waited a very, very, very long time for our food...pizzas, burgers, salad. The pizzas were terrible; the "salad" was greens only with a couple of cherry tomatoes and a bit of chopped onion. Period. The burgers and fries were good. Such a disappointing experience; but in the end, with the extreme delay and poor food preparation, our meals were on the house. We did leave the waitress, who was continually apologizing for our problems, a tip, since none of the shortfalls were her fault.

Yelp
Be prepared to be seated "past the rope" and forgotten about. We arrived and put our name on the waiting list and told there was a 30 minute wait. After waiting an hour we were told they were ready for us after getting up and saying something. THE MENU HAS CHANGED! I looked at other reviews and had decided I wanted the smash burger only to be told it wasn't on the menu anymore. When I tried to order a burger I was told you can't change how it comes because they are premade. We ordered sweet tea and it definitely wasn't sweet. When we said something about it we were told that they didn't have any sugar. My wife loved the burger and cheesecake!

Kathleen C.

Yelp
Too bad there weren't more people here, everything was so good. It would be fun place to hang out. Erica was a great server!!

Yelp
I ate here with my friends during Burger Week and it was such a great experience! I can't remember our waiter's name (Ishaan maybe?) but he was awesome. My burger was one of the best I've had, and our service was superb. Plus the atmosphere is unbeatable--a striking view of Lookout Mountain and a super cool patio!

Yelp
Nice indoor space but no shade outside leaving the space unusable for most of the year. Drinks were just ok and for the price I was left underwhelmed. We were there for brunch on a Sunday with very slow service despite a very small crowd. The French toast was a B+ however I should have order a side to go with it. The avocado toast was a D- with hardly any avocado "spread" on the toast with no actual pieces of avocado only arugula overflowing off the plate. Our friend ordered the smash burger and was underwhelmed by it as well. It had a strong clove flavor leaving it less than desirable. For this to be a new space I would have hoped for a lot better however it's your typical slow hotel food. They also used to have brunch appetizers however they since removed those from the menu leaving the food selection sparse. Overall scores Environment B Food C Service C

Yelp
The chef Daniel Walters here is underrated if rated less than 5+ stars, the menu is creative, took me out of chattanooga typical tastebuds to something a little more new. Expect this style and quality in Atlanta, New York, or L.A, but fir Chatt town very unexpected and refreshing. The porch sits above the Chattanoogan hotel and gives a cozy view of a Chattanooga sunset which we've enjoyed twice now. The only complaint I have is one I would not take away stars for because it not the staffs fault is the hours. This place should be open until midnight at minimum. That's what reminds you your still in Chattanooga and maybe that's the point. Regardless, we will support them as long as they are open and as long as they keep the quality we've seen so far. Honey cornbread.......5*......must try even if your allergic it's worth it as a last meal Brisket tacos.......5*......Daniel has mastered brisket High rail wedge.....5*.......perfect.!!!!!!

Yelp
I had high hopes for High Rail. I love interesting spaces and Outdoor dining. But, it comes out of the gate weakly as a new restaurant/bar in Chattanooga. The Space- There is indoor seating. It is currently well spaced out in light of Covid-19. There are high ceiling and floor to ceiling windows that provide a relaxing and open feel as you have a city obstructed view of the mountains. The outdoor space is well decorated but I was very disappointed that there was no shade, fans or misters. I'm Chattanooga, the outdoor seating will be unusable for 3-4 months of the year. The drinks I appreciate the restaurant trying hard to have a local focus. The beer menu is an excellent sampling of local beer. The wine menu is simple but well done. The cocktails were a little odd, over thought and under sold on the menu. The service The staff we had were very attentive, understood the menu and took great care of us. The food The food was decent, hotel bar food. It was all themes you could buy out of the freezer section at Costco. The Chicken and Waffles, pizza and the hamburger were solid B-/C+. The tofu bowl has so much liquid smoke it was hard to get past bite number two. Finally, the restaurant is hard to find. It is down a hall, across a courtyard and up some stairs.

Yelp
Went to this place due to it being outdoor dining. Was told that they do not offer outdoor service must dine in. That was a bummer. The food came out at a timely manner. I ordered 3 shrimp tacos it came with a side of baked beans (weird) but they were good. For dessert I had the strawberry short cake it was more like bread with strawberry sauce and ice cream on the side-- decent. I probably wouldn't visit again unless I stay at the hotel and is too lazy to go anywhere else. The food is just okay -- so is the service.

