A large part of me really doesn't want to write this but a larger part felt I should. I got in at 1am and the woman who checked me in was not friendly at all. I smiled and tried my best but I guess they were in a bad mood and took it out on me. When I checked in, I mentioned when I called in an hour before they said I could use my Hilton points to bring down the price of my stay. She told me I could do only do that at checkout not checkin. When I checked out, I was told I couldn't only use points to pay when I check in. So...I was given the runaround and no one could help me. Really upset me tbh. Not sure why I was treated so poorly. I did learn next time to make the reservation online to not have this issue. People of the world, unite and be nice. Your negative energy spreads like a virus.

The only thing good was the location. Our room 828 was dirty, toilet had what appeared to be shit splatter. There was an empty bottle of liquor. There was water from the previous guest in the ice bucket, with no plastic bag to line it. We ran out of tissues and asked the front desk and she could not find any. We did request for housekeeping but they only come if you stay 4 nights, we just stayed 2 nights. Overall staff appeared stressed due to being short staffed. Subsequently our toilet clogged, I suspect it was due to already barely working. It took them forever to give us a plunger. Definitely would never stay there again, horrendous job by Hilton.

When we went to our room, the hallway was full of noisy blowers. The base trim was pulled back along the floor. We assumed they were doing some remodeling, and the blowers would be turned off at night. When I asked the front desk, they said a water main broke and the blowers were drying out the area and shouldn't affect our stay. When we returned to our room late at night, they were still blowing. It was so noisy we couldn't sleep. Other people in our group left halfway through the night. It was terrible. We should have asked to move to another room, but we were already settled in when they told us it wouldn't affect us. Besides that, the pillows were tiny little hard squares that were the most uncomfortable pillow we've ever used. Hotel location was great, the breakfast was delicious but it was a very noisy, unrestful experience. They should have never put people on that floor at all until it was fully repaired.

I recently stayed here for a work trip, and was less than impressed. First, the restaurant/bar. We sat at the bar as the 'dining room' looked closed. The menu was scant, and my burger was more rare than medium, and my colleague had what she described as the worst Cobb salad ever. Next, the room itself. The cover on the bed was dirty. Like, you could see black embedded in the fibers. The bathtub was also not clean. But the worst part? When I went to bed (after stripping off the offending duvet and it's cover cause the sheets HAD to have been cleaner, right?) I kept smelling this musty odor like dried sweat... It was the pillows! All four pillows smelled like a teenage boy's laundry after too many days re-wearing a tee shirt cause 'it don't stink too bad.' I tossed them all off the bed and slept without, though it was not a good night. As I was there for work, I didn't get a chance to lodge a complaint the next morning, and my colleague wound up getting us rooms at the other location after being told there wouldn't be a penalty for checking out early. I asked the front desk about a refund for the nights not spent at that location, and they said we would have to contact the booking site - and the booking site said they had to talk to the hotel. The end result? No refund. I find it reprehensible that a hotel can be this dirty, especially a Hilton brand. The other location was lovely, and I wish we had stayed there the first night too. Whoever is overseeing this particular location, step it up and make sure the rooms are actually being cleaned properly; for what guests pay to stay there, those rooms should never look (and smell) like it did during my stay.

We attended an event at the hotel this evening. Everything was fabulous, but the parking app was showing a license plate that wasn’t ours. The event staff told us to stop by the front desk for help. We did and encountered the most rude and unhelpful woman. Before we could finish explaining our concern, she interrupted and said the parking lot was owned by a third party and there was nothing she could do. I asked if there was a number I could call to get help and she repeated herself. We asked her what our options were because we weren’t sure if we’d be able to get out and she repeated herself a third time. She had a really unpleasant demeanor and did absolutely nothing to help us. As we were walking away from the desk, she even told us that if we hit their gate, we would be prosecuted!! We had a wonderful night at the hotel, but it was ruined by this woman’s behavior. I’m hoping she was just having a rough night and doesn’t regularly treat other guests like this. Please provide her with some much-needed training.

My anxiety began to rise as we pulled up to this “Hilton” located next to a scenic highway overpass, but I was still hoping for a somewhat decent hotel. Do not be fooled by the spacious, and somewhat modern appearance of the hotel lobby, as it is all downhill from there. The rooms are dated, cramped, and smell of mildew, and a simple request of a turn down or a few extra towels is simply too great of a request for the staff to oblige. The sink in the restroom will leak for the entirety of your stay, and you will have large water stains on the ceiling tiles. You will pay an exorbitant parking fee to use the “guarded” parking lot, and your vehicle’s windows will be smashed in and your belongings stolen from your car, and the hotel will tell you it’s not their problem.

Me and the wife have stayed several times as a lay over before taking a early flight out the following morning. Only once has the bar been open for a early evening night cap before heading to our room. When you ask the staff at the counter about there hours of operation they ALWAYS treat you like dirt. Given they way the operation is run and the ladies of the evening working the hotel we are sorry to say we will not be back.

