"Set the scene: What are your first impressions as you arrive? Entering Hilton Ponce Golf & Casino Resort's main lobby can be puzzling; it certainly is welcoming and spacious, but where is everyone? Outside, it turns out—perhaps by the expansive pool area or the 27-hole golf course. If they're spending any time at all inside, they're likely tucked into meeting or event rooms. Any notable tidbits? Opened in 1992 in Puerto Rico's so-called "second city," the Hilton Ponce is the largest hotel in the south of the island. So tell us about the rooms—what can we expect? There are 255 spacious, clean, basic rooms, all with a private balcony or patio. Equipped with everything you’d expect from a big-brand stay, they're sleekly decorated with shiny surfaces, tile floors, and marble-topped furniture. Is there a charge for Wi-Fi? Wi-Fi is included with the 14 percent resort fee. What are the on-site dining options like? There are four restaurants: El Bohio, a snacky sports bar, La Cava, serving local and continental fare, the indoor/outdoor La Terraza, and Sancho’s Sushi Bar. Who tends to stay here? Families, business trippers and wedding parties. Where on the island is it located? The Hilton Ponce is 80 minutes from San Juan and 11 minutes from Mercedita International Airport. Historic downtown Ponce is a 10-minute drive away. Any other hotel features worth noting? The Hilton Ponce is home to one of the largest casinos in the Caribbean. There are plenty of diversions for kids, too, including a spray park, a playground, and pools. So why would you recommend the Hilton Ponce? For its convenience, kids' amenities, and 27-hole golf course—without the congestion of San Juan." - Kathleen Squires

Took my fiance on what was supposed to be a romantic weekend getaway. DO NOT PICK THIS LOCATION!!! Water pressure in the showers was a dribble, TV in room only works half the time, room service NEVER picks up the phone, the locals took over the pool area leaving no seats for guests, black birds pooping all over the tables and chairs constantly in the dining area, trash all over the grounds.... I could go on but I think most get my drift. For the money they charge this should be at least a 4 star resort.... 1 at best 👌. Do not recommend the Hilton in Ponce. It's a dump with crappy service.

Desiree at the front desk did an outstanding job explaining the resort amenities and with the check in process. She deserves to be recognized for doing her attention to our needs, being knowledgeable, interactive, and great customer service 👏🏽

We were a little skeptical at first based on some reviews and pictures, but realized as soon as we stepped foot on the property that those reviews are wrong! This place is beautiful, clean, fun, and the staff is so friendly! Sure the building is concrete and may look “outdated” compared to modern architecture but it’s reinforced for hurricane season (duh) the rooms are brand new, the bed was perfect, and the amenities are awesome. Also we loved the slide! (We’re 29 and had so much fun)

If you're a Hilton Honors member, the Hilton Ponce Golf & Casino Resort is a must-try. The service was truly exceptional, showcasing the best of the program. I felt valued and well-cared for from the moment I booked, with consistent communication and follow-up that made my stay seamless. The room itself was comfortable and clean, and the bed was perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. The breakfast buffet offered a great selection, ensuring there was something for everyone. While the resort itself is lovely, it was the Hilton Honors service that truly elevated my experience, making it a memorable and enjoyable stay.

Beautiful hotel, wonderful facilities & activities (swimming, mini golf, pickleball, tennis, volleyball) for the kids. Private beach only steps away from the room. Pool & hot tubs were lovely with loads of space to relax around pool area. Staff were friendly & always helpful. Bed & pillows offered a comfy sleep. Room was spacious. Laundry just down the corridor, easy and convenient. Really enjoyable stay!

Google
What a great hotel and vacation getaway!! Quiet, relaxing , safe! Great food in all the restaurants! The service exceptional!! We called for room assistance several times and each time they attended almost immediately! Clean comfortable rooms and great comfy beds! My husband and I were there to support my sons golf tournament and enjoyed our time immensely! Transportation to other tourist sites not the best but we managed to hook up with Thomas who was great in arranging taxis and pickup from the Airport. Puerto Rico is definitely underrated as a getaway destination!! Loved it! Thank you!

Google
I have stayed at many Hilton brand hotels and have never dealt with the issues I've been met with at the one. I had to switch my room three times for various reasons also the room doesn't come with a microwave (unless you want to pay $20 a day for the use of that) also no blow dryer they charge you $30 per towel and the continental breakfast only consists of bagels toast muffins and coffee there are no eggs or anything hot. It's just not what I expected from an alleged resort That is $24.53 for one cocktail

Google
What a chill experience away from the craziness of San Juan. The city of Ponce and the Ponce Hilton hotel is worth the trip. So many things to do. Hotel provides all the amenities, many places to eat, from sushi to fine dining. The bar is excellent with their drinks. Recommend from the get away of San Juan to view the beautiful mountains range and the relaxing pool and Beach

Yelp
Excelente propiedad con campo de golf incluido, cuarto espacioso con vista al mar. Empleados muy atentos y amenos.

