I almost canceled our reservation here after reading some of the bad reviews. Deal breakers for me would have been roaches and broken air conditioning. Luckily, we did not encounter either. Our room was great. Very clean. Air conditioning blew a cold 70 degrees. The service was amazing and I was impressed with the amenities based on the price. They had 11am and 2pm activities for kids each day, along with a nightly dive-in movie at the pool. You could go kayaking for free and there were towels provided for the beach and pool. The pool was awesome and we loved the pool bar. Plus, you can beat the location. Right on the beach and close to Pier 60. The hotel is not as modern looking as some of the others but our room was updated with USB ports and we had no complaints.

The hotel is old. Let me say that 1st so you know what to expect. It was a Holiday Inn refurbished ages ago to a Hilton. That said, I'm a Hilton diamond member, so this vacation with my family, I traveled on points. The rooms with double beds actually have double beds, not queens. Denzil was amazing at upgrading our room, when it was available, to a suite, which was perfect for our family of 4. The pool always had plenty of seats available, and you can rent cabanas and chairs for the beach. Fantastic bars in the hotel, Aileen at Coasters makes the best Filthy Martinis and provides great conversion. At the pool bar, Yoga, Luna, and Eric made sure we never went without whether it was a cup of ice or a mixed drink. Lena in the valet was wonderful in accommodating our family, and we can not thank her enough for that. Our girls, 14 and 16, had a blast. I may be spoiled with my business travel, but the week we stayed here created memories we will have forever.

Decided to take my daughter for her 1st beach trip so needed a hotel right on the water to go back and forth easily. As a Hilton honors member I decided on this property as its perfect location. With that being said the hotel is outdated, gross and staff did not give expected service. We arrived and there was the longest wait for someone from valet to get your car and you have no choice you have to Valet ($39 a night) not bad but I don’t like having options. Check in was disappointing no friendly faces just “over here” no thank you for being a Hilton honors member or anything. No big deal but not use to that level of service from Hilton. They charge a resort fee that can only be used for stuff I have no interest in like yoga and non motorized water sports (none available). You can’t even use it at the store for a beverage. The hotel had used dirty beach towels on the floor and smelled really funny but they try to mask it with an aroma diffuser. We got to the room and it looked dingy, dirty and small. Not what I was hoping for especially bringing my baby for a stay. When they came to service the room we told them don’t worry about it and asked for our 2 waters we get daily and they told us we had to walk down from the 8th floor to the lobby for it. When I called the front desk they told me the cleaners bring them to us but guess we had a lazy cleaner who didn’t want to get it for us. Everything is an additional cost nothing included and it’s a rip off. Only good thing about this hotel is the location honestly. Definitely don’t plan on returning and reconsidering going to any Hilton in the future. TV in room barley worked due to clouds outside

I have stayed here several times. It's definitely all about the location which is EXCELLENT. However, I don't think that the room and parking prices reflect the rooms. Although the rooms were clean, they definitely need to be upgraded. Also, rooms need smart TV's. The staff is very nice! I do like staying here but maybe they will consider these changes for the future.

If you are a "it's just a place to lay your head at night" kind of person, then stop reading, and just book your stay. The best thing about Hilton Clearwater is the location. Right on the beach, cool Tiki Bar, and nice pool. The front desk, and beach staff were kind, as were the bartenders at the pool. Super nice people :) However.... The rooms were 2 stars, AT BEST in my opinion. We were able to do an early check in, which we were grateful for- got into our (1st) room, at 10:00am. Upon walking in the room, we were immediately hit w/ a strong, musty smell- No problem. we can over come that. The rooms felt old, and motel-ish. Opened up the curtain to the small balcony, that does hold 2 chairs and a table, only to see were facing a poop covered rooftop that must have housed air conditioners, w/ just a sliver of ocean view. Mind you- we did reserve a gulf view, NOT FRONT FACING. So, if you want a full view, make sure you book that. Walked into the bathroom, and hallway, and that's where it fell apart.. hair all over the floor, (not mine... just walked in), there was a pimple patch.. yes, a used pimple patch, stuck to the counter top in the bathroom. Yellow stains on the counter. One of the beds had a very large, visible stain on the comforter, and the pillow case looked like it was ran over by a tire. Tried calling the front desk, but the in room phones did not work. So, off I go, back down to the lobby, and inquire about another room. (side note, the lobby does have a wonderful "lobby" smell, but the couches MUST BE REPLACED! I swear, it looked like someone had slept on them the night before. NOT the first thing you want to see when you are checking in- it kinda sets the tone.) The gentleman that assisted was very kind, and kept his cool, when I was a bit flustered. I had overheard him having a similar conversation w/ another family in front of me. We were moved to another room, with a much better view- room configuration the same, as was the datedness. We unpacked.. Housekeeping was hard to find- we had to track them down daily to request service, and on our last night, I spoke to 3 housekeeping folks, who were on our floor, as well as the front desk... they never came. Engineering came though, to fix our bathroom light- which looked like a strobe light when you turned it on. Couldn't turn the light on for 2 days. Again, the location is key here- loved being able to walk just about anywhere. Beach rentals (cabanas/chairs) were a bit pricey, but when in Rome, right?! We did the "Full Beach Package"- Cabana, bed, 2 chairs, and a table = $251 for the day. The grounds were lovely, and they did a very nice job of keeping things clean, swept, dry- Kuddos to the staff. We ate at the Spotted Donkey- again, great service, and the food was very good. Drinks at the pool bar were about $17 each. We would come back to Clearwater, but I think we'd stay elsewhere.

