The only good feature about this hotel is the location. Room very outdated. Had to squirm all over the bath tub to catch water from shower, it was all clogged except with a few hole pouring water out and of course in all directions except down. The bed stiff and hard as a rock, with pillows that as soon as you lay your head there pancake flat. We booked a couple nights after first night we had to buy pillows to get a some what decent rest. Terrible experience. And to make it even worse we forgot the darn pillows. We were ready to leave that place.

Very close & convenient to Midway Airport. Room with 2 very comfortable beds with down comforters. Fix up rooms every 2 days unless requested daily. Very courteous service in morning & evening, I wish I had the specific names of the 3 that were extremely friendly. Freshly cooked buffet tasted good. Very good omelettes if want to order from menu. Wish the parking price wasn’t so high but figured at that price that security personnel would be keeping an eye out. Very clean hotel.

This Hilton hotel location has tons of hidden charges. $25+ nightly parking fees, $20+ breakfast fee per person. When we expressed our concern about breakfast to the day manager, she was very dismissive and said, “Hampton has free breakfast.” Take her advice and stay at the Hampton. The manager was so rude and dismissive that we did not even bother to express our concerns with the hidden parking fee, black mold in the shower, broken shower aperture, or dead bugs all over the sink in the pool’s restroom. Instead, I simply called Hilton’s corporate offices and filed a formal complaint. Remember, if enough customers call and file a complaint with corporate, this franchise will get in trouble; so keep calling. Worst hotel and hotel experience that I’ve ever had the misfortune to endure. We are stuck at this travesty of a hotel until Friday, but if we can get out of a day or two and simply head home, we will in a heartbeat. I’ve stayed in more pleasant and honest 1-star hotel. This hotel is a blight on the Hilton name and should be investigated by their corporate. *update The owner has a canned response to every bad review on this site. The owner didn’t even address their hidden charges, filthy hotel, or their manager telling us that the Hampton is better. Also remember to file a BBB. Enough BBB reports and Hilton will get dinged, and this horrible Hilton location at Midway in particular.

The room was nice enough. It was spacious and served our needs. Apart from having no bedding for our 3rd person that slept on the fold out bed, the room was fine. Everything else was pretty bad. We were in town for a funeral. The plan was to check in, get changed and go. We got there at about 3:15 and there was a line at check in. One girl working the desk. Once it's our turn, the room wasn't ready. Took about 20-30 mins for them to clean. Not a huge deal, but annoying. As we are coming back that night, I notice all the cars in the parking lot had little orange tag thingies in their windows. I didn't have a little orange tag thingy. So I go to the front desk and ask if I need one. Yes, I have to have a parking pass so my car doesn't get towed! Would have been nice to have been told that at the beginning! But... fine. Crisis averted, just give me a pass so I can not get towed. But wait! They charge for parking!!! $20? I think. $25? Somewhere in there. By that time, I'm so tired and so pissed off, I just paid it. What choice do I have? Being charged to park at a hotel I just paid for seems outrageous to me. We were going to eat dinner at the hotel that evening. That was the plan. That night, with no explanation, the restaurant was closed. Just that night. When we made our reservation, we paid for breakfast. Of course, the next morning, we get told we aren't on some list that shows we paid. So my wife has to go figure out what's going on. Finally, she found the email that confirmed we paid, and they gave us tickets for breakfast that I assume we should have been given from the start. Now, we are clear to eat! To say that this "breakfast" was less than adequate would be an insult to the word adequate. I offered my son to use my eggs to help cool down the milk he drank with his french toast sticks. There wasn't any syrup available for said french toast sticks though. It was terrible! The food was ICE cold. The milk was warm. If you go, just plan on having toast and cereal. Don't expect anything hot, much less luke warm. I highly DO NOT recommend. This hotel is in a "mall" of other hotels. They all share a big parking lot. Pick any of the others.