Yelp
The pool and amenities are very family friendly and there's a "private beach" that's rocky and it's dark hard sand. Not a soft sandy beach that you'd be looking for. If it wasn't for the poor food options I'd give this place a higher rating. The buffet is composed of hard to chew steaks and chicharrones and the breakfast is expensive for what it really is. In general Ponce Isn't the ideal place for tourists but it's a Decent place if you just plan to stay at the resort.

Yelp
I don't understand the bad reviews. Hay sol. Hay la playa. Hay Los bebidos. Friendly servicio. Rooms are clean. Tons of things to do. En San Juan would cost you x 3. Great place on the south coast of PR. DONT MISS. Creo que este es un lugar local con gran cultura y paisaje.

Yelp
I'm at the Hilton Ponce's New Year's Eve Party tonight (12/31/24). Pricey but everything is included. We have been here since it started at 7pm. I knew it was going to be loud so I brought some ear plugs. Even with the ear plugs it's too load. As a matter of fact, the bass is so heavy I think my heart is being affected. There are children here. It shouldn't be this loud, should it? Can someone tell the band to turn it down a little. Drinks are good. Wishing they would take a break.

Yelp
What a damn resort!! They were on top of EVERYTHING and made you feel like royalty upon arrival. Even though my fellow flight attendants and I arrived at 3am, they still rolled out the red carpet for us, discussed all the options and amenities they had to offer, and treated us like we were arriving in the middle of the day. The grounds are gorgeous, and they truly take your breath away. From the outdoor lobby, complete with ample seating and waterfalls, to the on-site casino with over 300 machines and live music, to the sweeping views of the golf course, swimming pools and jacuzzi, and ocean views from every room on site. The buffet breakfast has two options: full buffet or continental, and the prices are reasonable ($11 for full buffet). It featured a variety of pastries, several prime cuts of meats, a waffle and pancake station, fresh fruit, a make your own omelet bar, and three different types of potatoes. The only drawback is the dining area is located outdoors, which means the islands birds are trying to have breakfast, too lol. The resort tries to mitigate this by placing some food on hills further from the eating area, which drew away the majority of the birds, but there were a couple who still attempted to join us at our meal. Dinner was even better, with sliced pork, grilled chicken, steak, and paella, as well as smothered potatoes, rice, a salad bar, and various soups. You can also choose your own dessert, and this included an assortment of cheesecakes, chocolate cake, and cookies. At around 10pm, I was still hungry, so I ordered mozzarella sticks to my room. Room service is fully standard, with trays brought inside your room, and staff waiting outside to collect payment or bill it to the room. Another neat feature is that the resort has a contract with another golf course up the street, with private beaches, a kid free pool, sushi bar, and a full service bar that will bring your drinks to you at the pool or on the beach. I can't wait to stay here again on my next Ponce visit!

Yelp
We are back. We love it here. 3/2024 We have been coming here for 13 or more years. Great place to relax by the pool, the restaurants, the bar, the drinks, the rooms. Everything is great. Definitely recommend.

Yelp
The hotel is dated and not up to my cleanliness standard. Also, they won't open the gym until 6:30 a.m. even though some of us have to get to work early. Today is Monday, and the bar is blasting music that can be heard from my room on the 2nd floor. When I asked if they could turn it down, I was told there were other guests, and the bar is open until 11. What happened to customer service? It's 9 p.m. on Monday, and I have to get up for work tomorrow after traveling since 6 a.m. this morning.

Yelp
Great hotel! Customer service was top notch! I can not say enough how immaculate this hotel is! The breakfast buffet was nothing special, but they offered a big selection. Nice size pool with a slide and 2 hot tubs.

Yelp
I would give it zero stars if I could. Made a reservation for an event table with a room block. Had to call to make the reservation and requested two queen beds in two rooms. Both rooms we were given at check in were with king beds and not what we needed. They said they were full at 3:30p when we got there. Ok I said. We will take it. We get to the room and the minute I opened the door I wondered if we wondered into a Jersey Shore motel. The room was way dated. Weird stains on the furniture and an odd smell. My sisters room was the same. Her room actually looked like it was an office that was converted into a weirdly shaped room. We called the desk and asked for another room. They said none were available. It's 3:30p and I'm sure we weren't the last to check in. But nothing. I called customer service and asked for an upgrade I'd pay for. But they just referred me to the front desk. When I pushed back they escalated the call. The person actually said "oh. You checked in already. I could have helped you if you hadn't checked in" Like really! How would I know that there was a problem with the room if I hadn't checked in? They sent me to the front desk again. Which I did again the same story that there was no rooms. I asked I cannot possibly be the last one to have checked in. There has to be another room. So that you can handle the issues with this room before the next person comes. But nothing. I left. They did issue a refund. But it was a complete waste of time. Even with the room discount it was way too expensive for a terrible room and I would advise that you do not stay there.