Google
Positive: Location and the bar/restaurant was good. Negative: The floor they put us on had a leak so the other side of hall had fans that were loud and we all woke up with a stuffy nose the next morning. The room was not the cleanest and there is no shuttle as advertised. She said they haven?t had one for years!

Yelp
Meh. There are better hotels in the area. My boyfriend and I decided to do a staycation and get a hotel for our anniversary that was closer to Little Italy. I am glad I didn't book through them because if I would have paid what they had listed I would have been very upset. I got a decent deal through Priceline where you don't get to see the hotel until you book. The good: Friendly enough front desk The bad: Uncomfortable, sunken in bed, dirty mattress. The "fitted" sheet did not even fit on the bed it kept popping off. Bedding was dreadful and not comfortable at all. Sheets felt rough no nice big comforter. Coffee maker in room did not work. 20$ charge for parking on their own lot. No free breakfast. Probably wouldn't stay here again.

Yelp
I wish I would have read the reviews before selecting this hotel. Possibly the worst Hilton branded hotel I have stayed in after over a thousand nights. I'm half expecting to see roaches in my room. Quite concerned about bed bugs. I am pretty sure I rode up on the elevator with a call girl living in this hotel. I am not sure how to contact hilton corp to get this shutdown but it needs to be! The gentleman working the front desk could not have been less friendly. He was borderline rude.

Tammy R.

Yelp
Dirty, old, and scary. This hotel is disgusting. They doubled the price last minute at over $400. It's a joke. I found a packet of room keys on the desk and the walls are filthy. Had a yogurt bowl for breakfast - $10 for stake granola and sour yogurt. We don't even eat it. Save yourself and stay elsewhere.

Yelp
Oh, No! DO NOT GO! I have never given any restaurant, hotel or anything else a 1 star until today. Hilton should retract their association with this establishment that is not even owned by Hilton. (I guess it was to get their LOGO on top of this very old building next to Progressive Field. ) Lets start with the positives. Hmm? What were they? Oh, wait, I thought of one! The room was pretty quiet. (old buildings have real walls, not just drywall.) Hey, another one. It is right next door to Progressive Field- would be convenient for baseball goers. (not my visit). Our check out clerk was nice. Well, that's it! Negatives. (get ready, folks!) Only 1 set of towels for a 3 day stay.(You only get housekeeping after 4 day stay.) Therefore, no cups, no hot cups, no coffee for the coffee machine, one little-bitty soap bar without any soap dish-(ooey-gooey after 3 days). Tiny garbage can overflowing after 3 days, empty bath gel container, only 1 tissue in the tissue box, no USB ports(not even in the business rooms),- glad I happened to have a 120volt adapter. Breakfast was horrible. Burnt bacon, burnt sausage, rubber-like eggs. etc. I should have taken photo.) Also over charged us. $18.00 per day. But, the real killer is, how many people have reported in their reviews that either their car was broken into, or STOLEN!! (Guess it happens frequently). Parking right in front of entrance-no security cameras. $25.00 a night parking fee. Security guard?-some dude was sound asleep in the guard duty house on the first night, otherwise no one available to open the gate to the parking area. Frustrating. Oh, wait! One more positive. I guess were were blessed that our car wasn't stolen and got home safely. This is not a Hilton Garden Inn in any sense of the word, my friends.

Yelp
the parking here is so bad that we were late for multiple reservations it took so long to be let out. the highlight of our trip was coming back to see someone had run into the lever for leaving, that's how bad it was. we would call and be left on hold, just to walk in and see no one at the front desk. one time the poor girl at the booth had to go inside twice just to get us let out. it was a convenient spot, but such a hassle that we will not be back.

Mark C.

Yelp
Great location kitty corner to Progressive Field. Room was clean. Bed comfortable. Front desk help was friendly. Real nice outside patio. Did not eat breakfast though.

Padma A.

Yelp
It was an okay stay but the good thing was the receptionist Carl stayed up late because we checked in after midnight because of our long drive from Chicago.. Room was basic with clean beds .

Yelp
We stayed here on 7/27/24 to attend a Henry Cho show at the Masonic. Of all the things to forget, toothpaste! Had asked the front desk about a vending machine for personal effects. They only have the usual snacks and alcohol available. Another employee overheard my question and directed us to a BP gas station behind the hotel. KD in engineering was a life-saver! She was very friendly, smiling, helpful, and is a true asset to this hotel. KD gets my vote for Employee of the Month! The world needs more KD's! Please thank her for us. Margaret and her partner Sandy in the bar at Harvey's were efficient, helpful about the area, and made our visit before the show very pleasant. - Tim & Gail

Yelp
Our stay at the this hotel was terrible. Everyone at the front desk was rude and very short with us. When we went to our room, it seemed fine but there were not enough towels for our family. When we went downstairs to ask for more towels, the worker that night couldn't care less about getting us towels and sat on his phone before he noticed us standing there waiting to get his attention. Several times we tried to go swimming but not only was the swimming pool very small for the size of this hotel, but it was very dirty and lots of small children were running around unattended. Very unsafe. Our TV also kept glitching and once I called guest services to see what the problem was, they did nothing about it after they said they would "look into it". On top of all this, the real problem was the parking. We had to pay $20 a night for a parking lot that was "supposed" to have a security guard but not once during our 2 night-stay did we see one. On our last day as we grabbed our stuff to go pack up the car after checking out, our car was broken into and some money was stolen from us! The staff tried to help by calling the police and having someone come to the hotel to clean up the broken glass and wrap our window for us and I will say they did refund us for the last night's parking when the incident happened. This was not a very enjoyable experience at this Hilton hotel and we will not be returning. It is very unsafe to have a hotel downtown without any sercurity or security cameras, ESPECIALLY when you have a cars being broken into often! Customers services was very dissatisfying and made us feel not welcome and ignored.

