We absolutely loved the hotel and friendly employees. Bojana & Pat in the Aviator Tavern were great servers. We had multiple meals and all the food was delicious! Lobby is so pretty and everything/room was very clean. Love the fish tanks. The jacuzzi & inside pool were amazing! The layout of hotel, the morning sunrise & later sunset colors was so nice from balcony. Love the beach access and pier right there.

My husband is a diamond member through hilton and stays with them frequently. He works out of town a lot so when he books rooms he always books multiple rooms for multiple nights. First he booked 4 rooms for 3 nights and picked the oceanfront view. Once he arrived with his work crew none of the rooms were oceanfront views. They were told that they didnt book for long enough to get the ocean view and that they save those rooms for people who book for long stays. I would have assumed 4 rooms for 3 nights would have been good enough but I guess not. My husband gets his things to his room and shortly after unpacking notices a roach crawling on the wall. He takes a picture and shows the man at the front desk who's response was oh its just a big what do you want me to do about it. He asks for a new room and was made to go pack all of his bags back up by himself and carry them back to the lobby before they would give him a new room. Come morning time they ask about the free breakfast and were told that they do not get the free breakfast. They told him he could only recieve his points for his stay or the free breakfast and that he needed to go on his phone to pick one or the other. When he asks about doing so they told him it was to late and that he needed to do so before checking in. The attitudes of the workers at the front desk made every situation so much worse! As much money as he spends at the Hilton and as often as he stays with them he has never been told this! Remind you this has all been the first night and morning of their 3 night stay. He will not be taking his crew back to this hotel!

Google
Definitely wasn't a knock out experience! The lobby is the best feature apparently. Our ocean view room had poor water pressure and the bathroom fan didn't function at all. Manager asked rudely if he could "send somebody up," so I "politely " declined! The place wasn't what you'd expect from a Hilton Hotel.

We were renting a house for a week with friends, and due to the long drive, we arrived the day before and stayed overnight in the hotel. The location is great and the lobby is beautiful, but the bedroom was just ok. We got the one bedroom suite with the sofabed for our son in the living room. It was like a medieval torture device. He’s slept on a lot of sofabeds in our travels and this was by far the worst one. The actual floor would have been more comfortable. The king bed in the bedroom had decent pillows and the mattress was ok, but the duvet had no cover and clearly hadn’t been washed in awhile and the bed cover was a white polyester that was dirty and scratchy and ugly. They provided coffee maker with one pod and two cups for a room that sleeps four. Not a comfortable stay. I think they are relying on their premium location to get bookings but the guest experience isn’t great.

Google
Perfect location, easy in and out. Ocean front balcony was excellent. The pier is worth walking on. Wallace at the front desk was happy and pleasant to deal with. The pillows were just ok, I wish I had brought my own. The room was clean and comfortable.

Google
Overpriced for the location alone because this property is certainly the lowest quality Hilton I've ever seen. The smell of mildew in the hallways alone is so overbearing I needed my inhaler. Mold along the wall in the bathtub, absolutely zero water pressure in the shower - this frustrated me so much I had to resort to sponge bathing standing up in a few inches of water in the tub, forget trying to wash your hair in the shower so I used the sink. The lobby is the only nice part. My kids enjoyed the fish. The pools are small, beds uncomfortable, rooms very small, but the view was nice. Awful whistling coming through the balcony door despite it being shut and locked. All of the chairs on the balcony were covered in spiders, which is expected, I guess being outside and all, but it all felt rundown. Speaking of rundown, you can definitely tell everywhere in the room and hallways have received the quick "landlord special" with shoddy paint jobs and caulk everywhere. Their advertised breakfast buffet doesn't exist. Overall, not worth the price point and we will not be back. We did, however, enjoy the beach and all of the hotel staff were friendly. I'm just appalled that this has Hilton name.

