On the Grid : Centre Pit

"In 2009, a downtown city block was razed to make room for a 35-story high-rise, mixed-used monstrosity. Seven years and countless architects later, this block is now a pit in the center of the city. You will not be able to miss the blasted out crevice – it’s a Lexington landmark." - Bullhorn

Perfect location. The rooms were great! If you're staying here for the roop center it's literally connected to the hotel! Room. Service was so good! The Starbucks downstairs had ready-made food so don't plan on eating there. It wasn't an average Starbucks. Pay to park daily as well but worth that. The pool is small in the hot tub is small

Hotel is old has not been updated. For the prices nothing nice or comfortable. My room had things broken but the biggest issue the rooms smell like standing water in fact it became nauseating. I asked a work associate ... he said the same thing. Bar was dirty food was questionable. Went down for coffee the outdoor space was full of dirty dishes from the day/night before. The hotel room is spacious but dated and very dark. Normally the beds are outstanding not here old mattresses. I should have stayed 2 blocks down at the Marriott Residence it's new beautiful bar and rooftop swiming pool. I might add it's near the Hospital all night you hear sirens. Use the other choices in Lexington.

I have had THE best experience at the Hilton Lexington Downtown in Lexington,KY! From checking in, hanging at the bar, even speaking with the valet attendant the service has been amazing. But what really has separated this experience from other hotels is the genuine hospitality the staff exemplifies. I want to give a extra shout out to Robert, Kelsey and Jay. They made our stay awesome. They are incredible kind and go the extra mile for their guest.

I was very nervous staying here because the reviews were either awful or wonderful. I picked this hotel because my husband is a Hilton member and they have an airport shuttle. Our plane didn't land till 10 pm and really didn't want to rent a car at that hour. When I did call, I was assured that we'd be happy with the room and if not, we could switch rooms. We were arriving late and really did not want to have to switch. Also, I have allergies with feather pillows and they made sure the room was feather free.||I called the hotel when we arrived and shuttle arrived within a very reasonable time. We checked in and the room was clean, smelled fresh and A/C was working just fine. The bed was really really comfortable. ||The next morning we took a shuttle back to the airport and it was easy and comfortable.

The first room I was in the door was broken and I didn’t feel safe staying there so I asked to be moved. All the female receptionists I interacted with during the whole stay were rude and had a big attitude for no reason. Housekeeping was the only nicest and most pleasant people thanks to Isabella. The fire alarm was hanging off the wall in the second room, that is a hazard and I reported it. Someone came to look at it and tried to fix but he couldn’t so they said it will be fixed first thing in the morning. This happened in my first night I was there for 4-5 days and no one came. I did call again by the 3rd day and even went to the reception to inform them and still nothing. The shower pressure was HORRIBLE the water kept going off for a couple seconds then back. There was a toothpaste on the wall in the bathroom god knows from when and it was never cleaned before I got there and will probably never be cleaned. I have never been this stressed and just eager to leave a hotel in my life.

I’d like to first start off by saying myself and my husband are Hilton Diamond Platinum members. I’m not one to typically write reviews but this one is warranted. Prior to leaving this review…I flipped through several reviews and lo and behold this issue has been going on since 2022, potentially before. Same issue same situation where they schedule “help” to appease you, then never show up to do so. I just visited this location due to an annual meeting for the company I work for. There were likely over 300 rooms rented by the company. At the very most, only half of us had ac, I was not included in that half. |Every time a call was made they’d promise maintenance and a fan. No one ever showed. They gave the run around to all of us for an ENTIRE WEEK. Thermo said 60 and it got upwards of 79 degrees in my room plus humidity. If this situation has been going on for 3-4 years and the reviews are very similar to that of mine… why isn’t it being addressed? It’s as if they’re trained what to say for an ac issue “yes we will send someone right up for the ac” “oh no! That’s terrible. Sending a fan now!” And nothing. Absolutely the worst experience we’ve had at a Hilton hotel

