Shelf price more than doubled (secretly) at the cash till. I've enjoyed stopping at this market before and understand that some prices are high due to distance from major highways as well as some special items. Today, while buying three items, the third needed confirmation by phone from the owner. Okay - and the price from her was $8 and change. I pointed out that the price on the shelf (label matching, with bar code) was $4.03. The cashier said "those labels need updating sometimes." So, the price at the cash register was 200% + more than the shelf price, which is not updating but instead dishonest and false pricing. If it hadn't been so much more, I wouldn't have noticed. I questioned this, pointed out it was more than twice the marked price, and the cashier shrugged and said he couldn't do anything about it. I put my items back on the shelf and left. I will be reporting the market to Yelp as well as Google as well filing a complaint at the Utah Division of Consumer Protection. A little discrepancy is an error, honest high prices at small businesses are sometimes expected, but this is a blatant violation of the Utah Consumer Sales Practices Act (UCSPA).
