The elevator was down during a very popular event, bringing in more customers as usual. Could have been a great opportunity to try and sell the Hilton Grand Vacation timeshare plan, but who would want to invest in a company that one of its properties is managed so poorly! Apparently, the elevator had been down for several months with no answers as to when it might be fixed. Waiting time for the elevator with luggage cart was 20-30 minutes. The main phone in the room didn't work either. Our toilet was continuely running, the water tank wouldn't fill it and it wouldn't flush. We knew it would take maintenance a while to get to us, so my husband was able to rig the seal and fix. Definitely needs some love and attention into this building

Very nice hotel right on the beach with great views. Check in was very nice with a polite warm professional welcome. Stayed on the 20th floor. Rooms were very clean - nice touch are the motion sensor night light and the TV in the bathroom mirror. Balcony had great ocean views. Recommend that you valet park since price is not much different than self park. Enclosed elevated walkway from hotel to the parking garage. TV was sort of small for the room size. Would definitely stay there again.

Recently stayed as a surprise for someone special, we wanted a nice room and to see the lights on the boardwalk, we got both. The room was very clean, beds were comfortable, view was fantastic and the staff was helpful and friendly. Only downside was I was not aware of the parking charge, would have been nice to know ahead of time but it is the beach and parking is rarely free. There was one particular interaction with staff that has never happened in the 20 years of travel and hundreds of hotels I’ve stayed in, it was with the housekeeper named Marilyn. Typically when it’s close to check out you get a knock to see if you’ve left or to let you know it’s time to check out, not here. I got a knock on the door from Marilyn who asked simply if I wanted a water or anything for the drive home. That blew me away, a simple kind gesture, thank you again Marilyn.

Really had a great time. The hotel has been remodel and it's now a real 21st century hotel. The catch 31 restaurant is really amazing. The staff were warm to us. I nice place to go in the fall in Virginia Beach. We like the remodel of the rooms. The breakfast was very nice

This was my first visit to Virginia Beach. This was a very nice hotel. The room was comfortable and quiet and an awesome view of the Atlantic Ocean. I wish hotel chains (most of them) would use better quality paper products. It seems like that is where they go bargain brand. I would like a facial tissue that does not dissolve in your hands. Anyway, during my stay, housekeeping came in once to empty the trash. What ever happened to them making your bed? I know that since Covid, all of that changed. I was surprised that they even came in for the trash. I normally do not see any housekeeping until I depart. Other than that, it was very nice.

Stayed at the Hilton Virginia Beach Oceanfront for one night and had a great experience. We like Hilton because you know what you'll get but this was better than normal! Room was very clean, great view and great to hear the ocean at night. We ate at the hotel bar and the bartender was helpful and spot on. We both really enjoyed our meals. My husband has eaten Yellowfin Tuna often and at many places and actually said this was the best he had ever had. We really enjoyed the coconut shrimp, it was tender, not chewy. Valet was friendly and quick. Overall the entire stay was enjoyable. Thanks Hilton!

Google
Had a great view. Couldn't get heat to work correctly. Tv would shut off on its own. Never experienced that at a hotel before. Charged for parking. This is the off-season. There's no reason for that. Staff wasn't very helpful and just kept offering to charge things to the room.

Kevin and the valet team at the Hilton Oceanfront are the unsung heroes who make arriving and leaving the establishment smooth and effortless. They greet you with a smile, even when it is very busy. We attended a NVBCL event at the Sky Bar and stayed for dinner at Catch 31 and all the staff we encountered were friendly and professional. The view of the ocean and the sunset from the Sky Bar was spectacular. The food and drinks were also good. The service was fantastic and fast, even though there were many guests.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed at Hampton Inn North in Virginia Beach in October, 2024. We were very pleased with the renovations with the exception of the placement of the pool which is in the lobby in full view of the receptionist and everyone passing through the lobby. The evening staff, Julia and Rodney, helped me with a registration issue caused by the marketing company "Booksi". I commend their compassion and problem-solving skills. They saved my vacation. I sincerely advise that everyone avoid this questionable company, Booksi. I plan to share my horrible experience with Hilton directly, given that Hilton contracts with them and will never use Booksi's services again. One other drawback is that this location charges $20 nightly for parking. We have been coming to Hampton Inns in Virginia Beach for years for our family reunion and for birthday celebrations. It is unfortunate that we will probably drive further in the future to Nags Head where we've stayed in a resort with great accommodations and free parking.

