We went to hear the very talented Reggie Dewayne play some music, which is always a pleasure. The service was great! It was busy but calm. The food was incredible! It was kid friendly, there was room for dancing, it was overall a fantastic experience! 10/10

Google
Very disappointed with what was sold to me as “carrot cake”. First of all I thought I was getting a slice of cake, not a rock hard muffin cut in two. The rest of our dinner was good. Very pricey to dine here so expectations were high.

Google
Food was amazing. The wait staff was great. We felt very comfortable, and the service was first class. The gravy for the steak pie was some of the best I've ever tasted. Tyler Smith, the executive chef, is very talented and I fully expect this will be one of those places that will eventually be very well known in the area. Make reservations, you'll need them. But you won't feel cramped. The tables are well spaced. The bar is well stocked for any that want to take on their scotch sampling event. This place makes me want to come and stay a while.

Google
Was my first time here and my husband and I already plan on it being a regular place for us. The sweet tea was great, and the Highlander burger I got was amazing and the French fries were some of the best I ever had. Loved the atmosphere and we can’t wait to go again!

Google
Alan and Donna Mullen have a wonderful place here. Its really close to home and we enjoy the atmosphere and people as much as the food. We almost always choose from the nights special menu and are never unhappy with the food. Bar service is exceptional with Nicole and Dwayne. We have spent $$$$.$$ here with lots of happy memories. However we will NEVER RETURN. The General Manager Mar*** Loc**** has issues! Thanks for the dance Donna!

Google
Great atmosphere! We went for dinner with our family from England and they gave it their seal of approval. We tried a variety of dishes, fish and chips, meat pie, and a burger. They were all outstanding!

Google
Make reservations, or sit at the bar. Nice clothes will help you fit in. Pricey, but you don't tip here, so.. had the pasta this visit, it was very good, we also had the steak salad (kind of like a stir fry salad), and the portobello appetizer. Both unique and good as well. Large selection of whiskey and scotch. If you get the sorbet, the strawberry is very sweet, stick to the raspberry, much better.

We didn't eat. Nice comfortable space. We enjoyed the live music. Service was very good.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious!! We went for dinner on a Thursday and had the fish and chips. It was so good and crispy! This is just my personal preference, but I wish the French fries hadn't been seasoned. They were ok, but not traditional. We finished the night with the chocolate mousse cake that was really small. For $12, I expected a bigger size that was shareable, but this was for only one person. They also had live music which would have been fine, if they had turned off the stereotypical restaurant ambience music as I couldn't hear my husband through all the noise. I suggest going before 7 as it was too loud for us between the radio and live band. Solid 3.5/5 stars. Would have been 5/5 if the fries weren't seasoned and music wasn't so loud.

Ronda H.

Yelp
Great food, service and atmosphere. Steak tacos are so good! Very cozy inside. Music was really good too.

Mary Margaret B.

Yelp
Listen. This is my first time here, and I was v impressed. We walked in on a Thursday without a reservation and they squeezed us in at the bar top table. Our waitress was friendly and we got a round of drinks while we perused the menu. Honestly it looked so good I struggled to decide on what to order. We started with the black bean hummus and pita and it was so delicious! We got a peach summer salad, dressing was a little sweet but it was tasty too. We finished with Snapper with green beans and lobster sauce and the Steak Pie. Both excellent The steak pie was deconstructed but man oh man it was fantastic. So many menu items my picky kids (and parents) will eat!! We will be back!

Yelp
High prices for low quality. I had brunch here today which was disappointing at best. The hostess raved about their biscuits, but when my meal arrived the biscuit I received was thin and rock hard. I tried to split it with a knife but it actually cracked in half like a cracker. She asked how I liked the biscuits and I was honest and said I didn't. So they brought another. This one was taller but still just as hard. When asked if I liked the second one I said it was just as hard as the first. The hostess apologized. Then the bill came and I was charged full price. So I paid $21.95 for 2 eggs, 2 of the thinnest slices of bacon on the planet, a mediocre hash brown casserole, and hockey pucks for biscuits plus a coffee. Totally not worth it. I also had to ask for butter and jam for the rock hard biscuit object. When I arrived I was the only person in the restaurant and that should have been my first clue. Dinner service here is ok, but do not waste your time here with brunch.

