"Housed in a building dating back to 1897 but fitted with modern amenities, this hotel features an indoor pool, spa, fitness center, an on-site Mediterranean restaurant (Imperial Terrace), and a bar with outdoor seating and views of Fort Lovrijenac and the city walls. Note: the property is closed for renovations until March 3, 2025." - Lydia Mansel Lydia Mansel Lydia Mansel is a writer with more than eight years of experience editing and writing for both brands and online publications—with a particular focus on travel, fashion, and lifestyle. "Peering out of my suite at Hilton Imperial Dubrovnik, a 19th-century hotel with views of the walled Old Town and the shimmering Adriatic just beyond, it was hard to imagine being thrilled to leave."

"They don't make hotels like this anymore, but they can still renovate them. Built in 1895, the Imperial, strategically located just outside the walls of the old city, entertained visiting royalty, plutocrats, and celebrities for nearly a hundred years. Then, following the shelling of Dubrovnik by Serbian guns in 1991, it abruptly became a refugee shelter, and remained one for a decade. Hilton reopened it on May 1, 2005. Every inch of the place has been refinished and modernized, but you can't fake those imperial proportions, from the semicircular terraces to the broad setbacks of the balconies--it is not merely big, but intimately big, however contradictory that might sound. You never feel overwhelmed; there is no sacrifice of scale to gigantism. The service is magnificent and unobtrusive. You can't, for example, obtain the same day's edition of a British or French newspaper at any newsstand in Dalmatia, but at the Imperial they will supply you with a full-size computer printout. The choice rooms are 332 and 334, which are blessed with both balconies and the most comprehensive view, taking in the whole sweep of the old city and the sea beyond it."

"Located on the doorstep of Dubrovnik's Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Hilton Imperial Dubrovnik features an indoor pool and a wellness center with saunas, a hammam, fitness and massage facilities. Set in a historic building built in 1897, the guest rooms are reflecting late 19th century charm combining it at the same time with modern technology. All the air-conditioned rooms are equipped with a flat-screen satellite TV. The private bathrooms are fitted with a bath containing an overhead shower. A wide selection of seasonal Mediterranean specialties based on local ingredients, complemented by fruity Dalmatian wines, are served at the Imperial Terrace. The spacious terrace and lounge area of the Executive Lounge offers panoramic views of the Adriatic Sea and Dubrovnik's ancient walls. Coffee, light lunches or afternoon tea can be enjoyed at Hilton Imperial Dubrovnik's lobby bar, which provides a view of Fort Lovrijenac. The Stradun Promenade can be reached within 984 feet. The Dubrovnik Old Harbor, with a tourist boat departing to the scenic island of Lokrum, is 2461 feet away. The pebbly Banje Beach, and a cable car leading to Srđ Hill, are 2789 feet away. Dubrovnik Airport is located at a distance of 12 mi and airport shuttle service can be arranged at a surcharge." - My Boutique Hotel (en)
