Hilton Budapest

"A UNESCO World Heritage Site with a Baroque facade, this former Dominican church in the Royal Castle District looks onto the Danube and is close to medieval attractions such as Matthias Church. With "views to die for," the "clean and comfortable rooms" are decorated in white and cream tones. "Music wafts through the night air from the evening entertainment at the castle and surrounding plaza—delightful!" Icon uses local ingredients in dishes such as duck breast with lavender-scented panna cotta, though there are "great restaurants within strolling distance." "Staff treated us like royalty."

AMAZING HOTEL First as a diamond member I booked the lowest room but got upgraded to a suite (please ask nicely)!! The suites room was big and had an AMAZING view to the parliament house across the river. We also got 2 welcome drinks at the White Haven Bar -> the view from the bar was even better! The executive lounge was also excellent, the food was better than the average Hilton lounges, fried chicken, ravioli to name a few! Breakfast was good (normal breakfast in Europe). Free umbrella, great customer service overall. Location -> we took the bus, walking up would be hard as it is in an uphill. Walking down would be easy. PS because the hotel was so good, we stayed in the hotel more than we planned to instead of exploring the city!!

I had a wonderful stay at Hilton Budapest. Room 216 was excellent—comfortable, clean, and well-maintained. The bar staff were fantastic, friendly, and attentive, which really added to the experience. Check-in was smooth and hassle-free, setting the tone for the rest of the stay.||The location is unbeatable, right in the heart of the historic Castle District. Being on the hill means you get incredible views and a peaceful setting, but keep in mind the walk back up can be steep. If you’re not up for it, a quick taxi ride solves that easily.||Breakfast was excellent with a wide variety of fresh options, making mornings something to look forward to.||Overall, Hilton Budapest combines comfort, great service, and a perfect location. I’d happily stay again!

Everything was absolutely lovely! We celebrated my husbands 50th birthday there. I had arranged with the hotel for a little surprise for him and everything was done amazingly. The staff were very sweet and helpful and the views from the bar were fabulous. It was a special experience.

We didn't have a good start as we were given a room which looked on to a brick wall. Thankfully after complaining we were moved. The new room had great views over Budapest. The hotel is in a good location and if you need to get across the river there is a bus every 2 minutes and it is free to anyone over 60!! There is a rooftop bar but you have to book! Breakfast wasn't great. The service left a lot to be desired. There was tinned pineapple and the water you used to get tea was not hot. I got the impression they were cutting corners. The person doing the eggs did not seem confident so we refrained from using him. It wouldn't take much to improve the experience at this hotel but at the minute I would not recommend this as a 5 star hotel. However, Budapest is a gorgeous city.

Hotel is ok and most of the staff are polite and hardworking. I’d recommend skipping breakfast and eating your meals elsewhere. The quality of the food is extremely poor, e.g. cappuccinos without milk, stale cereal, toast with no butter and worryingly brown marmalade. Service is also incredibly poor leaving us to walk out while 5 waiters chatter amongst themselves. I’d suggest save your money and use the Starbucks directly below it for breakfast or one of the local restaurants for other meals.

This hotel should be brilliant, given the location and the Hilton brand, but unfortunately that wasn’t our experience. The hotel rooms are well equipped and very comfortable; the area is quiet. It’s the service which has led me to give the hotel three out of five. We arrived just after 10:00 following our Viking river cruise knowing that our room would not be ready at that time. However when we tried to check in at 13:00 we were told that Viking customers were not allowed to check in until 15:00, which was somewhat disappointing. This is the first hotel (of many, in various countries) which has not permitted us to check in an hour or two before official check in time. The following morning we found the breakfast room disorganised; it was unclear whether tables were already occupied and some tables which were not occupied had not been cleared. The fresh fruit selection was poor, and the egg station was producing omelettes which weren’t thoroughly cooked. The rooftop Sky Bar, which is part of the hotel, is understandably popular and often booked up well in advance. Could part of the Sky Bar be set aside for Hilton guests? I feel that those paying to stay at the hotel should have some priority over those staying elsewhere. Finally, I had to seriously question the quality of the service when, on the last night of our stay, we left the bar after having a drink, and were followed by a member of staff shouting that we hadn’t settled our bar bill. We told him that we had, of course, given our room number and signed the paperwork; he checked with a colleague who confirmed that we HAD settled our bill. No apology was offered to us by the staff member, though, to the hotel’s credit, they waived the cost of the two drinks on checkout. Such a pity that this embarrassing incident happened in the first place.

it was an amazing experience at Hilton Budapest. The hotel not only offers a stunning location with breathtaking views over the Danube and the city, but also outstanding service. A special thanks to Lenard, whose attentiveness, kindness and professionalism made this stay truly unforgettable. You can really feel his genuine joy in taking care of guests – it turned the birthday into something extraordinary. Also thanks to Szabolcs for the kind and professional support during checkout. I can highly recommend Hilton Budapest and I’m already looking forward to my next visit!

This hotel has the best location of any hotel in Budapest. It alone is worth the visit to this city. The views from the hotel are stunning, especially the rooftop, a must visit. The hotel and especially the surrounding area get crazy during the weekend so visiting on weekdays is highly recommended.
