Secrets La Romana Resort & Spa

This was our 4th year in a row staying at this top-notch pristine resort & we'll be back again next year! Beautiful beaches, wonderful pools, lots of restaurant selections with great food, live entertainment, activities like Zumba class in ocean, yoga by the ocean, painting sunhats on the beach, paddle board, kayak, sailing. We really liked the food at every place we ate - Noor (my personal dinner favorite), breakfast at Mare or Coastal Grill, Sakura (need reservation for the chef show tables), Italian (excellent eggplant & sea bass), Chinola fun dinner on the beach, VIP lounge great heavy apps & desserts, and drinks, huge selection at the Buffet. But it's the PEOPLE who work there that make the experience so special! Each and every worker greets you with a friendly smile and endearing warm hearted gesture - the grounds crew, bartenders, housekeepers, servers, etc. They are all so courteous, respectful and eager to help, truly wonderful. A special shout-out to our Playa Collection concierge Maibely who takes outstanding care of us each year making sure our requests are fulfilled and working closely with the hotel staff to ensure our experience is amazing, thank you! We request butler Luiding Bernal each year who has become like family to us, we just love him, extremely hard-working, very professional, courteous, the absolute best! Luisa in housekeeping provided excellent room service with a huge genuine smile and greeting each day. The dinner waiters at Coastal Grill exude joy & are very fun. The waiter and servers at Noor are top notch. Jose the luggage bellhop, Alfonso in Security are great! I highly recommend this resort!

We are staying as preffered guests which has cost a lot of money to upgrade to. However the food is outstanding and we think it is really worth the upgrade. We do have to say that the preffered adults only pool is amazing and by far the best. The swim up bar is worked by a lovely and hard working team. Olga is simply the best! She is kind, makes you feel welcome and I don't think there's anything she doesn't know about making cocktails. Whatever you ask for is made freshly in front of you and nothing is too much trouble. Raul is excellent to. These people really make this holiday special for us and we can't thank them enough. Thank you Olga, Raul and your pool barside team 😊

I just got back from an eight day stay at Secrets La Romana with good friends. The overall experience was better than our stay at Secrets Punta Cana a couple of years ago. First of all the beach water is walk right in warm. And I didn’t want to ever get out. The sand is the softest I have ever encountered, like powder. However, the beach during New Year’s week was crowded and the chaise lounges were one next to the other. You had to get to the beach early to get the location you wanted, whether sun or shade, close to the water or further back. We were in a preferred room which gave us a separate area on the beach from the non-preferred room upgrade. I don’t know how crowded the other areas were. And although there’s no sampling or vaping allowed in the beach, unfortunately there are some who don’t follow rules. The food was better than we expected. Noor was our favorite. Because some of us have particular dietary restrictions, the chef came out to make sure he knew how to prepare our food. Going the extra mile reassured us that the meals were prepared to our needs. We didn’t have a bad meal the whole trip. The rooms were nice, not luxurious. It had all the amenities we needed. And, of course, we didn’t spend much time in the room other than to dress and sleep. But the best part of our vacation was our butler, Yoel Almonte. I highly recommend asking for butler service and Yoel in particular. Most importantly, he’s a really nice guy, very personable and warm. He was attentive to our needs bringing us a cooler with drinks and fruit on the beach each day, remembering what we liked and didn’t like, making dinner reservations and making sure our hotel experience was top notch. The vacation would not have been the same without Yoel.

fantastic adults-only all-inclusive resort. Secrets is set in a beautiful location and offers a perfect mix of relaxation and activity. The food was excellent, with plenty of choice and very good quality, and the service was friendly and attentive throughout our stay. We also really enjoyed the activities included in the price, such as sailing, stand up paddling, and kayaking – a great bonus that made the experience even better. A wonderful place for a relaxing and enjoyable getaway. Highly recommended.

Late in my 2025 review but already booked for 2026 says it all....6th time! Beautiful beach, no seaweed or big waves. Resort and grounds are gorgeous. Love the coffee shops and all those tempting desserts. Food was very good at restaurants and buffets. Severe celiac spouse had no gluten issues as the staff were just amazing. Carlos, Maria, head chefs, servers, maids, bar staff and specially Santa made our stay FIVE STAR. Can't wait for our next visit to see our DR family!!!

Just returned from 10 nights (non preferred)||Hotel grounds are really well maintained, workers constantly making sure it is immaculate. Our check in experience was great too. Overall, the design of the hotel makes it easy to get around without feeling your on a big resort which was exactly what we wanted. Rooms are spacious and clean, with everything you could need and more- housekeeping were great and turned down the room each evening and made sure the fridge was stocked. ||Our favourite meals were at Noor, Chinola and Mare. We also really enjoyed the Hibachi experience at Sakura, we returned to try the ala carte menu but weren’t as impressed with the food or service. We didn’t get chance to try the sushi option but would do when we return.|We used the buffet for breakfast and some lunches and it surpassed our expectations. The options are excellent- everything served to you and made fresh for you, I struggle to see how people can find faults in regard to breakfast / lunch. Loved the coffee shop for a sweet treat and drink too! There is really something for everyone at this resort.||We spent most of the day time around the infinity pool- the staff were very attentive (Amairy served us most days, she is a joy and always smiling). The pool is just beautiful and the beach is gorgeous to walk down. We enjoyed having lunch down by the bbq on the beach on both the adult and family side. The only downside we found is that the DJ is incredibly loud, we found it distracting. It’s a complete contrast from the relaxing vibe on the morning, we would prefer it to be chill at the pool. It’s worth noting that we were able to paddle board, snorkel etc with Scuba Caribe just on the beach with no extra cost due to staying here- they only required a $20 deposit for the snorkelling kit which was excellent.||We spent most evenings at the sports bar, the team are absolutely incredible. Thank you to Francisco, Ramon, Rosainna, Katherine, Elizabet and our wonderful friend Jhohan. They work tirelessly to make sure everyone has a great experience. ||Overall we would return and have already recommended this hotel to family and friends.

Very nice resort to spend relaxing days. The staff is very nice, always smiling, greeting you and helpful. The beach is very shallow and in case you did not catch a sunbed early in the morning staff will help you to set up additional ones. Wide variety of food to chose from and nice bars. Blue bar is a swimup bar in the preferred pool: I really recommend to try the tropical bay that Olga prepares, best cocktail in the pool! Olga and José make the days in the pool really special!

Nice property,nightly entertainment was OK not as good as the LaRamona Hilton which Hyatt purchased from Hilton last year. Lots of cloudy days with some real downpours it's a jungle and seems pretty wet in the winter months as well. Nice people as usually. This was our second trip to the DR and it is definately more enjoyable than say Mexico. Locals are nice and not overselling.
