The staff is exceptional at this location! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ As first time cruise-goers, we didn’t know the protocol: prior to departure the front desk team helped us print and attach our luggage tags, and upon return, they safely stowed our luggage while we enjoyed Ybor and waited for our evening flight times. They were quick with recommendations where to eat, what to do, as well as phone numbers for car services and other connections. We especially appreciated ✨KAYLA✨… ask her about her ‘character of the week!’ The location is extremely convenient, there’s so much to explore, and don’t forget to respect the roosters!

I mean the rooms could be updated, I found multiple things that are old and outdated. The bathtub was peeling something, the toilet somehow flushed it self… which seems like the pipes are old or so. This hotel could use a second elevator, because one elevator seems crowded. Service is friendly, they offered free cookies in the lobby, friendly and helpful staff members. The beds are comfortable, and the view was ay okay.👌 The gym is way too small, but they have a decently nice patio and pool area. Notice: Parking at the hotel has a fee. Water costs money unless you are a certain level or loyalty on the program. I went 3 weeks ago. Dec 21-24. There is a nice park nearby , with events and roosters. Nearby includes Ybor downtown, and little trolley carts you can take into Downtown Tampa, Cruise port, and Aquarium. The hotel is quiet, great value, friendly for kids who want to swim in the pool, or have fun.

Google
Its got a great location.... the staff was wonderful. Anna was great. But the bed was terrible. It was insanely uncomfortable. And I'm fine paying for parking 😒 but they don't even manage it so it's a 3rd party ans you can only pay online and must pay an additional service fee to pay to park in their lot which is total bullocks. But the location is excellent, and the staff is great.... but unless they do a refurbishment definitely won't be back, as my back can't take the awful beds.

Thankful for the Queen's We met in Ybor City (Originally posted on Hotels.com 2/5/25) I'm still in awe. The team at Hilton Garden Inn was nothing short of amazing. The trip was for my wife and I to celebrate her birthday. Melissa and her team went above and beyond to surprise my wife for her day. The hotel was clean, close to everything that we wanted to do, and just overall welcoming. We even have to shout out the young lady who was there with Melissa (apologies for not getting your name) for explaining the trolley system to us and the overnight attendant (called herself mama Dereon, i probably misspelled the name) for jumping in to assist with a medical situation. I recommend you stay here for the customer service alone!

Google
All the ladies working the front desk when I stayed were SO accommodating and kind! I didn’t get her name but there was a woman with red hair that was just so sweet and helpful when I first checked in and she had the most beautiful nails! Then Savannah and Leslie really made my stay even more comfortable and welcoming when I needed some help the next day! This was my first time traveling alone as a female, and they all did their part to make me feel safe and happy with my stay!! True girls girls!

Google
My general unfiltered view is this is a rip off, I’ve stayed far nicer places for much cheaper, over $300 for one night and then you get here and have to pay $30 for parking? There is few cars outside, why isn’t it included? Nothing special about these rooms or beds certainly not luxury, thought not horrible, yet they don’t have free breakfast lol. I am typically all about spending more for the convinces which is why we booked this, it was for the location proximity to our work event but there is nothing that great walking distance from here for those coming to see the city. Front desk worker was very kind and welcoming so staff review I give 5 stars the hotel and it’s policies get 1 star in my mind, I wouldn’t book here again unless it’s the last resort for staying in Tampa area.

Google
This hotel is a great option for the area. Phenomenal staff, decent rooms, and the location is very close to a lot. I used it for a cruise, and it conveniently located about a block from the streetcar station, which run right by the cruise terminals, so you can just take that in to the port if you’re cruising.

Google
Two good things: Friendly front desk staff and a comfortable bed and pillows.||In need of improvement: 1) Replace room doors that do not slam. 2) Offer included breakfast. 3) Brew stronger coffee. 4) Offer more reasonable price for a loud building with paper thin walls. My stay was not worth $220 per night. I felt like I was at an airport motel with so many guests either partying until 5:00 A.M. or screaming at each other, on both sides of my room.

Yelp
The Hilton Garden Inn was clean and located great. But more than anything the staff was amazing: Melissa, brianna, & everyone was friendly and helpful, and just simply lovely!

