We stayed at this hotel in November 2024 and found it to be excellent value for money in this area, especially considering its location. Yes, the property shows its age in places and isn’t trying to be a luxury resort, but if you arrive with realistic expectations (it’s a solid 3-star experience at a very fair price), you’ll be pleasantly surprised by how comfortable and convenient it is. Location The hotel is just a short walk from a public beach with easy lagoon access — perfect for swimming, strolling, or simply relaxing. Coconut Market Plaza, with its wide variety of shops, restaurants, and evening activities, is about 12 minutes on foot or a quick 3-minute drive. Getting to either side of the island is also straightforward from here. The hotel itself The lobby is welcoming and well-maintained. Rooms are a bit hit-or-miss — ours had a noisy air-conditioner and a couple of minor maintenance issues — but the staff were friendly and resolved everything promptly once we mentioned it. We were especially grateful for the hassle-free early check-in after a long travel day. The 24/7 snack bar came in handy more than once! Overall, this place delivers exactly what we needed: a clean, comfortable base in a good spot without breaking the bank. We’re already booked to return in the middle of this December and looking forward to another stay. I’ll update the review after our next visit!

Review for the cottage|We were greeted by friendly staff at the front staff. Check in was a breeze and we were given a map of the grounds. Our room was clean and cool. It was a nice surprise to see a welcome message on the TVs. We brought our own k-cups for coffee but a medium roast is available at the cottage. The bed was very comfortable and the sheets were very soft. The bathrooms had a local favorite “Noni” lotion, soap, body wash, shampoo and conditioner. The shower had hot water on demand and the pressure was great, not something you find in a lot of hotels. The AC in the room was a bit noisy however we treated it as white noise machine and we had no problems sleeping with it on. |The grounds and pools were well maintained. From the cottages the beach is a quick 5 minute walk across the grass. The protected cove offers a good place to swim, snorkel and see the sunrise. |The path to the tiki bar is lit at night by torches. Do yourself a favor and go to Manahunes tiki bar and enjoy a Mai Tai, I recommend the Trader Macs. The food is great too, we had the coconut shrimp and the double double burger. I read reviews that complained about the prices but I thought they were on par with some of the other local places. Overall I would recommend this place. It is close to airport and downtown Kapaa.

Hotel is average at best. A bit dated with few amenities. The bedding and linens were not the standard I would expect to see in a Hilton. The rooms were clean and the provided soap and lotion were nice. Having both a fridge and a microwave was a nice surprise. I had an ocean front room on the second floor which provided a nice sunrise each morning (I stayed three nights). The koi pond / river was sad to look at. The hotel is currently being renovated, so I can imagine it will have a new fresh look in some time. The hotel is beach facing, but not directly on the beach. My favorite part was my 6.30/7a swims each morning. The closed in lagoon had plenty of tropical fish to swim with! If you’re looking for basic basic, with beach access this is a good choice. Nothing fancy, but you get what you pay for.

Extremely Disappointing Diamond Experience – Hidden Fees & Poor Service As a Hilton Diamond member, I have stayed at properties all over the world, and I can sadly say this was my worst Hilton experience to date. Hidden Fees & Dishonesty: My booking confirmation explicitly included a $25 daily resort charge, which was supposed to cover resort activities and amenities. There was absolutely no mention of a parking fee during the booking process. However, upon arrival, I was hit with an additional $25 parking fee per day. It felt like a bait-and-switch. Lack of Coordination & Competence: The hotel staff and reservation system are completely out of sync. There were multiple billing mistakes on my folio that required correction. Furthermore, the front desk seemed unfamiliar with the system, making check-in a chore. Even as a Diamond member, they couldn't confirm a late check-out until the actual morning of departure, which defeats the purpose of the benefit. Poor Value: The rooms are dated and old. Given the high price point and the added hidden fees, the value just isn't there. You are much better off finding an Airbnb in the area for a better price and more modern accommodations Indifferent Service: The most disappointing part was the attitude of the staff. The front desk team was cold and indifferent. It felt like the hotel's priority was squeezing every last dollar out of a guest rather than ensuring a loyal customer had a great stay. Save your money and your Diamond status for a property that actually values its guests.

On the evening of December 27th at around 8:40 pm, I went to the hotel front desk to buy two cup noodles because I was hungry. Since the cup noodles did not indicate that they were microwave-safe, I asked the first front desk staff member (the one without dark hair) whether there was any hot water available so I could prepare them. I was told there was no hot water, so I returned to my room to figure out another solution. I then went back to the front desk to ask whether I could borrow a glass or ceramic cup so I could heat water in the microwave safely. The second front desk staff member (with black hair) told me they only had plastic cups — and then handed me a paper cup that clearly had a symbol printed on it indicating it must NOT be placed in a microwave (photo attached). When I pointed out the symbol to her, she looked at it and still insisted that it was “fine” and that I could microwave it. This is not only unprofessional, but also unsafe and potentially dangerous. My friend later called the front desk to question this, and we received the same dismissive response — “there’s nothing we can do.” No apology, no alternative solution, not even basic concern. This raises a serious question: why does the hotel sell cup noodles when there is no safe way provided to prepare them, and when staff clearly do not understand basic safety instructions printed on the items they hand to guests? The next day, I eventually discovered on my own that the coffee machine could dispense hot water — something the staff never mentioned at all. Instead, they encouraged me to microwave a cup that explicitly said DO NOT MICROWAVE, which could have resulted in a burn or fire hazard. This experience was extremely frustrating, unprofessional, and disappointing. I hope the hotel will properly train its staff on guest safety, basic hospitality, and how to provide correct information instead of careless and misleading answers.

Save yourself the frustration and stay elsewhere I had high hopes for our Kauai getaway, but this hotel made it unnecessarily stressful. We found cockroaches in our room, which is completely unacceptable. Housekeeping was a constant battle—we had to call at least three times just to get basic room cleaning done. The hot tub wasn’t working during our stay. The parking gates were left open the entire time, yet we were still charged parking fees. What frustrated me most was the complete lack of response from management. They send automated SMS messages asking about your satisfaction, so I replied with detailed feedback about these issues. No one ever followed up or acknowledged my concerns. It’s clear those surveys go straight into the trash. If you’re looking for a peaceful Hawaiian vacation, look elsewhere. This property doesn’t deliver on basic hospitality standards, and management doesn’t seem to care.

WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE! TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! On our honeymoon, we extended our stay and greatly regret it. They use third party booking companies and then don't honor the reservation. The front desk agents are incredibly rude and lack any level of compassion. The customer service line is equally as frustrating. We have 5 additional days at this location and I regret booking with them. BEWARE! NOT WORTH IT! Stay away from Hilton! Especially Hilton Garden Inn Kauai!

