The Cheapest Nicest All-Inclusive Resorts, From Crete to Cancun

"Of her time at the Hilton Cancun, an All-Inclusive Resort, Lara Kramer notes that this is the perfect place to stay if your idea of a vacation is to make as few decisions as possible. Nestled into a mangrove forest and abutting the sea, the Hilton Cancun is a vacationer’s paradise. Amongst the 12 dining experiences that offer free food and drink with your stay, there’s mixed grills and trattorias. No spa is onsite, but you’ll be free to wander over to the Waldorf Astoria’s next door and book an experience there for a fee."

Hilton Cancun, an All-Inclusive Resort

"Why book?  This is the place to be if you like gorgeous oceanfront pool views, smiles from every staff member, thoughtful restaurant options, and—most importantly—to sit back and make very few decisions for the duration of your stay.  Set the scene  Tucked deep in a mangrove forest, the property sits on the ocean’s edge nestled amongst the trees and not much else. Everything you need during your stay is accessible right on the property—from dining, entertainment, ocean sports, spa splurges, and lazy pool days. Drawing a vacationing crowd, you’ll find a lot of couples, young families, and the occasional friend group looking to get the perfect tan and delight in the true decadence of an all-inclusive.  The rooms  From ocean views to private swim-up patios, whether you’re looking to sleep two or  six people you’ll find a wide range of accommodation offerings throughout the 715 rooms and suites on property. With a focus on light wood and creams, all rooms are minimalist, yet thoughtfully designed. We stayed in the Deluxe Ocean Front Suite, a generous 860-square-foot option featuring a large living room area with sofa and dining table, a king-sized bed and sitting area, and two bathrooms—all topped off by sweeping ocean front views.  Food and drink  There is no shortage of access to food and drinks, a key staple of any all-inclusive. With 12 unique dining experiences, including five specialty restaurants, a can’t-miss ice cream and churro shop, and of course the classic buffet experience, you can forget the feeling of hunger for the duration of your stay. All food and drinks are included in your booking, though some of the specialty restaurants do offer extra menu options for an additional fee. If you don’t want to spend an extra dime, you'll be very well attended to by all the standard offerings. Plan ahead for reservations at the specialty restaurants, as walk-ins can be hit or miss depending on the night. Auma, the dark and moody steakhouse restaurant, is set around a beautiful open-fire kitchen—the grilled vegetable plate was an unexpected delight, full of flavor and textures that make this a steakhouse for vegetarians and carnivores alike. If you find yourself back in your room after a long day, warm and cozy in your pajamas with a tinge of sunburn, and your tummy starts grumbling, you can plunder your in-room mini bar (which is restocked daily) or order room service, all at no additional cost.  The spa  While Hilton Cancun doesn’t have their own spa directly onsite, all guests have access to the beautiful spa at the Waldorf Astoria right next door. Situated in a stunning garden oasis, it features eight indoor and 13 outdoor treatment rooms, all using locally sourced oils and fresh herbs from the onsite garden. You can book a plethora of body and skin treatments and salon indulgences, but be sure to schedule extra time simply to enjoy the spa’s facilities—an incredible outdoor pool and lounge area that you’ll never want to leave.  The neighborhood/area  As mentioned, the property is fairly isolated. Which, if you’re looking to take full advantage of an all-inclusive, is frankly ideal. However, if you’re itching to leave the property and spend a day in nearby Cancun, you’ll need to plan ahead for transportation as walking into town is not an option but there is a tour company right onsite to help with any excursion needs.  The service  Service is relaxed and friendly. The staff exuded positivity and was truly never without a smile.  It’s also worth noting that all staff I interacted with were bilingual and happy to converse in Spanish or English, depending on your preference.   For families  Hilton prides itself on its family friendliness, whether you're traveling with a young child or a teen. Their complimentary Kid’s Club is available for kids 4-12 and offers a colorful and bright space where kids can craft, lounge on bean bags, try their luck at the gaming stations, and even practice their Spanish. Just outside of the Kid’s Club you’ll find the property’s dedicated family splash playground, which is a water wonderland featuring slides, water toys, and beach games. If you have an older child, the property offers a dedicated TeensZone space for ages 13-17 where teens have a relaxed area to watch TV, play video and board games, and compete at the ping pong tables, all available on a come and go as you wish basis.  Eco effort  All rooms come with recycled glass bottles of complimentary water that the property cleans and repurposes. Additionally, the property has its own dedicated water plant run by a specialized supplier as a sustainable irrigation system throughout the property. Accessibility  Hilton Cancun prides itself on being ADA compliant, with designated rooms that have roll-in showers and braille signage. Throughout the property, there are also key areas dedicated to accessibility including an accessible concierge desk, exercise facilities, dining, parking, and more. You can see a full list of the property’s efforts here." - Lara Kramer

