A visit to Highland Lighthouse is an absolute must-do on any Cape Cod itinerary. The location, perched on a bluff overlooking the Atlantic, is simply breathtaking. Taking a tour of the lighthouse is a fantastic experience—the guides are knowledgeable and passionate, and the climb to the top offers incredible panoramic views of the ocean and the surrounding Cape Cod National Seashore. The history of the lighthouse and the stories of its keepers are fascinating and really bring the place to life.
We also made sure to walk down to the observation deck. While the view from there is somewhat limited due to the growth of the shrubs and dunes, it still offers a lovely perspective of the dramatic coastline. It's a great spot for a photo and a quiet moment of reflection. The proximity to the Cape Cod National Seashore makes it easy to combine a lighthouse tour with a scenic walk or a relaxing afternoon on the beach. Highland Lighthouse is more than just a landmark; it’s a beautiful piece of history in a stunning natural setting.