This hotel has serious cleanliness issues, broken locks, and front desk staff who don’t understand basic billing or Hilton Honors rules. Avoid this property unless you enjoy roaches, billing errors, and arguing to not be overcharged. I never heard back from corporate after submitting a formal complaint, so I’m leaving this review. This hotel was a complete failure from start to finish. I booked a full points stay and confirmed at check in that there should be no resort fee. At checkout, I was told I owed over $200 which seemed high. When I asked for an itemized bill, there it was, an incorrectly charged resort fee. The front desk agent argued with me, falsely claimed I didn’t pay fully with points, and said I “should have told them at check in,” even though I did and shouldn’t have to tell them anyways. Instead of fixing it immediately, I had to go back and forth over something basic. It honestly made me wonder how many guests they quietly overcharge. It got worse. She had already charged my credit card before showing me the bill. When trying to fix it, she clearly didn’t know how to use the system and kept saying it was new. I asked multiple times to split the charges between two cards. She charged the same card twice anyway, quite frustrating. The room itself was unacceptable. Every morning there were roaches in the bathroom, and on my last day there were roaches in the bedroom. I spent hours inspecting and repacking my belongings so I wouldn’t bring roaches home. That completely ruined my last day of vacation. To top it off, the door lock stopped working. Maintenance couldn’t fix it, and I felt stuck in my room because I wasn’t confident I’d be able to get back in if I left.

Yelp
staying here for my first time in kauai was a dream. the lobby was absolutely stunning & smelled so good, i love how open & spacious it was & it really set the tone to my stay here. staff was very professional & accommodating & i had no issues whatsoever with requests. i enjoy the location of this hotel as well because it is literally on the beach in the back! i spent a lot of time snorkeling & lounging in the back park/beach area. I'm already anticipating my next trip back & will book with hilton again!

Yelp
We were in Kauai for our wedding and were looking for a nice but reasonably priced place to stay. Unfortunately, we wish we had chosen somewhere else, as our experience was a bit disappointing. Starting with the positives: the location was great, the beach was very close, and the tiki bar was a highlight. The bartenders there were extremely friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately, there were several downsides. Parking: Parking was frustrating. It cost $25 per night, spaces were hard to find, and although there is a "backup" lot, it's a long walk from the rooms. Rooms: The ant problem was overwhelming. We couldn't escape them--on the bed, counters, and even our phones. At one point, I got out of bed and realized I had been lying next to 10-15 ants. In addition to that, there were beetles (possibly cockroaches) in the shower, on the curtains, and on the floor. Staff: The check-in experience wasn't great. When we asked questions, the staff seemed short and somewhat rude. Overall, the most irritating issues were the parking fee and the ant problem. After already paying to stay here, being charged extra for parking felt like a total rip-off. Between that and the pests, this stay did not meet our expectations.

Yelp
Disappointed in this hotel! Hilton garden inn Kauai needs lots of work, with staff, updates on their units and food pricing, l will never stay here again! My unit was not ready when arrived at 4pm. The units are cleaned every other day, room has mildew odor, air-conditioning makes a LOUD buzzing sound everytime it goes on, till it turns off. Door dosent shut properly as well, interior doors were cracked. their rooms are way over price for the condition they are in! Without even a view of ocean. Food is over priced as well, we had 2 eggs, sausage and croissant for 46$?! Outrageous! The sausage was literally 3 little slices?! And a piece of bread, practically nothing for my money, Unreal! Why bring anything to us? I could have just given my money to them, if thats what they wanted! Then by surprise you have to pay for parking! 25$ a day too! swimming pool was hazy and looked dirty. Staff has a language barrier and dont understand you clearly, on top of all this, while we were out of the hotel for the day, they were placing new TVs in all the rooms and left our room door ajar after adding the new TVs, all day long and after talking to the staff about this, didn't seem to understand my concern? looks like no one stole anything from my room! This hotel and staff really need to take better responsibility! Not pleased at all!

Yelp
Just wrapped a 5 day stay here and man they couldn't have s&@t the bed worse in the 9th inning. We stayed in the small cottages, which was an up-charge. The grounds and cleanliness were impeccable, but the cabins were lacking. Certainly were a "met expectation" in terms of the upfront price. They were frequented by spiders (pictured) and the place got ROWDY on Friday night. They are temp controlled by two window units which run constantly. There are roving homeless people and you for sure do not feel like you, your vehicle or possessions are safe. This is not helped AT ALL by the signs in the cottage about locking doors at night. The front desk staff was awful. If anyone in management is reading this, the whole front desk staff needs to be wiped clean. They are the reason for the negative post. While many things were odd or not the best, such as a band aid in the pool, the mold stains on the ceiling or the spiders in the room, the front desk staff acted like they were disciplinarians at a sub-par daycare. If you don't like your job? Find one you like, but don't take it out on the people who patronize your employer. Thanks for the $500 vaping charge. My wife soundly would not have ever hit her vape inside if she felt safe being outside the cottage at night. She genuinely hit it one time after we talked it over and we immediately got called by the front desk AT 10:45 PM to inform us that we had triggered their alarm and would be charged $500. Sure wish they were as on-the-spot with the beach towels, the bottled water in the room that only sometimes got replenished or the WiFi that did not work for the first three days of our stay. There was no breakfast buffet as advertised but the food at the lobby dining is very good and I felt that fact got no press. Burrito for breakfast is excellent. Also, Pizza at the main bar is very good. There are an additional $50 a day in hidden fees, so please factor that in to your decision to book. Had we known that ahead of time we would have gone elsewhere. I strongly encourage you to consider staying elsewhere.

Yelp
The rooms had roaches, a mildew smell, customer service was not very good. Personally felt really unwelcomed. The garden was very nice, loved the proximity to the beach. As long as we were outside of the hotel facility we were fine.