Hilton Cancun was an amazing experience for our family. We looked at hotels for a while and ended up here at the last minute after we left our first resort due to not liking the food and the rooms, so we are definitely picky when it comes to quality. Hilton was a great choice and you get so much quality for the room rate! We visited with our one year old daughter and loved it. The room was absolutely beautiful, the decor, clean modern look was very new and updated compared to most Cancun hotels . Let’s start with the food! We were very happy with the food from the buffets to the restaurants and the drinks were absolutely delicious. The steakhouse was our favorite restaurant, the quality of the food was top notch and service was impeccable . The fish tacos at lunch were our favorite. The kids club was also really nice but our daughter was too young to stay but she still got to visit during family hours and enjoyed it. The hotel property itself it has one of the most beautiful lobbies I’ve seen and the rest of the hotel matched that. It’s not a huge resort but big enough to walk to everything from your room. The restaurants are all accessible inside the hotel, I think there are just 4. The workout facilities are also very nice and they have some great classes available. ||Things that could be better, the pool gets very crowded and if you don’t put a towel down early you won’t get a seat. I don’t like that because some people are gone all day from their seat and it’s really frustrating. Reserving a restaurant also was very frustrating. We had to hustle to get downstairs at 8 am to meet with concierge to book a reservation and they never were clear on how this works when I checked in because I kept getting different answers. The day time activities we’re great but it was always hard to find out what was going on in the evenings, we were so frustrated we ate dinner in the buffet but then had no idea there was a whole Mexican themed dinner with music set up in the ballroom, therefore we were too full to eat again. It would be nice knowing that. I’d also say this resort is big enough to maybe need 2 more restaurants so they don’t get booked up so much. People complained about the beach on reviews but this resort was so great I didn’t miss it. You won’t be disappointed if you book this stay!! We will definitely be back!!

Incredible view from the modern and well appointed room. Front desk was helpful with any questions and Marcos helped us to access facilities before our check-in time at 3pm. Restaurant service was friendly and rapid. Guadalupe and Fernando made us feel welcome at La Luce (Italian on site restaurant). My family enjoyed the buffet at Vela and the pasta at La Luce the most. Location is somewhat remote but that is a benefit in many ways as the whole area feels natural and quiet.

This is our fourth time staying at this hotel, and we’ll definitely keep coming back. Last year we tried another all-inclusive in Cancun, and before that we went to the Dominican Republic and Jamaica, but for some reason we always end up back here. The hotel is beautiful, the food selection is amazing, and it doesn’t even feel like your typical all-inclusive. The restaurants are great, and the service is outstanding. Olivia, our pool cocktail server, she is the best! Sitting by the pool with a frozen mango margarita honestly felt like living the dream. My 9-year-old daughter also wanted to thank Ms. Dixie and Ms. Ruby at the kids club. She loved it there and said everyone was super nice. This hotel really made it a family vacation for us. My husband and I got to relax and enjoy the resort while the kids were having the best time at the club. Huge thanks to the whole team, and of course to the leadership here for keeping the place clean, well taken care of, and for always making sure guests have such a great experience.

Alejandra was absolutely fantastic, she made our experience memorable and fun. Her recommendations were phenomenal, she was so attentive and funny! We could not have asked for a better waitress. Candi made the best drinks ever, we could not have asked for better service. The drinks were delicious and left us tipsy 🤪 🙃 😋 Chef Aldo is talented, the food was incredible, so delicious, breakfast, lunch and dinner were all on point, best food ever!!! I spent 6 nights at this wonderful hotel and every second was memorable and enjoyable. I will miss the food the most 😆 🤣 😂 I definitely recommend this place and these fantastic individuals they are the best 👌

Excellent option for families with small children. Lots of entertainment and great amenities. I would like to give a shout out to the Kids Club and their staff (Arge, Nath,Dixie, Rubi, Gris, Eli) who were amazing to my 5 year old daughter. She loved going to the kids club and never wanted to leave. I highly recommend this resort. I’d definitely go back in a heartbeat

Our stay at the Hilton Cancun was absolutely wonderful! The hotel is beautiful, modern, and spotless. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome — always friendly and attentive. The food options were delicious with so much variety, and the drinks were amazing too. The pools and beach were stunning, and there were plenty of activities for both kids and adults. It truly felt like a luxury experience with a warm and relaxing atmosphere. We can’t wait to come back! 🌴☀️✨

Fernando and Alejandro took great care of us at La Luce! Food was delicious and service was exceptional. They offered us all La Luce had to offer, and included my 2 year old in the experience. Antonio at Maxal was more that wonderful. He gave us excellent service at the buffet, bringing us drinks and helping me with my little one by bringing him fries and juice. He explained some of the food to us, and kept our table clean. Salvador at Vela was very diligent with everything. He cleared plates, gave us fresh juice and coffee, and stopped by the table many times. Velasquez and Nancy were amazing by the pool. They brought us drinks and made suggestions for some beverages that I had never had. They asked if we needed anything very frequently, allowing me to stay in the pool with my son a little longer.

I had the pleasure of staying here in October of 2024 and absolutely loved it. We traveled here with our toddler, my mother who is 60 +, and of course my husband and my self and found it was entertaining and accommodating for everyone in the different age groups. We had a room with the ocean view and it was great to sit there and watch the sun rise and set. Food was excellent, drinks were great! Beach front, it was our anniversary and the bellman remembered and brought us chocolates and wine to celebrate, made our day. They had a family pool and adults only pool. During our stay, I found that the hotel was very even for adults and children/elders, which made the overall ambience nice and relaxed. Would absolutely recommend this hotel and stay again