Google
We had another perfect visit to the newly renovated Hilton Garden Inn in Kitty Hawk.||The hotel was very busy with a wedding in the adjacent Kitty Hawk Pier event house and the hotel handled it perfectly. BTW the pier is open to Hilton guests by showing your room key.||Our room was spotless and had a perfect view of the ocean/beach as the weather was very cooperative as well.||Restaurants are very close by in Duck as well as Kitty Hawk to include the hotel itself. |The Aviator restaurant on the premises is open for breakfast and dinner and we had the pleasure of having "Regina" as our waitress for breakfast and she did a great job and it was her first day on the floor.|For a hotel restaurant the price of breakfast was very reasonable for a beach location.||All in an all very pleasant weekend at a great hotel with fantastic staff in a very convenient location with supermarkets, restaurants and even a Walmart a short distance away.

Google
The beds were comfortable and very nice rooms. The rooms had a view of the ocean to the side. The only complaint I would have is the pillows were a little flat but using two of them worked. Location was great it is right on the beach for easy access. The service was almost too much. I received 3 text messages from them asking if I needed anything.

Yelp
We spent two nights at the Hilton Garden Inn, and we discovered a real gem on the Outer Banks! This comfortable beach hotel is like a little resort with indoor and outdoor pools, beachfront location, a restaurant that serves all three meals in season and breakfast and dinner off season, plus has a full bar. Most rooms have either a side or front view a view of the ocean and balconies. The hotel is clean and looks to be recently renovated. The beds are comfortable, and the rooms are quiet. The location is ideal in that you can easily drive up to Duck for its cute shops and restaurants or down to Kill Devil Hills and Nags Head for more restaurants, shopping, and entertainment. Parking is free. You just need to place a hang tag on your rear view mirror to show you are a guest at the hotel.

Yelp
Aviator Restaurant has an excellent menu. Service is prompt very clean A health rating. Supper shrimp and grits and crab cakes are absolutely delicious The breakfast menu offers the Greek omlet and breakfast sandwich, both of which are healthy and all meals are generous portions .

Melinda M.

Yelp
It would be nice if the bar and restaurant was open later than 9 on Fridays and Saturdays. Our service is always good other than this.

Yelp
We had a fantastic stay here. Great location right on the beach with free parking. The rooms were nice and much more updated than the lobby. We had some drinks at the bar which were good, but the lack of AC was in the lobby was our only small complaint. We could tell others at the bar were also hot -- the bartender informed us that they always keep it warm in there and it can get miserable. Both the indoor and outdoor pool was great, hot tub was nice, beach access was also appreciated. Price was reasonable and overall a great stay!

Yelp
This is not a good place to stay if you want safety and a functioning room. I came here to get my little boy out of the house and see family here because my mom was passing away and it was too much for him. The first day I was unpacking my car around 5:00 and a man with a dog stood on the sidewalk by my car and stared at me and my son. He was about 3' from me and wouldn't move on. I stopped unloading and looked at him and his dog. He said oh don't worry he's friendly. I got annoyed he wasn't moving and making us feel scared. I told him to get his dog away then told my son to stay away from his dog. Hoping I gave a message to him to go away. The creepy man yelled at me to move my child. My son was scared and I was too so we talked to the front desk and the police. The front desk knew who he was. He lived across the street and the police found him and talked to him. The lady at the front desk was nice and refunded me for the night which was so sweet. The next morning I booked another room but had to move rooms because they said they didn't have anymore open and were booked even though it's January. So I got a more expensive room and the heat was really loud so they had to replace it. They were drilling etc. my mom was in her last few hours that day. Then I had a water leak in the bathroom. Another person had to come. Then I put my son in the shower and the water barely came out then stopped coming out for a moment. I called again and then asked for a manager but they never got back to me. My mom passed away that day and I was on FaceTime with my dad as she passed. I booked a third night and asked the front desk what was happening and why no one fixed my water and why no one called me yet. It just was not handled well. A call would've been nice but at this point I would never stay here again. I ran into a couple that were having a terrible stay as well and said they would never come here again. It's so sad that places are run like this. Even if my mom wasn't passing away, I would expect to have a nice peaceful stay. All I can say to people reading this is this is just not run well and I bet eventually people will not stay here because the word is getting out.

Yelp
I forgot to thank our waitress Bojana for making our breakfast so enjoyable. Wanted to update my hotel review but I guess to much time has passed.