Yelp
The hotel room was clean, I was able to sleep well. The hotel is walking distance to Progressive Field and to the highway.

Les R.

Yelp
The service and employees alone make the stay! Rooms were clean, comfortable, and had no real issues. I had thought about choosing another hotel based on some of the reviews and SO HAPPY I didn't. Enjoyed the stay, good location, and dog friendly. Check in was easy. I did it on the app roughly 24 hours prior to arrival. I requested a 3pm check in and received a text the next day at 1:30pm the digital key was ready and credit card authorizations came through. Stopped by the front desk to sign the pet paperwork and make sure everything was good to go. Housekeeping and some of the COVID and Hilton Guidelines and perks have changed but nothing too extreme. Doors have a slight air gap at the bottom so the non-party excessive noise policy is nice. The limited housekeeping is a bit odd. Every seven days if you are here that long, or linens and amenities on request. Parking is $20 a day with is not bad but they have their own gated ground lot which is nice. I can't say that I have ever seen a downtown hotel that doesn't charge for parking but it's usually a garage or had valley. Price not too outrageous. Room was a standard King. I really liked our room and the view made it delightful. Could see all of downtown with the lake in the background. Even though it wasn't newly updated it was still nice and wasn't that outdated for an older hotel. Noticed some minor carpet fraying where the tile meets the carpet. Not a fan of the comforters and pillows but just not my preference. I prefer pillows not so fluffy you get sucked in and prefer comforters that are heavy and not so thin like a throw blanket. Great view so suggest even room numbers to get the city view. Price point for this hotel appears to be standard. I would have liked to have seen a better price but it was ok and the stay was good so no real complaints. Lobby and common hours were way clean, nice, and inviting. Checked out the pool, gym, on-site laundry room, and business office but didn't get to use them. It was nice to have those if needed and other guest seemed to really be a fan of the pool. Hopefully next trip. As a Hilton Honors Diamond member, which meant at this hotel I got VIP Parking (I call it princess parking) close to entrance and a late checkout without rushing. You really would have the overall same experience If you were not a Hilton Honors member or not, aside from those little extra perks. So would recommend understanding you might see so some of the minor details but nothing too major. I only noticed as details stand out to me but no real complaints. Check out was easy though the night prior I was told we could have a 2pm check out as Diamond member so we could grab lunch, the checking the next morning it was one due to housekeeping. This would have been a full five star review but the no housekeeping option during the stay and then the change of checkout do to limited housekeeping made a less than full perfect stay. I do want to highlight through out the stay every single employee was super nice and encoring and makes you feel like a welcomed guest. Some Hilton hotels have slipped in this area and could learn from this staff from the front desk to housekeeping. Would totally stay here again and would highly recommend the location if you are traveling with a dog. It was our first time traveling with Ellie and worked out perfectly. With the dog policy we were able to bring her and not board for this extended weekend trip. There is a $50 non refunds pet fee too but it's in the policy and was absolutely worth the additional cost.

Yelp
Okay. Have to be fair as I can about this. There was nothing particularly wrong with it. I stayed here solely for the reason it was on my route east, and it was next to the stadium so I could catch a night game. The hotel itself is very average. The bedrooms are pleasant enough, though the bed doesn't quite fit the bedframe so about an inch of it sticks out. Kinda weird. The fridge and the AC unit are pretty loud. I had to disconnect the fridge simply to prevent madness. I was on the street side, but the street noise was unnoticed. There is a considerable crack beneath the front door though, so hallway noise and a shaft of light seep in. The bed itself was pretty comfy, but the pillows way too marshmallowy. It's not the sort of bed everyone would enjoy, but presumably some would. The grab-n-go breakfast was a bit lame. I would have liked hot breakfasts of eggs and bacey, but I guess covid times mean we can't have nice things anymore. The parking is included with the price, which is a huge plus. The late hours may produce what some would consider to be the undesirables lingering around at night. The hotel is in one of those "sorta downtown but the less nice part of downtown" Anyway, not going to complain too much. Not worth the price, imo but definitely convenient for a one-night baseball game passing through town.

Wendy N.