Yelp
Lovely and right on the beach next to Lydgate Beach. Some rooms are remodeled others are in the process; the reception area is very Aloha with plenty comfy couches and armchairs, and several chairs and round tables for chilling and having a look around. It definitely could do with improvements as some fixtures are on the older side. My understanding is that Hilton purchased the building and started renovating but hasn't completed everything yet. I enjoyed sitting in the open reception and the Koi are so fun: soon as you stop at the railing on the bridge from the rooms to the entrance they all come speeding up with their mouths open ! They are fed twice daily but I asked the nice man there if I could have just a bit of food for the fish and he was happy to give me a small cup of feed. Yay! Any interaction with animals/ fish/ birds makes my day :) The breakfast area is part of the overall open area concept: there are various sizes tables and three progressively higher high tops, for about 8-10 people each. Evelyn was our server the first breakfast there, and took good care of us while dining . The staff is wonderfully friendly : I met Kiana at the activities desk, and she marked a map to show me where we can drive or have to park and walk: the waterfalls, beaches and interesting sites along the main road. I stayed on the South East coast and the island is small enough to do a semi- round trip of it, but be aware that you can't go all the way around: on the Na Pali coast (North side) you'll need to turn around and go the opposite way to get to the north side via the west road. The Kihuio highway is the main thoroughfare and gets super busy: but hey, it's Hawaiian time ...roll with it ;). The room had a small lanai perched near one of the pools, so it was fun to walk out the room and jump down to the pool deck. Sadly the last few days it got blocked by loungers and a table, I mean ..really bad move by the hotel, we had people sitting less than 2' in front of us. That and a couple hit and miss housekeeping things, like no K-cups or paper cups for coffee, or no spare toilet paper roll, went down a star. But the housekeeping staff were all always very nice and friendly :) The carbon monoxide alarm went off twice in the middle of different nights: the second time the night duty reception was called to alert them to it; the person answering didn't understand and said that "we can get a wake up call if the alarm wasn't working" Also, per fire code, the red fire alarm has to have a blinking light to alert deaf people. There wasn't one on the red alarm, so made me wonder if it even was connected.. Lost another star for safety and no action on checking the carbon monoxide alarm immediately. The person answering the call said a handyman was on the way: nobody showed up then or in the morning! Overall the stay was enjoyable and once these glitches in their system are dealt with it will be a much better experience, but it's still a good place to stay. Thank you to all at *Mamahune's for the excellent service and food ! * see my review on Yelp!

Yelp
For being near the ocean, this hotel is well maintained and has great views of the surf and and relaxing palm trees. I used my Hilton Honor points for this stay, and was glad to say, it was a good deal for an oceanfront location and much less than the resorts that are over 100,000 points for stays. If you're on a budget, I would recommend the Hilton Garden Inn, as it's centrally located, well accomodated, and has both a refrigerator and microwave for those leftovers from the night before...

Yelp
I stayed here 2 weekends in a row. The first weekend we stayed in Room 1222. Access to the pool was great. On our second night, at approximately 8:00 PM, our kids were joined in the jacuzzi by an individual who appeared to be homeless and had entered the property with a bicycle. He was acting a bit erratic and scared the kids. I promptly notified a staff member at Mamahune's, who informed me that hotel security would not be on-site until 10:00 PM. Fortunately, the staff member took it upon himself to ask the individual to leave, and the situation was resolved without incident. Additionally, I was surprised to find that the Hawaii Republican Party was hosting an event at the hotel that same weekend. It would have been helpful to be informed of this in advance, as our group felt unexpectedly surrounded by political messaging--most notably, "MAGA" spelled out in garden rocks on the lawn near the pool. This detracted from the overall environment we expected. There were also several issues with our accommodations: The lock on our first-floor sliding door facing the pool was broken, which posed a safety concern. The bathroom door handle was not securely attached to the door. The front door to the room slammed loudly if not manually closed, disrupting our group and others nearby. For my second weekend we stayed in the cottages - Room 3121. Outside is dated but inside is updated. A piece of the roof fell off during our stay. In the evening there was a very large party with a DJ on the beach behind the cottages and the music / bass vibrated through our cottage. I tried to live with. I called the front desk to ask what the County public noise laws were and the person that answered the phone rushed me off the phone and told me "it's not our jurisdiction" and hung up on me. At a minimum be sympathetic to your guests who spent $370/ night expecting a restful night on your property. For info. purposes - Noise Law for Kaua'i County is 10pm - reasonable. However, if I wanted to be bombarded by noise til 10pm I could have just staycationed on Oahu. "You get your own parking stall" in front of your cottage if you book a cottage, but still need to pay the $25 to park and the GET, Room Transient Acc Tax, and Kaua'i Transient Acc Tax. Approx $30/day. Overall the proximity of this property to the public park/ beach will be its downfall. The homeless are able to easily access the property and the "resort" vibe is cancelled by the noise pollution of literally hundreds of people that use the park/ beach adjacent to the property. 2 stars instead of 1 because the bartender got the homeless man out of the jacuzzi swiftly and the pool was clean.

Yelp
We've stayed here twice and both times had a pleasant experience. Pros: room is clean, the community areas are clean, the AC works well, the housekeeping staff is friendly, most of the front desk staff is helpful, the passes you get for free to rent a bicycle is on a really nice path in Kapaa, lydgate park is just a few steps away, they have a fun hula show at random times Cons: they do not have a fire show as advertised, mama hunes restaurant has awful food, their justification for their resort fee is a joke, the do not offer beach mats, their coolers are dirty and only fit 3 regular size sodas, you have to pay for parking, parking can be full at times but there is overflow parking, and the schedule they give you for the events on property is not correct. All in all good location and great price so we will continue to stay here but there are some simple things to they could do to improve to 5 stars in my book. Adara at the concierge desk deserves 10 stars! She was so helpful and gave us some amazing recommendations to do in Kapaa. We really appreciated her input and even ended up with the cutest sand globe souvenir because of her recommendations. Thanks Adara!!

Yelp
This hotel should not carry the Hilton name. I trusted the brand and didn't read the reviews beforehand--something I now regret. We were locked out of our room because the key-card reader battery died. After waiting more than 30 minutes for someone to let us in, no one actually fixed the issue. Over 12 hours later, when we returned from our day out, we were still locked out. We were also incorrectly charged the resort fee a second time, even though it had already been paid. When I questioned it, staff claimed the charge was for parking--also already paid. The website clearly states the resort fee includes two bottles of water per day, but the front desk insisted it was per stay. This turned into a daily argument. The final straw was the cockroaches in our room. Several other guests reported the same problem. While we were checking out--an exhausting process that took at least 30 minutes due to all the billing discrepancies--three separate parties also complained about cockroaches, and one mentioned the same key-card battery issue. What should have been a relaxing vacation became unnecessarily stressful. We even checked out early, worried that we might unknowingly bring cockroaches with us to our next hotel or even home. I'm planning a trip in February, but for the first time, I'm unsure whether I should book a Hilton. Before this stay, I never questioned the brand. Now, I'm no longer confident that a Hilton property will meet the standards I once trusted.

Yelp
I check in and try to connect to wifi. All kinds of technicas problem. It took me an hour and they wanted me the call the help desk. Someone at Marriott thinks it's a good idea to start somrones vacation in Hawaii with technical problems and sitting on the phone to the help desk.

Yelp
Service. Food. Front Desk Service providers are cold and if you have an issue, move to outright rude. Food. Just don't eat there, The cost is redunkulessly pricey and not of the quality that, even at a lower price, would be considered tasty. Don't do pizza night. The AC blows great but right on your head, and does not dehumidify. Every thing is damp. The saving grace. A great shower and nice towels. Not a Hilton experience.

Yelp
This Hilton Garden is not quite Hilton Garden and not quite a resort. However, it is very old and dated. There are two small pools and you can walk to the beach. I had an "ocean view" but there are no balconies. Here you need to be wary of fees like the junk resort fee, and parking fee which add up. Staff were generally pleasant which helped. Overall, I think there are better options on the island.