Nancy S.

Yelp
Once we checked into our on the 3rd floor with no elevator and having to walk into a garage type of building, we wanted to leave immediately. We asked to check out sooner with a 1 day refund and they said no. Poor customer service. Is this really worth it since we will never return and will tell everyone to stay away.

Heather W.

Yelp
I stayed in the hotel for almost 3 weeks due to a death in the family. The staff went above and beyond especially Zabrina, Raven and Miss Leslie. Anything I needed was taken care of - even a room change! The food in the restaurant was good and I highly recommend the mushroom risotto if it's on the menu. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The housekeeping staff was also excellent. 10/10 would stay again

Yelp
Solid 3 for location- couldn't find many reasonable priced places on the beach and with a pool and outdoor bar. And this location had a pier and beach chair/umbrella rentals. Was disappointed though that Sep 3 was told outside tiki bar was closed for the season. We didn't even get to try it, and there was no notice. Other small things to note but be flexible about: Had a dog toy under our bed so guess people before us had a pet, zero water pressure in shower, ordered a vanilla latte every morning and was a diff price every time, and problem with flies in bar/restaurant but not sure if that was bad weather so after first night we got to go and ate in room. Other patrons were much ruder about it but it's not the Four Seasons

Yelp
As a Hilton honors member I have to say this is one of my favorite hotels....ocean front, hot tub, pool and close to everything. Stay here at least twice a year---once before the Blackbeard's revenge race in March and then we get down here early for our summer week in Avon and spend a few days in kitty hawk venturing out to the local restaurants and soaking up the Sun and Hilton hospitality!

Yelp
2nd time staying at this place. Two years ago, it was phenomenal. This year they did renovations which were nice however the quality of the staff, housekeeping and service in general is sub par. We booked for 6 days had to ask for towels and toilet paper everyday. Room was serviced only one time and that's only because I complained. Was told by mgmt that it would be serviced daily and that was not true. Our toilet seat was broken I notified front desk but sadly had to fix it myself daily. The pool was dirty and had not been skimmed until myself and other guests skimmed it. Sand is all over the bottom of the pool. They have a pool vacuum but it doesn't work properly. We will not return. Also if you are elderly or physically disabled you will not be able to sit at a table by the pool they are all bar height.

Yelp
The Aviator Bar and Bistro are in the Hilton Garden Inn located in Kitty Hawk, NC. The Hilton is brand spanking new. It's excessively clean and spacious. The restaurant is quaint and in an open space. The decor celebrates the accomplishments of the Wright brothers. The food was tasty but a bit pricey which is to be expected at a Hilton. Service was excellent however, the restaurant was not very crowded. There are so many restaurants in the area however, this was a convenient place to chow down after a long drive.

Samantha A.

Yelp
It has been about 3 years since we have stayed at any Hilton hotel (we used to be frequent with staying) and to say we were disappointed and disgusted this time, is an understatement. There were sticky drink marks on the desk, the floor was extremely dirty (we were wiping up water off the floor), the ac unit was dusty, and there was literal feces on the toilet paper which is hazardous waste(still confused why new toilet paper wasn't put out in the first place, sorry but that is disgusting all on its own then to check it when arriving and see this? No thanks) Needless to say I had my husband take our belongings to the car and checked out immediately. For the amount of money they charge, it is expected to be a nice stay. This was on Oct 4, it is now the 7th and still no call from anyone.

Yelp
My husband and I went here for our 25th wedding anniversary and it was amazing!! We can't wait to go back! The staff were very polite, the room was great, and the view from our porch was awesome. Food and drinks from the hotel were very good as well!

Yelp
Nice property with a great staff. Stayed 2 nights and had a very relaxing time. Hotel restaurant is good and very reasonable considering you are at the beach. Nice amenities and close to everything.

Yelp
Breakfast Not what I was expecting... but probably it will work for somebody else... The hotel is great. It was just the breakfast what as disappointing. Breakfast service looks like to be administrated by Aviator Bar Bistro
google avatar

Autumn A.

