Stayed one night, check in/out was smooth. Parking convenient but a bit confusing and we were followed in the parking deck upon exiting the vehicle. Upon entering the room it was 95 degrees. Not very pleasant after getting off the road. But it didn’t end there. The thermostat was faulty and we called front desk twice and no one responded to our room. Hours later we figured it out. It was either really cold or really hot in different areas of the hotel. HVAC system wonky. Shower pressure was amazing and TV was good. Pool was small and the room itself was freezing. Gym was nice.

When I arrived at the hotel, I noticed that the outside was dirty. The parking area had dark stains, apparently from oil or gasoline, which gave a feeling of neglect. When trying to enter, I noticed that the main doors were not working properly. When entering the lobby, I had the impression of being in a hotel from the sixties due to its outdated appearance. The check-in process was somewhat positive, as I was given room 1404 at 10:30 in the morning without any additional charges, although they blocked 100 dollars on my card as a security deposit. However, during my stay, I noticed that of the four elevators in the hotel, initially only two were working, then three stopped working and only one was active at night. Later, they enabled a second elevator. This made me feel that the elevators were not safe and needed urgent maintenance. When entering my room, I found several deficiencies. The room was visibly deteriorated and outdated. The bathroom was not properly cleaned, and there were nail clippings on the floor next to the bed, which I found unacceptable. I also noticed an electrical problem, as metal lamps and switches generated static electricity when touched. Also, the TV remote control did not work properly. The noise level was another major problem. During the night, the noise from ambulances, police and traffic was so loud that I thought the window was open, but it was closed. This made the quality of sleep extremely low. The mattress was very hard, possibly outdated, and I found it extremely uncomfortable. The sheets were of low quality, and the pillows were so bad that I had to use three of them together to be able to sleep. The hotel has some redeeming points: its price is relatively low compared to other hotels in the area, it is in an excellent location, and it offers breakfast included. However, I did not use the breakfast service, as, considering the general state of the hotel, I doubted the hygiene conditions in the kitchens. Another drawback was that they do not allow delivery people from platforms such as Uber Eats to deliver orders directly to the rooms. Guests must go down to reception to pick them up, which often leads to confusion when trying to identify the orders. In conclusion, I think this hotel needs urgent attention in terms of cleanliness, maintenance and general management. Although its location is excellent, the current conditions make it not a recommendable option.

We were in room 1402. Very clean room and good view. We had more than enough amenities for the four of us. You can hook up to Netflix if you wish. My only complaint about the room would be the bed was extremely hard and not comfortable. I’m all about safety and I like that you cannot go up and down on the elevator without your key. I felt this hotel was safe and I didn’t see any loitering outside. The lobby was clean and all the workers were nice. There is no free breakfast, but there is free coffee in the lobby. They do offer breakfast you just have to pay for it. The public parking garage is one step away from the hotel. We found this to be extremely convenient. It cost us about $64 for 24 hours. Overall, we would stay here again

Overall it was an okay experience. |Good stuff first:|- Location, location, location. You are a few blocks from the Magnificent Mile, surrounded by all sorts of food and shopping options. |- Red Line is at your feet. We took Subway to go to Chinatown one night and took it to see the Blue Man show the other night. It was fast and convenient.|- The staff was friendly and accommodating. We were greeted with smiles. Check in was fast. They warned us that room cleaning was every other day (which didn’t bother us). The next day though we needed refill of in room coffee, creamer and cups. Housekeeping was quick to bring it up upon request. |- The hotel was clean. There were minor cosmetic things but overall pretty modern and tidy.|Now why I give it an average review:|- You get what you pay for. It is an affordable hotel, so expect average minimalistic decor, no bells and whistles, etc.|- Our mattresses were kind of hard and uncomfortable and our bedding had a bit of a smell to it.|- Room AC unit was very loud. |- If you are the person that needs quiet to sleep, be prepared for the big city noise all night … beeping, sirens, etc.

I recently visited Chicago for a quick business trip and stayed at this wonderful hotel! I was really impressed with how clean it was and the fantastic location—it felt very safe. Just a little tip: make sure to budget for parking, as it can be quite pricey. Also, the parking lot is a bit tight, so be mindful of your car (and body size ) when coming in and out of your vehicle. Other than that, I had a great experience overall, and I’ll definitely be booking here again (with a little extra set aside for parking next time)!