Yelp
Location is good, very close to many restaurants, Tampa Streetcars station which brings you down to Downtown Tampa. Located in Ybor downtown area, this offers a lot of dining and smoke shop options. For some reason, beer is cheaper than water in the downtown. Now, this hotel really can use some updating in the rooms. Lobby looks very good, but the gym is small, business room small, and it's overall a tight hotel. With maybe like 20-30 rooms per floor (4 stories), they only have one elevator , a second elevator would be nice. These rooms are very outdated, and the bathtub is old, sink faucet, and toilet can automatically flush because someone below or next to you flushed??? tf? This is good for the price and for those who want to go partying all night or need to crash out for the night. Rooms are fairly clean, occasionally you'll see a small stain on the walls, bed sheets, and fridge. These rooms can definitely be upgraded, at least repaint and don't use the sh*tty popcorn looking walls/ ceilings. Room 404, bathtub has something/ paint peeling... and the bathroom floors honestly are disgusting, they wipe it down but don't properly remove tiny stains, dirty particles. This hotel 100% had leakage in the past, a few hallways has huge water damage stains. Carpet looks somewhat new or maintained. Overall, the location of this hotel is good, the attractions nearby is good, and this hotel can use some upgrades for the future. A few things to note, a lot of food/ shops nearby. ATM inside hotel, $10 breakfast at hotel (limited options, not really worth it), small/ outdated rooms, affordable, has a pool, patio, and small gym. Parking at hotel (does cost money), 6-7 miles away from Busch Garden. Close to Streetcar station, park, and Ybor downtown.

Yelp
After checking in I found some cleaning supplies as the tile floor was sticky. The hotel was okay but loud and not the cleanest. I simply won't be staying at this location again. If you're out for a night of drinking and need a place to crash, this is perfect.

Leslie S.

Yelp
The hotel needs some updating. The staff was top notch. They were engaging, pleasant and fun. Very good experience. They deserve some recognition!

Yelp
This is my first stay at this hotel and I'm also a business traveler, so I may look for different things as opposed to someone who is on vacation. This place gets a 3 basically because of the staff. The employees are friendly and helpful! This hotel could use a coat of paint, especially in the public areas. I travel a lot so the details matter to me. One more thing, if the room has a fridge, please turn it on before the guest arrives. It's been 5 hours and my drink is still not cold . Like I said, the staff is great, will I stay at this hotel again.....idk.

Dave K.

Yelp
stayed room 215. Have stayed in less noisy rooms. AC fan was very noisy. room clean with large TV. no view, window overlooked roof. biggest drawback is no USB chargers in room (like on a light fixture) so bring a plug adaptor.

Sue H.

Yelp
Would have been five stars but the manager on duty at the time we checked in, when asked about parking, responded "read the sign." Otherwise once through him and the check in process we were good to go. Nice room, cool, dark, spacious, fridge. Perfect. It isn't a luxury hotel but for a couple of staycation days in Ybor, it is perfect. Pool outside if you want to swim. Outdoor courtyard to sit and enjoy the sun or sit underneath one of many umbrellas. Fenced in parking. Steps away from downtown Ybor. Definitely recommend.

John M.

Yelp
8/17 - 8/19 Plumbing issue, mold, saturated carpet due to leaking water line. However, they gave us $9 drink for the experience. For a brand name hotel this place was a disappointment.

Bonnie K.

Yelp
We stayed here 2 years ago and had repeated issues with the AC in the room. In FL, in September, that is an essential service. I was not contacted after departure at all. After 2 calls back to the property I gave up. Apologies were limited to a curt "so sorry" by the sweet clerk who was not the one who should have been dealing with the situation. This time, surprise, hubs booked the same hotel. There really are only 2 in walking distance from where we need to be in Ybor. 2 years later and I'm ready to give it a go. Room - directly behind elevator shaft and a gorgeous view of the back of the lobby's pitched roof. Got that changed. New room? Smallest 2 beds ever. We slept in separate beds - perhaps double beds? AC- again, this time it had to be on arctic freeze at 63 to run at all. I'm never cold but hubs was a taquito all night. Not to mention it's so loud coming on ... really. Coffee Kerrigan / nice touch. It's terrible and never enough cream/sweetener/etc in mid range hotels. Blech. Room was clean, lobby clean, has a pool, so adequate is the word. The local chickens include roosters - charming for sure. Nice way to wake up and it's cool to see. Visit La Creperia for excellent offer and breakfast it's a 5 min walk. We will try the Hampton Inn next time. Twice being less than impressed is enough with no response from Hilton after the last stay being a kicker.

Yelp
This is my first review I have ever written but I had to because this place is terrible . Got here and even though I had a reservation they couldn't find it (i had the number) they put me in a ground floor room which I requested to not be on the ground floor but they said they had no other rooms The room was dirty. Hair in the sink blood on the comforter. It was so bad I called our corporate travel and had it removed from our company hotels. All and all the worst Hilton experience I have ever had and I travel a lot.

Cindy N.