There are really three basic things you want in a hotel room, if it fulfills these three functions it's a 3 star: Cleanliness, Comfort, Function. This hotel exceeded at cleanliness in the room, it was clean. No bugs or gross stuff. Comfort... It had the hardest chairs and beds I have ever slept on. Might as well slept on the floor. And finally Function. Can you live out of this for a day or two? Well the shower has almost no water pressure so don't expect to get clean and if you try the water will literally only go from boiling hot to ice cold. I tried for 25 minutes to find the middle, you can literally hear it completely turn of the hot or cold before the other turns on. In short don't stay here. Don't book a conference here. You're not going to sleep well, you're not going to try to shower after the first scalding attempt. Also for those among us who wash our hands the faucet was so loose it would shake when the water was on.

Google
Location was the best part of the experience here. The rooms was clean, but need some TLC. There was chipped paint and broken hinges on the cabinet doors. But the biggest disappointment was the staff.. the first day the system was down and we couldn't add tax exempt.. so we tried at checkout, but the staff didn't know how to do it. So we had to wait 30mins while the manager basically trained staff to fix it. And the staff seemed just as frustrated.

Yelp
My wife was pregnant and this gracious young man named Robert G. And the staff that helped him get my wife ice cream. I'm forever grateful for his help! I will never stay anywhere in Lexington agin as long as Robert is working at this Hilton and gets a significant raise! I cover Kentucky, Ohio, Michigan, and Indiana. I have never experienced better service from Jackie and Robert G in all my stays. Thank you for all your help 5 stars!

Yelp
We needed a room for overnight stay for a medical visit We checked in an the lady behind the desk was great Im not good with names But she was a great help She went out of her way to see we got what we needed The room was extremely clean The bed was really comfortable and great shower we been wanting to spend the weekend in Lexington because we are always here for medical An when we do I will definitely choose here
google avatar

John M.

Yelp
The staff is nice enough. I don't know about the price because the company pays. Temperature. I'd love to meet the salesman who sold them a system that requires a maintenance person to switch individual rooms from cold to hot. Freezing cold in the room when I arrived. Turned the temp up, and up and up. Still blowing cold. Call the front desk and they send someone to "fix" it.

Yelp
At first glance this looks like a good typical Hilton, but there were a lot of overlooked things that made me feel the hotel was a fail compared to typical Hilton standards. First, the room was very dark and even with all the lights available it was dark Second, on day one I needed to change the toilet paper roll. Now I am not that privileged to think I am above changing a roll of tp, but it did give me pause. I don't think I have ever changed a roll after checking in. Was housekeeping even there? After dinner that night, I went to put my leftovers in the fridge, I found other smelly leftovers. Again I questioned housekeeping standards. I went the next morning to their wonderful gym. The equipment looked great, except it's next to the hot tub and the gym was humid without air conditioning. I couldn't stay long. That night we found blood on the wall. Initial looks can be deceiving and I now know the Hilton name guarantees nothing.

EM B.

Yelp
I liked the hotel. Beautiful lobby , great bar and restaurant , nice gym, comfortable rooms and super staff. My only complaint is the temperature regulation in rooms. Despite trying to get heat, the fans blew cold air. Other than that, everything was up to my expectations.

M P.

Yelp
Paying over $350 for a room and then they charge me a $50 early checkin fee for a room that is already ready. That is extremely poor customer service. Lost a Hilton member - next time we stay at a Marriott.
google avatar

Tim R.

Yelp
Great location. Very pricey which is what I would expect. However the employees at the front desk rude. I normally stay at Marriott because with their rewards you get a late checkout at no charge. As a Hilton honors member you get nothing but rudeness at the front desk. I can say I will only stay and a Hilton if it's my last resort I will drive miles to stay at a Marriott they have never ever been rude they make you feel like a customer. Not at Hilton an overpriced place that treats you like we got your money so screw you. So if you want customer service go to Marriott and if you want to be treated like a number stay here.