Yelp
Have been going to the dinner buffet for 17 years. Used to be a great place to grab something delicious. A couple of years ago, we stopped going due to the decline in the variety and quality of the food. Last night thought we'd give it another try. Worse than ever. No more ribs, limited choices, the beef was chewy and all fat as well as being overcooked. The table staff was very good. It took 15 minutes to process the check. The manager said the computer was down when I asked what's up, and then proceeded to go to a different terminal and immediately processed the check without a problem. 3 people 3 drinks $169.00 with tip. When I asked the manager what's up with the value here, it's gone down and the prices have gone up- his response was the price of everything has gone up. Duuh! I don't mind paying a decent price but this guy acted as though he was doing me some kind of favor. Burger King would have been a better option. Again, food sucks, manager is very unprofessional and the price is not at all commiserate with the quality at all. What a shame- this used to be a good choice. Avoid this place- trust me- not at all worth it.

Yelp
They will short pour alcohol at the outside bar. I watched as one of the bartenders turned his back to a customer, poured dribbles of rum into a belnder for two pina coladas. Literally talking less than an ounce. They are ripping you off there.

Frank N.

Yelp
11/30/22: We stayed here for a couple of nights. Henry, at the front desk, was awesome. I had stayed here in Jan 2022 and he remembered me. Henry set us up with a nice room, and we really enjoyed the view. The grounds are immaculate, and the only downside during our stay was the abundance of mosquitos at the bar and pool areas. The bar had repellant spray on hand, but I think that the mosquitos are immune to it. We got bit big time! Jorge, one of the bartenders, was great. He knows how to make some great cocktails and was super friendly during our stay. The casino was nice and there is a shuttle to another property nearby that has a very nice pool area and eateries. We enjoyed our stay and recommend this property.

Yelp
The Hilton Ponce is exactly what I expected it to be--a lowkey, older hotel that was pretty good for a family with a six year old. The property itself isn't particularly upscale. It's older and not in perfect shape although the crew seems to take pride in keeping it in as good of a shape as it can be. The pool area was great for kiddos. The food wasn't very good but we adventured off property quite a bit. The beach is black sand with pretty rough waves. During our week there we only saw people go in one time. I had hoped we'd hang out on the beach a lot, but it wasn't super clean an inviting. Big chunks of concrete were all over the place along with some trash etc. The beach was not nice at all. The service in the pool area was lackluster. You couldn't get a drink unless you went to find someone for one, even though waiters walked around now and again. Food took quite a long time to get to us. The breakfast buffet was nice, and we took advantage of that. Overall, Ponce is mostly a gritty, industrial city. I wouldn't stay there again. There are much prettier parts of the island elsewhere!

Yelp
The service is beyond bad. We waited for our room for nearly two hours after arrival, in an UNAIRCONDITIONED LOBBY in 98 degree weather despite the fact that we were promised a 3:00 p.m. check-in. Worse, The noise level is actually tortuous. Tonight, we are lying here at 11:45 p.m. with our walls actually reverberating from the base and the off the charts, ridiculously loud music coming from a private party in one of the banquet rooms Three floors below us and one building over. Last night, the room next door threw a rager complete with screaming and yelling, and the dragging of furniture until 2:00 a.m.! We complained and security came up, but to no avail. I'm actually physically ill from the lack of sleep, with a high fever! We are in a top tier room and are honors members. Obviously, the hotel staff could care less. Did I mention that our breakfast tray is still outside or door at 11:45 p.m.???? There is syrup that someone kicked off the tray, all over the floor! Maybe a lawsuit from someone slipping in the syrup will wake them up. The Hilton chain has devolved tremendously, as they continue to live their luxurious lives. RUN AWAY FROM THIS PROPERTY! ***update: Management reached out and did their best to make things right. They were very concerned and apologetic. It's sad that the staff on board those nights were mostly apathetic. A bad reflection on a management team that seems to care more than its employees.****

Joe M.

Yelp
check in time 4pm we arrived at 5:30pm and were told the room was not ready. The staff at the desk gave excuses after excuse and they have the nerve to smile will fucking you over. Do not stay here....

Isidro B.

Yelp
Check-in is a mess. Line to check in was over an hour and 2:30 hrs later, still no rooms available.

Joellen J.

Yelp
I just dined at the Hilton Ponce's La Terraza restaurant this evening. I just paid $33.12 for a salad, some of the driest roast pork I have ever eaten, and a stringy beef steak. I didn't even have the benefit of washing it down with water because no server came to my table. I'm glad I grabbed an extra muffin at breakfast. What a sorely disappointing dining experience. This is, unfortunately, the second dining disaster in our short stay at this family-friendly location. With the exception of breakfast, the meals are overpriced, and the food quality and the service are both poor.

Nicole B.