This was my second stay at this hotel. The valet parking is an extra fee, but is so convenient and the valet staff is quick and friendly. The hotel is in a prime location and once settled in is within walking distance to many restaurants, shops and most importantly the beach. We rented an umbrella and chairs on the beach effortlessly and the staff quickly got us set up for the day. There is a drink cart that goes around which makes relaxing on the beach more enjoyable! The room was clean and the view from the balcony was good. There is a Starbucks in the hotel which was perfect for morning coffee. We will definitely be back!

**YOU HAVE TO RENT THEIR BEACH CHAIRS, they do not come with your stay. Approx $80 for 2 PER DAY. Absolutely insane** There was approx. 45 of us that stayed there this past week for a wedding. Immediately upon arrival we were thoroughly disappointed. The hotel is SO dated. Whoever is in charge of their marketing/pictures need a raise because we felt completely blindsided. The rooms are extremely small, very outdated, and cleanliness standards were not up to par. I will add that the beds were comfy though! “Gulf view” was actually a view of a parking lot, but if you looked far enough to the side you could see the ocean. Balcony was extremely dated. Hotel check in immediately rubbed us the wrong way as the clerk was rude and combative when questioned about pricing (initially given a different price upon booking) and then refused to print a receipt with pricing broke down. Most all the rest of the staff was friendly. Location was great and within walking distance of several shops and restaurants. Overall, I would not stay here again because I have truthfully stayed in better Super 8 Motels. Hilton has seriously dropped the ball on this one and for the price and Hilton reputation, we expected SO much more.

I have been going to this hotel for years and it is my favorite place to go and get away. After reading some of the more recent reviews giving it 1 star, I almost considered cancelling as many describe the hotel as old and smelly. THANK GOODNESS I did not cancel! It was a GREAT weekend! Our room was very clean and comfortable. The people were so nice and the food and drinks were delicious. I am dying to go back now! Yes, it can be pricey for some things but the location and amenities are well worth it! Though we did not get a room overlooking the water, it was more fun having a room overlooking the street and watching all the activity going on. It is still my favorite hotel to get away and swim with da fishies!

Yelp
We stayed at the Hilton Clearwater Beach in December, and while the hotel room itself was nice, some aspects of our stay left us feeling underwhelmed. The $35/day activity fee includes a variety of amenities and activities, but since it was too cold during our visit, we didn't get to take advantage of them. Unfortunately, there didn't seem to be any children's activities available during our stay, and none were listed on the printed information we received at check-in. The $29/day parking fee felt excessive, especially since it only covered valet parking, which required additional tipping. I might consider returning in the future, but only during warmer months when the activity fee could actually be worth it. For a December visit, it didn't feel like the best value.

Yelp
Internet not included?? We have a "king" with the balcony but it overlooks all the a/c units for the hotel and is so noisy we cannot enjoy it. The room is old and needs updating, the lobby is attractive, but the age is showing. There is a restaurant and a full bar, and the views from the back restaurant seating are lovely.

Yelp
First off reviews on this app are super mixed. I was nervous! That said, we couldn't have had a better experience. It was a great stay! Lena the concierge and Delilah were so helpful and very nice. Their customer service was top notch. The room was clean and I loved our view. We were on the 8th floor facing intercostal & street view and was fun to people watch. From this view we were able to see the sunrise every morning from the balcony. Lots of complaints about the $35 resort fee daily. This was per room, not per person. I thought it was worth it and was aware before check in, so my expectations set. I participated in beach yoga daily at 8am. Sign up was simple. At 11am and 2pm there is a kids activity or game. At around 8pm daily there is a "dive in" movie by the pool. The kids loved that! Pool is open till 10pm. They also have bikes you can use, included with your stay! There is a beautiful bike path along the water. The hotel also has kyacking and paddle boarding included in the stay. My kids loved it. The beachchair, umbrella and cabana prices were a bit high for me, and not included in the resort fee, but I took my own beach blanket and went down closer to water. I spent most of my time in the water, so all good. I do think it would be great if chairs were included in the stay or as part of the resort fee. Water at the beach is as clear as it is in the Caribbean. White sand and beautiful sea shells. A dolphin swam right past me in the water. I'll never get over it. Hospitality at the hotel was outstanding. There was live music daily right by the tiki bar, which was exceptional. Grab a drink, grab a seat, watch the sunset and listen to live music. I suggest bringing a few dollars for cash tips, but you can charge eveything back to your room. There is pool side bar and Mason and all his fellow servers were great. They all were welcoming, worked quickly, made great drinks and had great customer service. Lots of frozen options. The cleaning crew kept the bathrooms and facilities clean. Even the valet team was friendly. The pool kids menu was reasonably priced. $9-$10 for a cheeseburger and fries, hotdog, chicken fingers, etc... The lobby bar and restaurant was super convenient and well decorated-sexy atmosphere and beautiful view of the beach - indoor and outdoor seating. Prices were decent. My son enjoyed the lobby bars cheese pizza and when it rained the live music came inside, so that was nice. The singing talent, Matt, was phenomenal and took so many of our song requests. My daughter and I took advantage of the onsite hibiscus spa. We both got miniature facials with Megan. We enjoyed the steam shower in their locker room. Megan did a great job and made my daughter very comfortable, as it was her first facial. Bibiana at the spa reception was lovely. The hotel is close to so many restaurants, stores and bars. Great for family. The Starbucks is right downstairs, along with a Mexican restaurant, Spotted Donkey. The local Walgreens has a full liquor store in it. It's huge. There is an arcade down the street in the plaza across from the sand Pearl hotel, which is 2-3 blocks down the main strip. There are several cigar lounges in area, and great bars both on and off the beach for watching a game or just hanging out. Lots of great seafood places and all of it is within walking distance. You do not need a car. There is a trolley that runs up and down the strip. We didn't get a chance to use it, but would love to on my way back. We loved the clear water cafe down the street, and frenchies salt water cafe, and they were so close to the hotel. The beach shanty cafe across the street from the Hilton was also very good and did a great breakfast. The location of this resort is super convenient for everything. We will be back without question. Thank you Hilton.