Yelp
Thank you Cina & the amazing staff for taking good care of us as we were displaced during the recent Tsunami warning. We never made it to our resort in Hanalei. We will never forget you Cina!

Yelp
Ambiance: 4.5 Mics Service: 5 Mics Ambiance: This place has been renovated slightly since 2015. It was also bought by Hilton since then. They are remodeling as they can, when they can. I admit working under Starwood in the past, I can be a little hotel snob. Here's why I like this spot. It's outdoor, mostly. Now this can be good and bad. The rooms are large but still need some renovating. The first room we were in smelled of mold and mildew. My wife went up and requested another room. The front desk agent kindly allowed my wife to look at another room, which was suffice and slightly better. I'll be honest, I'm not too worried about the room and views but I do like to sleep in a clean smelling room. The bathrooms were nice and updated. They were clean but did not have a tub. I was okay with that but to each his own. The hotel is a short walk to a beautiful beach with two lagoons. A calm, shallow lagoon for the keiki's (small kids) and a larger deeper one right next to it. Definitely wish we spent more time here but we also liked exploring our favorite place, Kauai. The restaurant and bar, we frequented every morning for breakfast. Solid, legit and much aloha. Everything I tried, every morning was delicious and gave me a taste of the islands from Açaí bowls to omelettes, loco mocos and breakfast burritos. The pork hash breakfast was sooo good, don't sleep. Service: I'll give Hilton Garden Inn staff 5 mics. A lot of Aloha but definitely times they were short handed. I will give a zero to management who poorly handled staffing. One person at the desk at 3pm checkin time, unacceptable. Two people working the restaurant in New Year's Day, unacceptable. The Front desk attendant was answering all the calls, putting in reservations coming in online, handling housekeeping and doing all the tasks. So cheers to the everyone at breakfast I cam across and helped us. Cheers to the front desk. I definitely would return here. Centrally located and lots of Aloha.

Yelp
This place is tired and dirty. The staff is nice and friendly, but the accommodations are pretty gross. It feels third world. Not what I would expect for Hawaii. They need to spend some money to clean it up.

Yelp
AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! -RUDEST front desk experience EVER -LIED to about "free" breakfast advertising, its actually $32!! -LIED about having fire dance/hula, they do not exist there anymore but still advertise them!! -Views were non-existent from a lot of rooms -Pool is a tripping hazard at night, barely any lighting! -Overall this hotel looks very promising and fails on almost all levels. the room was decent and clean but other than that the overall experience is FAR from the Aloha vibe and does not feel like you are on vacation at all when you arrive. STRESSFUL immediately upon checkin so get ready for that... I WILL NEVER BE BACK AGAIN.

Yelp
What's up Yelpies!!! If you're looking for a great place to stay that is walking distance to the beach and fairly quiet then you can count on this place. There are going to be additional cost to staying here as there always is at vacation destinations. The staff kept the room clean and the concierge attendant was very knowledgeable. The location is a bit dated but heck you're in Hawaii so slow down brah and go on a Kahlúa rum tour and relax.

Yelp
We stayed at one of the ocean view cottages. I liked the space and the semi private lanai. We had a decent view but mostly of the park playground. When we booked the hotel we specified it was for four guests. When we arrived to the cottage, we were only given three towels and one coffee cup. We were also given four key cards, one of which did not work. We did not know this until we took this particular card with us and tried to get back into our room and we were locked out. They did send maintenance out pretty quickly to let us in. In the middle of our stay, we were sent a text message that they reprogrammed the gate and that we would need to take all of our cards to the front desk to be reprogrammed. This was an inconvenience, but we took care of it. However, many other guests did not take care of it, which left us behind a long line of cars who were stuck at the gate, unable to get in or out. They also gave us a hard time when asking for pool towels that we never received at check in. The pool is the size of my pool at home, nothing spectacular. The pool bar was decent and the musical entertainment at happy hour was good. Overall they get 3 stars, I expected more from the Hilton.

Yelp
4.5 STARS!? I last stayed here 11 years ago when it was called the Aston Hotel, was $80/night, and in desperate need of updating! Despite other Yelpers' more recent complaints, I think Hilton has done good job overall updating the property. We got a Costco deal for $3700 with round trip airfare, convertible car rental, and this hotel for 7 nights, with a $40/day food credit...I guestimate about $300/night? PROS: -Great customer service from all the staff -Clean, modern, comfortable rooms...ground floor rooms have little non private patios which are great for drying swimwear. -Microwave, Fridge, Coffee Maker, and big LCD TV -Walking distance to Lydgate beach park...nice snorkeling! Folks whom complain that its too far are either lost, or in poor physical shape. -Free Coffee in the lobby in the mornings, free fruit juice in the afternoons. -Free water bottles. Water filtration machines. -Pools and a jacuzzi that could be hotter and use more functional jets. -Central location on Kauai, great if you're visiting both the north and south. CONS: -Air Conditioning unit was rather loud. -$25/day for self-parking...it was free 11 years ago. -Besides Lydgate, nothing else in walking distance. -Breakfast entrees are expensive! Luckily we had that $40/day food credit, and outside restaurants actually aren't much cheaper. -Mamanhune's Bar closes rather early at 10am. Expensive drinks, but standard for Hawaii, and you can always BYOB. Despite the Cons and high costs, I'd likely stay here again on my next Kauai visit, not sure if that will be another 11 years or not. The competition is even more expensive and probably have similar Cons.

Yelp
Terrible moldy and sewage smelly hotel. Fist we were roomed in one side of the hotel. Early was fine. Buy By night. It smelled like sewage. I spoke to a worker who said. Yes. It's next to to sewage plant. But outside was fine. Just inside was horrible. So I'm not sure if it's just what they tell guests. Next room. Smelled like old mold. But at least not sewage. I'm never staying here again. This is what happens when you build a hotel on a Sacred Hawaiian site. The spirits aren't going to allow it to work.

Yelp
If you don't mind staying with termites, cockroaches and bugs...we had a horrible experience staying this at place. Good luck!

Yelp
Me and my girlfriend stayed here on a work trip and loved it! The pool is amazing with phenomenal ocean views. We had a slight snafu with our room and the gentleman at the front desk who tends to the coi pond, and beach towels for guest helped us get it handled right away, two thumbs up to his hospitable and helpful nature.

