Hikiniku to Come (Kyoto)

One of the most satisfying meals I’ve had in Kyoto. The concept is simple, freshly grilled hamburger steak and rice, but the quality makes it special. The patty is juicy, flavorful, and cooked right in front of you, which makes the experience even better. The rice is fluffy and pairs perfectly with the meat. I also liked being able to customize the flavor with different condiments and sauces. Everything feels focused and well executed. Important to know: you need a reservation. You can book online by purchasing an Advance Priority Ticket (1,000 yen per seat), or make a same-day in-store reservation starting at 9 AM. However, there is usually a long queue, so it’s better to arrive early. It’s popular for a reason, and definitely worth planning for.

Hidden a bit out of view in Kyoto, this beef patty spot is absolutely worth seeking out. The patties are cooked perfectly, and the experience is very well thought out. They offer a set with three different patties and guide you on three different ways to eat them, which makes it even more enjoyable. The first patty on its own is already delicious, but I especially liked it with rice and the soy sauce they provide. There are also plenty of spices on the side if you want to customize the flavor. Overall, it’s a great place with high-quality food, and I highly recommend making a reservation before you go, as it’s definitely worth the visit.

We have been trying to get a reservation at this place “Hiki niku to come” And finally we did it!! We arrived the restaurant about 15 minutes early and there was already a line Staff will confirm your reservation and take you to the machine to purchase your meal ( i did the online reservation so everything was done and if you wanna purchase other stuff you can do at this time ) before seating us to the table At the table staff will also explain what’s going to be during the meal and also explain about how to enjoy the meal The rice is free refill 🍚 The food will serve one by one and each time you’ll be enjoy the hamburg with different condiments I have no wonder why they are super popular The food quality is amazing Hamburg is really tender and juicy, cooked to perfection ,you’ll be surprised how it is!!! The condiments are well compliment with the meal The Rice is surprisingly soft, chewy and fluffy I ended up getting 3 bowls of rice 🍚 !!! Overall experience Its worth even more than you paid !!!! For meat lovers, especially fans of juicy hamburg steak, this place is definitely worth adding to your list. Personally, I’ve never tried the branches in Thailand because the queues are always extremely long, so when I found this Kyoto location, I couldn’t miss it. Reservation tip: Normally, reservations open 7 days in advance, but you’ll need to try your luck with whatever time slots are still available. If you want a guaranteed time, there’s an extra ¥1,000 reservation fee per person, plus ¥1,820 for the food set (3 pieces). Reservations can be made via TableCheck. The restaurant is easy to find by following Google Maps and is located near Gion Street, making it perfect to continue sightseeing after your meal. Overall, I’d rate it 9/10 — great experience and very satisfying.

This place completely lived up to the hype. Reservations are a must. You can book online, or come at 9am to secure a slot for lunch or dinner. Walk-ins aren’t possible because they’re always fully booked. The set comes with three beef patties, a raw egg, and unlimited rice. There are plenty of condiments on the table, plus clear instructions on how to enjoy the patty step by step. I also ordered the special sauce, but honestly, the condiments provided were already more than enough. It’s amazing value for money, and this is for sure the best beef patty I’ve ever had. I don’t think I’ll find anything better than this. The indoor counter seating is beautiful, and you get to watch them grill the meat right in front of you. They even have a dedicated space to store your coat so it doesn’t smell like smoke. Very lovely experience, thank you guys!

Was excited to try their original branch in Japan since they newly opened in my country and I don't think I'm impressed. Hamburg was just OK (decent at least) but I dont see whats worth hyping about it... The hamburg were juicy though but it really lacks flavor. I also dont see the worth of paying 1000Y more just to secure your reservation. Just book a slot 7 days before your target date so you get a slot with no extra fee. Their drinks are very overprice as well - a cola or oolong tea for 670Y😅 Staffs were nice and accommodating though.

Mouth-watering and well worth the reservation. Trying every possible combination of spices and seasonings and sides to go with the meat patties was so fun! Ended up loving the shredded daikon with vinegar and the green pepper with olive oil. Extremely well thought out and executed. Would come back again!

Finally i got to try the infamous hikiniku to come 挽肉と米 in Kyoto, Japan. The day i went was their good meat day or いい肉の日。 The set lunch price was slightly more expensive than usual, probably around 1000yen higher in price. However, the meal was definitely worth the price. Each of us got 3 pcs of meat and 1 raw egg while rice was refillable. All the meat were prepared on the spot by them, we were able to see them make the patty and grilled them in front of us. The environment was superb, could feel the excitement from the customers and passionate from the workers. Definitely worth the visit to this restaurant when come to Kyto.