Yelp
We had a ten day cruise out of Tampa. The Hilton site said this hotel had a shuttle that would take guests to the cruise port, and the car could be left at the hotel. Also, the site said they had a restaurant. When we arrived we were first told we couldn't leave the car at the hotel! Finally, a manager came and told us we could, but for a fee. A fee was fine with us, but then they said they did not have a shuttle. Next, they said the restaurant is open sometimes, sometimes not. Not pleased, but at least they said we could leave the car for a fee. The next morning there were no cabs, Uber, or Lyft available to take us to the cruise port. Not the hotel's fault, but if they had been honest about their shuttle we would not have stayed there.

Melly C.

Yelp
This hotel is beyond disgusting. I woke up the next morning and there were bedbugs EVERYWHERE... chewed my baby up and then was told I couldn't speak to a manger and had to wait for a manager to come ON THEIR SCHEDULED TIME!!!! IF YOU COME HERE DO NOT GET 211. DO NOT GET ROOM 211!!!!!!

Damon S.

Yelp
When I have business in the area this is my 'go to' accommodation. Great location and it's Ybor so, enough said. Unfortunately my last stay was not a good one. I booked for two nights and was charged an extra night... so reservation was for two but they charged my card for three! Emailed the AGM and then had to call the hotel because I received no response. Spoke to the front desk and explained the situation and I was assured someone would call me back. Nope, never happened. Now I am in the process of disputing the charge with my corporate credit card company. Really a shame since I have given so much business to this site in the past. Beware and always check your statement at the time of checkout. I took for granted that a multiple stay customer with some history would be treated well.'

John G.

Yelp
As previously mentioned, the air conditioning situation in the rooms is lacking. We had three rooms and all were unable to get below 76 degrees even at night in December. The location is good and the people working were nice, but the upkeep of the hotel needs to be addressed, specifically with the AC. I cannot imagine staying at this hotel in the summer when things really heat up!

Nick D.

Yelp
Outside of the building and lobby was nice but I wasn't too pleased with seeing that I had a bunch fingernail clippings that weren't mine next to the bed. Unsure if this room was cleaned or the beds just made up.

Yasmine B.

Yelp
Phew found a roach in my seemingly 'clean room.' Luckily they gave me another room above as a solution. Absolutely did not want to stay not another day. Update: I'm a frequent visitor of ybor. I recently drove past the facility with my other guest at the time and they jokingly stated 'look it's the roach motel we stayed in'

Bob S.

Yelp
Really run down. Noisy paper thin walls. Really over priced and I'm in a lot of hiltons each year. Pay for parking at a HGI? 18 bucks. Staff is really nice. The only up side

Joseph A.

Yelp
Had reservation as a Hilton Honors member for several months. Arrive at the hotel to be informed that their chiller due to Tampa Electric work would be down at 7 am for 9 hours so no air conditioning. It's 98 degrees, refused refund or to waive cancellation. This is unacceptable they knew of the outage for some time as it was planned did not inform reservation holders and even created flyers for guests. In Florida in August air conditioning is not an amenity it is a necessity. Said they had a limited supply of fans but refused to hand them out until after 7 am! Will be complaining to corporate and will never stay here again. Been staying here for 18 years, such a shame it has gone so downhill, the rooms are worn and not very clean.

Dawn R.

Yelp
Definitely returning to this hotel. Historic Ybor with the Cuban vibe. Roosters and chickens free roaming, delicious food and a Trolley!

Lisa L.

Yelp
This is a nice clean hotel in a convenient location in walking distance to alot of great shops, restaurants, and bars. Jamalee (sp?) at the front desk was so welcoming and helpful! She answered so many questions and welcomed us with a smile each time we came and went! She really stands out from some of her counter parts All in all a nice place to stay.

Christina G.