Yelp
I was a little worried to stay here with some of the negative reviews, but had a pleasant experience. The location is great in downtown Lexington, with everything in walking distance and Rupp Arena right across the street. The public areas are a little dated, but clean enough, and the room was nice. Bed was comfortable, though the ice machine on my floor was broken so I had to go to another floor. Gym was nice too, they had a pool / hot tub but the pool was pretty small. Self-parking in attached garage, I think it's $15 / night, but convenient. Had buffet breakfast in the hotel, good but not great. Service was OK throughout, though a bit on Southern time.

Vince V.

Yelp
Be advised, this hotel does not have heat. The outside temperature was 40 degrees F and in my room, it was 54 degrees F. The front desk told me it was because "they" don't have the boilers turned on. How does this hotel even qualify for the Hilton brand?

Sandoval A.

Yelp
This hotel is supposed to be one of the "best" hotels in Lexington. Unfortunately our experience wasn't so great. The Holloway smelled like wet basement or mold as soon as you got off the elevator & once we got to our room it was worst. The room as well as the bathroom had black stains on the ceiling. It was horrible! We also had our baby with us, we didn't want him breathing that nasty smell we ended up canceling the rest of our nights here when we told the front desk why we were cancelling they did nothing about it or didn't care he just checked us out & was very rude. We moved to the Hyatt down the street & it was wayyyyy better!! Service was great & rooms were very clean I would recommend that hotel instead if you're looking to visit Ky.

Yelp
The Hilton downtown met all my needs for my two night stay. When you arrive there's a nice bar to enjoy a drink or late night snack. Food closes at 10pm kind of early for a Monday. Rooms were clean and had breakfast the next morning.

Lynn K.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed here three nights. My sister-in-law and other relatives also stayed here, as we were in town for a wedding. I liked the convenient downtown location. We were able to take a walking tour of nearby historic homes in the Gratz Park neighborhood. We were able to walk to restaurants and a liquor store. The neighborhood felt safe. The hotel was a good place for a family get together. There was a nice bar where we sat both indoors and outdoors. We had several decent breakfasts at the hotel's restaurant the Triangle Grille. We did not try the breakfast snack bar. The hotel provided a private dining room for the morning after the wedding. We could get a breakfast from the restaurant, the snack bar or wherever and bring it into the private dining room for a group breakfast. The adjoining parking garage was convenient. We tried to drop off our room keys as we exited the hotel upon checkout, but could not locate the drop-off bin. You need your room key to enter and exit the parking garage.

Leah F.

Yelp
Great location and the staff was friendly but the elevators were broken. Only had one the first day and then only 2 the other 2 days. The breakfast at the Triangle grill was awful, especially for how much it cost. Service was really slow and they didn't seem to care how long you wait for a drink. The room was ok but didn't look very clean. For the money it cost I expected much better.
google avatar

Traci V.

Yelp
This hotel was just ok, it is in a decent location downtown where you can walk to different bars and restaurants. However, the lobby had a weird smell, the room was average but the paint on the door in the bathroom was peeling and the water pressure was almost nothing, very hard to take a shower with minimal water. No breakfast is included and for the price you think at least a continental breakfast would be included. Overall the experience was meh and would probably choose a different hotel if ever going to downtown Lexington, KY again.

Yelp
I stay in a lot of hotels in various price ranges. I'm currently in this Hilton and it is the worst I have experienced in a long time. Rooms are worn out, heat is noisy, bath room showers spray improperly , toilet won't flush properly and takes a long time to refill. Room looks clean on the surface, but it is actually dirty. I have asked for these things to be corrected twice at the front desk, but the problems still exist. I have even reported these problems to the executive office and they still have not been corrected.

