Hilton Amsterdam Airport Schiphol – Review
For a hotel that’s technically “on-site,” the Hilton is definitely the furthest walk — tucked right at the end of the covered tunnel from Schiphol. It’s easy enough, but after a long day of travelling it does feel like the marathon option compared with the others clustered closer.
Check-in was smooth enough, but the guy who checked me in seemed to have a bit of an issue with my name, despite it being exactly the same for the last ten years of being a Hilton Gold member. Nothing major, but it did feel unnecessarily awkward.
Once past that, the hotel itself is genuinely impressive. The interior is stunning — modern, clean lines, loads of space, and a very “Hilton flagship” feel. I was in an Executive Room on the 11th floor, and it was spot-on: spacious, quiet, and with everything you’d expect at this level.
Breakfast was the one let-down. The choice felt oddly limited for a Hilton of this size. Only chicken sausages on offer — no beef or pork for some reason — and the scrambled eggs were far too salty. There was enough to get by, but nothing that made me think, “that’s worth getting up early for.”
Overall though, it’s still a very good hotel, and once you’re inside you do feel like you’re in something a cut above the usual airport offering. Just a couple of service and breakfast tweaks and it’d be excellent.