Yelp
So I am now looking at the reviews AFTER I had to stay at this hotel due to the hotel I was booked into cancelled my reservation for 1 night due the hurricane issues. They lady from the Courtyard Marriott suggested I try out this hotel as an alternative. I am Hilton Gold which is mid-tier for hilton, I am Titanium for Life with Marriott so that is always my first choice. I booked for 1 night with points and when checking in we were offered an upgrade to a top floor suite. Wow, so nice!! They also gave us $30 credit in the bar (including alcohol) and waived the resort fee for my status. What a room, huge!! we were sad to leave to go the Courtyard Marriot where everyone from the wedding party was staying to a normal room. I see some of the reviews are about nickel and dime but for us we just didn't experience that.

Yelp
Dirty, old hotel. The only reason we stayed here for one night is because we needed to be in the area and it was next to Pier 60. The one star was for their heated pool in January.

Yelp
Initially we were put in a room that had a lot wrong with it. -The room smelled like someone had smoked a marijuana joint in it recently, -the bathroom door is a sliding door with smoked glass. It was difficult to open and close, squeaked a lot. We couldn't leave the bathroom light on at night because of the glass that let all the light through so it was pitch black. We had to stumble our way to and from the bathroom in the night. - There was supposed to be a hook high up on the bathroom wall but it was missing and there was just a hole in the wall. - The bathroom sink didn't drain properly and the plug/stopper wouldn't really go up and down. - The phone didn't work. Maintenance came and said the whole phone line was dead. - There was little to no wifi in the room that came and went. After speaking with the front desk, we were later moved to another room with a MUCH nicer view of the beach. The room smelled good, the bathroom door opened and closed easily, there was no missing hook. The wi fi was better in this room but kept dropping. There was a ringing sound whenever the bathroom light was on but it wasn't too terrible. The phone in this room also did not work so any time we needed to ask the front desk for something we had to use our own phones. We very much appreciated being moved to this room. The rooms overall were small and a bit cramped for a family of 4 but the beds and pillows were comfortable. The staff that we interacted with were friendly, polite, and very helpful. In valet parking Lena, Mike, and a Welsh lady (didn't catch her name) were all super friendly with us. Philip was AMAZING in the recreation department. Extremely patient with all the kids, he put together an incredibly fun scavenger hunt for families to do, every day there 2 craft activities to do, he was professional and organized. I was very impressed. Another thing worth mentioning - there is a separate pool for kids, a max of 3.5 feet deep. It was absolutely perfect for my kids who are not great swimmers and it was heated to perfection. The hotel is on the beach so there is no need to cross a busy, two-directional traffic street to get to it and my kids played in the sand for hours!

Yelp
I visited the Hilton Clearwater Beach Resort with my husband for a Saturday night getaway from Tampa. A quick night at the beach. We like to stay here because of the amenities. We do beach yoga in the morning which is included in the resort fee, so are bikes and non-motorized water toys like stand up paddle boards. They let us check in early typically and since we diamond members we normally get a room upgrade. All the things needed to get out of Tampa and to the beach for a one night getaway. The hotel is walking distance to a bunch of restaurants and bars and even a Walgreens. No need to drive once you are here. Comfortable beds and the rooms have been remodeled.

Eric W.

Yelp
Shockingly bad food. Bad banquet food. Bad room service food. Very unhealthy, overcooked and dry entrees. Cold food. Service employees very responsive.

Carlie R.