Yelp
This hotel was amazing. A bit far if you're coming in from San Juan. It took almost two hours to get here, but it was a beautiful resort. The pool area had an amazing bar with great food and drinks, the pool was big and nicely decorated area. Lots of lounging chairs, chaises, hammocks, a hot tub and cold tub, a play area for the kids, a pool slide, an outdoor big chess game, and so much more. They have a buffet restaurant on sight as well if you didn't want the bar food. The rooms were good. Like every Caribbean country, them little ants annoy the hell out of you. Our room was nice, had a good selection of tv stations, but bathroom, bed was nice and comfy and they had a pull out bed in the chair which was cool. The hotel is huge. We stayed in the ocean view towers which gave us the best view. (See pics below) our balcony was nice and big and secluded. It was a very very nice stay. I would highly recommend this hotel. If you're driving from San Juan, keep in mind it's a long drive. Through mountain ranges but it's so worth it. If you can catch a flight to ponce airport that might be best. All in all, i have no complaints about this. (They do share the beach with another hotel due to the hurricane leaving debris on this one) the hotel isn't far. They have a shuttle that takes you and brings you back. The beach was secluded. It felt like we had our own beach for the day. It was absolutely amazing! There were a few stray dogs we saw also enjoying the beach and water from the hot day. We enjoyed our stay very much and will return. They also have a huge casino. (We didn't go there). See pics below.

Shipra T.

Yelp
The property is great but rooms are comfortable but pretty outdated and need to be redone.

Julie F.

Yelp
If you're coming to Ponce, this is the place to stay. The hotel is huge with conference and meeting rooms as well as a huge casino. There are two main hotel room buildings located near the action -- the tower and the ocean buildings. There is also a country club area which you can access via shuttle that has its own pool, a couple restaurants, and rooms. In the main hotel, there are a number of cafes, a pool bar and restaurant, and a couple restaurants -- one featuring a rotating themed dinner buffet. Outside, there are a couple pools and hot tubs as well as a water slide, basketball area, and mini golf. It's also on the water and there is a small brown dirt sand beach. The beach is nothing special, but it is relaxing to sit on a lounge chair listening to the sounds of the ocean. Kids will have a ball playing in the pool and surrounding area. Our room was located in the tower -- convenient to everything. It had a refrigerator, in room safe, flat screen tv and all the other amenities. It also had a balcony overlooking the pool. As we were on the 4th floor, we could also see the ocean from our room. We'd been here maybe 9 years ago and they've done a bit of remodeling and expansion since our first time here. Everything looked new and fresh and modern. Parking is $10 a night plus tax (everything in PR has added tax) if you self park. It's charged to your room when you checkout. They will explain the ticket process to you when you check in. As Hilton Honors members (if you're not a member sign up before you go), we received free breakfast each morning. It was a full buffet of everything you can imagine. The food was quite good as was the service. We walked through the casino -- lots of machines and full table games. We ate one night at the pool bar restaurant -- very good burgers and fries. We'd certainly stay here again the next time we are in Ponce.

Yelp
My family last stayed here 3 years ago when my kiddies were very little. Now we have a toddler and a big kid so we will see how this time goes. I booked this hotel months ago but realized really last minute that I needed 2 additional days. SUMMERS IN PUERTO RICO are too hot for staying with family who do not own air conditioners! Love family and all but we need air conditioners! Anyway, my daughters birthday is Sunday the 26th so I have been trying to book this weekend like crazy. The good thing is that through email, Ms Gabriella has been super helpful. So far we are booked for Sunday but still need Saturday. Yesterday I saw a few availabilities for Saturday online but didn't book anything as I was waiting on her response. Unfortunately she didn't respond until the next day and so I lost all availability from yesterday. That sucks. Now we are waiting for possible cancellations so that I can get Saturday booked as well. We really need this. I requested a microwave and was told there may be a daily charge for that. We will find out at the front desk when we get there what that charge is. So far all is good and I'm hoping to get Saturday. We didn't get Saturday unfortunately. What sucks is that I called to find out prices on Friday. I was given a quote higher than what Gabriella gave me for Sunday and Saturday had availability. Because of the lower rate for Sunday with Gabriella I was told to wait on her response that evening. Sucks but it is what it is. Fast forward to Sunday. We were able to check in an hour prior to regular check in. Microwave charge is $20 but I didn't get the microwave on the same day which was odd. They did however surprise us with a birthday cake for my daughter and 2 Coca Cola cans. We don't drink soda but that was extremely sweet. For some reason my card would not charge when we were in the pool. I had to go in person to use my card again even though it was the card I had attached to the room. They called the room multiple times and even at nighttime which I was annoyed by since my kids were sleeping. That was the only problem we truly had and were annoyed by. The food was okay. We preferred eating outside of the hotel. Food more worth the money and flavorful. Try Viktor Pollo! So good and close to the hotel! The staff was super friendly all in all. It was our first experience doing summertime here in Puerto Rico. We usually come during spring or winter times. The pool was really crowded all the time pretty much but we had the same space every time we went which was nice. The slide is a fun addition that the kids loved! The room was really nice and cozy. No real complaints.

Angela D.