Yelp
This is our third stay here. Based on that you would think we love it here . We did. Not sure what's happened since the last time we were here . We are on the fifth day of a seven day stay. Two of the days the room was not even serviced which isn't too big of a deal, I can make my own bed and straighten my bathroom, but they charge a $25 a day resort fee which should at least get you a daily cleaning. I inquired two and half hours ago if they no longer clean the rooms daily, but no response. They don't tell you of the need to or how to empty the humidifier in your room. In our previous stays this was not an issue. We finally figured that out by day three and now that we are emptying it the room doesn't smell like mildew. Luckily we asked one of the employees to come in and smell the room after the smell had given me an asthma attack and he emptied the humidifier and the smell went away after a few hours. The smell returned the next day and we were told they'd clean it. Now that we've figured out we need to empty it ourselves that seems to have solved the smell issue. Luckily you still can't go wrong with the location of this hotel which is great and the ukulele lesson was super fun. Don't count on the two hours of bike rides that is supposedly included with the resort fee. When we went to redeem that we were told it was no longer offered even though it was on the list of activities included we had just received from the front desk ! The hot tub was closed when we went to use that but the pools were open, the views are great and the staff is friendly. Just don't expect to get everything they promise in the brochure .

Yelp
Location is great for convenient access to airport, major shopping (Walmart, target, etc). Also a quick drive to other shopping opportunities and restaurants. Location is great if looking for convenience. Hotel itself is undergoing some major renovations! Seems like money is being well spent on capital projects; none of which interrupted or effected our stay. There is still work to be done but overall the facilities and property are being revitalized and were clean and attractive during our stay. My husband and I loved this location for its convenience to the state park & beach a short walk away. We could grab coffee from the lobby in the mornings and walk the beach. This was the highlight of this hotel for us! Room was recently renovated and clean. All staff we encountered were pleasant and friendly to chat with, even if just in passing. We took advantage of a free yoga class the hotel offered. It was not the best yoga class either of us had ever taken but wasn't terrible either. We enjoyed the opportunity and the stretch! They had their tiki bar shut down and outdoor activities either moved or canceled due to inclement weather during the majority of our stay. We did not dine in at the hotel for breakfast or dinner so I cannot speak to the quality of the food. We did have a cocktail one evening at the bar and service was sub par, minimal items available due to being moved inside. Overall we really enjoyed this hotel for its accessibility to the beach and less expensive grocery shopping. We would stay here again!

Yelp
Room was very spacious and somewhat clean, definitely not the cleanest and not the dirtiest but somewhere in between. Service was fast and friendly, the property is nice, sits in an area near Lydgate Beach. They have two buildings and an area with cottages, I stayed in the Pikake wing. Not my first choice of hotels on the island, but for the price it was decent.

Yelp
This was our second time staying at this hotel. The first time was amazing, this time was HORRIBLE!!!! Cockroaches all over the room and ended up in our stuff! The staff didn't even try and make it right! The staff in the dining room were unfriendly and couldn't care less about guests. We waited 10 min for a table, then sat there for 15 min and no one ever came by to take our order or as if we wanted drinks, so we walked out! For the price we paid to stay there, I would've been better off sleeping in a car or on the beach! Go spend your money somewhere else and stay far away from this place!!!!!

Yelp
Guest Services/ Management, particularly Bart! We arrived early, about 10am. Knowing check in time was 3pm, we decided to get registered/check in and come back around 2:30pm to get our room key. We were greeted by BART, who kept calling me "bro" and were told we would have to wait.. so we took a seat in the lobby and watched the new arrivals get checked in and receive their keys, again and again as we waited and waited.. finally around 4:30, I again asked for our keys, BART said room not ready, "bro" I will call you. Mind you, our booking was made in June and was a wedding gift from my sister, we were here for our honeymoon (mid August). Finally, my sister had to call the hotel to find out what the problem was, she spoke to Bart who then gave us our keys, with a smirk on his face, just before 5pm. We were booked for a week but left after day 2 and went to the Sheraton Coconut Beach Resort, such a beautiful welcoming place, for the rest of our trip. The other staff at Hilton were great and showed much Aloha, but this guy Bart, in one word ASSHOLE

Yelp
I was definitely nervous before staying here reading the reviews, but in my opinion they aren't fair. The rooms are great, the pool and beach are quiet and lovely for reading your kindle or taking a swim, and the location couldn't be better, you're just a short drive from the north or south shore and get to enjoy all the east coast of the island has to offer. Would be nice if rooms were cleaned more than every other day, but they'll bring you towels and tbh this is no big thing. We definitely would stay again!

Yelp
We stayed for 3 nites and it was a convenient location since our family reunion luncheon was held in the Kuhio Ballroom. Although the committee decided on the menu called Manini, we had 2 entrees fish and beef and 1 dessert of apple cobbler it was satisfying for lunch. The families with young kiddies enjoyed the swimming pool right afterwards. Loungers were already occupied or draped with their blue and white striped pool towels. The ocean view from our room was excellent but the room had issues. When we checked in our room hadn't been assigned and we were placed in a room with an orange blower on full blast. We should not have been placed in a room that was not fully in top condition. At $400+ a night which included a $100 resort fee per day it was not the best placement. In his socked feet hubs exclaimed on the next morning why is it wet. Although we even opened the window to help get fresh air into the room it remained wet throughout our stay. I know that requests are not guaranteed but I had requested a quiet room if possible but ours was above the pool so noise generated by customers and the live music was far from quiet. Once the sun goes down, the wind starts whistling and since our room was at the top of the staircase all through the night the wind turned into a mini banshee in training. That coupled with the wet smell emitted on the side of my bed plus extraordinarily loud AC fan took its toll on uninterrupted sleep for all 3 nights. For some odd reason the room toilet was extremely low with no guard rail and at a strange angle with a childlike height. Oh my, scared me every time I had to use it. Perhaps another room would have upped the star rating but this room was sad to say partially disappointing. Two employees stood out. The room cleaner on 7/16 was so hospitable and friendly with smiles, good greeting and wishing us a good day and several Thankyous when we left the room and when we returned in the afternoon. As we checked out the roaming security asked hubs if he needed help loading our 4 suitcases but hubs had it under control. It showed so much aloha of that guard to ask. I liked that the tub height was easy to get in and out of. The bed height gave easy access too so I didn't need to tip toe to get on. I liked that between the 2 queen beds there were enough slots for us to charge 2 cell phones and a new sleep gadget prescribed for hubs. Unlike stays at this brand hotel in Oregon and Washington state, breakfast is no longer complimentary except for Diamond members. Luckily Pono was in close driving distance for good coffee and pastry. We drove to dinner all 3 evenings. Lilikoi was good, Sushi Bushido was enjoyable and another restaurant is now off the radar. Have a good day and hopefully Calvin is downgraded to a tropical storm and will not visit the Garden Isle. But

Yelp
I was nervous cause of the reviews I read. We live on Kauai and never stayed here . We only came cause my partner had won a couple nights stay here and we brought our dog to get away from July 4th fireworks. It was great and hotel room is clean and nice pools . No complaints. No mice or cockroaches like I've seen in other reviews. But I also don't leave garbage and I cover shower drain just in case. All was good until some a holes lot some fireworks at the beach park. But still not as bad as at home in Lihue.

