Hillstone Lodge

Hillstone Lodge is nothing short of exceptional. The Isle of Skye is simply a landscape like no other, and lodge is situated in a way that allowed us to absorb many of the features we love about Skye right from our room. The rooms are beautifully designed, the locally-sourced linens/woolens and bath products are perfect, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. ||Bertie and Jana were wonderful - they are genuinely welcoming, attentive, conversational, and consistently went above and beyond and we felt pampered at every turn. We received daily recommendations of not-to-miss hikes and local attractions—always taking into consideration the forecast—and the breakfasts and baked items were scrumptious. They should be teaching the art of hospitality (or at least author a book) - it's that good.||We cannot wait to return!|- Laura & Eric

We stayed at the perfect Hillstone Lodge for 2 nights recently, as it was recommended by our travel agent. From the moment we arrived, Bertie and Jana, made our stay so special. Our room was modern and clean, with stunning views over Loch Dunvegan. Jana’s home made biscuits were a treat. Breakfasts were delicious. The Lodge is close to some excellent restaurants. It was an excellent and relaxing short stay, and one we would highly recommend, when visiting the extraordinary isle of Skye.

Hillstone Lodge is the perfect spot for a stay on Isle of Skye. Bertie and Jana are wonderful hosts and we looked forward to the delicious breakfasts and afternoon treats. Their daily recommendations on day trips were invaluable, and the location was just a short drive to many of the sites and restaurants. We had a lovely room with gorgeous views of the bay. We would return in a heartbeat!

We spent 3 nights at Hillstone Lodge and honestly didn’t want to leave. The place is stunning — beautifully decorated, minimal, and spotless. What really made it special, though, was the service. Bertie and Jana are incredible hosts — warm, welcoming, and genuinely invested in making your stay memorable. They greeted us personally, took the time to chat, and gave us personalized recommendations each day that completely shaped our experience on Skye.||The room was gorgeous, with big windows overlooking Loch Dunvegan — complete with binoculars to spot wildlife (we saw dolphins!). The rain shower was amazing after a long day of exploring. Breakfast was delicious every morning, but the pastries were next level and we’re still thinking about them.||We had a bit of car trouble on the way there, and they checked in on us and made sure everything was okay. That kind of thoughtfulness really sums up the whole experience.||One extra highlight — if you're into whisky, Bertie knows his stuff. He gave us some great recommendations, including a tip to try Bruichladdich while we were heading to Islay — it did not disappoint.||Definitely trust their advice on where to go and what to see — they know the Skye inside and out. We’ll be dreaming of Hillstone Lodge until we can return. Highly, highly recommend.

I can highly recommend a stay with Bertie and Jana! Me and my family truly enjoyed our stay at Hillstone Lodge. It was an extraordinary experience were you could really feel that the B&B is a labour of love and the high focus to detail and service as a basis for everything, truly made our stay enjoyable. Excellent home made breakfast with a lot of options, really clean and luxuirous rooms but most of all a truly personal and nice level of service even including daily itineraries custom made just for our family. Our recent 4 day stay in September was our fourth visit since 2022, which must speak for itself. A beautifully designed modern luxury small hotel offering three gorgeous rooms (we have stayed in all three) and having probably the best view in Skye. Bertie and Jana are both delightful hosts and experienced hoteliers, and it shows in their service and Jana's excellent breakfasts and baking. Highly recommended.

This small lodge is amazing! The rooms are spacious and very modern (up-to-date) and very comfortable. ||But it’s the hospitality of Bertie and Jana that makes this place special. They are excellent hosts, both in the sitting area for drinks or at what can only be described as a 5-star breakfast, cooked to order by Jana. ||On top of all of that, they asked about our other travels on this trip and offered what turned out to be excellent recommendations. ||I highly recommend Bertie, Jana, and their Hillstone Lodge.

We stayed at Hillstone Lodge during a recent trip to Skye, and it was absolutely a highlight of our trip. The location and views are perfect. Bertie & Jana were so helpful and created such a great experience that I highly recommend staying here. They provided great local recommendations and the breakfast each morning was amazing.