Yelp
Overpriced! Also, they are NOT military friendly. They advertise a military discount but we ended up paying MORE per night than the regular price. How is that possible?! I called ahead and spoke to the front desk about their pricing and they assured me one thing but the price was WAY more when we arrived. We booked a king, ocean-view ground floor room but received a room with 2 full beds with a balcony. Me and my boyfriend were NOT happy about sharing a full-sized bed....he sleeps like a starfish! Haha. Don't get me started on breakfast either. Biggest ripoff ever! You have the option of $15 each for a continental breakfast that is basically a carb overload, or for $25 each you can have all of the carbs PLUS fake eggs! The beach is not a beach at all so don't be fooled, you need to take a bus to the other location and that beach and pool closes at 6pm so what good is that. Zero entertaining activities if you don't golf and not really what I expect for a $350 per night rate.

Brooke S.

Yelp
Review of "JU" is dead-on. Burden. You're a burden here. It doesn't matter that YOU paid to relax and that they are PAID to help you relax. You're an inconvenience here. And beneath them. And sometimes the insults are slight. This is what I sent the text bot that asked me about the stay: "Most people let me know how I've invonvienved them so far. "Oh if you sat at those tables then it is easier for us" "oh you need two more pillows? Fine. I will have to go get them" "oh you can come get some water bottles free of charge at the front desk."---- I get to front desk---"oh these are only for gold member guests, but I will Make an exception this once and give you two" I didn't know about the tables. I can't get pillows myself or I would have- and I don't mind paying for water especially if I'm shamed into seeming cheap. So yea. It's just been weird so far." Right now my husband is seeking out the manager to argue with him about the staff refusing to give or even SELL us some stupid coupons they require for the kids to get icees. Unbelievable. Hilton staff-- this is your f'ing job. If I did my job like this I'd be fired in a day. Who is managing you? Why do you all hate working in the service industry so much?? Get different jobs!!! You're ruining vacations! And we don't have enough money to just go somewhere else. This is our first trip in ten years. Also they gave a crappier room than what I booked. I booked ocean view and they gave us a ground floor room with slight view of the pool. And then they insisted I was wrong about it. Whatever. Never again.

Grace A.

Yelp
Best place ever to hang out, off the grid- low key family vibes. Rooms are super! 10/10 We'll be back for Christmas!!

Myriam O.

Yelp
I am giving it 4 and not 5 stars because the hotel in overall need a little renovation. Rooms look more like a holiday in than a Hilton, bathrooms are from 1980s, in overall the hotel needs a little modernization. However, everyone from the valet to restaurant employees are amazing. The golf course from hole 1 to 18 are challenging, beautiful, very well kept. But don't try to go to hole 19 to 27. It was imposible to even run the golf cart through the car path. We even came across horses. Having said that, the rest of the experience was great, better than expected. The common areas are beautiful and well staffed, the restaurant food is good for the price. In overall our experience was great and we are looking forward to coming back very soon!

Kat R.

Yelp
I would never stay here again. First I booked for a room ocean view with two queen beds and when we arrived, we were told they had us for 1 king, I showed them the confirmation and they said sorry, that's all we have. Then she said there was one but it needs to be cleaned and she didn't know how long it would take. She said the king room had a sofa bed but we surely didn't see it. So me my husband and 10 year old has to sleep in the same bed very uncomfortable. The pool looked dirty, the rooms are outdated with popcorn ceilings. The floors are tile and gross. I felt bad for the group of stray dogs. I hope someone takes care of them at least. Not worth the money or hype sadly.

Shamia E.

Yelp
This goes down as one if the worse places to stay ever. It's truly sad because it should be an amazing place. It failed daily especially at cleanliness. We ate at the restaurant and stray dogs walked up to our table. The staff is used to them. Dog poop throughout the grounds. You have to look down at the floor when walking around. When in my room I was going to make a cup of coffee. The cup was already dirty. There was trash outside the room on the deck. We checked in on Monday and the outside wasn't cleaned up until Thursday. That's when I decided I couldn't take it there any longer. I checked out a day early. They wanted to charge me for leaving early. The beach is full of trash. It looks polluted. The water isn't clear and the sand is dirty. If you want to see manatees it is a good place to spot them. Being handicap it wasn't easy having to walk up and down a hill to get my vehicle. I paid daily to park in their lot. One day they blocked the handicap parking and I had to park farther away. There of course was no valet parking. The food in the restaurant was only ok. The wings appear to have been frozen breaded wings with mediocre sauce. The plantains were dry and not flavorful.. The wait to get service was long. The tables nearby were dirty. I asked for lemons twice and continued receiving limes. I took it as a language barrier when the woman asked if I mean the yellow ones. That's when she finally brought me lemons. The only good thing were the drinks. If the grounds weren't so dirty the place would have been nice. Instead it is run down and filthy. It's a shame it carries the Hilton name. One of the worse I ever been in.

Laura P.

Yelp
So I booked a trip for myself and my boyfriend. We had issues with our flights being delayed then cancelled and moved around. I had reservations (paid for) at the Hilton in Ponce. I called and advised them that our arrival would be later then what we booked. I was told "no problem, a notation has been put in your reservation". We arrive now only 5 hours after I said we were estimated to arrive and the "night auditor" is annoyed and tells us "you were a no show so we cancelled you..". Now the price I initially paid isn't valid and I have to pay yet again. So now 4 nights that I "paid" for is more expensive for less nights. There was one person at this large resort that was helpful and he was one of the food service people. I would not recommend this place to stay.