Yelp
The hotel smells like sewage. It's disgusting, the employees just chalk it up to when the wind blows. Well it's blowing all the time Rooms are dated and no glasses just paper cups. The two pools have 22 lounge chairs for over 200 rooms. The lounge chairs are in bad shape and look like they will break. The pools look like they haven't been cleaned at all... tiles are gross around large pool.

Yelp
I have stayed at a bunch of different Hilton Properties both on 'Oahu, Big Island, and Maui, and this was hands-down the worst property we have stayed at. The only reason why I have this property 2 stars is because the front staff was friendly, welcoming, and helpful. There are 2 floors at the hotel. We were on the second floor in the corner. The rooms were outdated and looked run down. Our "oceanview" room was a view of a bridge that they were doing construction on. The gold trimming between the carpet and the tiles was coming apart and my daughter tripped over it when she got up to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night. Thankfully she didn't get hurt. The door was so hard to open. When you turned the handle to open the door, it would lock the door and you had to continuously turn the handle to unlock it and open the door. There was no way that myself or the kids could open the door, only my husband. This was such a big hazard and could've been bad if there was every an emergency!!! When I brought these two issues up to the hotel staff all I got was an "Okay, thank you for bringing this to our attention." Glad nothing happened during our stay as it could have ended very badly!!! The elevator was probably the smallest elevator I've ever been in. My husband had to duck down when getting into it, and we had to take 2 trips because out suitcases didn't fit. The resort fee was such a joke. The website advertises that you get "2 free water bottles a day" but we were told at check-in that it was only 2 for the whole stay. They also advertise that they have a cultural Sunrise Ceremony, Hula Lessons, and Lei Making classes, but it's all first-come, first-served. When we inquired we were told that one class was full, and two of the classes were cancelled. Oh, and on top of the $25/night resort fee you have to pay $25/night for parking. In an open lot. And if that fills up then you have to park in the overflow lot which is a hike to your room if you're on the opposite side of the parking. There was free laundry which was a perk! But every time we went there was a long line of people. I really liked how there were filtered water stations throughout the hotel. They have daily fish feeding at 6 pm. This is something that my kids really looked forward to. The first night we went the gentleman was so nice and interacted with the kids and made it such a magical experience. The second night we went there weren't any more cups that were filled, so we asked the staff and we must've interrupted their funny Instagram videos they were watching because they game us the dirtiest look when we asked them for more. There's 2 different pools you can swim in and they're decent. The lounge chairs are run down. There's a fire pit area with lounge chairs that have pillows that are stained and missing a few pillows. The area is just very un-kept. Lastly, their food options could be better. The food at Mamahune's (which is by the pool) is SO DELICIOUS! Only downside is we had to wait almost an hour for our food, and they close so early! The Hilton website and Google both advertise that they're open until 10 pm, but they stop serving food at 7 pm. At that point your only other option on property is The Garden Grille which is so overpriced, has a terrible food selection, and their food is mediocre. The only good thing about both eateries is that their staff were very friendly! We were told at check-in that since I'm a gold member I get $10 food credit per adult per night for the duration of our stay. So we ended up ordering food from the restaurants. After the third night I checked my app and the food credit was crossed off...I guess I got points instead of food credit. Definitely would not have ordered food from the hotel had I known I didn't get the food credit!

Yelp
This hotel is older and not a fancy resort, however, the staff here are WONDERFUL, the room is comfy and clean. There is complimentary coffee, microwave and refrigerator in your room and also in the lobby. They have a small workout room that's perfect for what I needed to do. The beach behind the hotel has a snorkelling area that is safe for swimming and snorkelling. The park has a huge playground for children. The park is clean, well kept and safe. I gave this hotel five stars. The staff here represent the Aloha Spirit of Hawaii that the other islands may have lost. The staff at this Hilton on Kauai is warm, welcoming and yet professional. Maka'i no ame mahalo to the staff The hotel grounds are clean and well kept. I wish I took more pictures. Check them out. Great place to stay.

Yelp
We are just wrapping up our trip in Hawaii. Thank the Lord that this island is as amazing as it is as this was the worst Hilton we've ever stayed at. Food prices were astronomical and horrible. There's plenty of places to get much better food for cheaper. Kountry kitchen and island craves. The card keys rarely worked. So we'd be stuck outside of our room for 5-10 minutes every time trying to get in. And when we called the front desk all they pretty much did was shoulder shrug about it. House keeping was very inconsistent and showed up randomly. One day at 3:30 the other at 10. Hard to gauge when to be out of the room for it. If you are coming and staying in the area stay at the Aston we booked 1 night here and it was far better than the other hotel. Also they no longer have a fire show which was the reason we chose to stay here. So for sure feeling robbed of that experience.

Yelp
This Hilton Garden Inn is very conveniently located to other parts of Kauai and the Coconut Marketplace. The Staff was very accommodating especially Curt! He was very knowledgeable and every recommendation he made was spot on. I noticed him always going out of his way to be friendly and helpful. He made our stay extra special! We will be back, hopefully soon!

Yelp
Saw some terrible reviews on here. I must have arrived with some good luck. I had a very accommodating team help with a day stay. My flight was pushed until the evening and I wanted a resort to rest near the airport. This was a perfect mix of comfort and resort luxury in one setting. The location is at the top of a hill with a spectacular view of the point. It's an easy walk down to the cove or there is a terrace with a small pool. Just steps below is a small patio with a thatched tiki bar with great hamburgers and drinks. The service was excellent and the room was cheerful and clean. I really appreciate the staff letting me check in early for a days rest.

Yelp
Beautiful resort with quintessential Hawaiian landscaping and decor. We stayed in ground floor room 1222 with a walkout sliding door to the pool. We had two chairs and a small table to enjoy coffee on our private lanai. The room faces east and we watched the amazing sunrises each morning from the comfort of our room. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Filtered water stations around the resort to fill your water bottles. Short walk to Lydgate beach where there are two enclosed beach areas so you can swim and not be in the open ocean. Still gets waves and is a bit rougher at high tide. Complimentary coffee & tea in the lobby 6-10am daily. SPECTACULAR resort activities!! Hula, Ukulele & Lei Making we're absolutely top notch!! You will actually learn how to play ukulele and hula a whole song. The lei making was really amazing because you learn how to braid Ti leaves not just string flowers. The instructors take time and engage with everyone and try to teach all visitors the meaning of Aloha and Hawaiian culture. There is also a sunrise ceremony which a native Hawaiian walks you from the Hilton lobby to the nearby ancient Hawaiian 'temple' then to the seaside where you get to join a chant welcoming the day. It was beautiful and very special. Also the kids can ask for koi food to feed the fish. Overall, we highly recommend the Hilton Garden Inn Kauai.

