Breakfast and location is good. Nightmare to stay 7 days. I booked in a hurry and the rate on Booking is genearlly ok (7.5). However, it was totally a disaster. There was no wifi in the room, only at lobby. But even when you are in the lobby the wifi is not good. The AC is broken. It could open but no cold air coming out. I'm always sweating after showering, lying on the bed, and fighting against mosquito. Never had good sleep. And you never find staff. One tenant even told me her bag became open after she coming back, I don't know if it was true but this is my first time meeting her, and it should be considered serously.

Hiliki House is situated in a great location for exploring Stone Town.|We had 2 rooms, one with a private bathroom, the other was across the hall but not through the main residence so still private enough.|Both of the rooms were spotless and well presented.|The breakfast room upstairs is airy and light with a great view across the park. Lots of choices for breakfast including fresh fruits, juice, coffee/ tea, eggs and breads. |The hotel is authentic.|The house manager, David, couldn’t be more helpful, nothing is to much trouble, all of the staff were fantastic 😊

Nice room and small hotel with arabesque decorations. The guy at reception has been very helpful and polite. Room is clean, hot water in the shower with excellent pressure, clean bedding clean towels. Breakfast included eggs , fresh fruit, coffee and tea, toast and pancake. Overall a very pleasant stay for the price. Thank you.

Unfortunately the hotel was not meeting minimum requirements to be on booking. Rooms were dirty and with mold. We didn't want to continue our staying at a hotel, but they didn't agree for refund. We booked twin room with private bathroom, however we received double bedroom with shared bathroom. Lamps located close to bed were not working so we have to walking in dark to turn on the lights. In the room was no wifi. Next day when we request to refund and try cancel the staying, we were offered only to change a room. This time it was twin room, but without air conditioner working. Towels were old and we didn't feel comfortable to use them. When we wanted to make complaint on the first day, we couldn't find any staff on duty. Only one Gardener the didn't speak English and didn't call anyone. Friend of mine checked out the same day however she paid for all staying. No one gave any dollar of discount, even i asked.

The room was completely moldy, musty, and the bed was damp. The air was so stale that it was difficult to breathe. The person at the reception was extremely unfriendly. If you have a pickup from the airport, you have to pay an extra fee for every minute the flight is delayed. The money is then demanded quite aggressively. The hotel's responses to reviews are also very unprofessional.

Location is wonderful, management very friendly, the bed is uncomfortable, rooms clean, bathroom not clean, toiletries not for all rooms. Building is old, nice style, but very much in need of some renovation. Breakfast simple, but not bad, not all guests can sit down to eat at the same time, might have to wait for turn. They accept credit cards with no extra charge, parking possible right next to hotel. I expected a little more for the price.

This property misleads customers by showcasing upgraded rooms in their pictures to sell the lower-tier ones. Upon arrival, I encountered several issues: Humid Air: The atmosphere in the room was uncomfortably humid. Non-Working AC: The air conditioning unit was non-functional. Loud Ventilator: The ventilation system was incredibly noisy. Shower Problems: The water in the shower was stagnating and wouldn't run properly. Renting a budget hotel doesn't exempt them from providing the services they advertise, such as functioning air conditioning. Disappointing experience overall.

The bedroom is very beautiful and comfortable but de service is very very slow. We were waiting one hour and 30 minutes for breakfast. This os unacceptable. We had to take flight and we were late and couldn't take breakfast. The rest of the accomodation is good