Yelp
The outside restaurant at Hilton Clearwater hotel is a must-visit whether you're on vacation or seeking a nice meal with stunning views. The ambiance is fantastic, offering incredible vistas that enhance the dining experience. I tried the boom boom shrimp tacos, and they were simply amazing--packed with flavor and perfectly prepared. The service was top-notch, adding to the overall excellence of the meal. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a memorable dining experience coupled with breathtaking views

Mary I.

Yelp
Stayed in Room 812 as a Hilton Honors Member. Staff is great! Housekeeping provided extra towels quickly. We did upgrade for a breach and ocean view. It was amazing! We also enjoyed the 6th floor open air bar and restaurant! 3 days and we were sad to leave! We are from Orlando - so we are use to a la carte prices for parking, drinks @$14 and taxes. We will be visiting again! thanks for the great stay!

A F.

Yelp
Beach was open, lots of people were on the sand, some even in the water. Pier still closed. We loved grabbing a drink from the pool bar and sitting at one of the hotel's umbrella tables on the beach. Pelicans and silly seagulls were a joy to watch. Hotel was centrally located on the beach so it was very walkable. Room was clean and comfortable, staff was friendly. The valet was prompt, good service. We were able to get a late checkout, which was wonderful for our schedule. We got to choose our room in the app, but the digital keys don't work - you have to get physical keys. Some elevators were down but waiting wasn't too bad. Internet is included in the resort fee. The hotel is quite large, with connected bars, Starbucks, and restaurant (Spotted Donkey, delicious). The lobby was beautiful and open. The main negative was the LOUD bar across the street at night. A small negative was bird poop on our balcony. Yet, would stay here again!

Jesse K.

Yelp
We stayed for three nights in August when we came down for a soccer match in Tampa. Definitely not the cheapest place to stay but you are paying for being directly on the beach. After reading other reviews I was prepared for the $195 resort fee as well as the $29 a night mandatory valet charge. This is on top of the cost for the room. I agree with other Yelpers that beach chairs could be included in the resort fee. Instead, for a mere $91 we got an umbrella and two chairs to use for the whole day. Bring cash because you will be tipping people left and right. My companion got a massage that was reasonably priced (not included in the resort fee of course) and the masseuse David was great. I went to the tiki bar on the beach, spilled my fresh drink all over the bar and they provided me another on the house, which was nice. The bar inside the hotel was fine and the kitchen is open reasonably late on weekends. I could care less if the rooms are dated. I don't come to the beach to inspect the paint on the wall or the bathroom fixtures in the hotel room. It's just a place to sleep. The AC blew cold, we couldn't hear people in other rooms, and the bed was surprisingly comfortable. Everything was clean. The tv was pretty big for the size of the room. Restaurants and shopping were all conveniently close and we were able to walk everywhere including the Clearwater Aquarium. Everything is wicked expensive in this touristy area (drinks are $14 without tip), but that's standard these days. All in all the staff we interacted with were all friendly and helpful. I did feel a little "nickel and dimed" by all the charges. The location is great.

Daniel J.

Yelp
Came here at the last minute, booked a room the day of check-in. Was under the expectation that the balcony room had a ocean / beach view. I guess this can be subjective because the view we had was a partial beach view but also mainly a parking lot view..but also a we had a view of the pier. I believe their description of the room should be updated to reflect partial. The room itself was average and needs updated. I agree with other reviews that the rooms here need updating. The bathroom is standard..the balconies need pressure washing. The balcony sliding door need to be changed out. When we first checked in to our room after a long and tiring drive our sheets were dirty with smeared dust on the pillows. It took about 2 hrs for housekeeping to come and change out the sheets. The lady was nice and also brought us some extra towels. The hotel is a decent resort, conveniently located right on the beach and in walking distance to the Clearwater Beach Pier. There's lots of activities on the property...in the middle of May it seems pretty crowded at the resort. We initially were gonna stay 2 nights but that night we modified our stay to just 1 night and checkout out. For the amount of money we were paying we were not pleased with our room. As a Hilton Honors member for 10+ yrs I usually search for Hilton hotels when I travel somewhere. But I may have to rethink this as Hilton hotels are starting to become only mediocre. I personally would not stay at this hotel again unless it was a super low rate under $300 a night. It seems that the Avg rate for this time of the year is around $400-500 per night for standard rooms.

Diana J.

Yelp
I will start with the positives- great location in the heart of Clearwater and on the beach. Nothing quite beats everything in walking distance and waking up to the sound of seagulls. Every single member of the parking valet and bar staff was friendly and made you feel welcome. The drinks at the beach bar were hand blended and delicious. The hotel room needed updating but was clean and cool. Now for the negatives. You have to pay for each chair on the beach. There is no seating unless you rent a chair or a beach package for $250.00. I feel the daily resort fee you pay should at least include some seating at the beach. For seating at the pool you have to go through another person. You are either charged or expected to tip if they find you a seat. This does not make the resort family friendly or affordable. The staff at check in was not very hospitable and got our booked room wrong. We booked two double beds but we're provided a king bed. The bell hop also almost ran us over trying to rush through the door. The hotel appears to be tip motivated rather then customer service centered. I probably will seek other accommodations when traveling to Clearwater.