Google
Extremely disappointed in this location. Will be checking out as soon as possible. Walls, floors, and ceilings covered in random stains, boogers everywhere, mold in the shower. Breakfast is 15 dollars for something that's worse quality than a super 8. The parking is 24 dollars nightly to park across from the projects so don't leave anything in your car.

All People at restaurant are great team workers but the most Diana Salazar restaurant manager..she is always trying to do Anything for guests satisfacción. Congrats!!

In the night time just one staff on the desk. It take a long wait to get reach to the staff for check in. Rooms are good, no food available. Lounge is so small.

Yelp
We've stayed here twice now before a flight at Midway. It is conveniently located near the airport and there are many great restaurants nearby; Portillos, Lou Malnati's, Giordanos and even a White Castle. On a clear night you get a great view of downtown.

Yelp
A typical experience for traveling professionals. I'm an Honors member so I was able to check in on my app and have the digital key on my phone. I had very little interaction with any of the team members. The hotel while dated, was clean and quiet. I had a suite for my two night stay. The accommodation was spacious and offers nice separation from work and rest. My four star rating is because there wasn't daily housekeeping. There's nothing better in my opinion than coming back to a freshened room after a long day. I was able to check out on the app and be on my way.

Yelp
Not a horrible hotel but it needs an update. Like most Hilton properties, this one is very updated but it fits the purpose. The bed isn't too bed and the pillows are great. Parking is ok. There is plenty to eat in the aarea. Room is very dark and dreary.

Yelp
I have stayed here a few times on occasion whenever in town for work or visiting family. The rates are decent, the rooms are clean, up to standard and comfortable. There is a small bar on the 1st floor and conveniently minutes from the airport, with a free shuttle to and from. With a pool, fitness and business centers, this Hilton Garden Inn provides good amenities and service.....until my last visit. Josh, front desk staff treated my coworkers with disrespect and unprofessionalism during our stay. The Manager was kind and understanding but definitely points lost here due to poor customer service.

Yelp
I don't care what anyone says, this hotel truly rocks. I flew in to midway about midnight. I knew that there was not a chance in heck that I was going to be able to eat dinner. Au contraire, the wonderful receptionist at Hilton Garden Inn told me that subway was open 24 hours and it was only a half a block away. Hilton Garden Inn also has a wonderful breakfast buffet my room was clean, spacious, and in my opinion, beautifully decorated. They also had a microwave so I could heat up my sandwich from Subway. Check out was easy. Everyone from the front desk to the woman making more coffee was friendly, respectful, kind, and accommodating. Thank you Hilton Garden Inn for making a trip that was not that pleasant a little more palatable.

Yelp
I kept hitting my leg on the edge of the OVERSIZED bed frame. This hotel needs a serious furniture update. The furniture looks like Hilton bought it from a hotel going out of business sale. The room was drab, basic, and not on brand for the Hilton name.

Yelp
Stayed here for 17 days, it was a nice clean hotel. All staffs were friendly, the complimentary coffee was good, the facility was clean all around. Used the gym and the laundry there. Across the street is taco bell, mcd, burger King, Lou pizza parlor, Chinese fast food, walking distant (5mins walking).

Yelp
Basic 2 star hotel The tub won't drain water And they put me at the end of the Hallway also they allow transportation companies to park in diamond reserve spots Making us have to park in the back of the building

Yelp
Nice place. Very clean. I was originally assigned to a handicapped accommodated room. I requested a change and it was easily granted, but...in 2023 there isn't a USB port anywhere! HOW???!!!!

Yelp
Noisy kids banging on my door all light and front desk wouldn't do anything. What is this place

Yelp
Definitely not recommended. Pay the little extra to feel more safe and secure. A definite disappointment

Yelp
I arrived very late in the night, completely exhausted from my numerous flights due to multiple delays. The staff was very accommodating and patient with the long line of people. There's a restaurant and shop stop next to the lobby. There are also multiple relaxing areas for people to lounge around. I love that there is 24/7 free shuttle to the airport. At the end of my stay, check out was very easy. You can stay in line to check out or drop off your two room key cards in the contact-less checkout box. This is helpful for those who tend to run late to the airport.
google avatar

Thomas W.