Yelp
One of the least favorite hotels I've stayed in in a while. I'm generally pretty easy going when it comes to hotel rooms. I just want a place where I can sleep. Since I was here for a conference I got to see more than how they handle the rooms and I have to say in all areas I was pretty unimpressed. Room: There are mini fridges in every room. I called ahead of time to ask if there was a freezer also. The front desk told me there aren't freezers in every room, but they would make sure there was one in mine. When I got there, there wasn't a freezer in my fridge and even worse, the fridge didn't seem cold. I turned it to max and hours later I'm still uncertain whether the fridge ever got cold. In addition, the rooms were humid. I always ended up waking up feeling slightly damp and I normally don't sweat in my sleep. The room itself was fine. The beds were comfortable and I didn't have any issues with hearing my neighbors. Food: This hotel does not have a free breakfast. From what I could see in the lobby the breakfast buffet didn't seem to be worth the $10+ they were charging. We had to pay for breakfast for our conference room. Since I was on a restricted diet I can't speak to the quality of the food since I was only able to eat fruit and they didn't seem that accommodating. This would have been fine if I could bring food in, but they have a no outside food policy in the conference rooms. Conference Rooms: We had a projector snafu at the beginning of the conference. They basically guaranteed our boss that the projector would work so he didn't have to come early to test it out. Turns out, they didn't have the correct connector to be able to project his laptop. The staff had to go and buy the correct connector, which took time. We ended up having to switch around sessions and we got started late. The conference room was also freezing and it didn't lock. The staff said they turned up the temperature, but I was pretty cold the entire time. It was a noticeable difference to walk into the room from the hallway. Also, the doors were supposed to lock so we could leave our stuff in there, but they didn't. The staff confirmed the lock was broken. I do appreciate they have parking, but you have to pay for it. Also the location is neat, being walking distance from tons of restaurants and bars. I just wouldn't rush to come back to this hotel.

Kessa C.

Yelp
I would not recommend this hotel. I transferred from another hotel to this hotel. Big mistake!! The pictures are very misleading. The patio and pool areas doesn't look like the pictures everything is much smaller than it appears or it's just not there. There is a bar area but I believe it's for looks. I never saw a bartender or cocktail. The breakfast was awful. I tried the omelette with roasted potatoes. I wouldn't suggest it. The parking is pretty tight. I enjoyed area but unfortunately the hotel fail short. I stayed in room 317, there's an issue with the door it doesn't close easily so please double check before turning in for the night. The staff was pleasant and the hotel was clean.

Yelp
3 Stars for a good stay in an ideal location, but very thin walls. This is a great spot for groups wanting to enjoy Ybor nightlife. It's in the heart of Ybor, within walking distance to the great local bars and shops. I saw a couple of groups of people there for a wedding and other fun trips (more than business travelers). This leads to a bit of a noisy hotel at night as groups return to the hotel. It seemed like the walls were incredibly thin because our room was on the first floor and we could hear a lot of noise in the lobby pretty clearly. Note that there is an additional parking fee. We used the conference room for work and it was frigid, but adequate. They don't allow outside food for conferences, so we had to use their breakfast options. They weren't bad, but typical hotel breakfast food (a couple breakfast options). Overall, a good stay. Nothing extraordinary, but it worked!

Blue A.

Yelp
TLDR: It was an alright stay. ____ Here for a work conference. We took advantage of the fact they had a conference room downstairs, so it was a quick elevator ride to sessions, rather than having to walk/drive, which was nice. However the conference room left a bit to be desired. A plain Jane room. An amateur AV setup (they didn't have the right cables and had to run out to buy them, delaying our first day) and mandatory buffet for breakfast, since no outside food was allowed. The AV setup was essentially a projector and screen. In today's day and age a nice flat screen TV would be so much easier (and look so much better) in this room. Ok on to the room. The bed was comfy. Pillows were not. There was plenty of space and being on the 4th floor I didn't hear any of the roosters, thankfully. The water pressure on the sink was awful. Like really bad, barely a trickle...not sure what was wrong there. Housekeeping was good. The bar area was cool to sit at and catch up with my coworkers in the evening hours but one night an overzealous security guard was giving us a really hard time. A little adult language may have been used (there wasn't a single person in the lobby at the time) and he came over screaming "LANGUAGE!" - we all looked at each other...confused. After about 20 minutes we let out a "bullshit" in the convo and he got really upset and screamed again, "LANGUAGE". It was just a little bizarre, and uncalled for considering no one was there except us. So yeah. It's cool. Not the best. Not the worst.

Yelp
I was recently in Tampa for a work conference and our group stayed at this Hilton Garden Inn... Admittedly, I didn't have the greatest first impression of the hotel since upon check-in, I was told that "the room key machine was broken, so the maintenance man would have to escort me to my room, and I would be notified when I could get an actual key to use." The staff was not the friendliest, and the hotel itself could probably use a renovation, as it seems super outdated and a bit dingy, and the walls are pretty thin. While not a luxury accommodation, it was within budget and served it's purpose for our group. We utilized the conference room and had some tech issues off the bat, but they were addressed and fixed within a reasonable amount of time. The conference room temperature never seemed to get quite right and some of the folks in the group were shivering during our meetings. On the positive side, the wifi was consistent throughout the stay and the location of the hotel in Ybor is great for the coffee shops, restaurants, and (I'm told) some nightlife close-by. There are some chickens and roosters living in the hood too, which is kind of fun to see if you walk outside. The hotel also offers a decent fitness room, courtyard, and pool. In summary, this place is A-OK if you're just looking for a place to sleep while keeping busy offsite, but not a destination hotel by any means. Keep your expectations in check and you'll be just fine.

