Highland Park is a place you should definitely visit at least once if you are planning a trip to Baku. The park offers a beautiful observation area with breathtaking views over the city, and you can also see the Flame Towers up close, as they are located nearby.
The park is clean, well maintained, and not overly crowded. It’s a wonderful spot for photos — both with the city panorama and the Flame Towers in the background. In my opinion, this is one of the best places to truly appreciate the beauty of Baku, especially the coastline. There are many benches throughout the park, which makes it comfortable for elderly visitors as well.
One thing to note is that there are no public restrooms inside the park. However, you can use the facilities at the restaurant located within the park area near the viewpoint. Accessibility is partially limited: to reach the main observation point, you need to climb stairs, and there is no direct wheelchair-accessible path from the lower entrance. That said, if you arrive from the Flame Towers side by taxi, the park itself is accessible for wheelchair users from that direction.
You can easily reach Highland Park by taking the funicular, walking up the stairs located to the left of the funicular, or taking a taxi to the Flame Towers and walking from there. Overall, it’s a must-visit spot with some of the best views in the city.