Yelp
This is a very average hotel with a superior location. Elevators are super slow, very small check in desk, and 29 dollars a day to park your car! Bathroom was tiny and the furniture has seen better days. The pool is small. rarely any chairs available. We stayed two nights because we went to a concert at the Sound, but probably wouldn't stay here again.

John C.

Yelp
I should have looked to Yelp first. Hotel is a 1970's renovation. Rooms are tiny for the $400+ price. Bathrooms have sliding barn doors that you can hear and smell everything. The toilet flush valves are super loud. Wife keeps telling me "it's the location". Which it is a great location but for what they charge you can find better. Nothing near high-end about this place.

Robert S.

Yelp
Did a quick trip to Clearwater for the night and picked Hilton Clearwater Beach Resort and I must say it's not a bad hotel. Love being right on the beach, and spent most the time on the beach. The only downside was my room had balcony and the door does not secure all the way I can hear the club across the street all night. Then first thing in the morning all the truck traffic. Not as restfully trip as I wanted.

Amber S.

Yelp
Requested a Gulf View room. Instead we received super loud HVAC units, no sun & limited Gulf view. Not worth the price considering I have previously paid the same price and received a Gulf View room. In my opinion, this is a Partial Gulf with a City View.

Keith C.

Yelp
Front desk manager is a smart ass and needs to be FIRED. We were told when we checked in that we had already paid resort fee. As in, we already PAID for it. I asked twice. Upon checking out thar fee was charged. But that wasn't the issue. The issue was when we told the manager he said "who checked you in?", I said I dont have a name. He rolled his eyes, put up his hands, and made a complete jackass out of himself. So I suggested that he properly train all of the employees. He replied that he already did. Carpet in room needs replacing, AC doesn't get cold, toilet seat was loose, tv remotes don't work (we tried 3 of them) SPECIAL TIP: Ask for South side pool view otherwise you may get crap

Alyana S.

Yelp
I was overall impressed with the lobby and customer service upon my arrival. Here are the pros and cons of Hilton: 1. I love the location and it is in the center of everything such as restaurants and bars in Clearwater! 2. It's right on the beach and you have immediate beach access! 3. Lobby has a restaurant and bar plus they have Tommy's Tiki on the beach too! Plus there's a Starbucks around the corner too. 4. They have wrist to use for room key so you'll have your room key with easy access when you go to the beach and you don't have to worry about losing your key card. 5. It's easy to charge stuff to your room which can be great but dangerous at the same time if you're planning to visit the restaurants or bars on the resort. Improvements: 1. Everything else such as the lobby is updated but their rooms can use a touch up. Plus they are tiny for how much you're paying. Our room was great for two people but if it's design for four people then it would have been a tight squeeze. I know you're paying for the location but I wish the size of the rooms reflected that price (which was $400). 2. You must use their valet parking and they don't allow self park. It is $29/day for parking your car there. 3. They charge you $38 a day to use for their bar or two restaurants on site and I wish this wasn't necessary as we would have love to check out other places without worrying if we used our credit. 4. You are included free use of their paddle board or kayaks but we didn't get to use it due to the waves. Otherwise jet skis, banana boat ride, or the parasail is not included in this hotel "credit". 5. Tommy's Tiki was great location for a bar by the beach but their price was not worth it as it was $15 for the drink. Overall we enjoyed our stay and was impressed despite the little charges they get you on.

Adam G.

Yelp
The staff and most facilities were great Only complaint is hot water in sink spirit Please check the One mayparticular exceptional employee was Pratik A server in the beach pool area. He was superb and getting my order right and gave exceptional service

Jim R.

Yelp
An older Hilton that's like so many others is situated on a primo spot on the beach. Despite some nice upgrades and bathroom remodels, it's still a property with low-ceilings and small rooms. On the plus side, the majority of the 1000 rooms have an ocean view and everyone has a small, semi-circular balcony as was the standard when these properties were built in the 60's and 70's. The updated furnishings did have bedside USB ports and while very small, the updated bathroom had a glass door slower to make it look and feel bigger but overall was tiny. During our mid February visit the place was hopping and the small pool area was overrun with young families. While there is a nice kiddie wading pool, families are free to use the other small pool as well. As a Hilton "resort" it also features a spa, a couple of restaurants, hair salon and the opportunity to rent chairs on the beach for a tidy sum. Speaking of the beach, for a walker like me, the huge beach here is hard to beat. We walked an hour north before turning back and never ran out of soft sand and a 100-yard deep (at least) beach-5 stars. For a two-night stay it was perfectly fine and it's hard to beat the location as you have massive beach to the west and shops and restaurants right across the street. The price was steep owing to the location and Presidents' Day weekday pricing. Well over $600/nt.

Bonita B.

Yelp
Sorry but not a great look for the Hilton brand. Yes it's on the beach but in a very congested and dirty area. It is very old with strong smells of cleaning chemicals on every floor. We were on floor 8 and still had a live lizard crawling around in our room. Went looking for a snack about 10:30 pm and there is no vending or market anywhere in the hotel, was offered a bottle of water. No bath to soak in, just a small shower, bed is low-grade and linens are bare bones. Parking and resort fee will add almost $100 per night, (our rate was already $325 per night before these fees) You can do much better just going a block or two away.