Yelp
This was our first time eating at the Highlander. We had the best lunch! I ordered corned beef and sauerkraut quesadilas, which were wonderful. Such a great fusion dish, served with a nice sauce...not sure what it was, but delicious. My husband had bangers and mash. It was a generous serving and extremely tasty. The hostess and our server were so friendly and efficient. The owner happened to be present, along with his two adorable dogs. We had a pleasant visit with him. We will be back.

Hayley M.

Yelp
Mixed review. The atmosphere was excellent! The food was pretty good. We had a difficult time getting refills and waited at least 30 minutes for the check and the food took a long time to come out. So, our server was lacking in every way but the hostess and ( i think )a manager were very friendly and the food was pretty good. We took a long time to try this restaurant and we will definitely return.

Chris C.

Yelp
What a great experience in the Collierville Square! The staff was extremely welcoming, and the atmosphere was lively and chill at the same time. We tried the gumbo, fish and chips, steak pie and the egg roll of the day (steak siracha Thai aioli). Everything.....yes everything was amazing! The bartender Danny was a great host for the night and helped us navigate the bourbon selection :-) There is live music on Friday and Saturday. I suggest calling in a reservation ahead of time during the peak evening hours. There are plenty of others who seem to share a favorable opinion of this restaurant!

Samantha B.

Yelp
This place can never be a chain because THERE CAN ONLY BE ONE! Haha I couldn't resist. This place is very authentic- our waiter told us the owner lived abroad for years. I honestly cannot remember all the details but I bet it's a common story the waiters know so you could ask for get more details. I'm not a burger person but the Highlander was good. Hubby said it was just a normal burger to him. I had a bite of the fish and chips when my friend got it so when I returned I had to get it myself. I'm happy to say it's not greasy like it is at other places. My friend also said it was very authentic- he noted how it came with mushy peas which is especially authentic. They also make their own tartar sauce. I had forgotten how huge it was- I had to take half home. The fries were just ok though, which was disappointing. The nachos were surprisingly good. They've shortened the menu so as of now there aren't a lot of things I'd want to try, but I'd be willing to come back! Loved: - Appetizer: Chili con Carne and Mature Cheddar Nachos Liked: - Pub Classics: Classic Fish and Chips - Sandwich: Highlander Burger Ok: - Side: Seasoned Skinny Fries

Yelp
I love Scottish Pubs so I was very excited to give them a try. The first negative occurred when we walked in and the restaurant was mostly empty and we were told they were completely booked. So I went to the website and found they take reservations so I looked and they were not even close to completely booked. We made a reservation for 1 hour later and came back. Ambience was pretty cool and we were excited. We ordered the Reuben egg rolls and they were amazing! I love fish and chips so I was all in. My wife ordered the burger, my buddy order the Risotto dish and our other friend ordered the salmon. The burgers and salmon were delicious! The fries were good as well. Great job on those!!! The risotto, uhhhhhhh, no! It was mushy and had 0 seasoning! It was served hot with some sort of salad on top! Heat and salad are never a good mix! My friend is a chef as well and needless to say, it was a fail! On to the fish and chips! The chips (French fries) were really quite good. The fish looked beautiful. That is about it! Neither the fish nor the batter had any seasoning! In order to get it to taste like anything at all, I had to pour salt on it, slather with their target sauce (which is quite tasty) and douse it with malt vinegar! It was just not good. The last thing that was strange was the men's room. No toilet, just 3 urinals! Really weird! The short of it is that, in my opinion, it is a really cool place and I would definitely go back and eat the burger and Reuben egg rolls. Anything else I fear would be like most restaurants, under seasoned and just ok! I hope they change the little things!