Didn't see or experience all the negativity mentioned in several reviews. I booked a three night stay in early January for a cheap, impromptu trip. I paid roughly $210 and received a very clean, basic room on the 20th floor with a nice view. Rooms are definitely on the older side but the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom very clean. Nice, spacious closet, microwave and fridge in the room. Heat was very toasty. Only negatives were USB ports on the table lamps were broken which was a bummer given I forgot my phone charger. Another lamp was promised but not delivered. Wasn't really upset about it though. The shower could also use a new shower head too. Other than that, for the price and location, I was pretty pleased and would stay here again if the price is right like this time. Please note though, this is one of the few hotels that charge for early check in. $75 in fact. I managed to get it lowered due to the low number of bookings but be aware of this, especially if have an early flight.

My daughter, who is a Hilton Honors member, booked a room for two nights so that she could partake in an event at the Joffrey Ballet. The room was booked through Hilton directly. Upon arriving around midnight in February, Hilton refused to allow her to access to a room. Despite booking with accurate credentials, she was denied a room because she was three months short of 21. Again, her Hilton Honors points makes it rather apparent she has stayed at Hilton multiple times. Further yet, Hilton would not refund. Whether it be business or leisure, I will do my best to avoid the Hilton family of hotels going forward. UPDATE 1: Upon Hilton response to the above review, I called the provided number (hotel front desk) and was informed the individual had no ability to refund the cost of the reservation that was not honored. I was directed to another phone number and department. The second Hilton employee also indicated they had no ability to refund and directed me back to the hotel location. To be very clear, Hilton refused to honor the reservation and is also steadfast in refusing to refund the cost of the reservation. UPDATE 2: Contacted Hilton at the phone number provided and completed the web form via the address provided in Hilton's response to my initial review. All Hilton staff directs to other Hilton departments, indicating they have no ability to address the issue. No response was given to the web form by Hilton. Hilton kept the money after refusing to provide the room. Over $200 taken by Hilton upon leaving my daughter out in the cold at midnight.

I WILL NEVER BE STAYING AT ANOTHER HILTON PROPERTY AGAIN!!!!! We paid for our trip in full before we arrived. Upon arrival, we were told that we had to pay a $500 DEPOSIT in order to stay. I was so incredibly upset by this, but we flew across the country to get here & we would have had nowhere to stay. The "Hilton Promise" is posted in the building, so we paid the deposit because I trusted that this could be remedied or at least a portion of that could be returned to us. Unfortunately, that is not the case. I contacted Hilton & was told that there had to be a "valid complaint" in order for Hilton to take action & that having $500 taken upon check in (which is more than we paid to stay here) was not a valid reason. I had 3 different Hilton Supervisors hang up on me & was talked to awfully. Last night we were woken up by the fire alarm battery beeping & it WOULD NOT STOP. We attempted to contact the front desk. I called for 3 HOURS & still no answer. My wife finally just went down to the front desk to have them come to the room. They barely even apologized. Hilton has made our trip MISERABLE. Before we arrived, we were told by a rep over the phone that this property had a hot tub~it does not. The beds are VERY uncomfortable. The air conditioning unit in the room does whatever it feels like regardless of how you set it. The TV only has like 10 channels. These may seem like small things & normally I may be able to look past some of them, but after Hilton treated us the way that they have I genuinely am so upset. Hilton has offered NO RESOLUTION & won't help us at all. Again, I will NEVER be staying at another Hilton Property ever again.