Yelp
My experience with the Hilton recently was okay. Some issues with the rooms (we signed up for "gulf view" and got a view of a roof fan but they switched us easily), some wins. The biggest win was my ladies group interaction with an employee named Phillip! He is one of the recreation assistants and was the photographer for our FREE photo shoot! This young man went above and beyond to make us feel special! He gave us leis the first night and even color-coded them to match our personality! During the photoshoot, he got all the best spots and angles. Believe it or not, we had several great shots! Anyway, despite some kinks at The Hilton, I would go back to see Phillip again!!

Yelp
Unclean and dirty/moldy AC in all of the rooms. We booked 6 rooms and all of us wound up sick with a fever etc.

Yelp
Horrid customer service. Twice I was reassured about parking validation. Somehow scammed me $75+ in parking fees and refused to validate because I didn't park in one space long enough. Horrible service horrible customer service. Never coming here again. No one should pay that much for parking for 1 day.

Yelp
I don't recommend staying here by any means. I usually don't write reviews like this, but if I can save someone the trouble and money this place gave us, I want to do that! When we arrived, they informed us we would have to pay $60 a day for incidentals (this is the highest rate I have EVER been asked to pay for incidentals, lol), a $35 a day resort fee, AND $29 a day parking fee (one again--lol). That is $868 MORE than our original booking price, which was also steep. Considering none of this was disclosed when we booked, I wasn't the most thrilled about all the extra charges. Another big red flag is that we paid for a gulf view room, thinking it was gulf front, and they originally put us in a room over the parking lot. They told us it was gulf view because we could see the tiniest bit of the ocean way over to our left. Extremely misleading. After going back to the counter, they put us in a room that was gulf view, but was over the roof which was extremely loud and not at all what I had booked from my understanding + their pictures on the booking site. There were multiple times that we walked through the front desk area and people were upset about added charges that should never have been there. It is evident that they are there for the money--not giving you the best service. The most unfortunate thing about it all is that our room was equally as nice as the Super8 Hotel we stayed at during our travel to Clearwater (once again--lol). There were many things that were not up-kept at this hotel considering the amount of money that was spent (like the one rinse station that half the nozzles didn't work on, the beach chairs (that cost $90 a day to rent haha) flying across the beach, etc. We also didn't have a microwave in our hotel, which denied us being able to eat in our room at all. All I'm saying is I would not book here ever again. There were so many surrounding places that looked far nicer that were at the same price point or cheaper!!! So save yourself and do your research!!!!

Yelp
Pros: right on the beach, restaurant was very good(Mexican to the right of Starbucks), does have a pool, location is great. Cons: they charge a resort fee, they also charge $29 a night for valet parking (no choice). They charge for any chair umbrella on the beach up to $250 daily LOL. No Jacuzzi. Would I stay at this location again...No. the rooms need to be renovated for the price point and lounge chairs on the beach should be included for guests as they already pay a resort fee, this would bring your guest reviews up.

Yelp
Overall great location. Great sand and great drinks. Try the Pina Colada the beach lady makes the best!!

Yelp
The hotel was extremely nice and perfectly as reviewed. However the worker outside yelled at me for climbing what looked to me like a climbing wall? He looked like a cool surfer dude but told me I wasnt cool? And I'm very cool so I'm feeling lost and confused? I talked to him and he continued to be confrontational really harshed my vibe Hotel lobby smells delicious

Yelp
It's been a while since hotels have been open and Hilton Clearwater is calling us to come back. The lobby is clean all of the amenities are constantly wiped down. I went on a Tuesday and there was a sizable amount of people staying. Even though our northern friends are everywhere we are fortunate that we only have to drive a few miles to enjoy.

Yelp
For the price, I expected better. We stayed two nights, and the price, including resort fees and valet parking, was expensive. All for a partial view of the beach and a small king-size room with a very small bathroom. I was not impressed. The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. The location is great, restaurants and shops right outside the door. Pier nextdoor as well. I think we were both just disappointed in the size of the room, the partial view, and the price. The hotel is clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. If money is no problem, book here.

Yelp
The worst hotel ever . Not an hotel but a crappy MOTEL . Everything is so old and nothing works. Starting with the key card . We had to spend 5 minutes each time to open the damn door . Same for the balcony door. The furnitures are So outdated everything feels dirty and crappy ... Hilton is just the name. But the worst for us is how poorly isolated the rooms are . We could hear everything from the other rooms . And when I say everything I mean EVERYTHING. This made us feel so uncomfortable , basically had to whisper in our rooms . The beach is the only nice thing this hotel has. It's not worth the money .