Yelp
We had a wonderful stay here. The service was excellent, the food was exceptional and the room was clean! The pool was clean and the deck had a great view! The beach access was convenient which is great! The beach was quite and very relaxing. Overall 5 stars from me!

Yelp
I really enjoyed my stay at the Hilton Garden Inn Outer Banks. Jeremy was awesome and very helpful when arranging my stay. My room was very nice and clean, and I especially loved my balcony view. I woke up each morning during my stay to watch the sun rise. Second to the view was the breakfast the hotel offers. The french toast was delicious!
google avatar

Kim G.

Yelp
Walking into the lobby it felt a bit outdated, from early 80's. I was just visiting someone but desk staff was friendly, rooms easy to find, the elevator was very slow for only being 5-6 stories. Room was very basic but spacious, view was pretty good of the ocean. Bathroom was ok it's definitely a no frills kinda hotel. The bar downstairs seemed kinda busy with a younger crowd, if they updated it I think it would really do well. If you're looking for a basic clean hotel with ocean view and access then you're in luck, just not sure how the prices are in season.

Scee J.

Yelp
Service was great. The hotel was clean! I liked the flooring In the room. It's not all carpet. My room was on the side of the hotel but I still had a nice view of the beach and could watch the sunrise the next morning. I didn't eat at the hotel but they do offer a breakfast, but you have to pay for it. I would definitely stay here again.

Yelp
We just left a 2 night stay at this hotel. This is a 2 part review. The staff was outstanding. Leslie at the front desk, James at the Aviator Bar and the rest of the staff in the front of house were very helpful. The cleaning and maintenance of this property is embarrassing. I am surprised corporate hasn't stepped in to assist with a plan to get this great property back on track. There is a management problem here. Although I read negative reviews about this property's condition prior to booking, I thought it was a few isolated conditions. After staying in an ocean front, $400 per night room, I saw first hand the poor cleaning and maintenance. Water stains running walls, spider webs at the corners of interior walls, balconies that haven't been cleaned including basics like furniture and railing. I cleaned the furniture and railing prior to letting my wife sit down or lean on the top rail. Dead Bugs have accumulated over time at the doors and separation walls. It is disgusting. Cleaning and maintenance department heads and the GM are running this beautiful property into the ground. This review would be a 1 star if not for the front of house staff. This should not have a Hilton name on it!

Yelp
In town for the night. Have stayed here before and im a hilton rewards member. Good place to stay. Way better than the other ones

Linda P.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed here for a weekend getaway. I chose the hotel because we wanted to be right on the beach. This hotel did not disappoint. The beach is right out the back door of the hotel. There are multiple places to sit outside and enjoy the ocean without actually going on the beach, if desired. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our room faced the ocean and we were able to witness a wedding on the beach (an added bonus!). We enjoyed several hours sitting our balcony just listening to the waves. I would recommend this hotel for your OBX vacation.

Timothy W.

Yelp
No vent in the bathroom. Hundreds of bugs in the room. Red stain on duvet cover. Hairs on towels. Mold on tub. Loud air conditioner. Foul odor. Over priced. Bad tasting eggs Benedict. Dirty pool and hot tub. Spider web on ceiling in room. "Please clean me" written in the dirty window by a previous guest. Broken jacuzzi knob Great location and view of the ocean/beach. Pier is nice
google avatar

Michael G.

Yelp
This is a very nice location and it's awesome if you want to spend some time at the beach. I was very happy with my stay here. So much so, that I was planning on returning for another weekend. When my plans changed at the last minute, I called and I was helped by a woman named Leslie. She was tremendous, She was helpful, patient and kind. I will absolutely, positively return.

Yelp
Welcome to the Hilton Garbage Inn. Prefacing this review to say my husband and I are not bougie by any means. We booked this hotel with points and are diamond club members. This property is extremely rundown and has not been maintained. The room itself was poorly, lit, and felt institutionalized. The ceilings of the room had mold on them and the bathroom was gross (see pics) The property itself had trash strewn around outside that hadn't been picked up over multiple days . As soon as we checked in, we tried to upgrade to an ocean front room and were told multiple times nothing was available due to the storm. They would not release rooms because they were afraid of the ceiling falling down on us. The front desk personnel were not friendly, nor accommodating in any way. We were scheduled to stay 5 nights. When we went to the restaurant the 3rd morning we should've asked for a table for six to include the four flies that joined us for our mediocre breakfast. We decided then to leave and go to the Hampton Inn in Carolla. Didn't worry about the points we left and paid for two nights. Best decision we could have made. Only wish we would have made it sooner. If the Hilton family were to come on this property, they would sell it in a heartbeat. DON'T STAY HERE.
google avatar

Valerie V.