Yelp
This resort is about 1 1/2 hour outside of San Juan. It is a nice size hotel but not overwhelmingly big. The wait staff are very nice. The food very good. A very family oriented atmosphere with one big pool and play areas for the children. Two hot tubs. Right on the beach. There is really no nightlife here so you would have to go off of the resort for nighttime entertainment. They do have live music during dinner. I came here with family and friends that included children and everyone had a good time. The price for meals are very good $27 for a bucket dinner. $22 for four breakfast. $14 for continental. I recommend this resort for low key family relaxation. Overall great experience.

Yelp
My parents and I have come 2 years in a row. The staff is friendly, helpful and made us feel right at home. Our bags and purchases were always taken care of. We were greeted each time we walked around and came and went from the hotel. Rooms were clean. Housekeeping was available both years (first year was during the pandemic). The pool and beach area always cleaned daily. I appreciate their attention to my parent's well being seeing as both are now elderly and take their time moving about. The pool side bar and kitchen is excellent. Food is made to order and the drinks are fantastic. There is a continental breakfast as well as full breakfast option available. Parking is either valet or self parking. Front desk service is thorough and friendly. There always a lot of people around so the wait may be short or long depending on the day you arrive so just be mindful. They will answer all your questions and can give recommendations of where to do and what to do around the area. The staff takes pride in their work and service. We enjoyed our visit immensely.

Yelp
All of the staff here is exceptional. They all make it a point to tell you "Buenos Dias" and they make sure that you are doing well and have everything you need for an amazing stay. The fitness center is not officially opened 24/7 but someone will open it for you after hours if you request. Fitness center is not huge but has everything that you need, equipment is in good condition, and they provide sanitizing wipes. There are plenty of routes to go for a run. I enjoyed running on the golf course (4+ miles) or the dirt path (approx. 3 miles) that must be accessed from the beach. The full breakfast buffet is awesome. Definitely top 2, that I've ever experienced. They have an egg-making station, fresh fruits, cereal, soy/dairy/almond milk, pastries, breads, breakfast meats, juices, oatmeal/cornmeal, waffle maker, etc. Service was always on-point and friendly. I ordered a few meals/snacks from each of the restaurants onsite and on the golf course as well. The majority of my food was really good. There is a huge casino and a gift shop as well. The beach leaves much to be desired but that seems to be the state of beaches in Ponce. The grounds are well-maintained. However, there is a bird and mosquito issue. Although, they do try to lessen the issues by spraying repellent at least 3 times a day and providing food covers when dining outside. My room has a beautiful view of the ocean. Overall, the hotel is quiet and relaxing. I highly recommend staying here if ever in Ponce.

Yelp
Let me put it first that the staff here are great and did a good job helping with the problems, which is why it is a 2-star instead of 1-star. Their rooms are worse than the worst hotels/inns I've ever had in the US. My photos speak for themselves. It's a scam and I'm appalled to see that Hilton had included this in their resort line. I reached out to customer service but none of the lines for Diamond member can be reached nor was I able to submit my message via their feedback session in their app. But I would not take it on this particular hotel. This extra information is just so you know what would happen if you are not happy with their product with their highest level membership. Hilton has some serious management issues to deal with obviously.

Yelp
This resort is modern and super clean. The staff is accommodating and the rooms are nice, but if you want to book a hotel for the beach this is not the place. I requested a room with an ocean view; I got a view of the pools with the ocean at a distance through many palm trees, but this was not a deal breaker. The beach is narrow with dark sand with a lot of sea weed and rocks. They have areas where you can sit under umbrellas and view the ocean, but for swimming stick to the pools. The grounds are very pretty with lots of tropical plants and life animals such as, birds and Iguanas. The location is close to all the tourist sites in Ponce, such as: Plaza De Las Delicias, Parque De Bombas and Castillo Serrales. You can't go wrong staying at Hilton Ponce Golf and Casino resort for its cleanliness, modern rooms, casino, beautiful grounds and proximity to the tourist sites and I would consider it again for a short stay in Ponce. For the rest of my stay on this beautiful tropical Island, I prefer a hotel with a beautiful beach in Isla Verde.

Yelp
Shabby old and dirty rooms about sums up this hotel. I could say much more. but word shabby and dirty says it all, dirty means whole facility,

Yelp
Was here for business and had a great weeklong stay. The room was clean and comfortable. Mostly I enjoyed the views from the pool and the pina coladas at the bar. The gym here is decent with a variety of equipment including machines and free weights. The pool was clean with lots of places to sit and lounge nearby. The beach was pretty much closed every time I tried to walk out there, but the pool was probably better to swim in (from what I heard) anyway.