Yelp
I recently visited the Hilton Garden Inn in Ybor city for a quick work conference. This location was about 25 minutes from the Tampa airport and nestled in the Ybor District near plenty of coffee shops and restaurants. Super easy Uber/Lyft pick up location! Check-in was a little worrisome. I'm not sure if there was some sort of issue or if he was just overwhelmed but checking did seem to take unusually long. I think we can all agree that 15 min is a little bit longer than necessary. Once I got to my room I was surprised to see so much space. There's a closet to hang up items as needed, a sizable bathroom equipped with a nice size shower and a hairdryer per usual. In the main room there is a mini fridge as well as a Keurig coffee maker with a few coffee and tea options. I was a little miffed to see that they charged two dollars for a bottle of Nestlé water and five dollars for a bottle of Fiji water, especially being that we were visiting a Hilton (and paying the Hilton price tag). Along the wall was a TV and a great desk area for getting some work done. The view overlooking the pool was nice simply because as a Georgia girl I get excited anytime I look out the window and see palm trees! I will say that the bed was very comfortable and I got a great night's sleep, which is much needed after a long day of sessions and team outings that go well into the night. Most evenings we did take advantage of the hotel bar and relaxing patio outside. There are several tables that you can occupy and receive service from the bartender via a window...very convenient! There are also plenty of tables and couches/booths inside with service to the bar. I know I mentioned the water bottles available for purchase in the room, but I will point out that they do offer cups of ice water in the lobby sometimes flavored with lemon and/or lime. Overall it was a good stay. Would stay here again!

Yelp
Had a really wonderful time at the Hilton garden inn this past weekend! Great, smiling staff. Loved my room on the fourth floor with a view of palm Ave and the roaming chickens. Fantastic location, with close walks to all of my favorite spots. Especially loved the pool and hot tub area. So nice to get relax and catch rays right in the heart of my favorite historic district. We will be back (:

Jeanette C.

Yelp
This place is absolutely horrible they don't have any room service or housekeeping. The fridge in our room was broken and the coffee maker. I stayed here right after I had major surgery and they put me and my caregiver out after flying all the way from ca and having nowhere to go. All because I asked them to do their job and complained about bloody sheets from my surgery. I was charged additional money from basically them doing their job and not offered a refund. This place is a rip off I don't recommend anyone stay here !

Marcos C.

Yelp
Poor location, environment, staff, cleanliness. Nothing exciting or positive about my stay. On top of it all, they charge daily for SELF-PARKING working the premises of the hotel, when there's not even security around. Breakfast is $12 for cereal and bananas. Truly a terrible experience and will definitely not recommend. Look elsewhere for your needs around Tampa.

JJ G.

Yelp
The location Is key. You're within walking distance to all the hotspots in Ybor city. The hotel is above clean and staff is very friendly. I will return back to this hotel for a future stays.

Karen T.

Yelp
This review is being written by Hilton Honor members. We typically seek out Garden Inn properties as we've found them to have features and a comfort level we enjoy. Overall, we give Hilton Garden Inns a 4 Star rating. Our two-night stay at this property was different. The location is great. It's an easy 2 block walk to downtown Ybor City. The staff member checking us in went through the motions with one notable exception. He didn't disclose the parking fee. We weren't surprised by the fee. There is signage on the reception desk and also on the parking pass we were given and instructed to place on our dash. But not one word was said to us about it at check-in. In fact, we walked away and I asked my husband if he thought we were getting complimentary parking because of our HH status. We didn't know the answer to this question until check-out when we were presented a bill. Arriving at our room, my husband attempted to enter with no success. He left me standing there with our luggage, while he trekked back down to reception to have the card re-keyed. The room worked on a surface-level, tick the boxes, inventory. On the plus side, it was clean and there were plugs for charging/using items. They also had an area with a microwave, Keurig coffee maker (with supplied pods) and a mini-fridge. Our room also featured a closet with hangers and a luggage rack. On the down side, the shower pressure was wimpy, as was the power of the provided blow dryer. The pillows were insubstantial and made getting comfortable to sleep difficult. The A/C system is old. It runs VERY loud when it cycles on but doesn't seem to do so for more than 30 seconds at a time. The room did cool off but remained humid (sticky). Not pleasant and this also contributed to difficulty getting to sleep. We felt stiff and groggy each of the two mornings we woke. Upon returning to the property the first time, we discovered the entry gate off 17th St. wasn't working. I inquired at the desk, hoping there was a fix or perhaps our key card had not been programmed for entry. I was told: "Your card is fine. The sensor must not be working. Use the other entrance." There wasn't any issue we felt could be addressed and easily changed during our stay, with the possible exception of the pillows. And for that (the pillows) we honestly didn't feel like making the necessary effort. Final Assessment: This property has a great location. With some changes, it could be a great place to stay. Our visit wasn't bad but it also wasn't on par with previous experiences at Garden Inns.

