The holiday at Hilton hotel was a great experience. They had amazing breakfast and a decent à la cart dinner. The Rooms were always serviced, they always had the room cleaned and carpets looked freshly vacuumed and we were always provided fresh towels. There was no outside noise seeping into the room. Very peaceful. The hotel was a short drive away from the beach. Highly recommend the hotel.

Business traveler-friendly The property has a well-maintained, elegant, corporate atmosphere that works brilliantly for business travelers but feels equally welcoming for leisure stays. Nonetheless, the hotel felt abnormally empty during our stay, making it a bit more an odd choice for a vacation. But the warm and welcoming staff made the stay very pleasant. LOCATION: The location is genuinely one of the hotel's strongest assets. I could walk to the Durban ICC in literally two minutes, and the famous Golden Mile beachfront is just a five-minute drive or a pleasant 15-minute walk away. North Beach is about a kilometer away, perfect for morning runs or evening strolls. The hotel sits in Durban's CBD, which means you're surrounded by restaurants, shops, and cultural attractions like the Kwa Muhle Museum and the City Hall. Kingsmead Cricket Ground and Moses Mabhida Stadium are both within easy reach – the stadium is about 2.7 kilometers away. DINE + DRINK: The hotel offers three dining outlets, which provide a decent variety. The breakfast was an elaborate affair worth waking up for ROOM: We stayed in Room 1502, which was a EXECUTIVE SUITE, so this review is based on that; SIZE: Spacious enough with a nice Living Room area with dining section and a huge bedroom section; VIEW: Lovely view of the KINGSMEAD cricket stadium, the football standium and the entire sprawling city (and even the ocean front) from the room!; AIR-CON: Perfectly functioning cooler that helped in setting the perfect room temperature; BED: Comfortable bed that played the expected part of putting us to sleep; BATHROOM: Good-sized bathroom with a Stand-in shower; TOILETRIES: Wonderful spa-quality toiletries by CRABTREE and EVELYN brand FACILITIES: Very good Gym with a full range of weights, workout stations, and Cardio machines perfect for a full-on workout. They also have a swimming pool on site. SERVICE: Friendly staff that cared for all our needs with a smile and made us feel at home and well taken care of. Special Shout-out to THANDEKA for enhancing our stay! HOW WIRED YOU WILL BE: Free Wi-Fi that works well all over the property, and the speed is good! Big Smart TV dishing out a wide variety of channels spanning sports, news, music, movies, and entertainment in multiple languages

Wouldn't stay here again to be honest. Booked it initially because of location, brand reputation and that that it's classed as 5-star but the hotel itself is ageing and the amenities provided weren't up to a 5-star level. ||Pros:|- The fitness centre is well-equipped and clean. Water and towels are replenished regularly.|- The lobby is grand and staff were friendly during check-in and check-out. They helped us with our luggage each time. |- There is a spa onsite which is great. |- Rooms have both a shower and a bath tub which offers guests flexibility.|- Room service was very quick for what we ordered (pizza) and it was tasty.|- Black out curtains were great and blocked out the early morning sun.||Cons:|- Amenities that you would expect at a 5-star hotel were not provided. i.e. no slippers, bathrobes or hand towels. This was disappointing since I've been in 3-star hotels that provide all of these items, as well as a dental kit. It felt like here they were only giving the bare minimum.|- Shower gel, shampoo and conditioner are attached to the wall of the shower, meaning that its not very easy to use them if you're in the bath tub, unless you unclip each bottle from the shower wall. |- The carpet was really aged, and needs to be replaced.|- The pool area wasn't really attended too. Only one of the loungers had a cushion on it, the rest were just bare metal. |- The window latch was also quite aged. Even though we were on the 10th floor, we could still hear noise from the traffic below. This may have been due to the window not closing properly due to the latch, or lack of soundproofing around the windows.|- Dirty windows|- We had brough some of our own glasses to use, which were distinct from the glasses provided by the hotel. These were taken from the room even though they shouldn't have been. We had to ask for them to be returned over multiple days, and only on third day of asking, were we told that one of the glasses had been broken and we would only get 1 back. ||Overall, it feels like the hotel has been a bit neglected.

I would not recommend booking at the Hilton Hotel Durban because they can cancel your booking at any time with no proper explanation, even if you have paid and received a booking confirmation months in advance. You could be left stranded without accommodation if you are travelling from far. Totally unreliable. It feels like they are discriminating against guests. It may be safer to book at Suncoast Towers - always a pleasant experience staying at Suncoast and the views are better too.

The quality of the carpet 😭❤️🔥👑 The cleaners won't touch to take your things. But to organize them. Had bottles of liq, some open and non was tasted i can assure that. Had coins and notes, counted them and left them as if not counted, 7 days days of peace and a beautiful view. Best breakfast🔥🔥🔥🔥 Hilton is a total 5 star.

Excellent service - Jabulani is an excellent waitron, very charismatic personlity traits who knows now host a family with excellent class. He is excellent at his job and holds the Hilton name at a high level.