Yelp

Yelp
The start to my trip was less than satisfactory, the flights into ponce airport only land at 2 in the morning, kind of sketchy getting a cab at the airport but it's very close to the hotel so you're there in a second. I arrived and no one was at the desk, 15 mins later victor comes out, he wasn't very nice he was also at work at 3am so maybe he was grumpy. I was told the king bed I reserved was now a double queen, also the patio I reserved was changed to a balcony. He said I had no choice, he wasn't nice at all or sorry for the mistake (which is why they keep him on at night i assume) get to the room it's a double full bed room. I was on my 1 year anniversary and slept in separate beds than my husband. Needless to say I wasn't happy. Wake up the next morning and call the desk, a king patio was available and the lovely front desk (lucielle i think her name was) staff was more than accommodating much nicer than victor. The room was clean and the view was amazing we were right off the pool and walking distance to the beach. They also sent a bottle of wine and a fruit basket to apologize for the room error The pool was fairly empty busier on Saturday Sunday still not bad. Plenty of chairs. The beach wasn't great lots of rocks bring water shoes but lovely view and amazing sunsets. The el bohio bar was great bar food and nice to have by the pool, the drinks were awesome. Orlando alexis and Jorge were super attentive and helpful. The game/towel house is awesome being able to rent bikes and beach games. Mini golf looked fun but it was so hot we didn't play, it's small but cute. Great for kids and families The coffee bar makes delicious breakfast the $22 buffet isn't worth it unless you plan to eat a lot. The lunch buffet is totally worth it 9.99 delicious food. Lacava was delicious we had a lovely dinner and dessert there the wait staff was great. The entire hotel staff was great the views amazing and the food delicious. My only complaint would be not much night life or entertainment. The bar was open till 1am but no music we went to relax and that we did so it didn't bother us but would have been nice to hear some tunes. The casino is old and not worth it to play in my opinion it was a lot of locals. Also a tip take the shuttle to the golf course pool, it's way less crowded and the beach is much nicer. The sushi/hibachi restaurant was awesome. Sanchos it was called. Traveling into town during the day take uber it's way cheaper but the wait times are up to 25 mins so make sure your not in a rush. If it's later at night get the ponce cab number from the front desk.

Yelp
I checked in on June 18, 2023, in room 546 I was tired & fell asleep, then I was awoke by bedbugs crawling all over me, I jumped up & started checking the sheets, & matress, & they were crawling all over the bed! I was Mortified!!!!! I called the Front Desk, & the clerk seemed like it wasn't important & said there were no more rooms! & I told him he needed to find one, cause I sure as hell wasn't sleeping in that room! The engineer came up to check & he agreed & told them at the front desk I waited for over 30 minutes, for clerk to call & give me a another room, I didn't have the same view, but at this point I didn't care, I just wanted out of the room! So obviously they are Not disinfecting the room thoroughly! For the amount that they charge, it's ridiculous! The following day I go to the Front Desk & spoke to a Female Agent long black Curly hair, & she told me for compensation they would give me half off on of one the the nights, after speaking to her Manager, You would think at least 1 night would be fair, since I was awaken at Midnight by the bugs, had to wait to be moved, then at 1 am I'm walking to my new room, & taking a shower at 130 am!!! Well the gentleman that was there on my check out date which was June 23rd, I looked at bill & they didn't give me the discount, I asked about it & he said No Compensation & there's nothing in his Computer or Notes that said anything! So basically these people Do Not Care about guest & keeping them happy after a terrible experience! They just sell you a dream to keep you quiet! Also the TV kept going out Constantly in both rooms on & off! The whole time during my stay (4 days) Also the pool is more for kids, they are diving & jumping in & out of the pool So I would not recommend this property based on my experience & how they the Front Desk Staff/Management did Not Honor their word! I stay at Marriotts all the time, & they really make sure they guest are happy & Satisfied!

Yelp
Having family in PR I never stay in hotels when I go to the island, and I hardly ever go to Ponce but, this was a special occasion... This time I was going for a friend's wedding. To help with preparations and last minute bride needs I stayed at the Hilton Ponce Resort with the bride. Service overall was great. Immediately greeted at the gate, you'll have the option to self-park ($8 per day) or valet ($15 per day). We decided on Valet our first day because of rain and the rest of our stay self-park. Regardless of which you can ask for help with you luggage. Good thing about valet is them bringing everything up to the room at your arrival. Room was not exactly what I expected for the cost per night - I have stayed at much nicer rooms for less - but at least it was clean and comfortable, and had somewhat of a view to the beach. The pool area is nice, with lots of tanning chairs and umbrella tables, plus a "tiki bar" with friendly servers. Room service food was pretty good but took a bit for the person taking the order to get my whole order and still got one thing wrong when delivered to the room plus no salt and pepper was included when we ordered eggs (and they needed it). After this we decided the rest of the days to go down to the breakfast buffet. The hotel also has several restaurants, casino, bar with Karaoke, bike trail, tennis courts, giant chess board, and of course the Golf Course. Overall it's a nice hotel just look for deals if available - to me, it's overpriced - but definitely one of the best, if not the best in Ponce.