Yelp
Pretty Cool Hotel is located in the heart of Downtown Chicago, Near the Grand - Red Line subway line (CTA) and Michigan Avenue & Nordstrom Department store right down the block there is a Starbucks reserve a Potbelly sandwich restaurant and the Jean Baptiste Dusable statue is not too far. I wouldn't know about staying at this hotel again, there are too many hidden charges, They charge me for early check-in $71.49, and they charge me for a pet stay (my cat stayed there with me in my hotel room, and they charged me $75.00 ( I usually stay at the Quality inn -Choice hotels & La Quinta inn Suites Wyndham hotels ( And there never charged me for pet stay or an early check-in fee and there have continental breakfast for free). This hotel doesn't have Contentinal breakfast ( All dough the hotel lobby is connected to Webster Grill Restaurant which serves Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner ) There is a Walgreens pharmacy around the corner from this hotel so if you looking for some snacks to put in your Fridge in your hotel room which can be affordable, when I booked this hotel at the third party site, it didn't say anything about these hidden charges fees, The only reason I stayed here because I ran into Paris Hilton near the Skims store in New York City on Fifth avenue store re-grand opening. She was so kind to wave to us. so I wanted to support the Hilton Franchise hotels her mother Kathy Hilton and her Aunt Kyle Richards are some of my favorites on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Show. anyhow back to this hotel review, the Amenities do have a pool and gym, I did enjoy myself in the swimming pool and the Gym was currently down so I had to go nearby Hilton Embassy Suites to use their gym instead ( I believe Michael who checked me in said the Gym is getting a re-lift, but when I did enjoy myself at the pool area I did see a young Asian girl inside the gym using the Treadmill thru the pool glass windows, so I don't know what to say, I did see stains on the bed sheets I don't know if from my cats who got from the sticky-dirty floor/carpet, Any how thanks for stay Hilton garden inn Hotel this was a Birthday Trip I did enjoy!!!! P.S.: Michael was very Freindily dough he was the one who checked me -in at the hotel front lobby desk, and Kara was pretty cool she was at the Embassy Suites Hilton Hotel around the corner when I wanted to check in the gym at the front desk, since the hilton garden inn where I was staying down the block. I had free access to the embassy Hilton Hotel gym because I was staying here in the gym was down, There was an African-American lady with glasses she was a sweetheart, I wish I got her name I asked her if this hotel had continental breakfast and she told me no, I wonder if this Hilton hotels is moving towards top-notch hotel's five-star hotels like: Sofitel ( Accor hotels ), Four Seasons hotel, Virgin hotels, Ritz Carlton hotels, Sandals Resorts, Karibe Hotel, Kaliko Beach Club, Fort Young Hotel, Atlantais Resort, Intercontinental hotel (Dominica Cabrits Resort spa), Marriott Hotel, Hyatt hotels, Choice Hotels (Quality Inn), Loews Hotels, Melia' Hotels, Louis Vuitton hotel, Fendi hotel, Club Med Resort/Hotel, etc High-End hotels have early check-in fees or pet fees !!!!! i know Choice Hotel & Wyndham doesn't for sure !!!!

Yelp
This place was decent and fair for the price! it was close to the areas we wanted to visit. You can even walk to Starbucks Reserve! ain't that a amazing? During our stay here, the workers have been nice and respectful. Location was perfect because everything was walking distance and it was easy to get around. Would stay here again!

Yelp
Great place in a perfect location. The only issue was the oversized bed frame with pointed corners that we kept hitting are knees with. That's a hazard.

Yelp
I booked a room for my son to stay after a cubs game. When booking through my Hilton Honors app, the only place age requirement under the restrictions tab was 18 years old. The manager Ava refused two 18 year kids at 10pm traveling from Indiana. The rules were more important than the safety of two kids. Hilton Garden Inn Chicago Downtown/Magnificent Mile 10 E. Grand Avenue, Chicago, Illinois, 60611, USA, Opens new tab.

Yelp
The staff except one person(Michael) was inattentive and almost mean. You couldn't call the front desk and get an answer if your life depended on it. The hotel itself was clean and comfortable, Customer service is part of the experience Michael could easily teach his co-workers what that is.

Kaylee B.

Yelp
I was honestly surprised how nice this hotel was. Only stayed a couple of nights but they even came and did house keeping for one nice. I was impressed. Very clean. And even had an unexpected view

Chun P.

Yelp
Stayed 3 nights from the busiest and most popular Thursday-Sunday weekend, which costs $675 total, or $225/night. A bit pricy, but still cheaper than Seattle, NYC, or San Francisco. Any Hilton is pretty darn reliable and consistent with service, cleanliness, comfort, and conveniences. Would likely stay here again on my next visit to Chicago. PROs: -Friendly Service all around -Clean, large room and bathroom -Coffee Maker / Fridge -Big LCD TV -Central location, right on Grand Metro station Redline, and walking distance to lots of bars and eateries. CONs: -Could've been a bit cheaper, which it is Sunday-Thursday.