Yelp
The hotel is on the beach, and the photos look refreshing, but let me warn you- it's all camera tricks. The hotel is extremely overpriced and if you like clean/ new hotels this is not the place for you. The cabanas on the beach are NOT even included either. We arrived, and the hotel waiting area and lobby was gorgeous! I was like YASSS THEY ALSO HAVE A SPAAA! We got our keys and headed upstairs to find that even the hallways needed work. The ceilings were super low, dirty and even missing chunks... but okay maybe the rooms would be better? WRONG! We get into the hotel room to see damaged furniture, walls that were so thick with paint it made me question what grime was lurking under it, old carpet, rusty mirror, yellowing/warped plug covers and dirty grout! I even noticed that they built an extension cord into the wall to go under it and behind the bed as the arrangement for the room had no place for the lamp to plug in! I was pretty grossed out... But I headed into the bathroom somehow hoping for more. SADFACE. The quartz countertop in our room was cracked and broken in 5 places, where they just glued or calked it back together, the toilet was soooo low to the ground it was arguably for kids, more dirty grout & since it was just so halfway cared for I felt grossed out by the tiny little bathroom. We immediately started looking for another hotel to spend our next 4 nights in even though we already prepaid this one and wouldn't be refunded. The two pleasant experiences we had were with the breakfast bar... the food was decent and the staff super friendly. We also had a great experience in the spa. Over $1000 wasted as we ended up staying in a much nicer hotel up the street.

Yelp
Worst place ever. I've been to bad hotels and this is by far the worst. First it was my first day on vacation and I was enjoying my time at the pool when I realized a man was recording me and my sister. I was very creeped out by it and when we told security they took their time and by then the guy had deleted the photos. Just horrible. When I woke up the next day there was a smell of urine and my nose was runny. While packing to leave the hotel early I turned to the side and saw the air vents. They were covered in dust. Horrible they should be cleaning these at least 3 times a week. It just shows how lazy they are here. If you are doing a job do it right please. Horrible security and horriable management never coming back.

Yelp
This hotel is barely 3 stars. The room was basic and not worth the $800 dollars I paid for two nights. I also booked the Gulf View room and was given a room facing their parking lot. I sent them a message via their "Hilton Honors" app, they explained that the Gulf View didn't face "the beach" (the Gulf of Mexico) but there is a partial view. To do this I would have to stand at my balcony, dismiss the parking lot and look toward the right to see a small fraction of the beach, THE GULF. Anyway, all this to say, naming those rooms Gulf View rooms is false advertising and with that a 3 star becomes a 2 star. *Screenshots of chat attached

Yelp
Stayed here for one night. Room has an updated bathroom, the room was a bit dated but reasonable given the price point compared to other luxury hotels on Clearwater Beach. Our room overlooked the street, so enjoyed sitting on the balcony and taking in the atmosphere. Thanks so much to the staff for a great experience.

Yelp
This hotel is in need of drastic need of serious renovations. About the only aspect of the hotel that is worthy of the "Hilton" brand is probably the lobby and pool bar. Our room was sold to us as an ocean view, yet we had great view of the parking lot. We called and inquired and the response we got from the front dest is "all our rooms are ocean view". I guess this is true if you lean over the balcony ledge, turn your head 90 degrees......then get on your tiptoes to see over some palm trees......haha. The room itself was comparable to a motel 8. Dripping shower head all night, mismatched towels, no lock on the balcony door, a entry door that had to be "shouldered" to open, rusty shower rods, and missing ceiling tiles in most public areas. I talked with management at checkout, after nearly a $900 bill for (2) nights, the graciously too $100 off the final bill. (This is my sarcastic face- mostly due to the 25/pay parking fee and the 25/day "resort fee" that I must have breezed through when I booked directly through Hilton online. I figured I would let the brand know about this properties condition and the amount of disappointment I have in the brand (we have stayed at the property before and had nothing but a great time.....but this has gone down hill to the point it nearly ruined the trip)

Yelp
Spent 5 days and staff did not make up the room at all! Had to request clean towels. Reported daily to the front desk and they asked if they could provide bottled water. Heck no, I just wanted clean sheets!

Yelp
Absolutely terrible service from almost everyone we encountered at this Hilton!!! The employees here are very snobby and they don't care about customer satisfaction. I would not recommend or return to any Hilton!

Yelp
Checked in today want to go back home‍haven't unpacked yet. Florida will be on my never to return list. First we ordered one type of car & and received a totally different vehicle. Do not like. Hotel that's another story.

Yelp
WHERE DO I BEGIN. This place was incredible. Loved every minute. They made our stay so special. From the complimentary pool day to the wonderful staff across the board. Angie made our trip though. She was so kind and warm. She made us a sign to remember our time together with our friends. I loved this place!!! Alyssa was our bartender one night as well and she recommended us to go to Ryan's Island Cafe and it was FIRE. So great!! Wonderful staff. Thank you everyone!!!!!!!! Can't wait to come back!!!!!!!

