We just returned from 5 days at the Hilton La Romana Family resort and it was an amazing experience. We paid the extra for the Enclave features and glad we did. The separate pool, beach and lounge options mean the entire resort is at your disposal giving you more options and areas where there are fewer people. But let me add that at no point did we ever feel any part of the resort felt crowded even though there are a lot of guests. The rooms were comfortable, all of the food options we tried were good. The Peruvian restaurant was our favorite. The staff is exceptional. There is an army of people keeping the resort very clean and running well. Everyone we encountered was very pleasant and helped us all feel welcome. We traveled with our adult children a 2-year old grandchild and my mother-in-law and La Romana was perfect for our group. Between beach time, pool time and meals, we were never bored. I highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a peaceful and enjoyable time in the DR.

We had a nice 7 day family vacation with a group ranging from age 13 to 80. The staff were so welcoming and make us all feel like we were the guests the mattered most — particularly Julianna, Santa, Emilia, Jeffrey and Yesica. Bouncing from the beach to the pools made for a great way to spend the days. There was some room for improvement for the food, modern look and feel throughout the property and rooms. At least one pool and one hot tub should stay open later at night (past 7 or 8). Finally, teens should be allowed to dine with their family on the adult side (Secrets).

My vacation at the Hilton La Romana was made even more enjoyable by the fantastic service at the bar and beach. I would especially like to highlight the bartender, Diomedy De Los Santos. Her incredibly friendly manner and warm smile made each of my visits a real highlight. Diomedy is not only an extremely competent bartender who mixes fantastic cocktails – she also has a very special feel for her guests. She was always attentive, remembered our favorite drinks, and always had a few kind words ready. Her positive attitude was contagious and created an overall relaxed and pleasant atmosphere at the bar. Diomedy's service was always quick, efficient, and always with a smile. It was clear that she is passionate about her job and truly strives to ensure guests have a great time. I highly recommend Diomedy De Los Santos to every guest at the Hilton La Romana. She is an absolute asset to this hotel and made my vacation truly unforgettable. Thank you for the excellent service, Diomedy! I very much hope to see you again on my next visit. Best regards from Vada and the family♥️♥️♥️🍹🍸

It's not worth it if you're more than 6 people; there's no reservation policy at the restaurants, which means you can wait over an hour for a table. The service is also average; half of the waiters aren't friendly. There's excessive use of plastic, which is not environmentally conscious. The rooms are very nice and pleasant, as are the pools and beach. There are plenty of activities for children.

This was our second time at the Hilton La Romana. The first time was on the adult side where we enjoyed the premium package and adored our experience. This time on the family side as a new addition joined our party of two. We also chose the premium package this time (which they now call enclave). We do not feel this package is worth it on this side of the resort. The enclave lobby is small and bathrooms aren’t functional with kids and no a/c. Public washrooms are nicer… still a beautiful resort, but not worth the hype anymore. We adored Belgica on the beach, Luis for drinks in the lounge, Cesar was so friendly doing maintenance…however many other employees don’t look like they enjoy their jobs anymore. The intentions aren’t there. They try to upsell you on everything. The attention to detail is lacking. 5 star resorts deserve 5 star service. A great example: We were sent to a room on the 2nd floor with a baby and stroller (no elevators). We kindly asked to change rooms to one on the ground floor and it was such a fuss, with some employees making us feel like the BIGGEST bother! So unfortunate for a thing that should be automatic as it is in most other 5 star resorts. As much as we love the cove beach with little to no waves and the tranquility and beauty of the resort, this will be our last time here.

We had a great time at this resort. The staff is excellent from the fitness instructors (including Yogi Barbara who was there for the week we were in town) to the porters (triple checking that we had all our bags before we headed back to the airport) to the amazing cooks, baristas (awesome coffee) and bartenders including Angel and Fernando. Order yourself a frozen mudslide or a San Francisco. Maria's staff who was running activities for both teens and adults were a highlight of the trip - Juan, Douley and Yuliana made our day and night activities so much fun. Our teens loved playing volleyball, table tennis, foosball, billiards and basketball with new friends. There are daily fitness activities in the pool (trampoline, aquabike, SUP workouts etc.) and Zumba in the ocean. Our family took advantage of the snorkels and SUPs. The water is so clear we were chasing stingrays on our boards and found lots of colorful fish to observe. Despite being sold out the resort didn't feel packed at all. On the adult side you can make reservations for teppanyaki or sushi and there are daily special lunches and cocktails on the beach. I could go on. Even the buffet was really solid - Benny/Bienvenido Blas is an excellent server. Be sure to connect with him on day 1 for the best happy service all week! Lastly, bring a bunch of singles to tip - the staff really goes above and beyond and if you are fortunate to be able to afford this resort you should show your gratitude for all of their efforts.

Our family spent 5 days here & I will start with the negatives because there were very few. I treated myself to a gel manicure & regular pedicure the day before we left and as you can see by the pics the polish came off a day and a half after getting them done. My nail tech was a lovely person and she used the curing light but the polish must not have been actual gel polish. Much of the staff is great but often we were ignored or treated with annoyance when ordering. Okay, now the positives. The resort is very clean and beautiful. Large open spaces and comfortable furnishings. Some wear & tear and rust but what you’d expect being right on the water. The waterpark was a big hit with our kids and while I prefer the ocean (or sea) I found myself enjoying their pols more than I have at other resorts. Be sure to get there early to get good lounge chairs or splurge for the over water cabana beds, they looked amazing! We tend to steer clear from buffets due to concerns on food temperature, cross contamination, cleanliness and poor quality/selection but the buffet at this resort is excellent, 4 stars! Breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the buffet were all wonderful and favorites of every member of our group. The pizza and grill options by the water were also much better than we expected. Overall we would highly recommend the resort but hope that the quality and professionalism would be more consistent.

We recently had our wedding at Hilton La Romana, and we couldn’t be more pleased with the entire experience. From start to finish, the staff went above and beyond to make our special day truly unforgettable. The service was exceptional—every team member we encountered was professional, friendly, and genuinely committed to making sure we and our guests felt welcome and cared for. The resort itself is absolutely stunning. We were blown away by the pristine beach, lush grounds, and beautifully maintained facilities. The variety and quality of dining options exceeded all expectations. From casual bites to elegant dinners, every meal was delicious, fresh, and beautifully presented. Hilton La Romana will always have a special place in our hearts. We highly recommend it to anyone planning a destination wedding—or simply looking for an unforgettable getaway!