Yelp
With the exception them having us go to the front desk to pick up hard copies of keys and our digital key not working, the staff blaming my phone for the issue when it worked yesterday in Virginia, and the while having dinner the same staff member bolted into the kitchen and began yelling at one of the cooks...the place is nice. Love the location as well as the amenities. Our room is awesome, newly remodeled .
google avatar

Lori S.

Yelp
Room was nice. Both pools and hot tub were nice. Great access to the beach. No continental breakfast but they do have a restaurant. No all day free coffee/tea like the other locations.

Yelp
My friends and I recently visited for the Outer Banks Marathon and had an excellent stay. We chose an ocean front room with balcony, and I loved the sound of the ocean waves crashing on the shore, and watching the sun rise over the beach. Our room was well appointed with microwave, coffee maker and refrigerator. It was clean and spacious. It was too cold for the outdoor swimming pool, but the swimming area along with an overlook full of rocking chairs looked incredible! We visited the indoor pool and hot tub, and had a wonderful time there! I loved the changing color lights in the pool and hot tub - such a fun touch! The lobby is beautifully decorated with two fireplaces and a nice dining area and bar. Several times during our stay, we enjoyed a hot chocolate or coffee which were available for free in the lobby, along with cookies in the afternoon. It made for a welcoming and warm environment. The only feedback I would offer is that when we arrived, we were told our room was not ready, and they would need to call us once it was. We asked if we could store our luggage, and were told they didn't have a place for it. So we carried our luggage back to the car and headed off to find food. Just five minutes later, I received a call that the room was ready. I just wish that piece of the stay was a bit better coordinated. Overall, an outstanding stay and convenient location. I would definitely visit this hotel again on a repeat trip to OBX!

A C.

Yelp
Booked what I thought was an oceanfront, was oceanview but really a view of the hotel. Got in very late after a long day of travel. After getting to our room with a view of the other tower of the hotel, I went to the lobby. I had paid extra for what I thought was oceanfront. Had to wake up the front desk lady. Instead of offering to upgrade me or switch rooms, and I would have paid more for what I wanted.... She proceeded to aggressively tell me it was my fault and it was what I booked. Again.... No options.... Never once said I am sorry, what can we do.... The service was so bad I would have left and gone to find another place to stay but the hotel already has my money. First 15 minutes here weekend ruined. Shame on you Hilton. Recommend everyone double triple checks what they are paying for.... The feeling I am left with is I just got taken for a ride.

Yelp
Dirty and misrepresented rooms. The room was really dirty, as was the rest of the hotel. It's as though they just don't care. I asked a janitor downstairs where the restroom was, and he took me to it, but he also told me it's filthy... and he was right. It was really dirty. And it was clear that janitor not only knew that but had no intention of cleaning it at that time. The room was better than that bathroom, thankfully, but still really dirty. Our mirror was covered with smudges and had clearly never been cleaned. The sofa was old and gross. The air conditioning unit stunk and clearly needed to be replaced. The walls on the bathroom had all kinds of gross bits on it that came off with a wet tissue... horrible service. They also lie about their rooms. The room I chose was advertised as "side ocean view." That's a lie. You could not see the ocean at all. Our room faced the parking lot, so it should really be advertised as a "side parking lot view." I asked to change rooms to one with an ocean view, and they moved us to a room that still didn't face the ocean unless you really walk up to the window and tilt your head to the corner... you could then only see a sliver of the ocean. We weren't happy with the hotel, but it's one of the only ones that is right on the beach in the area and we were tired of traveling and already switching rooms, so we dealt with it. But the dirty nature of the place and misrepresentation is unacceptable for a Hilton resort.