Yelp
The room key was malfunctioning from the very beginning. It was resolved, thanks. but when my husband and I came back from dinner the room key malfunctioned again at the lobby door which was locked (it was after 9pm) I tried the door 3 times and when we walked in the front desk lady (blonde buzzcut african American lady) said "can you not bang on the door like that" ???? ummmm maybe next time ask why the door handle was jiggled?! not banged at all. I never once touched the door itself. I TRIED the door. and instead of asking I was accused and embarrassed in front of other guest. Unprofessional and ew, so disgusting. We are diamond members and are considering withdrawing from the program due to her nasty nasty attitude!

Yelp
I love to location of this hotel it's conveniently located near the Michigan ave , about an 8 minute walk to Starbucks reserve(try the martini) . I only have a few gripes, the parking I didn't have a problem with at all , it's just be more mindful that you don't park in an official Hilton parking garage. The walk way smelled Like hot urine . The hotel is kinda outdated but extremely clean. If you choose to come here, the location is honestly everything for the price.

Yvonne B.

Yelp
I stayed at the hotel for a work event. This is the only hotel that doesn't have complementary toiletries such at lotions, toothpaste... in the rooms or at the front desk. Not helpful.

David W.

Yelp
Great service and a nice roomie room. They had the Weber Grill access off the lobby. The big down side was the platform bed and the shin/knee remover. It was specially bad at night when you only see the white corner. I had 3 grazed & 2 painful run ends with this corner. I did enjoy the Keurig, it made great coffee and they also had a Keurig set up in the lobby. The location was good.. lots of good restaurants within walking distance.

D B.

Yelp
Great location with easy access to many restaurants. Short walk to Michigan Ave/Magnificent Mile. Red line station super close by. Walkable distance to Millennium Park and Navy Pier. Trader Joe's, Circle K, and Target all located close by if you want to grab a snack or other items. Front desk personnel were okay. Not especially friendly. Three elevators. Water dispenser/fountain located on the first floor near the restrooms. Weber Grill restaurant is attached to the hotel. Room 1328 had a small fridge and microwave. Bathroom was spacious. Two queen size beds. Mattress was a tad too soft. Had an issue on the first night with the A/C unit suddenly smelling like something was burning and moments later the tv came on by itself. Only happened on the first night. The other nights were without incident.

Adriana E.

Yelp
Stayed for 3 nights. Very disappointed, not enough towels. Housekeeping never came. I did mention to front desk, but still no house keeping.

Candi L.

Yelp
Very nice hotel located within walking distance to many tourist spots. It was always clean and felt safe when walking around the area. The rooms were just as pictured and enjoyed the large size bathroom for getting ready. The beds were a little low but comfy enough to get a good nights sleep. Our last night was ruined by young teens pounding on our door multiple times. They were even racing up and down the hallways and were staying in the room right across from ours. When we called to complain to the front desk they said they would take care of it but it never was resolved and they continued pounding on doors and racing down the hall ways from midnight to 2am. Other than that, our would have been great.

Yelp
We had an amazing experience at Hilton Garden Inn Chicago South Loop. We were immediately greeted by one of the managers Lorena and she was absolutely fabulous! She takes customer satisfaction to the next level. I am a Hilton Honors Member and before she even know our names or anything about us she was looking to upgrade our room due to the length of time it took to get her system up and running as they were having technical issues. Lorena put us in a corner room on the 27th floor with an amazing view of the city. We stayed for 3 nights and upon check out Lorena was right there making sure our visit was excellent! She remembered our names and some of the places we planned on visiting during our trip. Again, taking customer satisfaction to the next level!! The hotel was clean and an easy walking distance to many restaurants, excellent coffee shop called Paris Baguette and convenient store even in the cold December timeframe we were visiting. It is also extremely easy to use Uber or Lyft throughout the city. We also enjoyed the restaurant attached to the Hilton Garden called Shang Noodle. Food and service were great! We will definitely return!

Travis T.

Yelp
Super nice staff, and the room was clean. I don't ask much of hotels since I'm the "it's just where I'm sleeping" type person, but it was a great location and a beautiful view from our room on the 22nd floor.