Yelp
We have stayed at this particular Hilton Garden Inn at least once a year for the last 20 years (usually more than once a year). Unfortunately, after this past weekend, we are going to find another hotel. The pro is that it is very close to Progressive Field for a baseball game (hence, why we stay here all the time). The new parking system is atrocious. It does not work very well at all. For me in particular, it NEVER worked. We had to go to the front desk to have someone let us in every time and it never let us out properly. Once, someone had to come let us out, and the second time we had to call the front desk, which I was hung up on not once, but twice. The front desk staff in general were rude, impolite, and not helpful. It turned into a game at the pool watching everyone try to get in and out because it was just impossible. When we got to the room after checking in, there was no bedding for the pull out couch. So I called the front desk and the gentleman said to give him 20 minutes to round up some bedding. Went downstairs in 20 minutes and the same gentleman said that they would bring it up to the room. This is around 4pm. We went to the ballgame and returned to the hotel around 11pm. No bedding. So I went down to the front desk again to ask for bedding. The woman working, sighed, acted totally put out by me asking this, and said she didn't think they had any bedding. I explained how we had asked 7 hours prior so they really needed to find us something so the kids had somewhere to sleep. She finally went into the back and found "the last set" of bedding for us. Speaking of checking in, my in-laws received confirmation in the app that their room was ready so they went to settle in and when they opened the door, the tv was on and beds were not made. Clearly, not ready yet. The next morning, we wake up and I realize we only have 2 bath towels, and 4 people. Went down to the front desk to ask for 2 towels. Was informed that they had no towels and someone would bring us some when they were available. This was around 9am. Waited for a while then went back down to the front desk. Still no towels. Found a housekeeping cart and asked the housekeeper and she did not have towels. Towels arrived at 11:30, but they were brand new, still with tags, and had not been laundered. So there was white fuzz everywhere. But yay, at least everyone could finally shower! Then the toilet overflowed. This is getting quite long so I will quickly list all of the other little things. It seemed like everywhere we turned or anything we did had issues. The conditioner in the shower was empty. The door to the room was stained with this brown liquid looking stuff dripping down it. The key in the app would not open the door to the pool, it kept thinking it was the workout room. There were no pool towels available all weekend. Everyone kept stealing the mini ones (like the size of a hand towel) from the workout room. Signs were posted that there were only ice machines on floors 4, 6, 8, and 10. But the ones on 6 and 8 were broken. So there were only working ice machines on floors 4 and 10. There was no "Do not disturb" sign in our room. Asked the front desk and they said they did not have any. It was semi-entertaining watching the characters going in and out of the methadone clinic across the street. Do not go out at night in this area if a game is not going on. It is not a safe area. I see a lot of people talking about car break ins, but we did not have that problem this time, thank goodness.

Pj E.

Yelp
The room was clean and hotel staff was friendly, but there are metal plates in front of the hotel covering portions of the street. We had a room facing Lake Erie/Progressive Field and the noise from cars running over it all night was very loud. The next morning, we awoke to 5 cars broken into at the hotel paid parking lot on property. There is smashed windows just outside the front doors. It's amazing they charge an extra $20 to park in a hotel parking lot - then have no security or responsibility for break-ins. What are we paying for?!?

Betsy M.

Yelp
The restaurant and bar were good. I had to pay for coffee after 11:00 am! There was no soap in the shower or on the sink counter. The king-size mattress was hard as a rock and the fitted sheet kept slipping off one corner. The hot tub whirlpool had a 3" layer of foam on it. The people in a room close to us were smoking weed and the smell was everywhere in the hall and our room started to smell like it too. The hotel staff and the police kicked them out, but it happened again the next night. I thought the person at the desk would offer to take something off our bill, like a breakfast or something, (or even the coffee I had to pay for) but the only thing we got was a muttered apology and no eye contact.

Noah H.

Yelp
Stayed here for a Cavs game. I'll be straight to the point. Spend a few more dollars and go anywhere else. Place is gross, cleaned terribly, room is outdated as hell and far from clean. My family got 3 rooms and not single one of the 3 was clean enough that we felt comfortable in the shower or beds, There was hair under the toilet in the one room. Hair in the shower in another The last one has what looked like half a bag of chips crushed and stuffed under the chair cushions in the chair from the 50s they give you in the room. Go anywhere else and if you have friends or family coming don't embarrass yourself inviting them here.

John S.

Yelp
One of the worst hotels we've ever stayed in. Shame on you for carrying the Hilton name. Children ruled this hotel all day and night. We couldn't use the fitness center, pool, or hot tub, due to 30 unaccompanied children tearing up the place. 20 dollar parking fee and our car was tampered with. Of course no cameras. Room was very overrated and breakfast was 18 dollars per person. Website says included. The ONLY good thing about this craphole was the staff. They were very friendly. Thanks for ruining our 33rd anniversary stay mr. Owner. We will never stay at Hilton again because of you!

Ashley S.