Yelp
The room didn't even have a deadbolt lock for the door. They wouldn't fix it or change rooms. Not safe.
google avatar

Keith B.

Yelp
I had a super quick stay here....about 6 hours. Had a very early am flight next day, and arrived 10 pm. Is it luxurious compared to my downtown hotel? heck no. Was it clean, near the airport, and had a free shuttle starting at 4 am, yup. What I really want to comment on was the grill/kitchen. Typically I would eat at a restaurant off property. Due to the late timing, and just needed something in my belly, I ordered a chicken sandwich they have on the menu (there's only one). It was phenomenal. Instead of fries I got fruit. Once again, the fruit (strawberry and pineapple) was incredible. Even left some for the next morning for breakfast, still great. So don't overlook the restaurant at this HGI if you need some grub like I did.

Yelp
Great first impression when you walk in. Carried forward by clean and tidy rooms, well laid out design, and quality staff. The hotel bar has drinks that are not too overpriced so that's good. Has an indoor pool, and a great outdoor sitting area. Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5 Cleanliness: 5 Quality: 4 Value: 4

Yelp
I stayed 2 nights at this hotel and would never stay again and suggest you choose another location too. Rude staff. Hair in made-up bed and on clean towels.

Leslie P.

Yelp
Please avoid this place. They have bed bugs. Gave terrible rash. The reception desk changed our room but was very negligent to our concerns and it was not a troubling or concerning situation at all to them. Everything else around us was booked otherwise we would have left. Please do not stay here. They do not care about their customers.

Mark J.

Yelp
Terrible service. My brother who uses a wheelchair because he's quadriplegic, reserved an "accessible" room that he can't transfer from his chair to the bed without significantly more assistance than he would normally. They refused to lower the bed for him. We returned to the room after being out all days expecting our room to be cleaned. We were told it's cleaned only if we're staying more than 5 days. When did service become so terrible? I will never book at Hilton Garden Inns again.

Nicky M.

Yelp
This has been the worst experience since check in. It was two ladies at the front desk who both had attitudes and didn't seem to care about anybody checking in. The purpose of me picking this hotel was to have a relaxing get away with my children and enjoy the heated pool. I was told the pool was closed and that they didn't know when it would open. the problem was out of her hands and just check back. The morning comes for break I'm expecting to go do for a hot meal and I'm told well I server called off so only cold meals. I can't enjoy this because I'm lactose intolerant. the overall experience has been terrible and I would never book here again.

Tracy B.

Yelp
The whole hallway smelled like weed, and the lock on the door sucked, the card didn't work half the time so we slid it through and unlocked it that way, talking about safety, than the room was dirty, the ice bucket filthy, than they take my deposit right away, never waited till after the day I left, they said cause the smoking in the room," Helllooooo, impossible I'm on oxygen noone can smoke around me in a small room with my tanks

Yelp
Writing an review for a hotel is one thing~ But, writing your experience after crashing into a place for full WEEK~ NOT for leisure but for business traveling~ is another~ The reason of saying that is the simply, your judgment for satisfaction will be different, If your stay wasn't dominated by the meetings or various of business agendas! Anyways~ it IS a HILTON~ so~ the experience is almost guaranteed with great level of quality. and this place certainly delivers. From the check-in, it is just smooth. The ROOM, well, it is just superb Hilton standard at the minimum. Its Spacious, Its Comfortable~ And the bed, IS JUST DEADLY! No matter how many hours you had snuggle with the pillows, it will still trap your body and soul........... in the good way. This place has a pool~ gym~ business/computer center~ bar + restaurant and etc....... This place is absolutely cozy~ Its just a shame that, my visit was in December~ and the bittering windy weather of Chicago's just did not give me enough of mood to really appreciate this place more. Another thing is~ this place, along with other airport hotels, equips with efficient airport shuttle services~ If you swing by MidWay Airport~ this is an excellent place to crash~ at an awesome price!

