Highlands Castle

Our stay at Highlands Castle was truly beyond anything we could have imagined, and it was made all the more special by the incredible hospitality of John and Yvonne (as well as Major and Bella!) The views of Lake George from the castle were nothing short of breathtaking. My fiancé chose the perfect surprise stay for us and John was an integral member of the surprise. We approached the castle and immediately was surrounded by the beauty of the lake and the castle’s enchanting architecture—it truly felt like we were living in a fairytale. We often found ourselves watching the sunrise and sunset paint the sky with all its beautiful colors. It was the kind of peaceful, awe-inspiring beauty that makes you just want to sit and soak it all in. The castle itself is also just as stunning inside as it is outside. My fiancé and I spent hours just taking it all in, feeling like royalty as we enjoyed the beautiful scenery around us. John and Yvonne, we can’t thank you enough for making our stay so memorable. From the delicious honey iced tea Yvonne made, the custom mugs, to the thoughtful gesture of bringing us plates and utensils when you saw us having dinner on the balcony, every moment felt special because of you. We can’t wait to come back one day, hopefully with our future children, so they can experience the magic of Highlands Castle and the wonderful memories we created here. Thank you for making an unforgettable weekend even more special with your involvement and care. We are honored and blessed to have met you both.❤️

Words can not say enough about this place. There were 18 of us we had the whole place to ourselves, however owners are on site and live in half of the Castle, we did a birthday, anniversary, and mystery luncheon. So so much fun. Enjoy the pics have tons more

I wasn't a guest at the Castle, but happened to stop by out of curiosity to see it while passing through the area on a bicycle tour. By chance I met John and we struck up a conversation. He graciously offered to give me a tour of the grounds and house. I was totally awestruck by the incredible views of the lake and the beauty of the house and furnishings and loved the story of how it all came to be. I later met John's lovely wife, Yvonne, and their 2 wonderful German Shepherds, Belle and Major. This little serendipitous visit to the Highlands Castle was probably the highlight of my weeklong bike tour in the Adirondacks.

As I was eating breakfast at sunshine diner with my husband I looked up at the mountain, and I said is that a castle and my husband looked it up we called and the owner answered. We went for a tour with them. Words cannot express how I feel how the property views, the scenery everything and then some that we have experienced the owner was, very friendly and the story how he built the property for the reason of his son. It just took my breath away., very friendly very and the story built the property for the reason of his son. and it just takes your breath away. Give it 100 stars if I could.Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart and my husband for the tour for everything I will send a picture. John, I can't thank you enough for this truly one-of-a-kind birthday celebration! The moment my girlfriend and I arrived at the castle, it just felt magical. Beautiful backdrop of Lake George, unbelievable rooms—a truly spectacular experience all around. What a memory. We couldn't have been more thrilled with John and the Highland Castle experience! The couple that looks over the castle is full of love which spreads to the entire property. Some of the most breathtaking views I’ve ever seen. The driveway is a little tricky but only adds to the experience.

Proposed at the Highlands Castle and it was just a surreal experience. This is the nicest property I have ever stayed at. The royal bedroom is as luxurious and elegant as it gets. Cant get over the grand hall and views from the terrace. Above all however, John and Yvonne were what made this place special. Two of the most amazing people we have ever met. They went above and beyond to make sure our proposal weekend was full of joy and happiness. Cant say enough about them and what they have created with this castle.