Yelp
Park at your own risk. You should absolutely not be charged for parking while cars are getting broken into and stolen from this lot daily. Our window was smashed and broken into while we were there for one night along with 3 other cars in the lot. The hotel advised of no cameras and that it happens all the time. Carl was very helpful and the front desk manager was nice and helpful and offered a 50% refund. I ended up getting a full refund after complaining which I do appreciate. The police took 4 hours to arrive and were not phased at all by this happening. For anyone reading this that it does happen to, safelight down the street will do a free crash wrap for the window thankfully so we could drive the 3 hour drive home. Safety in the parking lot seems to be a huge concern. Wish I would have read the reviews prior. Also we had one towel in our room. There were no additional towels available when we had asked, also no body wash in the shower. When asked for body wash they advised were out and gave HAND soap instead. Oh also there was a NAKED man running around on the 10th floor and the staff thought it was funny. We were there for a cheer competition with a hotel full of little girls. They brought him a blanket to cover up.

Yelp
Hotel Sadly, as a fan of the HGI chain, I have to admit this is not the kind of place I was expecting from the chain. Lobby is fine enough and there are some nice seating areas in the lobby and restaurant side. The bar is a stand alone affair which is somewhat different from the usual HGI setup. Rooms were in line with the rest of the chain in terms of size and layout. Rooms looked old in general and what really got my attention, is that I had a room on the 10th floor and see something under the AC unit.. I take a look at it and it is a sticky rodent trap with a large smear of peanut butter on it... just awesome... so I look around and see another behind the nightstand right next to the bed... So, after that I basically couldn't sleep... my thoughts were: I would come back from a meeting or be jostled from my sleep and suddenly hear a lot of squealing from one of those traps... how do you get rodents on the top floor- I assume they are running rampant on the roof. SMH Beyond the rodent issue, which to me was the main issue, the bar area was just bleak. The place was large and may have seen better days. I presume it is that way to handle the crowds for the ballpark which is right across the road but in the winter is was just terrible - you wanted to walk out as soon as you walked in. Drinks and food were fine enough and the bartender was ok- she looked like she wanted to be anywhere but there. It would be great if that space was more inviting. Parking is tight but adequate. There is a gate for entry and exit that requires your room key to open. All in all I think I will stay over at the Hilton from now on.

Lala M.

Yelp
It's worst than a motel 6 here. I feel like it's a homeless shelter. There were homeless ppl sleeping in the lobby-it was raining outside so I understand they wanted warmth. My biggest problem tho is that my bathroom-the toilet doesn't work. Go to the lobby and there's a sign on the lobby bathroom door-out of order. Like what type of hell am I in? 24 hours toilet still isn't working atp do u go to a gas station??? I hate it here! Don't come! No gym access either-that's out of order too.

Andrea F.

Yelp
Great location and very modern. I really enjoyed my stay. Room was spotless. I would definitely stay again!

Rob D.

Yelp
I stayed here for one night while I was in town for business. I am only glad that it was only one night. I found that the room and hotel in general seemed really run down. The bright spot of my stay was that the Staff was pretty amazing. I expect better from the Hilton Brands and hope that they look into renovating or just starting over from scratch.

Kristine A.

Yelp
Overall this place was alright, nothing special. It was nice to be close enough to walk to the Guardians game across the street & walk downtown like 15+ min away. I didn't care for the room being next to elevator since you could hear stuff. Decent size room w/ fridge which doesn't always happen anymore. The pillows were really big & puffy that you sunk into but not my jam though. The tv was really big & nice to have a comfy chair to sit in. Water pressure didn't exist in the shower though.

Donna C.

Yelp
This is the worst hotel I've ever been in. They want to charge you extra to have a maid clean your room. The beds are totally uncomfortable, the sheets don't fit the bed, and the pillows are flat and they charge for parking. The closet in the room smelled so bad , i didn't want to put my clothes in it. We traveled 4 hours to come here to go to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for our anniversary. This place is awful! This room cost 221.00 a night. I was at a hotel in Myrtle Beach 2 months ago. It was 180.00 a night, it was 2 rooms and ocean front on the beach. They had maid service and free parking. This place is not worth $100.00 a night. I only gave it one star because i couldn't give it 0.

Kaylin S.

Yelp
I have been staying here for two weeks. The first week I called down with a noise complaint. Every morning at 6:30am I was being woken up by screaming children next door. Instead of asking the family to keep it down and observe quiet hours, they said they could move me to another room. I said no because the family was leaving the 3rd morning. A coworkers car was vandalized in the parking lot that we're paying $18 a night for. Myself and two other coworkers have seen a rodent in our rooms. I say rodent because it moved so quickly that I couldn't tell if it was a mouse or a rat. They offered a room change again...so I packed up and moved. The mattress in my first room was terrible. I thought that maybe another mattress would be nice. It's way too soft. They boast having serta mattresses where you can adjust the firmness. I'm still sinking into the bed. The knob is broken. This morning from 3:30am to around 5am, a group of grown adults were screaming on my floor. I called the front desk with a noise complaint. She said she'd send up security. I don't know if they ever came, but the noise never stopped. So I had to take matters into my own hands and I walked into the hall and screamed "shut the up". So of course now I have (probably drunk) people screaming at me to go back to bed. I was in bed. I woke up because of those idiots. I called down again and said there was still noise. It finally stopped. Don't know if security ever came. All of this could have been avoided if security spoke to them the first time. I have been traveling around the country for work for two years, and I have never been so uncomfortable in my living situation. I haven't slept well in two weeks. I called out of work today for lack of sleep and needing to pack and move to another hotel. I stayed at the Hilton because I wanted the points, but I will be taking my business elsewhere.