Yelp
No matter your room the view is fantastic. You can get full ocean view or city/ ocean view. The hotel has a restaurant downstairs that has a wonderful breakfast. You have to pay for parking and the garage is attached to the hotel via people bridge. The staff were friendly and made sure the room was cleaned. The ocean is right outside so how can you complain. We had a good experience here

Yelp
PROS: - Orig booked a dbl/dbl city view (HGV 3-night timeshare promo); however, upon check-in, I was graciously Diamond upgraded to a dbl/dbl oceanfront on 11F (#1110) - (Gold/Diamond) $30 daily F&B CR (does not roll) - Very good location with EZ access to the beach - Comp beach towels are available at the front desk or Concierge and can be dropped off at the blue container across from the Concierge desk. - Live music outside of Catch31 in the evenings (goes to around 10ish) - Gym: decent / limited, dumbbell rack (5lbs - 50lbs), (2) adjustable benches, cardio machines, peloton bike, waters, small towels CONS: - Every now and then, the shower makes this odd jarring noise but I quickly learned to tune it out. - Wet spot on the carpet around the corner of the room, adjacent to the HVAC. - Beach chairs & umbrellas = $20/each (2 chairs are no longer comp for Hilton mbrs) - Exec Lounge no longer exists (sucks for Diamond mbrs) - Elevators are SLOW (expect queues) - Parking (paid)

Yelp
My friend and I booked a quick two night stay here for a last minute get away. I was nervous AF based on the reviews but we literally had no issues except maybe my room not being ready on time, but hers was so we just dropped our stuff in there and mine was ready at 4:30. The pool area was smaller than I'd expected but we had no problem getting loungers. Drinks were also priced cheaper than I expected. We did not experience any elevator issues during our stay and were on the 17th floor. I did have a problem w the shower not draining in my room so I texted the front desk as we were leaving for dinner and by the time we were back it was fixed. Speaking of showers- first time I've had decent shower pressure at a Hilton brand in a while so that was nice. I was also able to snag a corner room w a partial beach view and more space so yay! Valet parking was a breeze. The area is also very central with lots of restaurants within walking distance and a Starbucks a block away. I will note that I only paid about $200 a night through my friend's discount but I can't think of anything that was so bad that my thought process was "well at least it was really cheap." Would 100% come back.

Yelp
I liked the location of this hotel, located between 30th and 31st street located across a huge parking garage where self-parking is $15 with in and out privileges for hotel guests. There are many restaurants within walking distance. For Hilton Diamond members, they do provide a daily F&B $15 credit ($30 if you have another guest name in the reservation), plus this is like the only Hilton hotel that has an executive club where breakfast, drinks and evening snacks are provided. The executive club attendants were so awesome. This IMO makes this the Hilton hotel to stay at in VA beach. For the beach, the hotel provides towels at the concierge desk and provides two beach chairs (need to tell the beach rental people your room number). The pools on the 21st floor was a lot of fun especially with the Sky Bar. Our room was cleaned daily and have no complaints about the room. I just wish they had two queen size beds instead of the two double beds. Catch 31 is a nice hotel restaurant but drinks can be pricey. We walked over to Murphy's Irish Bar which is couple blocks away for drinks. Now some of the cons: - Elevators! - these have to be the slowest elevators. They only have three elevators, and one was out of order. We were on the 17th floor and decided to take the stairs instead of waiting 15-30 minutes for an elevator. Be prepared to wait a long time during peak hours. - Noise - You will hear the roar of the jets quite frequently during the day. Neptune Park is right next to the hotel, they have concerts from 6 PM - 10 PM on most days so be prepared to hear the loud music. Because of the Executive Lounge, this will be my hotel of choice in VA Beach.