Yelp
Ok guys, settle in for a long one. Tldr; bed bugs & weird stains everywhere. So the original plan was to stay here for Labor Day weekend. Pre trip I was looking up reviews on the hotel so we knew what to expect and got worried after seeing some recent reviews mentioning bed bugs. So I called the hotel and asked if they had any recent issues and they emphatically said no. Even going so far as to blame guests. Saying whenever someone wants something or free somethimng the first thing they mention is bed bugs.... Ok, so we decided to still go and stay here. Friday night we get there for a late checkin, that goes smoothly we go up to our room and I thoroughly check the bed for bugs. Finding large blood stains and other unidentifiable stains and the condition of the mattress underneath is horrendous but no bed bugs found so we were going to settle in and shower. And that's when it happened. When we finally let our guard down. An undeniable bed bug. I scooped it into a cup as evidence bc I knew they wouldn't believe me unless I brought live evidence. So I show the front desk person and he was actually great the whole time. Very apologetic and great customer service. We knew it wasnt his fault so we were stressed but were still being really nice. It's not his fault, but the hotel's. So he moves us to a new room.. we throw our stuff in the tub for safety while we check this room out. The mattress was even worse. While we didnt find an actual bed bug in the second room. We found bed bug excrements and skin molts. There were also weird smudgy yellow stains in the bathroom doorframe. No idea what that was about. We immediately grabbed all our stuff. Shook it off as best we could hoping not to have any hitch hikers and went downstairs. The front desk worker set us up at a sister hilton hotel thankfully, bc I did not feel comfortable even standing in that hotel. There is definitely a huge bed bug problem on 2 different floors in at least 2 zones! The first room was 1938 and second room was 2030. Hopefully they did the right thing and quarantined the rooms and adjacent rooms until it could be inspected and treated. Customer service was great considering all things, but property owners need to take their bed bug problems seriously instead of calling guests liars and trying to shift the blame.

Yelp
This review is for ALMA, the lady working at the front desk. I stayed at this Hilton for a weekend. Upon arrival, Alma was chatting with another worker and seemed irritated that she had to help me check-in. I walked to her side of the counter, and she took her sweet time to sanitize the keyboard on her laptop, while still chatting away. My family and I were exhausted from the trip and just wanted to check-in asap. Her slow and "I don't care" attitude made our initial experience terrible. After a solid 10 seconds of her still not helping us check-in even though we were right in front of her, another young lady saw and came to assist us instead. Alma, if you are reading this, you may think helping customers is a waste of time but this will not get you far especially in the hospitality industry. I've stayed at Hilton hotels for years as a Gold Member and this lousy behavior was a first. Hilton, train your employees better.

Elianny S.

Yelp
We stayed here for 3 nights. There are 2 locations so make sure you check that you're in the correct one. This one is right outside of the Grand train station. There was a huge line to check in and there were only 2 people working at the front desk. When we finally checked in to the room, the room was spacious and had a mini fridge, microwave and safe. There was an issue with the toilet that took several hours and us calling several times and coming down to talk to the staff before they came to fix it. Other than the toilet issue, the room was very clean and everything was very comfortable. This location is perfect for walking around. There are many restaurants and shops in the area and the train is right downstairs. I would definitely recommend if you want to me centrally located.

Lynn T.

Yelp
Nice staff and easy to check in. In a good location - very easy to walk to downtown attractions and shops. Rooms were very narrow, and some of the towels had stains on it so they needed to be replaced. Don't know if I would stay again but for a quick weekend trip, it did the job!

Julia T.

Yelp
Absolutely horrible! Wouldn't recommend anyone staying here! Accused my friends and I of smoking in the hotel room when only one of us smokes and each time she went to the designated area. Says there "smoke detector" is 100% accurate but on the form they gave us we weren't even in the room at the time it says we were "smoking". The front desk workers were extremely rude and had no costumer service.

Joie M.

Yelp
First time staying at this hotel. The lobby is nice when you first walk in. It takes a minute to find the checkin desk because it's in the back corner of the lobby. The process to checkin was easy and the staff were friendly. Some key notes at this point. 1. I wasn't expecting an additional $151.00 dollars added to my reservation. When I asked what it was. They said it was incidentals. So when making a reservation add $150 bucks to the over all cost. Parking via valet was $70.00 dollars a night. To me it's so worth it to use valet. Parking availability is scarce in this area. We just used the a redline train to get to all of our locations instead of driving. Ok back to the hotel review- We got a room with a king bed. The room is small, but it works. It was clean for the most part and seemed fairly maintained. We had a big window with a nice view. But note - you will hear sirens all night because Fire Station around the corner and this is a city that never sleeps it appears. The restaurant prices and stores prices are very high in the hotel.. We paid $72.00 for 4 waters, a Pepsi, small bag of chips, a fruit cup and a cookie. Breakfast was $60.00 dollars for 2 people. Breakfast buffet is $34.00 per person. We will probably try the Hilton Garden Hotel on our next weekend getaway to the windy. The reason for the 3 stars is because after paying $600 bucks for a weekend stay at a hotel. I had much high expectations of what the hotel would offer. Especially since it is a Marriott.