Yelp
Service was good. Food was horrible. The place was empty, and now I understand why. My friend ordered the fish and chips and got sick. I smelled it and it was foul. Burger was overcooked and dry. Mashed potatoes gravy was oily. Wish I had taken pictures of this abomination. How do you claim to be a pub and have a selection of the 4 most underwhelming beers in existence? Word of advice, get a new chef if you want to save this place.

Lee W.

Yelp
Food: party of 4: fish and chips - good, Big Salad (they were out of several ingredients and it was mediocre, fish Barramundi - good, Ribeye steak- terrible Sides: mushrooms (horrible), Brussels (decent) Sides are Not included with price of entree. 2 of us got mushrooms, kindly let the server know they were terrible and asked her to take them away-- no further action on part of server. Service: nice girl, but not a good server. Glasses were dry most of the dinner, was very in knowledgeable regarding the menu, offered no recourse to the mushrooms. Ambiance: good. Overall: significantly overpriced for quality of food and especially the service provided. I've tried this place 4-5 times over the years and it's consistently below standards for its price point. Would not recommend.

Yelp
As an international traveling food critic and unbeknownst to the owner nor staff, the following is what I experienced: + Host was very welcoming, personable, and professional. + Server provided fine service throughout. Her demeanor, attitude, and service was outstanding, which shows he clearly has the establishment's interest at heart. + Very pleasurable and comfortable atmosphere inside and outside. + Superb care from the entire staff, which yielded a positive attitude to do what's right for the customer and the business model. + Extremely high quality food in every aspect. Compliments to the head Chef, the Sous-Chef, and his entire kitchen staff, including the the Backers and Bus'ers. If you are in the area and don't take the time to dine here, you missed out on a superb experience.

John W.

Yelp
This is a great place for food and drinks. They also have outside seating. I got there fish and chips and they were so good!!!!

John P.

Yelp
Best irish pub around wish i could eat there every nite. Im addicted to the bangers an mash outstanding guys .

Sarah M.

Yelp
Loved both entrees we got - shrimp linguini & teriyaki salmon. Definitely worth the drive if you're not in the collierville area.

Drew M.

Yelp
We went for date night to this local collierville square spot. We heard from friends it was great. Being a man with Scottish heritage, I was excited about the experience. The back porch seating was so nice! Our waitress was so nice and helpful! My wife had a Pinot Grigio, and I tried the Main Street mule. The mule was delicious, especially if you like peach. When it came to the food, we went for classic pub items: bangers and mash, and steak pie. This was the only negative of the evening. Both came out semi warm, like they had been hanging out under a warmer for a couple of hours- maybe someone ordered it for lunch but had to leave before getting their meal, who knows. The taste was ok. We ranked both meals 6/10. I will say we did try the egg rolls too (after our meal), and they came out hot, and delicious. Given how much the entree weighs in a rating, this visit deserves a 3/5.

Yelp
This used to be one of our favorite restaurants when they first opened. It has gone from great to good to won't go back. Service was mediocre at best, two people ordered the flatbread and the flatbread wasn't done, very doughy. We both sent it back and requested it be cooked longer. Wasn't any better, still not done. I have had it before and recommended it to our guest, a little embarrassing. Gave 2 stars because my husband said his fish & chips were good, otherwise, no stars if it was an option.

Keith B.

Yelp
Food was excellent. Had steak pie and they give you a very large serving. Hailey served us and was fantastic. Very attentive and informative. We will be back. Strong drinks and sticky toffee cake also great.

Nathan B.

Yelp
Proportions of fish and price are not of positive value. Servers need more training over the menu and dining etiquette.

JP M.

Yelp
a respectable Scottish themed pub with some Scottish fare on the menu. as much as I appreciate living in collierville, there's not a lot of places with personality like this. if I don't want to drive so the way to Memphis, this or Bangkok Alley are my go-to spots for something interesting in collierville. different atmospheres, but both above average for collierville.

Lisa F.

Yelp
Lovely place on the square to have lunch - beautiful atmosphere with the old-world woodwork room dividers, chairs that are actually comfortable, solid menu for carnivores - steak salad was especially generous ...and a nice wine list. It doesn't feel noisy or over-crowded and I found it thoughtful they even have a toe-device to open the restroom door after you've washed your hands. That's just extra thoughtful. Never a disappointment at Highlander.