Yelp
I stayed here for 4 nights for a technical conference. Although I'm more of a Marriott fan, this hotel is in a good location that's an easy walk to lots of restaurants. Looking for a pharmacy or a big store like Walmart or Kroger is over a mile away. Rooms were comfy and amenities were good, so 4 stars. Likes * Beds were soft and comfy - slept soundly all 4 nights * Fitness center is clean, well-ventilated, and has lots of Precor machines, cable machines, cardio equipment, and dumbbells. They have an indoor pool too. * Good-sized meeting facilities * Decent catering for dinner - amazing fried catfish, risotto, fresh and crispy green beans, and amazing chocolate cake! * Good water pressure in the shower, with Crabtree and Evelyn products Dislikes * Wifi is free here but I found it spotty and unreliable * We had occasional audio/power problems one day in Grand Ballroom D that sorta threw our agenda off track. It was eventually fixed. * Toilet in the room flushes slowly

Yelp
We were at this hotel for less than 24 hours for a wedding but we really enjoyed our stay here. A nice room with plenty of space, comfortable bed, and a great exercise room. The lobby was pretty and there were great photos throughout the hotel. And the location was great for local restaurants and businesses. It was a little rough at first getting to the hotel because there was a basketball game that night but the folks at the garage helped us find the right place to park. Overall great service. Only downside was when the housekeeping staff came 15 minutes before checkout time to ask when we were leaving. Seriously. They could have waited. Felt like we were an inconvenience to them.

Yelp
Clean rooms. Not accessible to low cost eating establishments. Buffet in restaurant costs $19.00 and was disappointing. I walked out. No business center to access computer. Not a good fit for me and my needs.

Yelp
This past weekend, my wife and I had to travel to Lexington, KY for a family wedding. We arrived just a couple of minutes before 1:00 PM and were told that if we wanted to check in (which we had no choice but to do so to get ready for the wedding) we had to pay an additional $50 for an early check in. I'm a Lifetime Diamond Member and have been loyal to the Hilton family of properties for my entire career and this is the first time I've ever been charged for an early check in. I've heard of and have paid for a late check out, and Diamond Members can get a late check out up to 2:00 PM, but never an early check in??? I tried to contact the Diamond Desk but Hilton no longer has that service...so did a chat....twice. The guy yesterday said he had technical difficulties and today got someone who said basically it is what it is. A word to the wise, IF you plan on staying here and are getting in before their normal check in time, which I believe is 4:00 PM, be prepared to pay the $50 early check in fee. Or, I hear there's a nice Marriott nearby. That may be the better option. Just saying.....

Yelp
We are here in town for a KISS Concert. Staying at the HIlton and decided to eat in their resturant. Wow they sit us immediately, absolutely great service, sit us with a great view of Triangle Park. My wife and I both had water to drink with little something on the side. Preparation for the concert following our dinner. I had the chicken club with avocado and with sweet potato fries and my wife had grilled chicken entree with grilled vegetables and rice. My food was very good but my wife's chicken was great but the rice and vegetables were not cooked well enough not soft. The service was the best part of the meal. Lacks the fifth star due to the vegetables not being cooked until soft.

Yelp
Do not stay here, it is not safe. people are getting shot close by and the employees don't care.

Yelp
I understand why this Hilton only has 3 stars. It really needs updating. It's in a convenient location to the convention center but can not handle a large group. The elevators broke down every day. I should have called about the air conditioner but didn't. The young lady at front desk said they could have brought a fan or turn it so it's blowing all the time.

Tami W.

Yelp
I stayed at this location for an event and though it had a convenient location guest services was below average. Restaurant bar, and room service would close early without informing the guests so many of us weren't able to have dinner for the evening even though we had confirmed with the front desk attendant it was open until 10pm, called multiple times to get more coffee and cups for our room which was never delivered, there was no water pressure so taking a shower was difficult since the only source was water trickling out of the faucet, front desk would not print out receipts so we could keep for our records, and the radio in the lobby was not working correctly so their was a fuzzy noise getting blasted which was extremely annoying and uncomfortable.

D S.

Yelp
warm moist rooms, toilets don't work, help in short supply.

Ethan A.