Fred K.

Yelp
A solid 4 star rating in my opinion. Can't beat the location oceanfront and so much ample parking in the garage ($15 a day with in and out privileges). For the beach, the concierge desk has beach towels for you to use and you also get two beach chairs at the beach! Just tell tell the beach rental folks your room number and they will provide two chairs at no cost! We really enjoyed the Skye Bar at the rooftop. Oh and the two pools too. Lots of pool towels too. Catch 31 dinner was alright, good crab cake with lots of lump crab meat. Bar closes at 1:30am every night and they also have a late night food menu after 11pm. The staff at the club lounge were the best! I was so surprised they have a lounge here and it saved our families so much $ on breakfast and bottled waters and Pepsi products. Evening apps was good too. Thanks again to the staff here! Thus made our stay and for Diamonds, it's complimentary (breakfast at the Catch 31 food credit wont apply for Diamonds). The room itself was fine, even though we had some issues like the tub drain being really slow and the safe was locked from previous guest (quick call to their engineering got that solved right away). Now our room blackout drapes didn't close all the way and used my towel clips to get the room dark. Would recommend this hotel for a good beach vacation!

Yelp
Nice Hilton Ocean front hotel. Great heated pools and nice rooftop sky bar area. Has a nice restaurant you can book ahead from room or through OpenTable. Got nice high floor room with elite status and free water and cookies. Shower head was nice. Food was fresh being caught that day. They have happy hour from 3pm to 6pm during the week. Nice for friends couples and family. Nice place for a quick getaway.

Kasey P.

Yelp
This isn't a bad hotel, but they constantly have a broken elevator. During our stay, one was broke and I also ready reviews back to a year ago and they have had one broken at least a year. Even after Labor Day in the off season and it was a nightmare. Also our first night in room #1, we couldn't use the water because it only gave out scalding hot water. Maintenance tried to fix it twice before we had to move to room #2. That was one of the pluses. I also wish I had read before booking you pay for parking daily. We will probably go a different route next year.

Elizabeth N.

Yelp
The staff at the front desk was hit or miss. These should be the friendliest people you encounter yet it wasn't true across the board. While they were unable to accommodate early check in they did honor a late check out. My favorite employees were the Valet guys! Prime location and lovely pool! The view was breathtaking! Rooms were clean.

Gregory K.

Yelp
First, the caveat that I visited in December, during the offseason. Things may be different if you go at peak tourist season. This is an excellent hotel, friendly staff, clean rooms, gorgeous views. Even my room, which wasn't advertised as partial ocean view, did in fact have an ocean view through one of the windows. That was a nice surprise. I had a corner room, that may be why. Executive lounge was open, offerings were decent, but not as good as downstairs at the restaurant. Perhaps to be expected though. Speaking of restaurant, breakfast buffet was amazing, with made to order omlettes and more, and the strawberry shortcake dessert was so good too. I had no problem with the elevators, the longest I had to wait was a couple minutes and usually much less. But one elevator didn't go to the club floors so we had to send it away if it was there so one of the others would come. That was annoying but easy to solve. Parking in the garage was simple. There were signs threatening towing if hotel guests parked in the wrong spot, but staff said to ignore them and I wasn't towed. Va Beach City website says guests need a hang tag, but that wasn't true either. Again, I visited in the offseason, during peak tourist season it might be different. All in all, a good hotel, and it's eligible for the Resort Credit if you have a certain Hilton Honors card. I might not have paid to spend a summer vacation here, especially as I hate beaches, but it was an enjoyable visit in the off season during my visit to the Hampton Roads area.

Dennis M.

Yelp
It's an Okay place. Really in need of a renovation - probably because in the summer it is a popular place. It's showing its wear and tear. The location is very good - near the north end of the resort area. Near Duck Donuts and the 30 something numbered streets. An easy boardwalk to either side of the Va Beach Beach area. Needs paint, repair and attention - especially for the price. We had concierge lounge access with the free breakfast. not bad for being free, and the employees working the area were very accommodating and nice. We received some points at check in. Beds were comfy, view was good. Just needs a reno. Recommended for area and service.