Nayeli V.

Yelp
First time coming here. We wanted to check out Collierville Main St. and thought we'd get drinks here. We got seated immediately on a Friday night even though we didn't have a reservation. There was live music by Ken Huston Duo who played some really great music, it got better throughout the night as everyone started to sing along especially during the last hour open. Our waitress was also very nice, funny, and attentive. She was very knowledgeable and we could tell she enjoyed working there. The food and drinks turned out to be good, and the ambiance was great. Definitely plan on coming back here on a Thurs, Fri, or Sat night for live music.

Yelp
It smells funny in here. I'm sorry but my first impression was a sour smell. It lingers and makes for a horrible environment to dine in. I liked the Doritos Chili Pie (Nachos) we had for an appetizer much more than my wife did. Apparently I'm simple and basic. I thought it was good. It's just Chili, cheese, dried parsley, and Doritos, that's it. I did find it tasty though. The damn chili is really good! Service was odd, and completely spotty at best. It's obvious that they aren't working for tips. I get your innovative stance on menu, and it's all built into the price structure, kind of groove. It's a great idea, I hope it ends up working out! My wife hated her food. She said it was very low quality and after tasting it I have to agree. The "Bangers" were like Sam's club bratwurst at best it seemed. I would have thought they made their own at a place like this. Nope, they were obviously not homemade. Mashed potatoes (not that great) were drowned in what tasted like McCormick gravy. I could be wrong. I've been wrong before, but if this is made in house... I had the fish and chips. I've been searching for a home for this dish in the metro area. I did find a pretty good fish offering, but most of my plate was also lackluster. The fish was crispy and tasty! I hit it with the Vinegar and it was the best I've had around here. The tarter sauce jar was cute and fancy, but failed to be practical and useful. The stuff in it was just chopped poorly and it was hard to get it out. My Chips/Potatoes where undercooked and a bit crunchy in the middle. Nooooo! This was a killer! The Pea smoothie however was on point. It was really good! I imagine it was exactly as it should be. My wife ordered a terrible vanilla drink because they were out of "Gotta Get Up" even though it was on the menu. She took one sip and it sat. It was nasty!!! My beer was great. Ananda! Yum

Julia G.

Yelp
My favorite nice local restaurant. Food is delicious but their cocktails are even better! The staff is always very kind! Want a nice place in Collierville this is where you should go!

Mike S.

Yelp
this place is located in such a nice old town center which gives it a rly cool vibe. food is great albeit not the cheapest but it def delivers. i rly recommend the toffee pudding too for desert

Steven J.

Yelp
Great food and atmosphere. A bit of a hidden gem in Collierville. The food is top notch and the service is reliable.

Kenzie T.

Yelp
We loved our date night at The Highlander. It was perfect for celebratory birthday dinner. We got the hummus, summer salad, & filet. Highly recommend!

Kevin G.

Yelp
Awful service. Lots of menu items unavailable. Business was also very dirty. Took forever for refills & to be waited on.

Donna C.

Yelp
Food has been terrible lately . The former cook left & food has become so bad we quit going. Very bland & even their brunch is bad. We went all the time till owner hired this cook! Today we were allowed to be seated then hostess preceded to tell we had to leave because they wanted to get ready for dining in. Three other crowds were told the same to leave. Owner needs to change hostess & management. We were there before 2 but told to leave. Ur business needs customers . Ur manager cares more about his revers theen customers. Ur steak delicious but I'll be looking eleseware where u can sit down to eat & drink without shitting down. At 2. During summer time u should be open all the time from 11-9 . Used not to have to have reservations for brunch which was every Sunday till Covid . Service has gotten worse at the customers expense!

Barbara B.

Yelp
It was our first ever visit to this place. The atmosphere was great. The live music was amazing. We just had drinks so I can't comment on the food, but we still had a very nice time. Will be sure to come back.

Marc T.