Yelp
I bought a room at this hotel so that I could spend the night with my friends in Lexington. I couldn't even get a second of relaxation in before security harassed my friend repeatedly asking for his room key and after he saw it he rudely demanded that we go to the front desk so they could check if we were "lying". After that he told us that we just weren't allowed to wonder about the hotel, and when we asked why he said, "because I said so". Do not stay here the staff is rude and disrespectful and the rooms are mediocre at best
google avatar

Yelp
This is the hotel that we stayed at every year during the Keeneland Racing meet. I've also stayed at the Hilton in Napa. The Embassy suites in Deerfield beach host a meeting to about 100 guests of mine. These chains are terrible steer clear of this hotel chain. They need a lot of work for customer service and for cleanliness. When I showed this Hilton downtown Lexington, the shower, they gave me two free bottles of water. What a joke!

Yelp
Pros: Good location near lots of restaurants and bars, restaurant and bar on site, free parking for Diamond Members (if you can get a spot), across the street from a Starbucks, executive lounge available, good breakfast options, pool, fitness center. Cons: Dated and needs a renovation, bathroom was oddly spaced (could barely get in because the door almost touched the toilet so I had to squeeze around the door to get to the shower), thin walls (I could hear every conversation the people around me were having), weird stain on carpet right in the middle of the room (photo), cracks in the walls, sink in bathroom kept getting clogged so the water would sit in it for awhile until it finally drained, there were a couple gnats in the room that drove me crazy, the in room dining menu is apparently a channel on the tv (channel 2) but the only thing on channel 2 was a nonstop Hilton promo video so I called down to the restaurant but the woman who answered was not helpful. The staff was fine, but for a Hilton, I expected more.
google avatar

Michael M.

Yelp
Realistically this place deserves about 3.5 stars. The rooms are very nicely appointed, and the views can be spectacular, depending on which side of the building you're on. The rooms are clean, the location is awesome and the staff is pretty friendly. My chief complaints however are the fact that the restaurant is so expensive, and if you're on the business level where you get the free breakfast, it's rather limited. The Executive lounge is ok, but I expected a nicer one given the appearance of the rooms. The wi-fi is painfully slow, and since I stay here on business, I need better speeds. There is a bar in addition to the restaurant. I will likely stay again, but I may check out other hotels.

Jaz K.

Yelp
Was absolutely disgusting I felt so dirty after staying here. We found dead cockroaches in the bathroom and under the chair near the bed we didn't sleep with any covers because it was that gross. If we didn't get back so late we would have found a new hotel. The pillow cases were disgusting looked as if they had not been washed. Spent a great amount just to stay here thinking it would be a cleaner hotel but was wrong before settling in your room look on the carpet make sure there isn't any dead bugs and that your sheets/ pillow cases are clean... pretty disappointing for a Hilton hotel.

Yelp
Great rooms on the Executive levels 16 & 17. Large clean modern rooms an bathrooms, breakfast usually w scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits & gravey an other assorted item breads. i booked last min an only 2 rooms opens, took 1605 as it had a view. well, the only problem w 1605, is it is under the executive lounge eating area, so in the AM an PM you hear chairs an tables scraping...... so stay away from 1605!!!!

Yelp
Having stayed here on two previous occasions, I like this property. I like the app which enables online check in and checkout, as well as a digital key which enables me to unlock my room door with my iPhone! Most of the staffers are friendly and helpful. The front desk is very helpful, friendly, and eager to make your stay a great experience. One of the staff that brought a mini fridge to our room had a poor attitude and basically dropped the thing from about 2 feet onto the floor! I remarked "wow, does it still work?" He never looked back or said anything so I put my $5 tip back into my pocket. I also encountered a weird experience at the bar where none of the staff seemed to care to acknowledge my presence or wait on me. I stood at the bar, made eye contact with at least two workers but no one seems to have been able to see me. I guess I was invisible!! Didn't realize I'd lost THAT much weight, LOL! The saving grace for this visit was obviously the front desk staff, and the awesome staff in the restaurant! Our servers Mark, and Mary and a couple others were above and beyond!! The food you may ask? The food was first class!! The World Famous Avis Omelettes are to die for!! Ms. Avis makes your omelette to order with super fresh ingredients and her magic ingredient love! Ms. Avis prepares her eggs with joy and a skill that you don't learn from anything but experience! The fresh hot buffet, fruit bar, and cold bar along with the presentation, make breakfast a joyful way to start your day!