Yelp
Had a reservation for our anniversary weekend getaway, when we got there they told us they moved us to a completely different hotel due to issues they were having. We received no information or call prior to checking in. Pretty sad for hilton to treat anyone like this that's excited to come to an island and stay.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed a few days at the end of our trip. Our daughter and granddaughter struggled to get an Uber to the airport, in came Curt the Bell Hop, he was absolutely amazing. He secured a ride helped settle our nerves and told many jokes. He made our whole stay! He is the reason to stay at this hotel!

Yelp
I really can't complain too much because this hotel was way way cheaper than many other nearby hotels that only looked a tiny bit better. I also docked a star because when we booked the website told us we would get 2 free Mai Tais per day...that's one heck of a perk!! However, when we checked in we asked for our drink tickets and the attendant told us they do not provide that anymore. We were exhausted and just wanted to check into our hotel room and crash so we didn't argue. Once in our hotel room we checked the website and it still said we should be getting 2 free Mai Tais. We figured the hotel attendant was just having a bad day and pocketed our tickets so we decided to try for the Mai Tais at the hotel bar. We told the waitress and she told us the state made it illegal to offer free alcohol. Alright that's fine but it would have been nice if the woman at check in told us that. But also the hotel really should get their act together and update their website regarding this or at least offer another perk in it's place. I did like how our hotel was walking distance to a perfect little beach surrounded by a natural rock formation that stopped the heavy waves from reaching the beach. Made it ideal for snorkeling! We also took advantage of the free bike rental. You have to jump through a few hoops: you can only select certain times of day and you have to reserve them before they are sold out, and you have to drive to a particular location a bit aways. But we managed and it was just incredible. Definitely recommend! We most ate at the one restaurant on the premises. It was fine but it did get crowded during peak time so be sure to grab a table on the earlier side. Don't even bother trying to get the tables with the fire pits, once those are claimed the guests never leave. Trust me, we tried to wait. Didn't work. Our room was fine, no beach view but it was just a place for us to shower and crash at night. I was upset that our room did not come with a safe. I don't know if that's all the rooms or just ours. I guess I could have asked. Also, our Keurig was broken. They told me I was probably doing it wrong but I wasn't so they came and replaced it. But for that morning I could not enjoy the coffee. So if you want the coffee I recommend checking to make sure the machine lights up and works. Again, this hotel was nothing special and a bit on the older side but the price is just unbeatable. I would stay here again for sure.

Yelp
Cockroach infestation. My +1 and I chose this place based on convenience: it was near the airport, close to some sightseeing, and pretty central as far as the island goes so that we could drive north or south. In that aspect it was great. If you don't mind cockroaches. The views are beautiful. There is a short walk to the beach, where there are a couple of shallow pools (at Lydgate Park) blocked from the rest of the ocean, which was pretty fierce this time of year. There were schools of fish and plenty of room to swim. From the exterior, the hotel is open with fresh air throughout and waterfalls and koi fish, as you would find in Hawaiian hotels. Parking can be a challenge. If you aren't able to snag one of the few spots at the front, be prepared to park on the backside of the hotel, to the right as you pull in. We tried their restaurant for breakfast, both ordering Loco Moco. It exceeded our expectations. The gravy was delicious, the crunchy onion on top added flavor and texture, and the egg and hamburger patty were cooked to perfection. We washed it down with some tasty pineapple, orange and guava (POG) juice. I reserved an Oceanview King Suite. And unfortunately, this is where they really feel short. The room was not adequately cleaned, with layers of dust covering the air vents, mold in the cracks of the tub, and bubbling drywall. And ironically enough, it was after a cleaning that we discovered a cockroach infestation in the bathroom. We walked in late in the evening (after a busy day hiking and sightseeing), flicked on the lights, and saw 3 full-sized German cockroaches (there brown ones that infiltrate interior spaces) scurry away. I managed to kill two of them, but one escaped under a crack in the baseboards. Hilton, this is where you really feel short. I called the front desk, but they didn't have another equivalent room available but promised to send a housecleaner to spray. He came with a vacuum (for what?) and said he couldn't spray with us in there, but he would take a picture to show management and then spray on the morning while we were gone for the day. Personally, I would have rather he just sprayed around the baseboards for the night, but he said he couldn't. So we got our stuff packed up and closed our luggage and put it all as high as we could, and sealed the bathroom door with towels so hopefully they would stay in there. When we woke up after the worst night of sleep ever, I found a smaller cockroach, dead, on the sink, and another roaches' wing nearby. I had enough. I went down to the front desk and they reassured us that they would spray, and they would have us in another room later that day after the previous guests checked out. Fantastic. Except that when we stopped by the room midday, a housekeeper started asking us if we were checking out of changing rooms because she was told not clean. Weird. So we go out and have a nice dinner, and we get a call from the hotel complaining that our stuff is still in the room. Of course it is. The other room wasn't available and we weren't going to waste a day on Kaua'i waiting for the hotel to figure things out. We told them we would be there shortly and we finally got moved, shaking out literally everything we owned before packing it all up again and going to another wing. This room was actually clean. After all that, I asked to be comped a room for the night, but the best they would do was remove a lesser charge. After a message to corporate, letting them know the conditions of their property and miscommunication, I received a few Honors Member points, but now I'm wondering if I'm going to be using them. When I got home, everything was shaken out again and everything went straight to the washer to make sure our home wouldn't be infested with uninvited visitors. I have no aloha for disease-carrying pests. Overall, I have zero tolerance for cockroaches and expected much more from a Hilton. I do not recommend this place.