Yelp
Led lights for the band like headlight high beams. Band didn't start for an hour. Manager said she couldn't do anything as it was the bands fault. Still seeing stars.

Allen W.

Yelp
The service here is terrible. Sat down and didn't see a waitress for 10 minutes. Brought food out for 3 of 4 people and it was a be good wait before the 4th person was served. Ran out of Fish and Chips at 7 PM on a Saturday night, st a Scottish Pub. Unbelievable! It's obvious the owner rarely shows up here. I will follow his lead. Time for them to clear out and make room for a new restaurant.

Jay O.

Yelp
I had the pork osso . Entree came out cold. The server was having a drink with her mother vs being attentive. The potatoe pancake were good enough to play disk golf with. Their prices aren't not on par with the prices they charge. I'm curious if the owner even eats the food served here. They need a new chef, not sure how they are still open.

G.E. R.

Yelp
If airfare costs prevents a Glasgow or Edinburg visit then take a drive to Collierville. The owners-chef did their research. Pretty authentic Fish 'n Chips down to the creamed peas and malt vinegar - Dear Lord, no ketchup please. Nice traditional decor and furnishings (rather expensive) and good well-trained wait staff. The bangers and mash is a ''one-meal-per-day'' entree - very filling and authentic British.

Kelly H.

Yelp
Met a few girls here for a drink/ dinner. We were on the patio at my request since cases are at an all time high. The patio is great. Wood deck and tables, heaters and fans and a nice flat screen TV. We ordered drinks and some got dinner. I ended up ordering food to go. Our server was so nice and met every request with a smile.

Jeanne V.

Yelp
Dwayne was very friendly and engaging! We had a great experience. The atmosphere was inviting with the fireplace and the live music. We will definitely visit again.

Mary C.

Yelp
Always outstanding service entertainment great specials food is consistently delicious This is my favorite place on the Square

Ron B.

Yelp
Just checked this place out today and I'm so glad we stopped in! What I liked: The Rueben egg rolls were incredible! The Risotta was incredible! Our server, Hannah was incredible! She was so nice and helpful and sweet! They have some good IPAs on tap. The environment was cool! The bathroom is completely hands free for soap, water, dryers, and a kick plate pull shelf on the bottom of the door so you don't have to touch it! What a great experience! Thanks Hannah!

Austin K.

Yelp
The food looked appetizing in the pictures from other yelpers. My wife and I decided to check it out and were disappointed by the lack of flavor in each dish we ordered. Also, we were a bit confused by the cheese board. When it arrived to the table we discovered that the "crackers" were oval Ritz and ClubHouse. I think maybe a small loaf of bread would've been a better choice but the cheese was as expected. The fact that the tip is already configured into the price you pay per dish is odd and sadly, it shows in the service. Our waitress would do the casual drive by questions rather than pause and ask if we needed anything. It's 1:21 pm on a Tuesday. The place had maybe 5 tables. Overall, the food was bland, cheese board was not very impressive and the service was sub par.

Mark J.

Yelp
We had a great Mother's Day Brunch at Highlander Scottish Pub on the square i'm Collierville. April was our server and she did a great job! We enjoyed our meal, prawn salad appetizer and the Ribeye, Chips and Onion rings! The food was really delicious. The service was top notch and they gave the three Mother's in our party a fresh cut dethroned rose and made a donation to the Collierville Animal Shelter. Very nice surprise. Also, no tipping. It's included in the price!

Brian L.

Yelp
From my first impression, I don't really care for this place. It's a nice enough place, but the menu didn't offer many choices and wasn't very appealing. They do not have one single sandwich, other than the $15 burger. I ordered that, expecting to be wowed. Before it was sat down in front of me, I said that burger is tiny. It was a very small burger. I don't think it was even 1/3 pound. The bread was small and the meat was even smaller. It wasn't cooked medium as I asked for. It was medium well. It would have been a good burger for $8 but not for $15. It was worth $8. I finished every scrap on my plate and still left unsatisfied. I could have eaten more. I wasn't interested in beer, so I didn't really pay attention to the choices. As for lunch, this is just not my place. Oh and for some weird reason, they include the sales tax into their price so that its $15 after tax. At least I didn't have to pay tax in addition, but $20 with tip is too much for a lunch that won't fill up a small guy.