Yelp
Hotel is very dated, our double room smelled old/wet. Housekeeping missed a lot of cleaning in the room. There was spider webs, hair in the shower and dust in the drawers. They didn't have a microwave nor extra cups for coffee nor any utensils i.e. napkins. However, there was great customer service our waitress Kait was on point and the bartender was kind enough to share a cherry recipe for Manhattan.

Yelp
Nice hotel. We stayed there for a convention. And the rooms were clean, the food they provided was really good and the hotel staff was very attentive and nice

Yelp
We are Diamond members and have stayed all around the world at Hilton and have stayed at this location on and off for the past decade. As season tickets holder to Kentucky basketball, this location is very convenient. That is about it. I've had it with this place after tonight. They are under going a remodel. They seem like it is always under remodel. This place is a dump. Walk in last night to the room and the fire alarm is literally hanging by wires from the wall, go to the bar and put my foot on the foot rail and the brackets are broken off, so when you step on the rail it flips up and then bangs on the ground. The only reason we are in the bar is the executive lounge is closed and they had to give us coupons to the bar to make up for it. While driving down, we joked that there was no way that the hot tub would be working. Guess what it was not. Literally it has worked once in the past five years. This place sucks. I am not sure how the keep their Hilton designation. Other than the location and we get Hilton Honors points it is not worth staying here. Some of our family members have giving up and just decided to walk the couple of blocks and stay that the 21C. There is a new Marriott down the block. Next game we go to we will be checking one of those out.

Yelp
I cannot believe this is a Hilton. Arrived late Monday night. Tuesday morning - shower is lukewarm to cold. Called the front desk, they were sending someone up to fix it after 7. Engineer came up again Tuesday evening because it still wasn't hot. Wednesday morning - get in the shower, hot water, lasted 45 seconds. Called again - told them to move my room. They said they were full. I said move me. Get a call from them at 11 am - we have moved you. Great. Thursday morning -new room. Same deal. No hot water. Called again, and visited the front desk to share my displeasure. They assure me they will fix it and comp me two night. Just now. Friday morning, checking out today. Get in the shower. NO HOT WATER! AVOID THIS PLACE!!! Client asked us why we were staying in the crappiest hotel in Lexington. Never again.

Olivia F.

Yelp
When I first got here I thought it was nice...boy was I wrong. The bathroom is so small only one person can fit in it so I do not recommend waking up late because you will not be anywhere on time. When I woke up I found BED BUGS in my bed. I will be checking all beds everywhere now because of this awful experience. All they did for it was spray my room and give me clean sheets. They didn't offer any discount or for me to move rooms. Running late in the morning...don't expect to get anything here because there is no breakfast. It is convenient because it is close to Rupp Arena but that is the only reason why I'd stay here.

Yelp
I recently stayed here for a professional conference. On the very positive side, the staff here is first rate, very friendly and generally willing to problem solve for you. My room was clean and made up well enough and the bathroom had the usual amenities. On the downside this property is pretty shopworn and in need of a refit. In general its really showing its age, my mattress was in need of replacement, and generally the place seemed past its use by date. Some of my fellow conference goers had issues with no hot water (BTW, when you don't get hot water in your room for more than 12 hours, you should not have to pay for that night IMHO, but that is not the policy in this hotel) and the heater/A/C in my room made a clunking banging noise whenever it came on. Don't expect the usual high standards at this location.
google avatar

Kara M.