Tim S.

Yelp
For real, you rent chairs to your guests? This is the first hotel I've ever stayed at where you have to pay to sit down. Was going to spend a nice relaxing morning on the beach, only to find out that I have to pay to use the chairs. Poor showing Hilton. Are you that desperate for revenue? Number of chairs rented as of 10:00 am, zero. Number of perturbed guests, many.
google avatar

Cheryl K.

Yelp
Good location with ample parking. Room was spacious and clean. We were only there one night, but would stay again. Pros: location, restaurant on site, free parking. Cons: The heater unit in the room rattles & took a few adjustments to quiet down.
google avatar

Leah D.

Yelp
For being on the beach and a 3 star resort, this hotel is great! It has everything you need for a good time in the OBX (especially because you won't be spending that much time in the room.. I hope). The condition of the hotel is ok, there could be some renovation here and there, but otherwise, it does the trick! I would love to stay here again for my next trip to the OBX!
google avatar

Yelp
We stay here for a few days before taking possession of our cottage for one reason: service. Every team member, from the front desk to maintenance, understands hospitality and goes out of the way to make you happy. As Hilton Diamond members, we experience a number of hotels across the country . . . this is one of the best.
google avatar

Ryu D.

Yelp
Seriously loved my stay here! There was warm cookies waiting for us when you arrived. They were goey and melty. Exactly what we needed after a day of flying. The room was nicely decorated and had some treats awaiting us including some delicious gummy beats! Location is ideal! You can walk to the beach when you exit the building. Great date spot for couples who want to get away.

Oh B.

Yelp
So it was stinking in the room, I couldn't sleep because there was many bugs. And food service was bad and unfriendly.
google avatar

Isaiah T.

Yelp
Staff, especially so at the pier, do not wear masks. Generally, my time here was uncomfortable. I found this area to be filthy, the staff unfriendly, and utilities (like the shower outdoors) to be broken. I find it atrocious that Kitty Hawk has allowed them to privatize a pier. North Carolina's beaches should remain accessible to the public and if they are to be destroyed for the construction of a pier, everyone should have access. The lady who works the pier is incredibly rude and should be immediately disciplined for failure to follow mask ordinances.

Judy C.

Yelp
This is a review for the Event/Catering Group at the Hilton Garden Inn in Kitty Hawk, NC. Miha Slegel and her team are professional, efficient and provide excellent food and service. We had a Christmas Appreciation Dinner there last evening and couldn't have been more pleased. Miha was key in planning the event. She is responsive, detail oriented, and clearly experienced. Her suggestions for food, floor plan, and timing were all on point. She delivered everything as promised. The event coordinator, Jamie, checked in with me a couple times during the evening to make sure all was going well. The room and table decorations were exquisite - complete with live greens. The room was set up to specification and when we needed an extra table it was provided and set up quickly. We had 70 guests and each table was served within minutes of the others. Everyone enjoyed their meal, and there were many compliments on the food and service. Carrie was responsive and went over and above to help out by boxing up dinners for a couple of people who were sick and couldn't come. She was quick to respond to every special request. Having organized a few weddings and other large events, I can honestly say that this was one of my best experiences. I highly recommend this venue.

Yelp
The best 2 star Hilton I have ever been to! It was clean and spacious and the room was also covid disinfected, at least that's what the sticker said on the door. Little things really stood out that set this Hilton apart from many others. Like offering only decaf Lipton teabags (or coffee) at breakfast, who needs caffeine?! In the room things got really exciting as you could ride the waves on the buckling laminate floor while listening to the ocean breeze as it passes from around the closed balcony door jam. It's like the beach is in your room, sand included! Check your vision every morning by attempting to stare out the balcony door or windows... yeah, it was cleaned in the spring, why are we here in Oct? Feel like fishing? Start by looking for the elevator button! No access to Netflix or smart TV apps, but you have basic local cable... late nights with QVC anyone? The best part was the chills and sweat rotation from the in-room AC kicking on and off while you sleep (or try too). Rhammmm rhammm clank ping! I do realize that a hotel at the beach has to be challenging to maintain, but I didn't sign up for that challenge - they did. Lastly, happy anniversary to my wife... we made the weekend fun(ish) anyway.