Medalys S.

Yelp
What a wonderful stay! Exceeding our expectations in every aspect. Super friendly staff, extremely accommodating. The full service breakfast was an unexpected treat. Pool access and hours were excellent. Clean and spacious rooms. Walking distance from local bars and restaurants and a short drive to all the Tampa fun. We look forward to our next stay!

Will B.

Yelp
It was fine. A-ok as the Yelp review would say just above the words that I'm typing. But certainly nothing great. The things that make me go below a 3 star review are unclean and falling apart. That was definitely not the case with this Hilton Garden Inn or most of the same brand I have stayed in. The interesting thing about HGI's is that they fall in between the category of "free continental breakfast" kind of place and the "we have a mini bar" kind of place. It is like the purgatory hotel between 3 and 4 stars. So the stay was perfectly fine. But we were also there for a work conference. They forced us to buy one of their breakfast packages that were just ok. The same quality as a "free continental breakfast" place... but you have to pay for it. Powdered eggs, overcooked sausage, and frozen potatoes. But I will say, I could have still eaten my body weight in them taters! The conference room was very blah and the technology didn't work. But fear not... the chef who prepared our breakfast was also the IT guy. He actually had to go to Office Depot for a cord to make sure the projector (that we paid for) worked with a regular ole Macbook. The temperature in the room was also really wonky. I almost froze the first day and we couldn't get it regulated before the day was even over. I dressed more appropriately the next day and ended up being fine. All in all, if you are wanting to stay in Ybor City and get a good price, this is a fine place to stay. If you are looking to do a work conference here, maybe look a little bit further.

Kellie M.

Yelp
I was happy to see that we were booked at a HGI since I am a fan of the brand. Upon arrival we did have to wait a bit as there was only one person working the front desk. Once our turn came, he was friendly. My room was perfect! Cleaned well everyday. The bed was super comfy. We worked out of one of their conference rooms. It was the perfect size for our group. The beverages were stocked well and the breakfast was fine. They do have a nice bar and patio. The pool was open but we did not have a chance to use it. All in all I think it was a perfect hotel for our needs.

Yelp
Why 4 stars? Because it was an enjoyable stay with just a few kinks. --- --- --- Myself and some colleagues stayed here for a work conference, and we also co-worked in the conference room of the hotel. I'll divide up my review into two separate sections: ---HOTEL--- The good: -My room was very large, the bed was comfortable and the shower had really solid water pressure. -Free WiFi was essential for our stay. -I like to sleep with a fan for the noise, and when you turned the AC fan to high, it provided plenty of that white noise that I am used to at home. -The courtyard and pool area was very nice. -The price was very affordable, especially for one of the only two hotels in Ybor. The bad: -While the shower's water pressure was great, the temperature was weird. You had to have the lever turned almost all the way to cold side for the water to no longer be scalding hot. I'd take too hot over too cold, but it was just a weird quirk. -The rooms weren't super out of date, but they could use a bit of modernizing. ---CONFERENCE ROOM--- The good: -This was a large room for our group of 11. Last year we did this summit in a room that was about 1/5th the size, so the extra space was nice. The bad: -The thermostat in the room didn't seem to be working properly. Everyone was freezing, so I turned it up, but it didn't seem to do anything. Even at 80 degrees, we were all still cold, so we eventually just turned it off to get comfortable. -On the first day, we had issues getting our computer hooked up to the projector. Someone from the hotel had to run to the store and buy the proper cables so that we could use this, which threw our schedule off a bit. In fairness, they did wave the projector fee for this day, which was pretty overpriced to begin with. -We asked someone at the front desk to have our room locked while we were gone for lunch, but when we came back the doors had never been locked. They said they were working on getting them fixed, but the fix wasn't in on the second day either. Luckily, nothing was taken, but there was thousands of dollars worth of equipment in there, so we were fortunate. Overall, I thought the Hilton Garden Inn did a solid job at hosting us. Our budget was modest and I was happy to bring a bunch of out-of-towners to Ybor!