Yelp
This is not what I expect from a Hilton. The room size and layout was fine, but everything was old: there was a rip in my lampshade, there were scratches and stains in the tub, and everything felt dark and sad. The hotel desperately needs an update. When I first got to the room, there was a rollaway bed folded up and hanging out in the middle of the room (which they promptly removed when I called down). I was also pretty disappointed with the cleanliness: on both nights I was there, different neighbors left pizza boxes in the hallway in the evening which were still there the next day. The location was excellent, and the airport shuttle driver was super friendly and helpful.

Yelp
The location is great and lots to do downtown and the hotel bar was great. But don't expect to check in until 4, which is the latest I've ever had to check in. Once we got to our room, the tv didn't work, and the lamps filckered to the point that you couldn't keep them on. The tv didn't work at all on any channel and the volume didn't work. We found a sock under the side bed table, the decor of the rooms is very outdated. And the wallpaper was torn, and had white marks close to the ceiling almost like drywall marks, and dust on the walls. The bathroom was ok just no counter space. Also the AC/ heat didn't work at all. I won't stay here again and I frequent Lexington a lot. Kinda of put a damper on our anniversary weekend and first time away from our kids.

Yelp
For some reason this hotel has "Hilton" on it, but I won't refer to it as such as it seems more fitting to be called a "Motel 6." Rooms are small, cramped and don't contain mini-fridges. When you do request a fridge they give you one for free and you can tell why. The fridge we received had to be atleast 15 years old and looked as if they pulled it out of a dumpster after someone beat it to death with a sledge hammer for never working! Outlets are slim and in odd places in rooms. Same with the main lobby. You'd think they have the sense to not put outlets 6 feet away from the lounge chairs, but NOPE. A lot of things within this place like faucets and furniture seem to be outdated as well. There's a business center and bathroom in the lobby as well as a skyway for easy access to the food court across the street. The bathroom is useful for those with multiple people staying in one room. The courtyard kinda starts opening around 10am, but the restaurants don't receive much business so even if they are supposed to be open chances are it's unlikely you'll find an employee working the register or the steel gates opened at all. Overall, unless the suites are much better, I would skip this place in favor of a better quality hotel.

Yelp
I've always like this hotel in the past, but not this time. Staff was overall unfriendly, unhelpful, and treated guests more as an inconvenience. Bogus Covid rules being used as an excuse for poor customer service. The man at the front desk was not friendly or welcoming and made us wait 30 minutes for our room until exactly 4pm like there wasn't a single room cleaned already in a hotel of 18 or so floors. I tried calling the front desk to ask a question three times with NO answer. Later that night I ordered door dash bc they have no room service now either, and evidently the lady at the front desk would not allow them to bring my food up to my room and made her leave my food (over 50 dollars worth) just sitting on a random table in the lobby where anyone could take it or touch it. The lady at the front desk told the driver she would notify me but she did not even bother. I waited probably 10 minutes extra thinking she was parking and bringing it up. i had to call the front desk, immediately get placed on hold, and then finally enquire about my food to figure out what was going on. Keep in mind this is a hotel and bar bustling with people on a UK game day, but this woman decided the one door dash driver wearing a mask that I had tipped over 10 dollars to bring my food to me was the biggest threat to everyone's health and safety. I could not be more aggravated with this place. I'd have stayed at a cheap, crap motel if I had wanted this kind of experience. It will be my last stay. Next time I'll choose the Hyatt across the street or 21C.

Yelp
Have been coming to fire school for a few years and always pleased with the Hilton but this year not so much... my boyfriend and I are diamond members well what good is it to be a diamond members if everyone gets the same thing diamond members get... the executive lounge on the 17th floor was a joke this year.. most of the time this is the way the drink refrigerator stayed empty.. and no snacks unless you wanted stall trail mix.. the restaurant waiter/waitress would more or less tell you to get the bar which each more after I was done I got sick.. I'm guessing they had more important things to do instead of waiting on their tables.. not happy with this hotel at all this year..

