Highland Fine Wine

Today was my first time back in a while and a great reminder of how good this shop and its people are! I went in for a mix of gifts and things to bring to holiday gatherings and got terrific advice across sparkling, still, dessert and fortified wines—plus a recommendation for a new cocktail (holiday version of a porto tónico).

I simply don't see any reason to buy wine anywhere else. From the expertly curated selection in the shop to the often astonishing email deals, you just cant go wrong. The entire staff is professional, friendly, and exceptionally knowledgeable. Finally, they regularly run unique tastings of wines across the spectrum which are not to be missed.

Great selection and I love some of their deals and events through the email list. Also very nice that they do the Saturday tastings! I would come here more but it is a little far from me.

Such a great neighborhood wine shop. They have a large selection of wines in everyone’s price range which is great but the best part of this shop is how helpful the staff is! More than just being extremely friendly, they are very knowledgeable and helpful when picking me pick the right bottle of wine for dinner. I’ll go in and tell them what we’re having for dinner and ask them to pick me out a bottle for between $15-20 and they nail it every-time. I hope this shop never closes!!

Highland Fine Wine might be smaller than other locations, but that's part of the reason why I like it. Part of what makes the smaller selection better, to me, is the quality to quantity ratio and the staff being better informed about the inventory. If you're a wine novice- this is also a perfect shop for you: my favorite thing about Highland Wine is that the majority of bottles have a label under them displaying a sliding scale of what the wines are like: Sweet or dry, lots of tannin or no tannin, crisp or fruity, buttery or crisp, etc which can really help you navigate the wild world wines. Nicely located, good prices, friendly & knowledgeable staff, and I have yet to have a bottle I didn't enjoy. Wish every wine store had those labels- A+

Another great neighborhood store. Nick knows his wine and it shows in the selection. A true expert. The rest of his team is always helpful and are very knowledgeable as well. They even have a decent selection of small format wines. Parking can sometimes be a little tricky if the 2 reserved spots in front of the store are taken, but don't let that deter you, otherwise you'll miss out on an enjoyable visit and a great way to shift gears into the weekend.

Really happy to have such a great wine shop in our neighborhood. Their monthly wine club selections, the description cards they put on each bottle, and the staff’s knowledge and enthusiasm to help you discover wine is exactly what’s needed at a local wine shop. Highland Fine Wine is a perfect example of why you should support small businesses.

Beautiful selection from Europe, BUT this store is beyond my budget. I also found the staff though knowledgable not very helpful because I am still new too wine. I am open to new grapes and regions but when asking about a grape I have never tried I was given a comparison to something else I have never tried and told I was being to frugal with my $25 budget in that store. I recommend this store if you know more about wine and have more money to spend

The friendliness and knowledge of the staff here is truly amazing. I had a last minute order and Peter, Nick, and James couldn't have been more helpful in getting (what I thought was) the impossible done! They went above and beyond for a first-time customer and I can't recommend them more highly!

Right around the corner from our house is this little wine store. As a person just beginning their journey through the different types and regions of wine, it was nice to have this store so close (or maybe that's a bad thing?). Tucked away in a little shopping center, Highland Fine Wine is an unassuming little corner store that you could easily drive by and not notice it, but you'd be making a mistake. What they lack in space is made up for by the variety of wines. They will also be happy to do some special ordering for you as well. I spoke with the sales associate today, Peter, who also said that they frequently turn over wines and bring new things in. This place is a perfect little store for those who want to explore the world of wines and you're open to trying new things. Now, if you're looking for a specific bottle from a little vineyard in southern France and you need it today, perhaps this is not your store. They do wine tastings on Saturday afternoons from 3-5pm. Sign up with them before you leave so they can help you remember the types of wines you are buying so you can do a repeat tasting! A fantastic little neighborhood wine shop. Will definitely be back!

Great neighborhood wine shop. The monthly six pack is awesome. Great value and so much tastier than the wine I typically end up buying. We'll be back many times for it.

Cozy wine shop with a great selection and knowledgeable (and friendly) staff. Well worth the drive from other areas of Atlanta in my opinion. I asked for a recommendation and was given a couple of different options that were very reasonably priced. I'll definitely be back, and I'm also keen to try their monthly 6-bottle assortment. Do yourself a favor and give this place a try instead of going to one of the big chains.

This place is absolutely my favorite place to shop for my wine. Nick is the owner and extremely well educated on the wines in his shop. I love to take advantage of the Highland Half Case deal- Each Month they offer a Special Mixed 6 pack for $75.00!!!! The wines they pick for their Half Case have Never Disappointed and they are always Season/Holiday appropriate. It also allows me to discover new wines I would probably not have ever tried otherwise. Plus, they add in a simple write up talking about each wine in the Half Case-- so I can seem knowledgeable when I take them to my friends. Thank You Highland Fine Wine for educating me and keeping me in the loop on NEW, Exciting Wines that just hit the market.

I liked it. We finished sucking down our yogurt and were sauntering back to the car when we saw a special they had listed on the front door. Besides freezing our (name the appropriate body part) off because the AC was set on "Arctic", it was very pleasant. Had a great selection of interesting wines at great price points. I can see this as the kind of place to swing by en route to someone's house and picking up something to not come across (entirely) as a troglodyte that just wants free grub.

So this store isn't huge, but it has a great selection because you aren't wadding through excess crap. The owner is fantastic and always seems to be able to find a couple of bottles of what I am looking for in whatever price range. My favorite part though is the half-case monthly wine deal. This always has some great finds inside and the discount on the wines included in your half case is quite amazing.

This has become my go-to spot for wine. They have a great selection at all price ranges. The staff is super nice and helpful too. They save all your past purchases also so you can buy something again that you previously liked even if you can't remember what it was. Love this place!

I called the shop and asked for some help finding large format (magnum or Jeroboam) reds for Thanksgiving, as well as some recommendations for some whites since I was providing the wine for a large family gathering. After the initial call, I sent an email with my request. After a week went by with no response, I followed with another call. The gent said he'd call me back as he was busy with customers -- he never did. I took my wine business somewhere else. It's too bad I wanted to like this store.

I can't recommend this place enough -- especially joining their monthly wine club. For ~$75/month, you get six bottles that they specially curate. We've been doing it for six months now, and they are honestly 36 for 36. Every bottle has been spot-on and by doing it via the wine club, you save a $2-3 / bottle. Great little neighborhood shop.

This is a great little wine shop. Great selection at all price points covering all regions. The owner and staff are incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. They have patiently walked me through Burgundy - discussing villages, domains, negociants, etc. for months now.

Nick and team at Highland Fine Wine (name and ownership have changed) are fantastic. Go in with a general wine preference, or a dish that you are cooking, & ask for their advice... you won't be let down! Great for someone who just needs a good wine for tonight's dinner, or who is looking to build a well-stocked cellar. Also, check out their 6 pack of the month - a great deal, and an awesome way to try new wines/regions/grapes, etc. This is our favorite wine store in the city, and is also an incredible neighborhood gem.