Yelp
With all the business travel that I end up doing, I get sick of the small charges that accumulate in hotels (between wifi, using the fitness center, etc.). I was pleasantly surprised with this hotel - great gym, free wifi, nice rooms, and within walking distance to some restaurants (I was lazy and had Jimmy John's delivered to the lobby instead - always a good option). While this hotel is far away from downtown Chicago, it's perfect if you're about to jet out to Midway airport early the next morning. In strip mall central, but with a free shuttle, what more would you ask for?

Maureen F.

Yelp
We stayed here for 1 night. We checked in late and left early for an 8 am flight. The front desk girl was very sweet but she was by herself. We were annoyed we had to pay $21 to park over night in their lot.
google avatar

Phon W.

Yelp
This was a nice and clean facility. We stayed for 3 nights and the room was comfortable for the minimal time we were there. It's a good location close to Midway and not too far from downtown. I like that there's always coffee around. Employees were nice. No Free Breakfast No Free Parking Free WiFi
google avatar

Edward W.

Yelp
Nudging four stars. This Hilton Garden is convenient to the MDW airport, and it's clean and bright. A great value for the dollar. Close to Friday's, a Starbucks (in the neighboring Marriott), and a couple of blocks from Giordano's. This is the perfect value play near Midway.
google avatar

Steve T.

Yelp
Stayed here for the Chicago Marathon. It was a great hotel; affordable, clean and very well kept. The rooms were updated and the location was close enough to downtown Chicago. I was also impressed by the food (dinner/breakfast). The best part about this hotel was the staff. They were extremely helpful, especially when we ended up forgetting a pair of boots in our room. They quickly took care of the issue by fedex'ing the boots back to us within 2 days.
google avatar

Breanna P.

Yelp
Booked this hotel through Travelocity for a pretty good price. It's close to Midway Airport and has a shuttle that will take you to the airport (might even pick you up from the airport but not sure). The rooms are a big dark with the decor, not super outdated but not modern either. I noticed some stains on the walls and the lamp shade which isn't too appealing. Overall, I'd stay again.
google avatar

Angel G.

Yelp
rooms are comfortable and great for business individuals since it has a desk. Friendly employees, diner in lobby open for breakfast & dinner making it easy to grab a bite. Giordano pizza a block away if you want Chicago deep dish. Nice neighborhood behind hotel, great parking and large indoor pool.
google avatar

Dave W.

Yelp
Close to Midway airport, the property is clean, comfortable and what you would generally expect for a Hilton Garden Inn. They were flexible on our checkout time. We'll return if the circumstances warrant it! The breakfast was great for the hotel-breakfast-kind-of-deal, including made to order omelets, crispy bacon, sausage (did not partake), biscuits, breads, yogurt, fruit and strong coffee. Maria, our server for breakfast each morning, was very accommodating and professional.
google avatar

Colleen A.

Yelp
Other reviewers have given good information about the hotel, so I'll just say that I agree with all the positive comments. The staff was friendly, the room was comfortable, and free wi-fi is always appreciated. Overnight parking was only $13. There are several restaurants nearby; I walked across the parking lot to the Marriott for dinner at Dempsey's. I like that the Hilton Garden Inn participates in a water conservation program for sheets and towels, but wish they'd do something else besides give out bottled water at check in.
google avatar

Dave C.

Yelp
Excellent one night stay, however, the digital key didn't work and I had to leave my wife in the hall and go back to the front desk
google avatar

Yelp
Just checked into this hotel , soon as we walked in the young lady name Shay at the front desk greeted us with a smile and was very helpful and pleasant ... rooms are clean Would Definitely recommend this hotel. Thank you Shay for making the check in so easy and thank you for being a caring person
google avatar

Abby M.

