I just went down to the front desk to try to remedy this situation:
I am paying for, and was told at check-in I was getting a King Superior room. I am sleeping on a queen-size bed without the amenities their website shows as distinguishing a King Superior from their Wicked Small Queen room (namely, a desk, a mini fridge, and - shockingly - a king bed). The women at the front desk were very nice, but simply insisted that I'm getting the room I booked and am paying for. After repeating several times that "I have a queen bed, I don't have a desk, and I don't have a fridge, the room is the size of a shoebox," the manager admitted that there are no desks in even the King Superior and that the website is misleading.
They offered to bring up a fridge, but the only place I can see they could put it is on the small patch of floor near the bed. This room is TINY. I asked them to come with me to see the room, citing possible misindexing of the room in their computer system, and was told by the manager that she has seen all the rooms and knows I'm in the right one.
Further, they text upon check-in with a link to the hotel amenities. I perused the menu of the lobby restaurant and decided to have dinner there. The bill was considerably larger than I expected, and when I compared it to the menu on the website, the prices were significantly higher. When I inquired about that, I was told they hadn't updated the website they *send to all their guests* with the higher prices.
I hate feeling like a cheapskate, chasing all these discrepancies, but I hate even more that they are so sloppy - possibly fraudulent - in their published products and pricing.