Yelp
As a long time Hilton Honors member, I selected the Hilton Garden Inn in Ybor City for a weekend get away. The location of the property is very convenient to the various shops, restaurants and other attractions in Ybor City. The public spaces in the hotel are very nice and appear to have been recently updated. The rooms however were not as nice. The H&V system was imposdible to control and the unit's fan started up every 20 to 30 minutes and ran very loudly for 60 to 90 seconds, often being load enough to awaken me. I am guessing that this feature was programmed as a COVID-19 control Was not able to use the hotel bar because it closed very early both evenings we were guests at the hotel. The breakfast service was good on Saturday morning with well prepared eggs, bacon and hash browns. They also had a good selection of breads, rolls, bagels, and a fantastic yogurt parfait to supplement the hot meal entrees. Unfortunately, they had no yogurt parfaits, only one flavor (vanilla) of regular yogurt and a limited selection of breads. All in all, I do not believe this visit met my expectations for a Hilton Garden Inn property.

Yelp
Awful, and now that I think about it, probably the worst experience I've had in a hotel. Long story short, we made a reservation in December for two rooms, seven people. When we checked in we were informed we only had a reservation for one room. Wrong, but whatever it was corrected in about ten minutes when the reservation was produced showing we had reserved two rooms and had already paid. Saturday morning we're told that Hilton is going to take away one of our rooms because, y'know, hotels apparently do that? (Decent ones would never dream of doing that). Hilton told us that they would compensate our second room for all of Saturday and Sunday morning. So our options are to move seven people into one room or, as Hilton told us, make a reservation with another hotel, what an absurd request! We get back home and find out that Hilton Garden Inn flat out lied to us, nothing was compensated and there were actually additional charges after we had been screwed over. I've never experienced a hotel yanking reservations and essentially telling their guests "tough s**t, deal with it." With this kind of customers service they'll be out of business rather quickly. If you have stayed here or are planning to, I would check the charges on your credit/bank accounts twice. There was nothing particularly good about this location, seek alternatives, literally any alternatives.

Yelp
Extremely underwhelming. The front desk was so rude when I went to check in. My account had my maiden name and I'm recently married. I didn't think of changing it on my account but none the less my first name is the same. They gave me such a hard time and booking online was unclear about when you'd be charged. I thought I already paid when I got confirmation info but I was charged there then I was charged again for breakfast that someone staying with me paid for in cash. The toilet paper holder broke when it was used, no one wanted to help get us ice (we stayed on the first floor where there is no ice machine) or a bottle opener from the bar. It's like everything we needed was an inconvenience to them. Oh, and never was I informed that I would be charged for parking. So I paid about $200 for one night, $15 for breakfast that used to be complementary AND I had to pay to park where I'm staying? I don't recommend this place AT ALL. Not a good experience and won't be back.

Yelp
I stayed here for a couple nights back in February. The hotel was clean and nice. Good for the price. The breakfast was complimentary for pastries and such (if I remember right) but the hot food, like omelettes, were a charge. The bar did not stay open late and was only beer and wine. Location was good and very walkable to the Ybor entertainment district. About 20 minutes from the airport. Overall a good experience for the price. We would stay again.

Yelp
DISGUSTING conditions checked in to room 133 on 6/4/21. IMMEDIATLY called front desk to advise cannot stay in this room- i have asthma - a/c broken- HORRENDOUS smell in the room - room was filthy, nasty, skeevy - NOT cleaned never mind sanitized in the age of COVID pandemic!!! I was told no refunds and cannot change rooms bc hotel was booked - ZERO customer service - huge chain like "quality suites" should have better accommodations for their guests - i am a single female- was 500 miles away from home- no other hotels had availability. i was told management (Hector) would call me sat 6/5 by 9;00asm- its now monday0 i have left SEVERAL messages with Betsy, Vanessa and joseph - and no call back. I will be reporting this hotel to the CDC, The Health Department, Consumer affairs, and hotel.com where i booked thru immediately. This is disgusting, humiliating and forget QUALITY- ZERO customer service or regard for guests DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!

Yelp
My husband and I stayed here before boarding our ship for our honeymoon and it was a perfect stay. The customer service was great. Rooms were clean. Breakfast in the morning was excellent, not to mention the location is awesome for night life. Everyone who worked here was super friendly and accommodating. It is located in downtown Ybor district. During our stay we got some inconvenient news about our ship, it was not able to pull into port due to fog. Luckily the hotel offered to let us check our bags there. Thank you all so much! We flew in from California and had no where else to go. Thanks to the hotel we were able to fully enjoy our stay in Tampa. Thank you so much :)