Dennis C.

Yelp
The front desk is not attended with enough staff. Also there are a significant number of homeless at the entrance to the hotel and the Weber restaurant which makes leaving and returning difficult.

Rayna S.

Yelp
This a very basic hotel. It's not fancy nor a hole in the wall hotel. Its a good affordable hotel. Super close for shopping, music venues, and attractions. I looked for bed bugs and I did not see one. I took the sheets off and I looked. It was a clean room. They didn't have a parking garage, however there's a couple options for parking garages. The parking was 50 dollars for 24 hours. The employees where all very friendly and had great customer service. They where very accommodating. Keep up the amazing work !

P. G.

Yelp
I stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn for two nights in April 2022. The stay was average at best - unfortunately, lots of loud guests in the hotel and the walls are very thin. You can literally hear all the hallway noise (i.e., conversations, footsteps, elevators, etc.). What drives the 1-star review, though, is the over billing/overcharging that I experienced when I checked out of the hotel. After I got home, I noticed that I was charged about $10/night extra from the room rate I originally booked. I immediately called the hotel, and I was told the error would be fixed. The error was never fixed, which prompted me to reach out to Hilton customer service. At that point I was told that because I added a second person to the room, I was charged extra. I am a Hilton diamond member, and never have I been charged extra from changing the reservation from 1 to 2 people. And the fact that I was not made aware of (and therefore could not agree to) the additional charge is problematic and unethical. I do plan to address this at a much higher level, but if you're staying at this hotel, this is definitely something you should be aware of.

Diondre R.

Yelp
Two stars strictly for the location but other than that, I would look elsewhere. First off I called in advance to ask for parking information and the young lady told me that they have an attached garage that is included with the stay (This is incorrect). We arrived and pulled into the checkin area. I walked into the main area and stood in a line with 2 other people. The person at the front desk was obviously dealing with a major issue and she kept one of the desk clerks at bay. There was another female standing to her left talking to a male who stood outside of the desk. The female looked and the line and continued to talk. This went on for about 5 minutes. More patrons walked in and now the line had 5 people in it and no one could come in using the revolving door. After another few minutes the female said "next person in line". The lady in front of me told me to go and I approached the counter. Corena (the front desk supervisor) began my reservation. She checked us in and as she completed the process I asked about parking. She specifically stated there is a parking garage next door and the cost would be $62 per day which is cheaper than the regular cost. This was an untrue statement as the cost is $56 per day. Now depending on what you decide, you don't have in and out privileges with the $56 price I assume. She then handed me a white ticket with yellow on it and said "this is nonrefundable or non replaceable". We went to check in and the room was basic. Nothing spectacular, just a single room with two queen beds and a 32 inch tv. Now we knew we were downtown Chicago but this location must be close to a police ans fire Precinct as you could hear their sirens blaring all night long and we were on the 19th floor. I even heard someone playing Anita Baker clear as day!! This is no fault of the hotel, just a bad location. The next day we attempted to leave the garage using the ticket provided and could not get out. I pressed the button for assistance and the lady asked what color ticket I had. She them asked what the error message said. After providing her with the information, she stated they have this issue all the time with this hotel and she doesn't understand why they don't explain how to use the ticket. She then manually let us out. The ice machine did not work on our floor and we were given two large towels and three face towels.. There is a Weber Grill restaurant on site that seems to be pretty nice. The rest of our stay was decent besides the constant outside noise. If you are visiting Chicago, my suggestion is that you definitely find another hotel. There are multiple ones available.

Yelp
I just returned from a two night stay with Hilton Garden Inn. Location is great! Front desk staff was knowledgeable and accommodating. Room was clean and City view was nice! There was no room service unless we asked for it, but it wasn't a big deal since we were only staying two nights. I would definitely consider this hotel next time I'm in Chicago!

