My wife and I spent seven nights at Hillcrest Cottages and had a wonderful stay. Our cottage, #10 was very clean and comfortable. Each day I would walk our garbage and towels to the office for drop off and new towels. The cottage had a fridge, top range, toaster, coffee pot w/coffee, TV, table/chairs and clothes hangers. The bathroom was clean and provided a great shower. Each night we would sit on the bench outside the cottage and watch the sunset. The young couple that operated the Cottages were warm and friendly. I also had good experiences with the Cowboy Lodge & Gill; The Gardiner Grocery store for goods, coffee & donuts; North Entrance Wash Tub for laundry.

Rooms clean, comfortable beds. We had 4 adults in 2units with adjoining door Full kitchen on one side, mini on other. Can’t beat price Staff is excellent to deal with It is an awesome location to Yellowstone. Town is walkable to most food and shopping. Grocery store had good selections Highly recommend this place

Great location. The owner and staff are very friendly and accommodating. We stayed in cottage A, which has a separate bedroom and kitchen. There are also two other beds in another room. Highly recommended for a family.

We stayed in the Luxury Cottage, this is rented as one unit but has 2 separate exterior doors with a connecting door in the middle. We were traveling as a family of 5 so this was perfect. Having 2 rooms gave you more room to spread out, plus 2 microwaves and 2 bathrooms. Only one side has a 'kitchen' area with seating, which is still a little tight. We kept the interior door open, tucked behind the kitchen table which made movement easier.||The bathrooms are clean and adequate, but no real storage. If the owner's would just add a shelf above the sinks, it would be a small but very helpful improvement.||The rooms are clean, but certainly on the rustic side. Imagine staying at a distant relative's, who has a second home on their property and you'll be fine. Like most people, we were here to visit Yellowstone. Hillcrest Cottages makes a great home base for sleeping and traveling as you are right outside of Yellowstone. The town of Gardiner is small enough to walk around from one end to the other easily. ||One note of caution (and this has nothing to do with this hotel or the town of Gardiner) The road from Yellowstone to Gardiner is terrible. The first night we came down it, traveling at the posted 25mph, our brakes were burning. The next few nights we got a little smarter and used the pull-offs, no burning brakes :-) ||||

While visiting Yellowstone National Park we needed a room that wasn’t an arm and leg price. This location was literally right at the entrance and right down from the Roosevelt Arch. It is a quiet location, small little town and very nice people. We had arrived later than expected but the young man checked us in quickly and was very nice. Everything was awesome and would definitely recommend this location when needing a room in this area.

This was a really nice place to stay. Clean rooms, comfortable beds, and very good showers. It’s a small town so you get get most places on foot. It’s maybe a two minute drive to the north entrance of Yellowstone. Hotels are expensive in this area but I liked place a lot and it was reasonable in comparison.

The cottage was cute and clean to stay in., with parking right in front of the cottage. It had all basic amenities including microwave, fridge and coffee maker. Location is very close to Yellowstone NP north entrance. We were shown a high price while booking which we paid, and soon after that the price dropped so we ended up paying 15$ extra due to this.

We enjoyed a cottage in September 2023 and it was such a pleasant surprise. Yes - these cottages are old. But they are super clean. The linens were all crisp and white. Bathroom was immaculate. Bed was comfortable enough for a hotel bed. Shower was HOT and water pressure was good. Staff super friendly and helpful. Location cannot be beat. Would stay here again.

Yelp
Owner is 3rd generation and very friendly, dish TV for those needed downtime in between visiting the park or roaming around the town. Fridge is good sized and freezer holds a full bag of ice and room for other things like frozen water bottles. Full sized coffee pot , super cute and roomy. Plenty of parking in front of your cabin to help with loading and unloading the car.

Yelp
I can't think of a better place to spend a sick day on a road trip that got as far as Gardiner, MT. The cottage is sweet. It's clean, well kept and quiet. It would be within walking distance of a good breakfast place and the Market, too, if I hadn't gotten sick. The woman who checked me in at the office was kind-hearted and another young man was patient with me when I couldn't return the TV to normal after not having read the perfectly clear instructions they provide about operation of the remote control in the perfectly obvious notebook. The pillows are wonderful and I'm feeling like I'm on the mend, but I really do just want to get home now.

Yelp
Stay in a family owned resort than a cookie cutter hotel at higher prices. Quiet, & clean. So nice to have an individual house (cottage) Walk to dinner & shopping. Easy access to Yellowstone.

Yelp
Charming, ultra-clean, well-lit, well-maintained, and reasonably priced. Excellent location, about a mile from Yellowstone NP north entrance. We booked last-minute for Aug 8 and paid $102 for a one-bedroom with a queen and two singles, which was plenty of room for 2 adults and 2 kids). Kitchenware is available (we didn't ask for it since we were only staying one night). The next morning, someone was weeding the little garden in front of a cottage - this just shows how much TLC these cottages get from the proprietors/caretakers. We would definitely come back here next time and stay a few days.

Yelp
Such a nice stay before heading into Yellowstone. Cottages are clean and well-kept. A bit cramped, maybe. The staff was very friendly. Privacy and quiet was much appreciated.

Yelp
Perfect with everything we needed. Coffee, kitchenette, pots, pans, dishes upon request. Great location in town, can walk everywhere with beautiful views!

Yelp
Good for the location and price. We visited in August, and I did try to get a room in Mammoth Hot Springs, but all in my price range range were already taken, so I found Hillcrest Cottages instead. Its really close to the park entrance, and there was a gas station with mini-mart just across the street which came in handy, since we just missed the grocery store the night we came in and needed top up ice for our cooler. We did get a Ziploc bag of ice from the front desk when we checked in (upon request), but that was only enough for me to drink, with nothing left for our cooler--I do like my ice water!! We got a Queen room and it was TINY and I wish there were more hooks in the bathroom, but it was very similar to our Old Faithful cabin in Yellowstone, with the added luxury of a small microwave and tv. Ask for directions to the river hot springs in the park--its pretty neat!

Yelp
Really cool little cottages to stay in. Reasonably priced and very comfy.

Yelp
Best if you like budget hotels. Considering ynp and other hotels in the area this is a good bargain. Has microwave, mini fridge. If you dont want 120-140 dollar cottages inside YNP, its a good option.

Yelp
50s style tiny, and I mean tiny, cabins a few blocks from the main street in Gardiner. Fine if all you want is an inexpensive place to stay, but the place lacks in many things. Mostly clean, though they didn't come to clean the second day we were there, and there was a small dead bug on the bathroom sink that never got wiped away. But the main problem is room size. If you are two people, each with a decent sized suitcase, you will find that there is nowhere to put a second suitcase. No dresser. A tiny wire rack with only three plastic hangers for hanging things. One itty bitty shelf in the bathroom. The bed is up against the wall on one side, so the person on that side of the bed has to crawl over the other to get to the bathroom. The place would work for one person but is pretty challenging for two.
