Hilton Lake Taupo

We had a lovely stay here! Beautiful view, great rooms! We were assisted by Andy and he really went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, he took the time to show us some sights we should see and anticipated our needs before we could even ask for help! All with a friendly smile! He really knows customer service!!

Stayed here for 2 nights in December. Nice hotel, everything you’d expect from a decent Hilton. Room was modern and good standard (we were in the “new” wing), pool area was great to sit back at the end of a long days walking - pool is kept to a nice temperature and the hot tub was great into the dusk. Has a gym but very limited (very good as a “standard hotel gym” - a treadmill, bike and rower, a bench and DBs). |Location is a quick 10min drive or a solid 50 mins walk to the town. We walked mostly and it isn’t arduous .. and is nice along the lake front. |Overall very happy we chose here!

My kids are still talking about this hotel a month after we got back. It's a gorgeous property, quiet with great views of a canyon park and city/lake. The rooms are clean, large and feel luxurious, and everything was in great condition. I debated because the hotel is a bit outside of town and a bit pricier than some other choices, but it was excellent value for money and I highly recommend it. The rooms are large and have lots of room to spread out, balconies and work if some folks are sleeping. Breakfast - one of the best I've had (fresh made eggs / full selection of breakfast meat and sweets / large selection of fruit and juice / fresh honey, condiments and baked goods / coffee of all types / etc. Plenty of free and safe parking. Friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are bright and property doesn't feel crowded. We thoroughly enjoyed the pool and hot tub area (large, well-maintained). This is definitely our family's new standard for a "fancy hotel" - but it felt warm, fun and will be hard to beat. (Being a little outside of town was great too - I walked down one day and it's not all that far, but it feels like a resort up on this hill.)

The older part of the hotel is very pretty from the outside. With plenty of free parking. Or you had the choice to pay for the secure indoor pay. We had a very warm welcome from the reception team. Our room was very nice and a lovely size and had everything we needed. It had a side view of the swimming pool and gym. Sadly the weather turned a bit cold so we didn't use the pool. We used the room service for our evening meal, but did not have breakfast. |If we are Lucy enough to come back to New Zealand, we would definitely stay here.

Great spacious 2 bedroom apartment, with lake view in the distance. Large balcony.comfortable beds. Location: you will need a car to reach the town area. We had an issue with the food quality and service at the restaurant, our package is inclusive of the breakfast. However there seems to be confusion amongst the staff, what is included in the package. Some tried to charge us for coffee. There was only 1 waitress for the whole restaurant and 1 manager. So obviously they were super busy and service was very slow. The I ordered the waffle, it was dry, hard and burnt in some parts. There are better cafes in town, safe your money and go there instead. On the upside the pool is nice and warm.

Great location with a view of the lake in the distance. We stayed in a lakeside room in the older part of the hotel and it was great with a large private balcony. It was a simple but clean room. They staff was friendly and also provided very affordable mountain bike rentals. Overall we had a great experience, but I think it was a touch overpriced.

Gorgeous, spacious suite, with all of the extras! Lovely pool and super Hot spa. Delicious food at Bistro Lago. We loved the Christmas Day Feast there! We utilised room service, and the mini-bar. Undercover, secure parking was great. Grounds were beautifully presented. Staff were exceptional and extremely helpful. Wish we could have stayed longer. Such a gorgeous location too. I loved that I could have my early morning swims and a spa on my own before any other guests woke up and came down! Lake Taupo was heaven! The whole town was cute, friendly and the lake was beautiful. Cool waters, and hot, hot, hot under the sand! Just amazing!

We have been regulars for 11 years but the last two stays have been terrible New Years and Valentines Firstly try and get your room serviced New Year multiples calls finally at 7.30pm we had our room Serviced Valentines the same room serviced after 7.30pm service at reception is not good 😐 Best part of this hotel is Bistro Lago amazing food and service Check your credit card we were over charged at New Year and hold left on card after Vaentines called to sort out very rude service 6 nights in total over 2 stays in one bedroom apartment. Sad to say we will not be coming back after the last two visits