Lori N.

Yelp
Arrived late and was greeted by smiling staff. We were on the 19th floor and had a great view. Beds were comfortable and the room was clean. Also updated and has all toiletries you need.

Linda W.

Yelp
I always stay here when I visit VA Beach. Accommodations are always good, staff is always pleasant and helpful. This is my first time off season and stay was great as usual. Elevator may have been out but it did not hinder anything. Appears that work is being done for some upgrades. Location is perfect for beach access and other stores. Pricing of rooms was appropriate and expected for Hilton. Recommend highly.

Shawnna H.

Yelp
The pictures are a accurate representation of the hotel. It was clean and the beds very comfortable! We opted to lay off electronics and just listen to the waves crashing (great sleep aide), the balcony was a major plus. The hotel offers everything you need in plus tons of restaurants, bars etc in the immediate area.

Max W.

Yelp
Good rooms, liked the rooftop bar and pool, but didn't like the long lines at elevators.

Eric D.

Yelp
The only issue I faced was that it smelled like sewage in the lobby but I doubt that it was there fault. The hotel was very clean. There was a Polar Plunge that had just ended, inshallah, and the people were clearing away. Why someone would do that is beyond me but good for you. I was in an oceanfront room, 1211, and it was so nice. I don't know why but the shower really stood out for me since it was quite large and it was a cold day so it just seemed right. There are three elevators and I made it to my room in no time, i am not sure why everyone else is in a tizzy about the elevators, they were fine for me. The room was large and smelled clean. What more can you ask for! The breakfast buffet was excellent. i was there in the off season but it was fresh and tasty. I don't think it was too expensive either, you did have to walk outside to get there but maybe there is an indoor way. The parking wasn't bad, I just parked in the deck and walked over. No towing. Here is a video of my room. https://youtu.be/xIRKrDHlxdk

Yelp
This hotel will be a hard pass for any future visits to Virginia Beach. Other reviews mention that there is always a wait for the elevator. I failed to realize how painful this would be every time we left our room. There are 3 elevators, that are in no way synced, so it often felt like only one elevator was working (one may have been actually broken). There is very, very loud live music on the weekends (not sure about weekdays). When we were there, it started around 5-6pm and went until 10-11pm. It was loud enough that you could not have a conversation on the balcony without shouting and we also needed to really jack up the volume to hear the TV over the music. This might not be an issue for everyone, but this alone would make me not pick this hotel again. There was an issue with the AC in our room. Maintenance guy #1 comes up, pulls out the filter, and it was clear that it had likely been years since it had been changed. This did not fix the issue on the first try and we needed to have someone come up and work on it 2 more times. No one from the hotel acknowledged that there had been so many issues with our room. It feels like they may be having some management issue. We felt like we were staying at a rundown budget hotel instead of a Hilton. Very disappointing.

Ana R.

Yelp
Check in took a little longer than expected, and we were disappointed with the room. It's a general size room with two very small and uncomfortable "queen" size beds. The views were spectacular and the staff was lovely but we left a day early because we could not have a good night's rest in those beds. I recommend staying far from the elevators. Ocean view rooms are 100% worth it.

John H.

Yelp
Not a good experience. Stayed at many Hilton's over many years. Always have had top notch service until now. Not sure how Oceanfront VB Hilton can even keep the Hilton flag. Poor service, poor room service, poor customer service. No where near Hilton's normal quality of service. What a shame.

Kristy W.

Yelp
The Hilton Virginia Oceanfront is one of my favorite memories and time's that my husband and I have had. We've stayed there during season and off, as well as trying different types of rooms. I highly recommend the ocean and city view combo. The room service is fantastic!! The staff is always willing to help with anything you need.

Jeffrey S.

