Not good at all. Hilton management will try and take advantage of you at this site!
I was traveling to Pfronten and wanted something close to the airport for my landing and departure. When I made my reservation somehow my departure room was not booked. Upon checking in I had to book at the front counter so I would have a room when I returned. The clerk was impatient and rude with me as I looked to for my booking information trying to understand why my room wasn't booked. He offered to book the room for me, but the booking fee went from 200 Euro to 490 Euro! The clerk said it was because there were very few rooms left. I booked and went to my room to check online.
When I got to my room it was hot, stuffy, and humid, about 30C, it was nighttime in March and cold outside, so definitely not due to hot weather. The AC was going full speed set at 20C, and still blowing warm air into the room. I called down to the front desk and they sent a technician who reset the AC unit and said it would cool down in about 15 minutes. The technician was friendly and helpful, and I hoped he was right.
I sat down and checked the online bookings for the same room for my return trip and found the same room for 304 Euro, and many rooms available despite the clerk saying only a few rooms were left! Still highway robbery, but I booked this room. In the meantime, the temperature had not dropped in the room at all, and the blower was still blowing warm air, so I called down to the front desk. They offered to change out my room, and I asked if I could also borrow a Euro power adapter. From most of my travels I'm aware many hotels are willing to share these if you ask politely. They offered to sell me one, despite all of the issues with my stay so far not a single concession was offered.
At this point my frustration is very high, I maintained my composure, but said my experience at this hotel has been very poor, and I will never book another Hilton, and I did not feel like I was being treated well by the hotel. He apologized (barely) and offered to lend me the adapter.
I went to the front desk, where I found another frustrated customer whose water was not working in his room, and they were working to correct the issue, so I feel like the current operations here are barely under control, and the staff must be frustrated and tired of dealing with unhappy customers. I cancelled my 490 Euro booking, and the new room was clean and comfortable. The AC was still sub par, and I am not picky about temperature, living in a warm area of California full time with no AC. At least the window opens, so you can get cool air if the weather cooperates, but proximity to the airport means you will smell jet exhaust if the wind direction is not in your favor. Even with the window open the room never got below about 23C.
Overall, a very poor experience with hostile front desk staff, that really turned me off of Hilton. Having rarely stayed at one, I will be avoiding Hilton at all costs going forward.