Yelp
So it was cool we swung through for a couple hours actually looking for somewhere in the area that had a nice beach front. To our surprise we were very disappointed. Im very glad I didn't choose to stay at this location. Don't get me wrong nothing was wrong with it only the beachfront area would make me choose to stay somewhere else on the coast that had access to a nicer beachfront..... we chose to stay on the north side of the island near San Juan. They do have a casino and nice restaurant areas to sit and eat. Nice pool, volleyball area and a walking, /running track.

Yelp
The hotel is beautiful just stayed 7 nights... food service & casino nice! But unfortunately was misled by beach front, no beach here!!! dirty sand can't swim so won't be back

Yelp
Would not recommend. Its not on a golf course, it's near a golf course. The beach really isn't an area where you can lay out or walk. Very narrow. there are limited food options on the premises. The 2 restaurant, only 1 is open all week. The other is only open on Wednesday - Sunday. The sports bar is definitely not much of a restaurant. Likely frozen food that they either deep fry or microwave. Rooms are older and small. Bathroom is horrible. Property definitely needs a makeover. This really isn't a tourist location so will need a car to get around as there is nothing around the hotel.

Yelp
Great location, chose to stay local and eat at the hotel, as expected high price for small quantity. Overall beautiful grounds. Came during COVID and the beach as anywhere else on the island had restrictions without the pesty police. Rooms are large and spacious.

Yelp
A family group of 4 went today to the Terraza Lunch Buffet at the Hilton! I had sent a message for the feísima a couple days prior via messenger. They answered promptly with the details. The buffet seating is either inside the restaurant or in the terrace. We opted for the open terrace and it was wonderful. The buffet food was excellent with ample choice of salads, entrees and desserts. The service of the wait staff was excellent as was the hotel. The price was reasonable and worth it. I wii definitely return when I come back to PR next year !

Yelp
I have a house in Mayaguez, but sometimes my husband and I like to switch it up so we stay at Ponce Hilton!!! It is fantastic. The place is super clean ,bartender's are all so friendly and work so hard. It's a fun place to get away for a couple of nights

Zina A.

Yelp
Stayed here for a few days during Covid. The room was clean and the staff friendly. It's sad that many things are closed including the beach due to government restrictions. This place might deserve 3.5 stars but I don't think I would give them 4 mostly because of the food. I am hoping the restaurants have better food but I did not have a chance to try that. Having such amazon food in the island, I am saddened to say the food here is overpriced american bar food. We found ourselves exploring a bit and going out for dinner which I would only recommend if you know the area and speak the language.

Yelp
Service was super slow, breakfast took them about 15 minutes for coffee. The rooms didn't have any water to drink ( nether any information about how to get it) First night we tried to get in the pool about 9:00pm of course every single signs said 6:00am to 10:00pm, but they send a security hard to make us get out because they change their policies about the times, so we did and asked him where can we get towels and his answer was " they normally have the towels in that room " and I said that room is closed , and his answer was " you can try at the Gymn " so I asked, " do they have towels? He said " I don't know, and then he said " you can go to the front desk, I asked do they have towels? His answer again was I don't know. Right after while we where talking about the situation we got 6 big men, yes 6 men all of them really big and after they so rounded us one of them said " you have to leave the pool area ( time by now is 9:35pm) so I asked " Really, you need it 6 men to asked my self and my 4 girls to leave the area?" This isn't our first time coming to this hotel but I don't feel like ever coming back again. Most of the people the work in this hotel aren't well educated Bernadette at the bar area was super nice. Cleaning lady for my room was helpful.

Yelp
My family and I visited this past July. The main reason for our stay was the fact we have other family that live in Ponce and his hotel was the closest to them. It was about an hour drive from our car rental place and anyone that has driven in Puerto Rico can tell you that that was an adventure in and of itself!! Upon arrival, the check in process went relatively quickly however, there were SO many hidden charges that we were unaware of (ie: the mandatory 14% for WiFi and other amenities) which kind of put a damper on things. Maybe this is something that happens often at resorts and we were just unaware, but it would've been nice to have had some sort of heads up beforehand. The rooms were nice, I believe ours was handicap accessible so it had just a bit more space. Our room overlooked the running path and beach area so we could hear the waves from the sea at night. Overall, I'd say the hotel was pretty clean in a very general sense. There were definitely some places that could use a little elbow grease to spruce it up a bit. The one thing I was more than a little disappointed by was the food!! I was looking forward to a bit more authentic fare, but it seemed as though they catered the menu to the tourists. And on top of that, everything was considerably pricey for items we could get back at home. $25/day for breakfast buffet which was basically glorified continental. Lunches and Dinners ran about 25/35 pp for again, simple foods you could easily get at home. I was really hoping for more :( As far as amenities, they were pretty standard for a Caribbean resort. Large pool, hot tub, restaurants, running path, gym, etc. They are also a golf resort if you're into that sort of thing. My family and I are not so we didn't get to experience that side of the resort. All in all, it was a nice place to stay. I'm not sure if it was all that for the price...the jury is still out on that one. Overall, I'd recommend it to others.