Yelp
We had a great stay. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast had so many choices and was fresh. Beds were very comfortable and price was reasonable for the area. We would stay again. Only downfall is the elevators are slow but I believe one was broke so may be the reason.

Yelp
This place was the worst Hilton I have ever stayed in. Staff was rude and extremely unfriendly. Beds were uncomfortable and dirty. Floors weren't the cleanest. Shower had a little hair in it. Bathroom door had piece taken out of it. Good thing: Webber Grill was downstairs, attached! See pictures for dirt a d door example.

Yelp
Beds are uncomfortable. Housekeeping never came. Room on 13th floor was infested with ants.

Yelp
Bar closes at 1030, room is at 76 degrees. Front desk said seasonal ac..too bad this nonsense isn't on their website....won't be back !

Yelp
Solid Hilton Garden Inn experience like I'm used to. I called ahead to see if they had a room open for early check-in since we were in the city. They informed me that they don't usually do that (I knew that since we were early and could kill time if needed), but they did have my room open so we were able to check in early. The garage parking for the hotel is behind the building so go to 10 E. Ohio to park in the Nordstrom shops garage. Parking for us for 2 days was as much as our one night hotel stay so kudos to you if you can find it cheaper! I just didn't have the inclination to. We got really fortunate with a city view room on the corner with 2 windows! It was a great quiet room with a view of the city. Not much street noise at the 16th floor except for sirens. I really liked the convenience of the Weber Grill in case you don't feel like venturing out during a typical Chicago winter. For a one night stay or even a weekend, this is a nice place to stay, and we didn't have any problems. (I'm not sure why all the negative reviews; I was cautious after reading them, and that was not my experience at all.) Nice to have a consistent experience with Hilton Garden Inns!

Yelp
I cannot give more than a 3 star review of the HGI Chicago. Pros: The Weber Grill has a breakfast - either buffet or made to order. This perk of Hilton Diamond Status was the best part of my visit to the Hilton Garden Inn. The other pro would be that this hotel is centrally located and within walking distance to shopping and restaurants nearby. Cons: The hotel was not as clean as I would expect and the guest rooms were outdated with very uncomfortable beds! Housecleaning was ok. They were much more pleasant than the front desk staff. Front Desk Staff were not upbeat and pleasant the way that I would expect at a Hilton. I would not go out of my way to spend another night there but I didn't get bedbugs and they provided breakfast everyday.

Yelp
The man at the front desk was incredibly rude to everyone he interacted with. The vending machine card reader was down, so we had no other option than to check out at the front desk. He asked the ladies in front of us if they were all on separate tickets, when they said that they weren't, he got really pissy and stated that punching in all the prices for the snacks would be "a lot of work" (I'm sorry that's your job). Then when my friends and I were ringing out our snacks (keep in mind we were nothing but kind), he was very quiet and mumbling under his breath. When he asked for one of us to sign on the pin pad, she couldn't make out what he was asking from her, so he immediately (and aggressively) flipped the pin pad over onto his side of the counter and signed for her with the most attitude. The worst customer service I've experienced in a while. I suggest he gets another job, and I hope he has a better day :)

Yelp
2 star for location 1 star for front desk, room and service. Ordered balloons, champagne, cheese platter, massage, strawberries and chocolate to my room. only the champagne was delivered. correction received white wine instead. ran out of champagne, was not notified. Called the front desk, Order was in my name and room number but was not fullfilled. A note was placed. Checked out, the front desk, front desk agent told me the manager was suppose to contact me, nothing, because someone tried to delete the note. I received an apology. Pool is only 3ft-4ft. Smallest pool ever. Jaccuzi is almost the same size. 1 Star hotel.

Yelp
I'm sorry to say that location is too good for the service they have this is the worst experience I've ever experienced in the hotel room and service was no coffee no no ice machine I have to go to the front desk to pick it up and no one can help me with luggage's electricity keeps going off and I promise you that you're not going to be happy It's a waste of money and time

Yelp
I just wanted to take a quick second to thank the staff at HGI for above-friendly and professional service. From Caroline and her timely email, to Juana and Reggie warmly greeting my early morning arrival, after dealing with a mixup from Booking.com, I must say, my first-ever stay at the Hilton in my second-only visit to Chicago will be fondly remembered. Thanks you guys. ~ Lawrence

Yelp
The hotel is well kept and is in a great location. We were able to check in right away and definitely used being a Hilton honor to an advantage with water Bottles and snacks in the room everyday. It is not noisy and housekeeping does a fantastic job.