Yelp
If you want a good nights sleep go somewhere else. The bed was horrible. I sunk about 8 inches into the bed, and had a hard time getting up and out of it. It had some kind of thick foam topping and the mattress had a blowup center - strangest thing I've ever seen. Barely got four hours of sleep. The air conditioning was either arctic blast or swamp land - could not get the temperature regulated. When taking a shower the water gushed all over the bathroom floor. I talk to the manager about the issues and she didn't seem to care she just shrugged her shoulders. When leaving the hotel in the morning there were a handful of police in the lobby and several police vehicles in front & back of the hotel. We couldn't leave fast enough. By the way they also charge $20 a night for parking. I don't have a problem with charging for parking BUT it should be disclosed at the time of reservation instead of finding out when you check in.

Yelp
Second worst stay ever... At least the chain is consistent for being crappy.. checked into a filthy room , and food and the fridge.. ask for a vacuum figured out might as well do it myself . They brought a vacuum that spit out fur balls and the audacity to bring the exact same vacuum up 20 minutes later after I have returned it and reported it as being unoperable. Trash set at the end of the hallway the entire stay.. the breakfast was not fit for human consumption.. second shift Mike b and his nonchalant attitude hurt our feelings seem like nobody cared... Do you want another room or not because I don't vacuum it's what he said.. and finally after the musty air cleared out from the sour vacuum housekeeping barges in at 8:00 in the morning no knock no warning.. maybe you should look into selling off the garden inns to an actual two-star motel instead of performing like one.

Yelp
This hotel was not 4 stars.. when I checked and went to the restroom there was literally no soap in the main lobby restroom! IN THE MIDDLE OF A PANDEMIC! Make it make sense, please. I told the lady at the front desk and they refilled ONE of the THREE dispensers.. sick. My room: room wasn't too bad. The bed was sub-par at best. Had a king suite and a 32 inch tv lol. That's not important... the BED is the important part. The sheets were too small and the mattress/ mattress pad had like a waterfall drop off.. one half was rock hard and the other half was memory foam. Was not a fan In the restroom, I went to take a shower and the shower was CLOGGED.. I turned the water on and there was standing water. There was no way I was showering or standing in that. DISGUSTING! However, once u raised the concern, they were very quick to handle the issue. My question is, was it not doing that when house keeping came to clean the shower? Or did they not.....? NVM Later in the evening, my neighbor through a party In their room, which we all know the walls are PAPER thin. So all I heard was screaming, music and an aroma and of weed and cigarettes. My Fav that was the final straw for me. No matter what I did, my room and clothes still reeked of bad decisions. Contrary to my terrible experience, the staff was very pleasant and very patient with me. So if you're staying for comfort, I wouldn't. But, if you're staying for hospitality it is the place for you!

Yelp
I had a major surgery scheduled for the hospital nearby and booked for 3 nights (it was going to be for 3 weeks but we wanted to try it out first. My surgery got postponed last minute due to an equipment malfunction. Even after a note from my surgeon saying it was not my fault, they refused to reimburse me. Not great customer service especially when going thru a medical procedure reschedule. We will not be booking for 3 weeks there in the future. Very sad

Yelp
Nice lobby, that's about it. Took about 30 minutes to get a room we booked online in advance. Got a different room than we booked. A/C barely worked. The charge $20 to park. There is also a dog barking on our floor non stop. Do yourself a favor and stay anywhere else.

Laura O.

Yelp
Do not stay here! The room was dirty with crumbs beside the bed and on the nightstands. The AC stopped working at 2am and started blowing out hot air. We attempted to turn it down or completely turn the unit off, but it would not stop blowing out hot air. We called the front desk and they said it would be at least an hour before someone could check on the issue - RIDICULOUS considering it was the middle of the night and the room could not be slept in as the heat was unbearable. They did not offer us another room and we had no option but to leave and expressed this at the lobby counter where we were told a manager could assist with a refund when available. I have been fighting for a refund between the booking company and the hotel for WEEKS and the hotel will not cooperate with the booking site. This is so unacceptable because we did not receive the amenities we paid for - a room with a temperature suitable for a human being to sleep in.

Yelp
I stayed here for 5 nights. First, the good - The staff is almost uniformally wonderful. Seriously great people. The shuttle drivers are amazing - you can take the hotel shuttle anywhere within a 1 mile radius. The location is a bit sketchy. Very close to the ballpark and, technically, downtown - but right off the highway. Rooms are outdated and they have these bizarre air bladder mattresses. My first room's mattress was busted. The second one was ok. Sheets are scratchy. The furniture is "interesting." Restaurant is good - decent food and fantastic service. I'd give employees a 5 star rating easily. But the hotel itself has seen better days.

John H.