Yelp
I was fairly disappointed with this Hilton Property. I understand that this is an older building but that doesn't seem to be the main issue. There seems to be a problem with management and upkeep of the property. I get that this is a busy, high volume property but that doesn't excuse the lack of work being done around the building to maintain it. The elevators never worked probably and there was always a long line waiting to get in. This resulted in people cramming into the elevator, which is not ideal during COVID. We needed up taking the stairs every time. The main areas are also not well maintained. They are often dirty and overall just don't look that nice. Everything just looked over used. It was the same situation in the rooms. There was minor damage throughout the room. It also wasn't the cleanest room I've ever stayed in. There was several stains on the sheets as well. With all of that said the staff was really friendly and helpful and the location can be beat. But that's about the only good things this hotel has to offer. All in all it's not the worst hotel I've ever stayed in but certainly no where near the best. Luckily I was only here for just one night so the quality and cleanliness wasn't to much of an issue.

Yelp
My husband and I had the pleasure of attending a wedding in Clearwater Beach Florida. This hotel had an amazing website everything look like a dream. We were so excited to get a vacation, it had been over 2 years! There were a couple of issues, sadly. The first room that we were in we had toilet issues so we changed rooms, in that room it had a leaking sink, very disappointing for the price that you pay for a room. The breakfast buffet was amazing. That afternoon we decided to have lunch at the indoor bar and the bartender was absolutely horrible! We weren't greeted, it took forever to get drinks, the rest of our party showed up and they sat there looking at her, it was like this was her first day in the hospitality business. She had hurt herself lifting a keg of beer and could barely move, very sad, for the price that you pay at a Hilton resort. Continuing on, the service we received at the outdoor tiki bar was spot on and the hotel did a great job on the wedding we attended but there were issues that you don't expect a Hilton.

Yelp
We stayed here in April 2021 and I can confirm that the free continental breakfast benefit for elites is now back (NOT buffet style, only allowed 1 bread item, 1 fruit, and 1 drink item which is kind of stingy see attached photo below). TripAdvisor and Yelp have tons of review which are all accurate- rooms are tiny, dated (and to be honest a little dingy) despite 2018 "multi-million dollar" renovation, pool is overfilled 150% capacity with people during the morning and afternoon, high cabanas and parking cost, $25 daily resort fee and COVID never really happened judging by the lack of mask usage & enforcement. On the upside- fabulous employees and you really can't beat the location. I believe there's only 10 suites in the entire 5 floors that have guest rooms (floors 3 to 7; floors 1 & 2 do not have rooms). I would give it a 2 star based on my stay using points (no resort fees on reward stays) but if I were asked to shell out $300 - $400 per night in addition to the exorbitant $25 per day resort fees for such a old hotel room I would rate this a 1 star (hence my 1 star). And if you were wondering- yes we also did smell pot/ weed several times not only in the balcony of the highest level room floors but also when sitting on the beach portion close to the hotel.

Yelp
THE WORST HOTEL I HAVE EVER STAYED AT I don't know how it just kept getting worse make an appointment at the spa to surprise my boyfriend they didn't have the appointment because they were "training" Then walk into maids stealing out of my sisters wedding cards SAW THEM WITH MY OWN EYES and staff members tried to tell me i am lying. DO NOT LET MAIDS IN YOUR ROOM IF YOU MAKE THE MISTAKE OF STAYING HERE. Oh and even better i have bed bug bites all over my legs. This place is a joke for 475 dollars a night...

Tara L.

Yelp
The hotel as a whole was nice enough. Rooms were good, but bathrooms were tiny. Staff was friendly and readily available. Spa was above average. The ice machines on every floor were not working, and had to go to bar to get ice. One thing that was SO aggravating was the temperature in all the public spaces. It was so cold! When I say cold, I mean 40° cold. So waiting for the elevators (only 2 of the 3 in service) you literally froze. Bar area so cold. Lobby and restaurant so cold. It was really cold outside and coming into a freezing cold lobby and hallways was irritating. Turn the heat on!!

Danny P.

Yelp
This is another prime example of Hilton having a premium location! Location, location, location! The only bad thing is the hotel has a ton of deferred maintenance the rooms are outdated and around the elevator it smelled a bit. The balcony views are breath taking of the pier and ocean and the bar on the sand rocks. I enjoyed everything about the hotel except the outdated rooms for the steep price!

Yelp
I trusted this would be a good stay because I have known the Hilton name for over 50 years. There is no room service. The staff was not trained in the correct room service number or procedure. I had to call in to the front desk and after several tries, had to go downstairs to try to find out about room serv. The front desk staff took me to one of the restaurants. Waiter said, "that I could take the menu to my room and order because they don't take room service orders in person, but that I had to bring it back down later." I took the menu with me, tried reaching room service again, but after 20 minutes of trying to get the right number, I finally had to take my 89 year old mom downstairs so we could at least get something to eat. The pillows were actual cotton balls. And I would not walk barefoot on those carpets. Oh! And as I am checking out, I had additional charges to the spa and parking. Front desk staff said, 'there is a mandatory spa charge;. No one mentioned this during the booking. And that front desk manager Dylan was horrible. --- I thought the stay might be a good one since "Hilton" is a familiar name. If they are decent, they will refund these "spa charges" that we never used. NEVER AGAIN. I hope this doesn't happen to you. --- I truly hope you reading this, that this does not happen to you. But if you do book this hotel after reading this, then this is on you. I took a video. I will be adding the link later so you can see for yourself.