Yelp
The hotel was clean and stylish. The rooms were cute. Room service never came to get our trash and they charged us for valet parking twice. Otherwise it was an ok place to stay. Definitely other places that are better

Yelp
Make sure you are booking the right place. This has the same name as a Hilton property up near Lakeshore. Management has to sign off on you transferring to another Hilton property, for some reason, which they won't do even though it's all Hilton. No explanation either. If they are this customer unfriendly on something this basic, I'd hate to need their help on a real problem.

Yelp
Overpriced for what it offers. Staff pleasant but too many maintenance issues for $250/night, i.e. no shower pressure for my 3 nights there. I ended up showering elsewhere. HVAC loud to the point of distraction. I will not return.

Yelp
Comfy, quiet, great location, reasonably priced and the bedding (especially the sheets) is incredible. You can always expect the Hilton to deliver. Nice and helpful staff. I'm a big fan. We often choose this place for a quick last minute option for a hotel in the city.

Yelp
Great staff and very friendly super clean rooms The location more than anything is the main point, being close to the best and most touristic places in Chicago Thank you very much, especially attention from Jose Valentin!

Yelp
We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights last week. Pros location is great with close proximity to downtown. Eataly is one block down which has great food options. cost per night about $160-180 a night Cons outdated rooms and amenities average customer service Overall the hotel is decent given the price per night. Nothing fancy/extra here.

Yelp
Easy to check into. Decent location. It's time the hotel has a renovation. Paint was peeling in our room. The ac was the original motor that went out during our stay. The staff was prompt about fixing it (thank you). Just had a dirty feel overall. Not to mention mass chaos for the complimentary breakfast. Worst than the free samples at Costco.

Yelp
Horrible customer service. I got scammed by a third party pretending to be Priceline when making a reservation here. My bank had to open up an investigation for fraudulent activity. Every time I called this hotel to explain that I needed to make new reservations because the original had been a scam, they just transferred me to the actual Priceline Customer Service number. Four times I called this hotel and begged them not to transfer me to Priceline (bc the reservation wasn't made through the actual Priceline... like how many times does a girl need to explain this?) Every single time some aloof dude treated me like a hysterical woman and--whomp whomp-- transferred me back to Priceline. And good luck ever reaching someone at the front desk or finding an actual phone number for this place. I said F it and made reservations at the Intercontinental downtown instead and it literally took one phone number, no transfers, and two minutes max.

Yelp
i need a cleaning service in my room and i talked with cleaning lady and her manager. they both told me okay they will clean and she is available and before i live to breakfast (2hours i was out ) i also wanted to talk with front desk to make sure, front desk maneger "Richard Garling" ( he calls him self that way) , he told me "if it's 3rd day of my stay' they can clean the room but not today " i explain kindly my room was not clean when i arrived and i found a bug in my room, i don't want to make it a big deal but i need cleaning for today and i don't want 3rd day anything. he didn't want to help, then i asked general manager, and he told me general manager" Ed Buckley" is not available, he is working 2 hotels at the same time i have to go to find him in the another hotel. He didn't call the another hotel and i asked i would like to talk any one in this hotel, he told me no body is in the hotel and i should post all the pictures because my room will not clean today. Finally, they didn't charge my room and didn't clean. i don't recommend this hotel just because of ugly attitude and not clean. so as he really wanted to post me all for Richard; man·ag·er /manijr/ noun; a person responsible for controlling or administering all or part of a company or similar organization. KINDLY AND PROFESSIONALLY ;)

Yelp
Alma at the Hilton Garden Inn went out of her way to help our group get situated. She was so understanding and accommodating and I would HIGHLY recommend her to anyone and everyone who attends the Hilton Garden Inn. I would come back just because of her customer service!

Yelp
The rooms need upgrading and Suzanne, at the front desk, was rude, condescending and did not value my Hilton membership. In my opinion. She should never interface with customers if she's going to over-talk people and roll her eyes when they don't accept her poor explanations. We will NEVER stay here again.