Yelp
Staff is fantastic - they do their very best to make your stay the best it can be. Hotel is clean and plenty of parking - but it is $20/night. Restaurants are within walking distance but in the winter the walk can be tough. 3.5 stars.

Yelp
This hotel has provided a consistently LOW level of service-- weird bar space, lame workout facilities and horrible internet "service". The ONLY reason I ever stay here is that I like being downtown (vs the suburbs) and its within corporate policy. On this particular visit, there's (long overdue!) Rehab/updating going on, which is fine-- but why won't hotels tell you that when you book online? Why do have to find out only on check-in? I tried the ice machine on my floor-- not working. Walked down to the next-- not even there. First world problems, I know, but set the appropriate expectations. Never eaten here (praise be to Odin), but that's because I wouldn't trust the quality of the food. There IS a Heinen's a few blocks away, though, which is good.

Yelp
Pretty decent hotel. Pros: Very close to Progressive Field and Quicken Loans arena. Decent looking and decent smelling rooms and bathrooms. I like the neutrogena toiletries. Free wifi. Cons: Dated Ample outdoor self parking but its $18. Fridge was kind of weak in the room. No 24 hr gym. Closes at 11pm. No room safe.

Yelp
I don't know what the heck is going on at or around this Hilton Garden Inn - but the smell outside around the hotel is very unpleasant. A noxious exhaust like fume smell permeates the neighborhood and the hotel. After checking in - I could strongly smell it in my hotel room. This also occurred during my last stay here. It was so bad during my trip this week that I checked out a couple of hours after checking in and found another hotel to stay at several miles away. I really like Hilton Garden Inns - but until this issue goes away, I won't be staying at this hotel again.

Yelp
A nice hotel to travel in. Got my rewards points, clutch. All of the staff is very friendly and it's super easy to park. The beds are adjustable. They let you drink in the pool.

Yelp
Stayed here on Mond/Tuesday night. Starting off it was extremely clean that's why I usually like to go Hilton, I had a king room and it was very very spacious had desk, chair, Keurig machine and bed was super comfy, and Staff was friendly upon checkin.. HOWEVER, I was notified upon arrival that parking was an addition 23$ per night ... for the price I paid for said room.. I expected to be able to park my car in their parking lot. That seems very scammy to me, hell even a days inn for 69$ will a provide parking lot to leave your car with no extra charge... one more thing that suprised me a little bit was a room at the price point I paid also charges for breakfast.. I went downstairs to see what the breakfast was and the lady saw me looking around and she came to the counter and pointed out the prices of breakfast.. starting at 10$ per plate.. and went up to 16 for combo plate. And I do believe they had a bagel or toast that was on the counter and I don't think there was a charge for toast.. I didn't want any stale ass bagels and I'm not about to pay for hotel instant breakfast.. there's a McDonald's close by so wasn't a huge deal I just hopped in my car in the spot I paid for and drove to McDonald's .. all in all, I would probably go with a different brand of hotels in the future. Room quality was okay at the price ONLY IF IT INCLUDES parking and maybe even cereal or something that involved a continental breakfast. But again, very clean and the staff was very polite.

Yelp
Surprise! You're Hilton hotel is across the street from a methadone clinic. If you can get past the morning view of the ex-junkies, it's a decent hotel. It was clean, though maid service forgot about our room. The desk staff was friendly and the breakfast at the Garden Grille was good. It's a great location to stay in if you're in town for a baseball game, but a bit of hike from everything else.

Codie R.

Yelp
The hotel itself is very nice. The rates are reasonable and the staff was friendly though they seemed to really not have a clue about their own systems. When I said I wanted to pay cash, it was like they had no clue what to do and then proceeded to tell me that their computer systems had updated which made it difficult for them... Meanwhile, I paid cash for my room to avoid a bunch of charges to my card. Well they told me I HAD to put a card down for incidentals for $50. After we checked out, I had over $400.00 of charges to my card that they told me would be credited back. Problem is that takes at least a week for the charges to go through and then be credited back to you. I will NEVER give a hotel my card number ever again. Might stay at this hotel again, but if they don't accept my cash, they won't be getting my business.

Yelp
This is one of the worst Hilton's I've ever stayed at. I can't believe this building is allowed to be affiliated with Hilton, as there's no standards followed. Room was disgustingly dirty... When I first arrived, I was not greeted as Hilton Honor member. As soon as I got out of the elevator to my room it smelled like marijuana. When I entered the room I was very disappointed and told myself I'm only here for a couple days but as soon as I checked the bathroom - I had it. It smelled like urine and the room was gross. I called the front desk and they kindly assigned me a new room but again there were very noticeable signs of filth / not cleaned. I'm a loyal Hilton fan... but never again will I stay at this location.

Yelp
Is the Garden Inn supposed to be on a higher or lower "level" compared to a Hampton Inn? Because we moved from staying in the Hampton Inn for a week in the Detroit Area to this Garden Inn and it was gheettttooooo. I mean, compared to some of the hotels down the street... I would have rather stayed at the Raddison! It was helpful in it's close location to the ballpark. It seems like it's a pain to drive to this stadium. Also the parking lot in the back does not look big enough for 11 floors or so of hotel guests. Free shuttle to the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame

Mary S.

