This was a single-night stopover while waiting to board a cruise ship. The hotel served its purpose, which was a bed and a shower with a great breakfast.||Check-in: I arrived at the hotel at approximately 10:30 AM. The Front Desk attendant was courteous, friendly, fast, and efficient. He indicated that the room wasn’t ready since they were trying to clear the hotel of the current cruise guests – no problem! As a Lifetime Diamond, I had access to the Executive Lounge so that’s where I waited for my room to be ready.||Executive Lounge: The space was moderately small in size and featured large windows that allowed significant natural light into the room. While I was waiting for my room, there were only about 4 other people and a family of 4. Unfortunately, the parents thought it was fine for the young kid to listen to his cartoon on his iPad without using his headphones. Once they left, about 30 mins later, it was quiet. Some snacks appeared around an hour later and they were not particularly exciting. Some cookies and some vague nuts. Unlimited tea and coffee were available.| |Room: I had an 8th floor room (the lounge was on the same floor); twin beds, desk, some type of coffee maker, but more importantly, a water kettle for tea. The size of the room was fine; not too small and definitely not too big. It was a spare room with modern furniture. For this one night, it turned out great. The bathroom had sufficient towels, and the shower included the obligatory shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner. It was chilly night so I used the room heater. That's when I noticed there was no option for air conditioning.||Breakfast: Lots of options for food, but most European hotels do a much better job with breakfast. Many fresh fruit options, different juice selections, cereals, multiple types of bread, and numerous hot food selections including fresh eggs, meats, and potatoes. It was a great breakfast - food and service. 👍🏽 (I didn’t bother with checking for breakfast in the executive lounge. A recent stay at another Hilton in Europe indicated I should go to the main restaurant for breakfast.)||Location: It was close to the cruise ship terminal so that worked out. In relation to downtown, it’s a cab ride.||Everyone working at the hotel was friendly and courteous. Given the constant cruise traffic, you might expect employees to be burned out, but I saw no evidence of that. They answered questions when asked and everyone had a positive attitude.
