Hill Garden Hotel

The hotel room was nice and has all of the necessities but the Aircon took quite a long time to make the room cold. This hotel is located kind of in the forest area so you can hear many insects at night. There was a mouse in my room but housekeeping took care of it. The food was okay mostly Myanmar food in the buffet but you can order what you like but you have to pay if you order. The beach are was nice but it was a 5 minute walk to the beach from the hotel but it was fine for me, the beach had some rocky areas on the west of it so try not to swim there if you don't want to get injured, it can get covered up when the tide rises, you could buy coconut water there and some seafood so it was nice There is a playground near the reception so kids can play there, the staff were very helpful and even at night they still helped to get rid of the mouse in my room. If you want to stay in an affordable hotel for your vacation you can stay here.

I went Chaung Tha in rainy season and stayed there for 2 days, they took fully care about us,even there was only room, they ran generator for the whole night. Service was good, food was good.

Well, this tuck away hotel is located a bit further out from the popular chaung thar hotel zone. It is on the way to shwe thaung yan beach, twin rocks beach, gerizm hotel etc. Though it is not in the popular zone, it still is quite near to the restauranta and shops. U can drive to town, in about 10 mins, leasurely drive. The hotel is not on the beach. Parking is good, they have security staffs, and u can park near reception or further in, nearer to the rooms. Rooms are all bungalows located sort of like on the elevated terrace. The lower level ones are more expensive, believe it or not, because it is constructed with bricks and all. The cheaper, the more characteristic and charming ones, in my opinion, are the bamboo ones. Some unit has a peekaboo view of the sea. The bamboo ones are closer to the breakfast area/restaurant and the pool, and they are located on the top of the hill (elevation, not really a hill). Place is very woody, very shady, and has swings and landscaping. Prices are very attractive, much much cheaper than the popular strips, and here no beach vendors to annoy u, so its a big win. The hotel has vege garden, and they do cook for u. Pool is of good size and well shaded. This has more of a jungle feel rather than a beach hotel. U do have to walk to the beach, or drive. From room to the hotel main gate is about 5-10 mins, and from the gate to the beach is about 5-10 min. So depends on how slowly u walk, it could take somewhere from 10-15 min. Not so far, and the beach is much better than chaung thar. U can also drive to the beach. This is a good hotel for people who likes peace and quiet away from the crowd and annoying vendors, and on a budget. Rooms only cost 50-70K MMK per night. Staffs are friendly. The villas are, however, quite close to each other and hopefully u don't encounter the noisy neighbours. Rooms have AC, mosquito net beds, clean toilet and shower attached, with private balcony and few chairs and table. A good solid budget friendly hotel for sure, just don't expect a five stars facility and amenities, u are not paying the price!

Really love this place! This is first trip of my daughter, 4 years old baby. She is very happy for her first experience to the beach. She love swimming at the pool and she also like to play at the playground. But, i think the playground is not safe for baby. She also love go around in garden and organic farm. Room rate and meals price are fair but weak in care of room service. In conclusion, this is nice hotel you should choose at ChaungTha Beach, Myanmar.

We stayed here for a week over Christmas, with our dog.||The hotel is well laid out with beautiful gardens for walking, there is obviously a plan to live up to the name ‘Hill Top Garden’. The staff were really helpful, and the restaurant served tasty food, mostly local but there were a couple of western dishes (fish & chips) which were very nice. There’s not much restaurant competition, except on the beach where we ate every lunch, having fish dishes. The rooms were small basic, but we spent our time on the veranda, so it was quite pleasant.||The power is off all day (6pm-6am) which is a bit frustrating, but we were expecting this. While they say pet-friendly, several street dogs making this a bit challenging, but better than most ‘ pet-friendly’ hotels here.||Definitely recommend this place, if you want to support community tourism.

The hotel area spread out in a nice garden on a hill is lovely and the garden is very well kept. The bungalow we had was basic but comfortable with a nice big balcony to enjoy the view (even a little sea view if you stand up) and bed with moskito net. We were nearly the only guests, so the whole facility was very quiet but still staff was attentive whenever we needed anything. They don't speak much english but tried their best to assist. Wifi is available at reception / restaurant. The restaurant offers the typical selection of local food and was good the one evening we had dinner. ||We can highly recommend to explore the coast towards the north of the hotel, some very nice and very deserted beaches to find!||There is no fridge in the room and wifi is only available in the evening - considering the whole area does not have 24 hour electricity this is not surprising and we were aware of this. Also you need to be aware that the hotel is bit out of town so you'll be well off with an own motorbike or other transport (we rented a decent one from the hotel for a reasonable price). Actually the location was partly the reason for us to stay here as we wanted to get away a bit from the sometimes busy "central" Chaungta area.

Hill Garden Hoitel is located just outside of Chaung Thar but I actually think thats the best thing about it, it means that the beach which is a few minutes walk away is deserted and you have it all to yourself. The hotel whilst rustic at times is worth it, as the price is low and the atmosphere is lovely. We visited in low season and were one of only two groups at the resort, the staff were friendly and recommended lots to us. The big boss would always say hello every morning and be happy to help us out. The downside is that the food at the restaurant was not great, so i would recommend eating out for dinner. It was worth it for what you paid, however if you want luxury i would recommend staying elsewhere, but we enjoyed it a lot.

14 bungalows nestled among a beautiful grove of fruit trees and colorful vegetation. Papaya, bananas, pineapples and plums are among the plants in the thoroughly maintained garden. A beach is a few minutes’ walk off and rooms on the south wing offer views of the Chaung Tha basin. Rooms are simple spotless bungalows. They aren’t equipped with air-con but fans are available upon request; they’re not typically required as the hilltop location allows for a natural flow of fresh breeze. Power is available from 18:00 until 06:00 and there’s no WiFi, but plans are in the works. Rooms are equipped with hot water thanks to the solar water heater. The food there was not great, so I would recommend eating out for dinner. If you want luxury I would recommend staying elsewhere, but enjoyed it for local beach Chaung Thar.
