"Popular with honeymooners and families alike, this large coastal property is located on Moorea, a quiet, lush island known for its beautiful mountain scenery and ample hiking opportunities. The hotel sits right on the lagoon and offers garden rooms and bungalows, many with their own private plunge pools, as well as fabulous overwater bungalows with glass floor panels in the living rooms and private decks with direct stair access to the warm waters below. Free kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, and snorkeling gear are available for those who want to explore their aquatic surroundings, though there’s plenty to do back on shore—from lazing on the white-sand beach (or in a hammock) to getting a massage with traditional Tahitian monoi (gardenia) oil. One of the highlights of a stay here is the chance to visit the hotel's overwater bar, allegedly the only one in the country, where tiny sharks congregate every evening at sundown for feedings."

The Hilton in Moorea was truly magical. From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and happy. Their warmth and attentiveness made our stay feel incredibly special. The food was absolutely outstanding. The buffet dinner, in particular, was a highlight — not only was every dish delicious, but it was paired with a gorgeous Polynesian show that made the evening unforgettable. We also got massages at the beautiful spa, which is located right on the beach with amazing views. We highly recommend the jasmine-scented oil and doing the couples massage. It was relaxing, romantic, and one of our favorite parts of the trip. Snorkeling was another highlight. We saw so many beautifully colored fish in the clear, warm water just steps from our room. Everything about our stay was amazing. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to relax and celebrate. Highly recommend this resort for anyone looking for a magical escape.

Overall a lovely resort. Staff and service are wonderful. Food was very good ,but very $$$. We declined the opportunity for a Polynesian buffet for $120 CDN pp. Drinks not included.|Free use of snorkeling gear, kayaks and paddleboards.|The over water bungalow was worth it.|My only minor complaint was that they do not easily accommodate non related guests travelling together. Despite multiple requests at time of booking, for 2 beds, we were given a bungalow with a king bed and couch that could be made into a very comfortable single bed. Maybe that is the set up in all the bungalows. We were comped a bottle of wine.|It was difficult at times to get separate bills. In the end we got it all worked out.|It's easy to see why the resort is so popular for honeymooners. It is very romantic.|Wonderful snorkeling right off your bungalow, and quite shallow. The water is beautiful.|Highly recommended!

Hubby & I had a relaxing 3-night visit to Moorea as part of our travel package with Bora Bora. However, the garden bungalow we stayed in could use some renovations especially the deck at the back—some board planks are loose and there are missing privacy boards. The boards on the wall next to the soaking pool have formed some mildew on them. |The staff are super friendly and helpful. Their main restaurant, Arii Vahine Restaurant has had an amazing buffet offerings for breakfast including a variety of fruits native to the region of Polynesia. Their dinner menu also features fabulous food items. The servers are professional but pleasant. The Toatea Crēperie & Bar serves everything crepes—savory and desserts. We gave it a try and were surprised that crepes for dinner are good!|The Polynesian dancers and performers presented an impressive and fantastic dinner show. Fire dancers performed at the beach and were amazing.|Mareva, our friendly taxi driver took us to Punuhu Valley where the view is beautiful. She also took us to town where we did some shopping. She became our tour guide and shared her knowledge of the islands.|Overall, we had fun here and would like to visit again and take our daughters for the experience.|I would recommend though that staff at the front desks communicate with the housekeeping crew for available room/bungalow. We ended up waiting for hours (about 5 hours) until I inquired about the |availability of our room. This was Unacceptable but we didn’t complain about this experience because we wanted to make it a pleasant first day visit.

I think the phrase "This really is paradise" popped up several times in conversation with my husband during our five night stay in one of the Hilton's overwater bungalows--and it really was! Our large bungalow was beautiful, clean, and super comfortable, with an upper and lower deck where you could relax and take in the stunning views of the ocean, sky, and tropical landscape. Such a thrill to be able to walk a few steps and climb down into the clear water each day to snorkel among the many amazing fish. So peaceful to sit at our outdoor table sipping coffee while the sun rose or enjoy a glass of wine at sunset. We loved watching the fish (and occasional shark!) through the glass window in the floor--seriously, it was more entertaining than television. The breakfast buffet was terrific (oh, how I miss the pineapple juice), and the Polynesian dinner show was awesome. We enjoyed some great food at the creperie and grill (be prepared for slower service than in the U.S.), and had fun playing with the paddleboard and kayaks. ||But what I find myself missing the most now that we're back home are the warm interactions we had with all of the wonderful staff members there. Everyone was so helpful, so kind, and always greeted us with a smile and la'orana. I truly hope we can return some day.

My husband and I spent 3 nights here during our honeymoon trip to French Polynesia and we had a lovely stay! We were in a garden bungalow which we thought was perfect. We loved hanging out on the beach every day, and never felt that the hotel was super crowded - there were always chairs by the beach and pool available. The food was good, drinks were good, and we enjoyed how knowledgable and helpful all the staff were. We definitely recommend staying here whether you are a couple or a family!

Pros: The hotel grounds are immaculate. The employees are great, very friendly and always want to help. Big shout out to Ernie, one of the porters(?) and the other porters who go out of their way to make your stay awesome.||We stayed in a OWB #77. The room was very clean. Some people say the rooms are outdated, but I think all the wood gives it a warm feeling to it. Our room had a fantastic sunrise view. The snorkeling was great off our bungalow. The best area was by the creperie restaurant.| |Con: The only con was the food at the restaurants. $40ea for basically fruit and an omelet for breakfast. We also reserved the Polynesian night dinner and show. For $110ea the buffet was terrible. The hot dishes were either cold or lukewarm. Besides the fruit all the dishes were inedible. The couple next to our table, after getting their food took a couple of bites and got up talked to the host and left! The only good part of the evening were the Polynesian dancers. The are a lot of better places to eat on Moorea.

This was our first stop on a 2 island vacation. We stayed 5 nights in an overwater bungalow and I’m so glad we upgraded from the garden bungalow (they don’t have views). The lagoon is beautiful and full of fish, so you can find amazing snorkeling right off your patio. The bungalows are well appointed with nice showers and tubs and my favorite was the “window” on the floor that lets you look at the fish right below your villa. The resort has a nice little beach and we never had a hard time finding seating or shade. The service in general is spotty. I would not describe it as 5 star service. The staff is friendly but not overly helpful for the most part. The food is the one area where this resort falls short. While the breakfast buffet is substantial, the dinner buffet food is awful. Almost inedible. Cold, tasteless, and just not good. The crepe restaurant is a better choice but the service is extremely slow. None of the restaurants know how to make a proper cocktail, so you may want to make your own or stick to wine. We still had a wonderful time and would go back, just based on the location. Hopefully the Hilton devotes some time to improving the food.

Celebrating anniversary. Stayed in deluxe garden king room for 5 nights. Our bungalow was one row away from the lagoon and perfectly placed. Our patio pool was too cool to enjoy but we still hung out on the lounge chairs on our private patio. The resorts location and rooms were their strongest points. Food was good but not fantastic. While the # of resort staff seemed small, they were extraordinarily friendly and helpful. We booked activities in advance directly through the hotel (ATV and ray-shark snorkeling encounter). Both were well worth the time and relatively inexpensive. We spent most of our free time at the hotel beach then kayaked and snorkeled anytime using their equipment. Dinner reservations are required but you can wait until arrival to book. The variety of offerings at their breakfast buffet is amazing. We suggest attending their small Polynesian show in the main dining room (offered 3x/week). The buffet is "ok" but the dancing and music were entertaining. We also rented a car through the hotel for 8 hours to drive around on our own. Highly recommended. We hope to return.