Yelp
They offer shuttle service & the driver on NYE was outstanding. The hotel stay was ok but our driver really made it special. Would def book again here.

Yelp
Stayed here on a 2-day flight layover. The front desk staff are all very nice. The room was clean and had a fairly standard layout. Comfortable bed, slept like a rock. Breakfast had the usual items. The wait staff are all very friendly, even early in the morning. Overall, a great place to stay in downtown Cleveland.

Yelp
Stayed last Saturday night after the Cavs game. This is the second time we have stayed here in the last few months and have yet to be impressed (I don't see it happening). You might think this will be a nice hotel due to the nameplate, but make no mistake about it: this is not a typical Hilton Garden Inn. Location is good, but that is the end of the positives. The rooms are laughable. They seriously look like rooms in a local rundown hotel in the hood, not the rooms in a higher level nationally respected chain - see my pics and tell me if you disagree. Our room, 210, faced Carnegie avenue, but was also directly across from some type of detox clinic that had many unsavory looking characters loitering around the building entrance. Our room was also directly above the entrance to the hotel and people were yelling and carrying on throughout a good portion of the night. Bed, tv, bathroom, climate control were all mediocre. Volume from the hallway in the morning was very loud due to the manner in which the doors close / slam (good luck sleeping in). There is an $18 charge to park in the lot the hotel provides and the breakfast is not complimentary. I think complimentary breakfasts stink, but most people seem to enjoy them. I bring up the breakfast and parking thing because these are additional costs that you may have not anticipated. Staff was very friendly (even the cleaning crew), so that is a plus. This hotel may be okay for a night if you are in a pinch and have no other options, but if you do have other options I would recommend spending your money more wisely than I did. Bottom Line: Price was WAY TOO HIGH for what is provided. Total bill for our stay - with parking charge - was $179. Would have been satisfied with the price point if my total bill would have been $99.

Yelp
I wasn't impressed by anything in this hotel and with Hilton on it I expected better. First check out is at 11am check in is at 3pm. We arrived early at 2:25pm and our room wasn't ready and that was fine as the agreed upon time is 3pm. Well it was 3:41 before we got our room key. My guess is if I came down 41 minutes late for check out they would certainly charge me but them being 41 minutes late for check in was no big deal we didn't even get a sorry about your wait. The room was clean not spotless but certainly not dirty. It is dated not very nice. There are no usb plugs so bring your 120v plugs. Our a/c only had two settings meat locker or rainforest and sounded like a engine running it was loud. To spite it being loud, the windows and insulation of the hotel are so poor we could hear people shouting on the street and we were on the 11th (top) floor. Most of the fixtures in the bathroom were loose with missing screws and the bath tub had no slip resistance in it both of us almost fell. There was a browns game that night that was late but instead of the bar and restaurant staying open late enough for people to eat they closed just about the time we and everyone else got back. The only bright spot was the breakfast the hotel served was good and not too expensive. We stayed just two months earlier at the Hilton Cleveland downtown, for a little more money it was a way better experience. Just make sure you watch your charges as Hilton like to charge you for things you might do and not things you have done and they don't pay attention to what you have already paid for and will double charge you for parking and misc. things.

Yelp
This hotel is in a prime location downtown with walking distance to everything. Located right across the street from the baseball stadium. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The only reason for a 3 star rating is the mattress and pillows were subpar. The mattress was very firm and made noises with every turn throughout the night and the pillows were nothing but air. For a personal trip, this is the perfect hotel as it is easy to overlook the bed and the location is unbeatable. For a business trip, the bed and good sleep are far too important to over look.

Yelp
Aside from the fact that I paid 160 dollars for a bed to sleep in and every single thing, including parking was more and more fees. Most hotels I stay in, if I requested something they will make it available to me, free of charge, within reason. Like a toothbrush or q-tips for example. Here they have a small shop you can buy all of those things at. Breakfast is also not free, even if you want cereal you pay for a small prepackaged bowl of it. In addition to these things we are staying here for only one night after an overnight flight with 2 kids. Our family had not slept for about 30 hours. My husband and I put our kids to bed and fell asleep almost instantly. My 3 year old opened the fridge while we were asleep and there were two opened and used bottles of water, that he helped himself to. I'm honestly just glad it was only water. I also noticed a musty smell in the bathroom and later called the front desk to see if the bathroom should have a functioning fan. The desk said the fan turned on with the light, and I let her know our fan was not functioning. I explained I'm sharing the room with my husband and our two boys and we really needed a working fan. They sent a maintenance person up with a bottle of fabreeze fabric softener for me to spray. The hotel is noisy, you can hear word for word conversations people are having. It's right next the the freeway and I can hear the noise from the traffic very clearly. Although the staff was very friendly I don't think I will stay with Hilton again and I would not recommend this hotel. There are so many options in the city, I'm sure it would be easy to find a better place to stay.