Yelp
Great time at High Rail! My wife and I had a rather bumpy first time coming here but we decided to return with a group of friends for some dinner and drinks before really kicking off our Friday night. It was spectacular and definitely changed our mind about how great this place is, really good food and drinks along with a real nice atmosphere!

Yelp
We had a fabulous time here! Our waiter, Mason, was very attentive and fun. He went out of the way to make sure we were happy customers - and we were! Thanks again Mason & the High Rail crew.

Yelp
We had a pretty terrible experience here this past weekend. We had a large party (25-30), and this was our first stop of many during our bar crawl. They were semi-busy, definitely not slammed, but the female bartender was so rude to us. She had major attitude, rolled her eyes, huffed, and told us drinks weren't available just so she didn't have to make them. Example - I ordered their mojito and she told me they were out of ingredients. The male bartender made the mojito for my friend who was at the other end of the bar. After attempting to order three different drinks and the bartender saying "we're out," I finally just gave up and got a beer. She missed out on major tips because of her attitude. Each of us would have easily tipped $5-7 on two drinks (x 25-30 people), and instead she ran half our crowd off. I probably won't give this restaurant another try based on similar reviews from others. It has a cool ambiance, but I'd rather go somewhere where my business is appreciated.

Yelp
To be truthful this place is a joke. Sign says wait for hostess to be seated- No Hostess! Also no menus on the premises...seriously ? They had to print more. I think the manager forgot it is Hamburger Week in Chattanooga and they are a participating vendor. Manager really put his staff in a sorry position. Another funny: Rooftop bar is only two stories up and no view.

Jennifer A.

Yelp
sitting here now for 15 minutes and it's like we are invisible. 3 waiters have passed us without a nod. Terrible service. Its not even busy.

Nanette D.

Yelp
The service was excellent but they were nt busy. My sister & I shared the BBQ Kimchi fries. Neither of us liked the Kimchi & wished we had requested thr fries without it as the parts we could eat & avoid the kimchi was delicious. I was thinking there would be a nice view as a rooftop bar but there really is no view as it is not up very high. Can only see the courtyard of the Chattanoogan hotel.

Yelp
This place was highly regarded in recommendations when visiting town. We had a group in town (6) for a busy weekend in town and smartly made reservations more than 72 hours in advance. We arrived to the establishment just to find out they did not have our CONFIRMED reservations and thus, they placed us in the back corner with a broken chair and two small tables. While accepting the fate, the business did not attend to us for more than 30 minutes (in which we left) and had no explanation. Our group even called and ask for service, just asking for a water, to no avail. This experience was enough for us to never go back, and to tell others, don't try it unless you're willing to suffer. Terrible.

Glen G.

Yelp
First time here. Service was great. Four in our party. Ordered two pizzas, bison sliders and teriyaki lettuce wraps. Amazing flavors and all loved the food. Two things. We will be back and will recommend to friends.

Stephen Henry H.

Yelp
Honestly, I've always had high hopes for this place, but every time I come here it take 17 hours to order literally a water.....a WATER. I've had different servers everytime and it's the same thing. So slow and not worth the time. I think I have finally given up on this place which I should have done the first time I came.

Katherine G.

Yelp
We stayed at the Chattanoogan hotel and enjoyed drinks and food daily at the High Rail, we did not have to go far to enjoy the delicious food and yummy cocktails! Aside from the restaurant the staff was incredible and were so quick to recommend their top choices with immaculate service. The High Rail is an absolute perfect addition to The Chattanoogan, you won't be disappointed!!

Stephanie L.

Yelp
Top 3 burger in my life. As of the day of eating this burger I'm 32. Top 3 burger. To the point I couldn't believe it. I say top 3 just to allow for the euphoria brain I'm still experiencing 24 hours later. Perfectly juicy. The toppings are fire. And I even went sans-cheese with it! No lie... top 3. Get into it with gusto.

Amanda P.

Yelp
High Rail was awesome! The staff was very friendly and attentive. Our server Haley was very kind, knowledgeable and super attentive. She made excellent menu recommendations!!! Also, the bartender Chandler was great! She makes a wonderful French 75 and also makes great drink recommendations! Perfect place for a date night. We will definitely be back soon!