Yelp
Ugh, I wish I could say something better than the lady at the front desk working the night shift was the only person that made this experience a bit better. We checked in at 10pm, got the room key, walked in our room to find other people in the room that just checked in as well. Walked to the front and got a new key. Not wanting to make a scene in front of other guests, I dropped it and headed to the room. Got in the room and found that the tv didn't work (wanted to watch game 5 of the World Series tied in the 5th), went downstairs and got in a new room... while watching the game, we got ready for bed and I started to fall asleep because we needed to be up at 4am... Just as I fell asleep the smoke alarm went off for absolutely no reason in our room... went downstairs and was put in our 4th and final room. Completely unacceptable Hilton and I'm so upset with this.

Matt L.

Yelp
Been a Hilton honors member for years. I stay approx 60-70 nights a year, so I'm not rated an isolated incident as I have a large number of hotels to choose from. Being diamond status gives me free premium wifi and breakfast. Neither was worth it. Ordered omelette this morning with light cheese. That little quarter sized spot in the middle of the scorched mass was it. Totally inedible. Helping my diet though. Last night couldn't even log a complaint online about the total lack of tv reception as the "premium" internet kept going out. Of the 35 channels on the card in the room, only 12 work. That's counting channel 3-the channel guide. Other than that, enjoy your network channels. that's all you'll get
google avatar

Yelp
Great service, near inexpensive eating, airport shuttle, comfortable room, saved 40 percent on Hotwire!

Mimi D.

Yelp
PLEASE DO NOT GO TO THIS INFESTED ROACH HOTEL I've witnessed roaches in my bathroom vent! Vents aren't cleaned very dusty and dirty. When I was gonna take a shower at night that's when I witness a roach on the shower tiles I killed it and left the bathroom I came back again to witness anymore roaches and found ANOTHER by the picture frame in the bathroom. It was so disgusting! That I called the front desk people and told them about the issue and said that they didn't know that there were in roaches in the building and that they'll sure to call an exterminator the next day. I turned out to come down to the desk to talk more of this issue and to talk about my refund, nobody wasn't at the desk but I saw this lady (there's a Landry room behind the desk) shaking off the blankets to make sure there wasn't any roaches on them. I've also witnessed the blankets on the hotel beds looked dirty kinda black and dingy. I called the front desk again for my refund and said that they refused to give back our money and said that they "don't expect cash" WHEN we first got to the front desk they said that we could PAY CASH! We've payed $1,000 for A WEEK here! And said that we'll have to speak to the manager here and that our money will be mailed to us I'm very disappointed in this hotel and thought this hotel would be great ! But it wasn't. ‼‼PLEASE DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS ROACH PLACE ‼‼

Yelp
**TOURIST REVIEW** My husband and I had a quick fun trip to Chicago and wanted a comfy affordable hotel near midway. This place was it. Free pick up and drop off red shuttle to and from airport. Found good pricing on Priceline and better pricing using my AAA discount. I could not believe how quiet the room was. We did not hear folks in the hallway or planes outside. The staff was prompt and nice. Show pressure good, and hot water. Room was clean. TV Flatscreen and a good selection of channels. If you're staying by MDW (midway) and looking for clean nice place to stay I highly recommend this hotel. We'll be back for sure.
google avatar

Nathan L.

Yelp
I like this hotel. It works in so many ways for a quick business trip when visiting because of the location and the shuttle. It also has very comfortable beds and decent layout in the rooms. Overall it is hotel I always try and stay at when I am visiting. Also you have to love the cookies at night!
google avatar

Paula T.

Yelp
Very nice stay! The only reason for a four instead of a five star was my dining experience. One person to run the bar and wait tables at dinner and she was swamped. Not her fault, but took forever to get anything (including water).
google avatar

Elaine W.

Yelp
It happens every trip--I will forget to pack something, usually a small toiletry item. This time it was my contact lens case. I checked in at 10pm, wanting nothing more than to pass out onto a soft surface. Unfortunately they did not sell contact lens cases. Only the Renaissance Inn nearby had it. Before I could even envision going back out there, getting a taxi to the Renaissance Inn, the gentleman at the front desk who conveyed this info immediately offered to go out there, get a lens case and bring to my room. THANK YOU. When I got upstairs I did not have high expectations that this lens case would appear at my door anytime before I was ready to pass out. But within 15 minutes there was a knock and it was promptly delivered. What a refreshing experience! Overall convenient location right by Midway airport with a free shuttle to the airport (and the Ultimate Air Shuttle take off building) every 20 min all day and night. Free room wifi worked perfectly. Would be back for future business trips.
google avatar

Barbara S.