Yelp
Over 10 years ago, Chun P and I stayed at this hotel when it was the Aston Aloha (and $70 a night!). Back then it was a little run down but had a lot of charm, as well as being by my fave snorkeling spot - Lydgate Park! In 2015 the Aston Aloha was purchased by Hilton and re-opened as a Hilton Garden Inn in 2016. There are some really great things about this place: -Really great staff! JN always remembered our names at breakfast and was a fantastic server! Julie in housekeeping was A+, all smiles and very helpful. Curt at the front desk was funny, chatted kindly with guests and had that aloha spirit. -Lydgate park has a protected beach, making it the most accessible and easy snorkeling on the island. Large 18" tangs, schools of silver fish, little 'Fiji' style puffers and more hover around the rocks on the edges. Grassy areas, playgrounds, and plenty of picnic tables too! -Free coffee setup in the lobby until 10 a.m. -The resort fee of $25 includes bike rentals (with reservation), free cooler/beach mat rentals, 2 water bottles per day and plenty of classes. There's free yoga classes, Ukulele lessons, traditional Hawaiian weaving classes, cultural chats and more. If you purchase your stay through Costco Travel, your package may include no resort fees! Costco Travel also got us a food & drink credit of $40 per day! -Water filling stations were easily accessible with purified water. -Beach towel service was great. I've stayed at places where they don't want you to bring their towels to the beach, this place didn't mind at all and you could change out your towels for fresh ones easily. -Quality live music and food at Mamahune's was great. You can't beat that view! And some areas of needed improvement.... The Hilton upgrade brought some nice furniture, but that's kinda where the upgrades ended. When we checked in (January 6-13, 2024) we were assigned a noisy room right in front of the ice maker/water dispenser, and it was just off the koi pond. The AC unit sounded like it was going to blow up, and there were no screens on the window, so if you opened it a gazillion bugs would fly in. The room was like a swamp. We requested a different room and got re-assigned promptly to 1238 also on the ground floor. 1238 had the same AC unit that sounded like an old boat with a bad motor, but it had a lanai, so at least we could let some fresh air in. Since we were on the ground floor we didn't feel comfortable leaving the slider open at night so it got a bit warm. We couldn't run the AC while we slept because even with wearing earplugs the AC was so loud and unpredictable with banging noises. Also, the lanai had just one chair, and when I asked if we could have another and a small table (like the rest of the rooms) I was told by staff that the patio furniture was in short supply, but if I 'found' another one...i.e. took it from another balcony that could fix the problem. Eek. The room was clean, but pretty worn with damaged paint. They used some kind of intense Febreeze or room fragrance to try to mask the dampness. You could tell a flood had happened at some point, the popcorn ceiling was a bit weird on one side and the framed art looked like it was rotting from water damage with the print curled up in the frame. The toilet would not stop running, and they had someone fix it....well...kind of. It wasn't running anymore, but then would need multiple flushes to get the job done. Oddly, the water pressure in the shower was really intense! Almost like a fire hose. Which is weird, as most hotels have really weak water pressure. There was no way to adjust the water pressure, just one handle. If the Hilton were to invest some money to spruce this place up, it would really go a long way: a new air system, remove popcorn ceilings, repaint, retile and refloor - this place would be an absolute stunner. Overall we had a great time here - but when the room is in the $300+++ range per night, things need to be improved. The people who work here are terrific - Hilton just needs to make the rooms as awesome as the staff are!

Yelp
The room felt clean but the amenities were limited compared to other Hiltons I've stayed at. They did not have any laundry bags or cotton swaps in the room like they do at other Hiltons. There is parking included which is nice. There is a nice garden with a koi pond in the back.

Yelp
10/21/22 Alright, we only stopped here because it was the closest place where we could get sunscreen. It's about a two minute drive from Lydgate & thankfully there's sunscreen where you check in. There's only two choices, in spray, very limited but beggars can't be choosers. This is all because hubby left all the swimming stuff at the condo (sunscreen, soap, after sun gel). Now I paid $16 so I don't burn & I can't take it back home with me.....(it's definitely over the 3 oz limit) DaRn!

Yelp
On our honeymoon here, I woke up in the middle of the night to a flying ant on my pillow/face, and by the end of our stay we had seen two COCKROACHES -- one under our luggage on top of the desk and another on the bathroom wall. We also saw a small bug in between our comforter and the top sheet in the night (along with some hairs that weren't ours in between top sheet and comforter on night one). After reporting all of this to the front desk, the hotel only gave us a $25 credit, which was just laughable. They didn't apologize or really have a reaction to it. They immediately asked if we had proof of the bugs (which we did) and then after we showed them photos, they still didn't offer the credit until requested for money back on our stay. We ended up going directly to Hilton customer service and they gave us a night refund. The front desk staff weren't apologetic or helpful through any of these issues. Our room keys stopped working three different times, requiring multiple trips to the front desk, until they finally had to replace the battery in the door lock. The rooms are dark, damp, and musty -- our clothes and luggage felt stale and dingy by the time we left. Beds are uncomfortable old spring mattresses, pillows are pretty dated / get flat fast, and there is a lot of noise from the hallways that made it hard to sleep through the night. There was mildew and black in the shower crevices, broken bathroom vents, lights burned out on the mirrors, and everything just felt very neglected and old. The internet is too weak that the TVs can't stream anything, we could only use cable tv on their TVs even though they were smart TVs. We read in reviews that they typically charge you if you ask to upgrade your internet speed (which is their only solution) so we didn't even bother. There were stains on the couch. For the price of the hotel, we thought it would be a little more modern or up to regular hotel standards. The listing photos we originally saw of this hotel are misleading. Just be aware that your requested "beachfront room" like look like ours (see pictures), because that's what we paid for. On top of all that, they tack on a $25 resort fee (even if you don't use anything) and another $25 per day for parking. Thought they would have done something fun knowing we were on our honeymoon, but they didn't. This place is dirty, outdated, and not worth the price. We would never recommend this hotel to anyone.

Yelp
Would I recommend this place? Only if you don't mind dark, damp conditions--and cockroaches. This hotel is a total dump. My expectations were low, but the reality was worse. The rooms reek, and roaches are everywhere, even inside the drawers--so keep your toothbrush hidden! Housekeeping doesn't clean daily, and when you report the roach problem, they don't even seem to care. The staff are neither particularly courteous nor rude. The woman at the concierge wasn't very pleasant and seemed more focused on upselling expensive activities than providing helpful recommendations. You're better off booking directly to save money. After spotting roaches in our room, we chose to avoid dining at the hotel altogether--there was no way we were taking that chance. And as for the $8 cappuccino? Definitely not worth it. Amenities are bare-bones. They provide only paper cups, and if you ask for plates or cutlery, you're out of luck. The AC is not only loud but also leaks onto the worn-out carpet. While the location is convenient, the overwhelming stench from a nearby treatment plant hits you before you even reach the hotel. To top it off, they charge $25 for parking in a dimly lit lot where you'll be surrounded by frogs and roaches at night. And if that's not enough, there's also a ridiculous $25 resort fee. I could go on, but just read the reviews--it's truly awful, and yes, it literally stinks.

Yelp
Have been here twice. Love the location, close to airport just 10-15min. Close to beach. And this beach has a "protected area" with rocks around, made the inside part like a pond, very peaceful and calm water which is totally kid friendly. My kid loves waves , he always go to the side (over the pond area) but he also enjoys swim there. Big grass area in front with two giant playground and play structure. The one bedroom cottage we stayed at, although it is a bit old, but we still loved it. The dinner and breakfast wasn't as good as the first time (memory is always the best), still quite tasty. But dinner is about $40/pp, breakfast is about $30/pp. two small pool, can't compare with resort, but my kid never used it...because the ocean is so close. And there is a beach bar, serves ok food with fantastic ocean front view! Overall the building is old, only 2 laundry machines, so I washed all my cloths by hand and hang them out to dry on the patio chair...but we do love the location and the price is probably the cheapest on the island?:)
