Walked in today not knowing what to expect and walked out with "Dry Heat" by Garth Glazier. If you a looking for something beyond the usual western Michigan gallery offerings like landscape scenes of cherry orchards, rolling hills, and fields then this gallery is for you.

Update 07/13 Another redesign of the arts within! New beautiful paintings of Michigan when you walk in. So much new art to view before you adopt a new sculpture or two! This is one of my favorite places in Traverse City. I love all the art from Michelle Tock. I've never seen anything like her work. Such amazing art here!

I love the diverse array of skilled and talented artists which are on display . Hands down, Higher Art Gallery is our regions best gallery. The owner works hard at keeping the gallery fresh , and always offering something completely different than anywhere else. The quality of art and the way it is presented is high. When visiting Traverse City , be sure to always make this a regular stop. Higher Art Gallery is an Art destination !

Lovely gallery! I enjoying browsing as if in a museum, looking at the diverse mediums. I really appreciated seeing unique sculptural pieces, beyond the standard painting and prints you see in other local galleries. I had to take one home. Only later did I read about the majority women artists represented. Awesome!

As a former owner of two galleries and former President of Board of Directors of an Art Museum in Oregon, I was delightfully impressed with the quality and diversity of this curators offerings. It's not easy to attract the best and then exhibit a pleasing representation of unrelated styles, approaches and mediums. I couldn't help myself and purchased a mixed media piece by Michelle Tock York. Congratulations to Higher Art Gallery and Shanny Brooke!

This is by far our favorite gallery in Traverse City. The owner has curated a well-thought, interesting collection of work from artists in diverse mediums. If you’re in the area this is definitely worth checking out!

I love Higher Art! I stumbled upon the gallery location before the exciting relocation to Front Street and found several pieces I took photos of as gifts for my mom (I needed to run them by my brother before purchase). After doing so, I contacted Shanny and she was so accommodating. She had them packaged up and ready for pick-up, and X-Mas 2020 was so special! I look forward to visiting the new location and finding more gifts for family, friends, and myself :) Thanks, Shanny!