Yelp
We got diverted to Chicago due to bad weather in Atlanta. No complaints about the bar service last night! Keisha took good care of us, other than ringing our phone at 10 pm and lost our check, had to go back down and sign again. But she was great at taking care of a ton of people by herself! We are Hilton Diamond members so we love the Hilton brand! Headed to the DR this morning, 39 mph wind, 32 degrees and rain, I hope we make it out.
google avatar

Tracy J.

Yelp
Probably a 3.5 star but definitely adequate and clean near the Midway airport. It is a little noisy from the airport noise but not too bad. There is lots of parking but it costs $16 per day. It is grouped with a lot of other hotels in the same parking lot (Hampton, Holiday Inn, and a few others) as various other decent lodging. Rooms are very roomy with microwave, refrigerators and keurig. Nothing to brag about but sufficient.
google avatar

Matt B.

Yelp
So, they charge for parking, which is a bit unexpected, since the don't actually tell you this... Bathrooms are average at best. The bar area is awful and can't even really be considered a bar. The TVs are ridiculously hard to turn on a handle, so that's irritating. Internet is free, but really slow to connect to (works fine once connected). Beds are wonky, but there are sufficient pillows. The hot tub is cold for a hot tub - I've swam in pools hotter. It's also got irritatingly restricted hours, so you can't enjoy it on your own time.
google avatar

Kathleen K.

Yelp
This is a pretty nice HGI. Very close to the airport and most importantly, close to Dos Ricos (the best Mexican/Chinese fusion restaurant probably in existance, since there are likely not many). My TV wouldn't turn on when I first got there. They sent someone up to fix it and apparently I turned it too far and unplugged the cord in the back. I'm an idiot. But the guy was really nice about it and tried to make me feel better by saying that it happens all the time, haha.
google avatar

Stacey H.

Yelp
An overall comfy pleasant experience. We stayed here coming to and from the airport during our vacation visiting family in Michigan. The first leg of the trip we had a room with two queens on the back side of the hotel and the second time we got upgraded to a suite since they were out of rooms with queens and we're Hilton members. I love that on the side of their beds there is a nob to adjust the firmness/softness of your bed to ensure the most enjoyable night's sleep. The rooms are very clean and they are accommodating with additional toiletries as needed. They also have some of the best complimentary shampoo and conditioner for a hotel I've been in with a Neutrogena brand that actually makes your hair feel clean! Because we're members we had free access to the morning buffet which was very tasty and the staff were willing to grab anything you needed. The reason for the drop of one star is that if your room is on the backside you can hear what I believe is the train yard next door throughout the night. This was hard to fall asleep to but when the AC kicked on it covered the screeching break noise. Next time we stay here I will request a room in the front.

T S.

Yelp
Helen is a great bartender and waitress! The hotel is nice and clean the best in midway! Will recommend this hotel again!
google avatar

Ryan G.

Yelp
They shouldn't even get one star because these assholes called us at 7 o'clock at night the day we were checking in to tell us they had given our room to someone who decided to extend their stay and had moved us to a far worse hotel down the street and were still charging us the same price. Excuse the language but fuck these people they screwed us over and ruined the entire weekend, especially considering we flew all the way out to Chicago to be screwed over by this crap hotel, having to know crash on a friend's couch to avoid paying hundreds to stay at in a dirty small room.
google avatar

Yelp
Nice rooms, well appointed, convenient. Absolutely lost me on the hidden, nefarious $13 parking charge in the fine print on their website. Totally unacceptable! I thought to leave in protest except I checked in after 6pm, so I couldn't cancel without being charged. Avoid all the hotels on the west side of Cicero between 65th and 67th. They all do this. Completely shady and coporately evil!