Yelp
This past weekend I stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn Tampa Ybor Historic District and I had a really good stay. I was coming in with a group of friends for Gasparilla and wanted to stay close to downtown Tampa and be close to the bars in Ybor! This hotel is in a great location to do about anything that you want to do. First I am going to give you my 1 and only con. This hotel is nice, but it is not worth $397 per night. This is what they jacked the price up to since it was Gasparilla and All Star Ice Hockey weekend. I do not think they should price gauge people like this especially people with Gold and Dimond Status. We checked into this hotel and they do have a private lot. The private lot is $12 per day to park your car. The hotel is very clean and safe. It is well lit as well. The hotel has 4 floors, a bar, and outdoor pool and hot tub. This is a great place to go for a weekend and explore all TPA has to offer. We ate at the hotel for breakfast and drank at the bar for drinks, all were really good. The breakfast is $10.95 for a made to order breakfast! I think this is a good deal. Breakfast was free being a Gold member with Hilton! The hotel rooms are large and spacious. We had two queen beds which was really nice. The room was a great place to relax and sleep in. This is about all we did in the room was sleep, since we had a lot of other activities. I want to tell you about something that was awesome! We went to Gasparilla and were there all day! Drinking, pirates, its a big festival. We wanted to head home and could not find an uber or taxi. After waiting for an hour we saw the Hilton Garden Ybor bus drive past. We stopped the bus and he picked us up and drove us back to the Hotel! THis was AMAZING!! I was so pleased by this! Great Customer Service!!! Great hotel in a great location and I will for sure be staying here again!!

Yelp
The best part of this hotel is the location. The service was mediocre - we had to put our own sheets on the bed! Also, they don't carry extra blankets, if you're a chilly person, be sure you bring layers. The rooms are dated and need some love and attention. Personally, I would avoid the place.

Yelp
From the front desk to our breakfast attendant the staff at this Hilton is the nicest, most helpful individuals! They are genuinely happy and personable. Front desk went out of their way for our group to get info regarding our breakfast and it was truly appreciated. While I could do without the screaming in the hallway at 3:30am by obnoxious guests, the staff more than makes up for the experience. Clean room, good location, great breakfast. Wonderful staff!!!

Yelp
Stayed for a night after returning from a cruise. Chelsea was absolutely amazing. Even after arriving so early, she happily held our bags while we waited for early check-in and explored the nearby Ybor area. When our room was ready, she let us know immediately and checked us in. The room was spacious and clean, and we were very happy to have chosen this hotel for our post-cruise stay.

Yelp
We stayed here for a couple days so my husband could work out of Tampa. I thought the rooms and bathrooms were lovely. Bright, crisp and clean. Minus one star for an ice cold pool overlooking a parking lot. Staff was friendly and accommodating, and the breakfast wasn't bad either (would have appreciated it a lot more if it were free!). I was able to hop on the (free) trolley line and bring my son to the nearby aquarium, which was lovely. Ybor has such a unique vibe, especially with all the roosters and hens casually roaming the area! Glad we stayed here versus downtown Tampa.

Yelp
I give this hotel ZERO stars. The first room they put us in for our first night, we asked for a double queens room, the beds were two full beds. I had to call the front desk and room service 5 times before we finally got a hold someone that worked there just to get towels. That also took 40 min and I had to call again to remind them. Second room we switched to which we had booked with them. They AC did not work at all, had to send someone in to fix the AC. Had to take the entire ceiling apart and made about 3 calls to ask someone to help because he had no idea what f*** he was doing. To top it all off we asked for a refund for the last room since we had an extremely uncomfortable stay and they offered us NOTHING at all. Worst hotel I have ever stayed at. I suggest to book a night anywhere else but Hilton Garden Inn.

Yelp
One of the very best hotel experiences of my career. I arrived 3 hours before check in and was greeted by Angela at the front desk who was a savior to me in many ways. She even let me change my room from a King size bed to two doubles since a friend from out of town would be joining me later. It went so smoothly and she was so kind. The cost of the deposit for incidentals was only $10 per night. A far cry from the $100 plus in Chicago's hotels. I did not check any luggage on my flight this time so I still needed to get shaving cream, tooth paste and mouthwash. When I asked Angela later after I checked in, she happily provided me with these complimentary items. The room was very clean and spacious and the wifi signal very strong. This is important in my career as a journalist. The ammeneties were were more than I could ask for. The retaurant had a great menu, there is a bar that serves beer and wine and a wonderful patio outside for relaxing and conversing. The pool and jacuzzi are also well kept. I have no complaints at all. The visit was so enjoyable that I am returning soon just for leisure. Thank you Angela.

Yelp
I've stayed here half a dozen times whenever I go to Ybor city for a night of dancing. Has a great location friendly staff with a clean pool & hot tub.