John K.

Yelp
Went here last week door was open. Went in and they said they was closed. Went there today. Ordered 2 wedge salads. It came out divided into 2 portions for us to share. And it was just leaf romance lettuce. And she wouldn't admit it was not a wedge. So as we walked out the hostess asked what was wrong and as we told her she rolled her eyes and walked away as I was telling her. Never going back.

Brooke W.

Yelp
They have a wine tasting event the second Tuesday of every month for $35/person. There was some really great food and really great wine. If you can't or don't make it out to that, they have a really good menu and very good beer. The staff is friendly and I had an amazing night.

Selena S.

Yelp
Excellent addition to Collierville! I've been here twice and enjoyed the food both times, and great service! Once for lunch and once for apps and drinks (had an awesome bartender serve us! She was fantastic and remembered names and drink specs) The "what you see is what you get" on pricing is unique too. Tax and tip are in the prices listed. We even questioned the bartender asking if it was REALLY truly fair on what she was getting (included in the amount on that receipt.) She replied yes, and no further tip or add-on needed nor expected. Delicious food, the cheesy mushroom app my fav thing so far!!!

gina g.

Yelp
Terrible terrible terrible. The food was actually microwave. I was told they had a new cook under new management. We got the entire refund and I won't be going back.

Bryan A.

Yelp
Highlander has really upped their game. Excellent fish n' chips with new tartar sauce I have to admit I can eat by itself. Have with a Guinness and 12 yr Scotch - Glenfiddich. Great service! Sorry I ate the fish already before the pic!

Matt O.

Yelp
Highlander Scottish Pub is a new welcoming edition to Collierville. Highlander Scottish pub offers a great variety of menu items other restaurants in Collierville don't offer. I have yet to find a place that serves up bangers and mash. It sounds pretty good but I decided to go with the fish & chips. As far as prep time it was reasonably quick but still a bit long but was well worth it. The fish was crispy flakey and fried to a tasty golden brown. Their fries were hot & fresh with crisp cooked to perfection like their fish. I was really impressed as it's hard to find a lot of places that cook a good fish & chips in the area. I was definitely impressed with the service as our server was friendly in a tentative when it came to making sure our diamond experience was delightful. I also loved the interior of the place with their lovely Scottish themed motif cloth topped tables & the amazing cleanliness inside. So I will I'll be going out with my family again to Highlander Scottish Pub. I'm sure to like them on FB & tell a friend https://www.facebook.com/HighlanderCollierville/

Yelp
Disappointing place over multiple efforts. Mainly service related including an absolute refusal to check on the table. They may be understaffed, but there is no excuse for neglect. Some places respond to a request for service -- not this place. If you're planning on going, just sit and wait no matter how long it takes. Before we hit the eject button after about 50 minutes, we managed to have a drink and the French Dip egg roll. The portion was ample, but the flavor was quite one-sided -- nothing to redeem the service.

Marti I.

Yelp
We ate here last night for the first time. The ambience is pleasant and the staff was friendly. Our waitress, Haley, was very attentive. We ordered drinks and the herb bread to start. Our cocktails were great, but the bread was tasteless. Next we split a wedge salad. It was huge and neither of us finished our half. It was excellent, but we were unhappy to see that they added $2.00 because we shared it. That made the wedge salad $17.00 ! For our entrees, we both had the fish and chips. It was a bit dry, but good. We didn't even notice the price until the check came. The Fish and Chips entree is $25! That's more than twice as much as Huey's and it certainly is not twice as good. We ordered desserts to share. We asked for the cheesecake of the day, but at 6:30 in the evening, they were already out of this. We ordered the Sticky Toffee Pudding, which was sort of a soggy cake with little flavor, and the peach sorbet, which was terrible. Each of these desserts was $10. We will never go back to Highlander.
