This hotel has an excellent, central location near the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square. The breakfast choices were very good. The hotel itself is well-maintained and clean, and I'd like to acknowledge housekeeping for their hard work behind the scenes in keeping it so.
However, despite being supposedly smoke-free, cigarette smoke was unfortunately present in rooms, hallways, and common areas, (Doesn't seem like a policy that's enforced). My primary issue, though, was the consistently disappointing service. It simply wasn't reflective of Hilton's usual high standards. From unassisted luggage handling on departure to a general lack of proactive assistance and staff often preoccupied with personal phones, the service felt reactive and far below a 5-star expectation. While the facilities and location are fantastic, the service significantly fell short.