Yelp
I'm very torn about how to rate this hotel. First of all, I am never staying here again. I was actually shocked at the condition of this hotel. Maybe I misunderstood the level of standards Hilton tries to maintain. As the prominent structure on Mile post 1, I guess I viewed this hotel as a flagship accommodation--my fault. THE GOOD: I loved the exclusively Hilton-guest pier and how they monitored it to ensure it was only used by Hilton guests. I will miss the pier the most, the best feature this hotel has. We got a corner suite with a microwave and a fridge and they were clean and worked well. Our room appeared clean and smelled really nice, something you should never take for granted. THE BAD: They need to change out their pillows more often. Half of their pillows are severely worn out (see pic), believe me it can affect your sleep if you're sensitive to quality bedding. If you stay here, BYOP. The shower head is the worst I've ever, ever experienced, ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD. Its basically a ring of water sprinkles, and I'mnot even talking about the water pressure, but the selection of the appliance delivering the water. It was really hard to take a shower. I'm kind of happy to be home. The balcony made me very uncomfortable. Dead bugs and graffiti, really?? (See pics) There are no lights to light the parking lot at night--not safe. There are so many other family-run hotels on the beach that complement the charm of OBX, but this ain't it.

Yelp
This will be my new favorite place to stay! The hotel is really nice and clean. Located on the beach. You also get to use the beach pier for free! The guest service was stellar. It wasn't super crowded and I can't get over just how nice the beach is. I will be back quickly!

Yelp
Bottom Line: One of only a few choices for a full service hotel in OBX. There are not that many hotels on the Outer Banks; moreover, there are even fewer nice, full service hotels in OBX. For my recent trip to NC's shores I had hoped to stay with a local hotel but circumstances landed me at the Hilton Garden Inn instead. I didn't know what to expect but I was certainly pleased with this hotel and would stay here again. Here are a few notes about this hotel to help you decide if this is where you want to stay for your Outer Banks vacation: - Hotel is oceanfront. There aren't that many ocean front rooms so if you want one, book early. Other rooms are partial oceanfront and what that means is they are North and South facing so you can only see the ocean from your room's balcony, not from inside the room itself. - Hotel amenities include beach access, beach equipment rentals (for additional cost), an indoor pool, an indoor hot tub and an outdoor pool. Also, there is a small fitness center and game room. There is an onsite restaurant and bar, inclusive of an outdoor tiki bar. - The five story hotel is well maintained and clean. The rooms are comfortable and include a refrigerator and microwave. I like that they use all white bedding in lieu of creepy, germy bedspreads. Each room has either a patio or balcony. For better views, I recommend a higher floor. - The hotel owns the adjacent Kitty Hawk Pier and hotel guests have complimentary access to the fishing pier.

Yelp
Decent hotel. On the beach. You can rent the beach chairs and umbrella on the beach for the day. But you need to do that daily and cannot reserve/book in advance. Not to mention that if you leave your chairs unattended(to go grab lunch or what not) other hotel guests will take your chairs??!! Just tells you what kind of people stay here-not very classy or honest for that matter. Had those type of issues EVERY single day!! The room was ok. Have stayed in nicer Hiltons. We are diamond members, had free breakfast that was decent. The girls at the morning caffe were nice enough. Biscuits -egg,bacon and cheese were yummy. I will not be back, thats for sure.

Yelp
I decided to visit the Hilton because we wanted to wake up and watch the sunrise, and I'm glad I did. We had a great ground level room, walking right out to the pool and beach access! I don't think I would ever pick a room on a different floor. It was perfect to get out and in quickly. So convenient. The staff at the front desk were so helpful. The lobby is beautiful with several fish tanks. They provided extra blankets and approved a late check out (noon instead of 11). The room was decent and had everything we needed. Was it a little outdated? Yes. But I've stayed at other hotels in the obx and can tell you the Hilton was the best so far. The bed was comfortable, the air and conditioning worked perfectly. I brought extra shampoo and conditioner because I had my husband and kids with me, I suggest families do the same. The breakfast was a little pricey, around $50 for the four of us, but it was good and convenient. If you want to save on that part just drive down the road to McDonald's. We enjoyed the pool on day two and found nothing that concerned us. The courtyard was beautiful including lots of seating and a tiki bar. The only reason I can't give 5 stars is the water pressure was spotty and we did find some spider type bugs inside. I get covid makes it tough for staff but you could clean that from time to time. We will definitely be back. We didn't get a chance to even enjoy the inside pool or jacuzzi!