Yelp
We were on the 16th concierge floor. I did enjoy free breakfast, free snacks, free drinks and free deserts. The room was nice and the bed comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. We had one little problem--AIR CONDITIONING!!! The only time the room wasn't warm was when it rained. No frig No microwave Coffee maker in the room. Bring your own hair dryer. The hair dryer in the room plugs into the wall but you would think it runs on batteries. Be prepared to walk a good stretch from the parking garage. IF YOU ARE GOING TO THE CONVENTION CENTER, TAKE A COAT!!! The convention center is ridiculously cold. Attendees had jackets and blankets! It was absolutely awful. I never, ever, ever want to go back to the downtown Lexington Convention Center EVER!!!!!

Yelp
It was a great location for a convention downtown. There were tunnels to the Rupp Auditorium and we were thankful because the temperatures were in the high 90s. Our room was very stuffy but better after we aired it a bit. Found the room clean. Bathrooms small but comfortable. Good bed with good sheets. Enough room for our tastes-as room was quite spacious. The downside was the elevators. I felt sad for the staff trying to figure out how to help people when there was only one operating elevator. An older gentleman took us to the warehouse elevator and he told us he worked 14 hours. It was terrible to have only 1/4 elevators when there was 6000 people at a convention, stopping us from getting to our meetings on time. We saw people trying to fix the elevators without success but we have had the same experience in hotels in other cities in the last 3 months. Because of the pandemic, they are not finding people to fix elevators. We were treated very kindly by the people at the desk. When my husband, who was surprised there was no business center for their customers, asked the desk attendant to copy something, the lady willingly and freely copied a 20 page document for him. I was treated very kindly in the bar as well as at the café. There are several restaurants in walking distance. We enjoyed Pints & Pizza and Agave & Rye.

Yelp
Stayed a night with my mom and she LOVED it. Inside pool, great location, comfie beds, It was a large elegant Hilton. looked like it was pretty new or at least well maintained, close to restaurants and shops, One of the best hotel buffet breakfasts I've ever had. We asked for a room high up and quiet. We stayed on the 1529 .. high up enough the street sounds not a problem and far form the elevator and ice machine. My husband is a diamond rewards so they upgraded us and gave us both free breakfast vouchers. Which I gather was worth 35 dollars. I highly recommend this hotel if you are staying in Lexington. My only complaints with our stay was the hotel room didn't get cool enough .. it was set at 60 but it sooo wasn't cool in there so that was uncomfortable, the bathroom was very small and no fan. I feel this is a safe area .. great location if your in town. Will consider it for girl getaways.

Yelp
this hotel is definitely decent. they are clean but the hallways when you walk in from parking can get dirty quick. i feel like there's an old vibe to the hotel like it needs an update but it's okay. the rooms are nice and we haven't had any issues. there are no microwaves, and the mini fridge is MINI so just fit a few little things in there. the view from the top was amazing though.

Yelp
Tiny, TINY bathroom. Water pressure isn't the best. Neither is the wifi signal (I'm on the 13th) Great downtown location, walking distance to shops, restaurants, convention center, opera house.. Etc. In hotel martini bar has happy hour 4-6 during the week.. And restaurant food is not too shabby. Comfy beds- though the room smelled a little musty. :(

Yelp
For the price we paid to stay we got an awful room with mold on shower curtain, yellow ring in toilet, no fridge, no microwave, air conditioner didn't work well. Just not a great experience for $200! Next time we will stay at 21c

Yelp
I frequently stay in Hilton properties and this one is exceptional. It is very well run, with staff who are professional and courteous. The location is fabulous, overlooking a park and near the convention center, visitor's center, and close to Campus. While I was in Lexington, I broke my leg, and the staff went over and beyond to assist me, especially Frank, the bellhop. I'm so grateful for his attentiveness! All the staff I interacted with were kind and helpful.

Yelp
Not worth the price and the employees are about as non friendly as they come. There is a reason I do not frequent Hilton's.