Yelp
It thought this place was pricey for the quality of accommodation. It was a great location right at the intersection of route 158 and route 12. The parking lot is very small and there was trash and boxed pizza with flies all over on the trash can just as you enter the hotel lobby. The lady at the desk was not a native english speaker so it was a challenge getting guidance on area seafood restaurants. She recommend Steamers which was good but she gave me the wrong directions. They have a morning breakfast buffet but pricey at $13 bucks and you don't have the option of any other items except for cereal and fruit. The coffee was worse than average. At nearly $200 bucks for a Thursday night, just a little on the pricey side for the accomodation.

Yelp
We stayed Friday and Saturday. It feels like a transient hotel where folks stay for a day before their house or condo weekly rental starts. The breakfast buffet has good food but it was incredibly understaffed. Same thing with the lunch on the patio. There was basically 1 overworked curt bartender and maybe 1 person who ran out the food. Probably the same person who was cooking it because all of our meals were cold. If I owned the hotel, I would set up an outside grill and sell hotdogs and burgers. They would do a great business and the food would be hot and quicker. Indoor pool was a nice bonus for kids at night. The outdoor pool is a bit small but the kids liked during the day. They gave our kids sand buckets when we checked in which was a fun surprise. There is a great pharmacy across the street that sells everything you could ever want. Also a duck donut and a BBQ place are easy walking distance. It was fine for a night or two but I can't imagine spending a week vacation here. If they hire some people for meals, it would greatly enhance your experience.

Yelp
It is nice and hygienic to not have a sink in the bathroom. Very nice touch. Great beds. HOWEVER. Was told this was recently upgraded and better than Nags Head HI. Intended for one night stay but was exhausted from being on the road from Asheville, NC. As Rewards Member I asked for late checkout and was told I could checkout the next day at 2:00 PM. Well the next day at 11:00 AM Housekeeping started banging on my door though I had quite sign hanging. Then they banged on my door again at 12:00 PM and again at 1:00 PM. I went downstairs and told them regardless I would like to stay for two more nights. (I had stayed 11 nights in a row with storms at various HIE's on my way here.) Last night I walked by the front desk and told them that I would like my room cleaned today, and I left early and told the different desk person as I walked by this AM to go our shopping for the day. When I came back this evening - even though had no door tag hanging and I saw the maid this AM three doors down this AM - my room had not been cleaned! C'mon guys. So I switched rooms to first floor and had to drag all my stuff with me. Then my eyes started watering in my new room because there was smoke and pervasive smell of popcorn coming from an adjacent room? Also the shower was not really warm but luekwarm with little pressure. BIG CAUTION(S): watch the front door(s) as they are quite dangerous walked in and got smacked in the face and banged up my wrist. As you are walking OUT of the lobby the first set of doors FOLD in on you and 10 feet later the doors SLIDE to the side. Strange design. SUGGESTION: post warning outside about the doors or fix them to open the same way so no one will be injured. Second, needs to be much better communication between front desk staff at shift-change so ball doesn't get dropped regarding customer requests. In turn need better communication between Front Desk and Housekeeping. Also when someone is smelling up the hallway please have proper ventilation for folks in surrounding rooms so their eyes don't get irritated and clothes smelling like popcorn:)

Yelp
Worst Hilton property i have ever stayed at room had mold moved to another room same situation. Asked for a late check out and was threatened to have the police called on my family and be removed from the property Jason the guy in front desk is very rude doesnt like to have to deal with complaints and threatens you by calling police so unacceptable Take your business elsewhere where they charge $320 a night for this is completely ridiculous