Yelp
I have stayed at many, many a Hilton brand hotels for business and leisure every year. While the location of this Hilton is excellent to say the least, the room has a lot to be desired. I am used to Hiltons amazing attention to detail, but this stay is a '0'. The dresser drawer is both damaged and one drawer will not shut. Had to wedge it shut with a plastic folded container. The room had tremendous damage all about. The bathroom was a hot mess. No attention to detail and it looks like hotel maintenance needs some fundamental help in how to make repairs including the caulking job that was something from motel 8. Also there is rust on the door jambs and edges exposed, chipped paint everywhere and no attention to cleaning corners. I was totally shocked by the lack of attention to detail. This is NOT normally found in a Hilton brand hotel. In fact, I can't believe it is in this condition as their brand. Again, this is not typical of most Hiltons I stay at over the year. We were hear for a cheer competition and several of the other rooms of teammates were close to the same. Also, don't use the ice machines here. Look under the "hood" of the machines. They desperately need disinfected, cleaned and bleached. The health department may want to inspect the machines that are in desperate need of cleaning. Ice machines are notoriously a cesspool of growing organisms unless properly and routinely cleaned. Hilton needs to send in their quality control team to this location. This was not remotely even worth the $229 night. Disappointed and shocked as this location is not the norm for Hilton.

Yelp
My family and I love coming here for our summer vacations. And it really seems as though every single year it gets worse and worse. This year, was hands down the worst experience ever. We cut our trip short because we couldn't take it anymore. Imagine 21 floors in a hotel running on ONE elevator! Everyone would pack in like sardines and as much as I was annoyed by people cramming in even though it was already full, I had to accept it because I too would grow irritated after waiting forever for the elevator! (Not so fun fact, the elevators have an 8 person capacity. Go figure because who follows that?!) Does management not care? They lost so many guests today. To make matters worse, there was an entire day where the pool was closed for some reason. Why would a pool be closed during a holiday weekend!? I'm just beside myself because I feel like our one vacation was ruined by such ridiculous things.

Timothy S.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel and great centralized location on the beach. Walking distance to everything. But be warned. DO NOT pay extra to upgrade to a high floor. We did this thinking we would enjoy the view from the balcony. Yes, the view was incredible. But on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights the roof top bar turns into a club from 10pm to 2am. The bass from the club kept us up all night the last 3 nights of our vacation. We are really disappointed for how much we paid to stay here. I am contacting Hilton to ask for a refund of at the very least the cost we paid to upgrade to a higher floor. We would have rated this 4 or 5 stars without this issue. If we stayed on the lower floors, I think our trip would have been perfect. But paying for this "upgrade" really kind of ruined the experience.

Patrick B.

Yelp
Website Pictures look amazing, actually not that great. Josh at Front Desk was helpful as were valet Gentleman. Our Room was a double with a balcony on 14 th floor with a great view Our Room was Clean Pool Area on rooftop is super cool yet the whole area was Over crowded and Dirty , indoor pool was murky and Hot tub was lukewarm and more like a swirl than a jacuzzi Bottom line There are Better Choices nearby One and done

T. S.

Yelp
Horrible service here they also said breakfast is free and after we ate they were trying to give us a bill

Gerald H.

Yelp
Nice facility with friendly and helpful staff. Unfortunately a few of the elevators were not working. Long waits and hot weather resulted in several heated arguments at the elevators. The symphony performance in the outdoor venue next door made it a very nice evening. Drinks and food at Catch 31 restaurant or at the rooftop pool while enjoying the ocean view is hard to beat. The Hilton Oceanfront Hotel at Virginia Beach (concierge lounge floor) is my favorite place to stay but they need to get the elevators working.

Jean N.

Yelp
We enjoyed our stay at this Hilton. The staff were kind and helpful. The room was well appointed, bed was comfortable. However there were some issues. There were super long waits for the elevator, but to the hotel's credit they have a sign next to the elevators listing the busy times of the day for them. They need to get the broken elevator/s repaired. From reading other comments it appears this has been an issue for years. Soundproofing between the rooms was terrible. We could literally hear the conversations and the baby in the room next door. Also the phone in the room did not work so we to use our cell phone to call down to the front desk. The toilet handle was flimsy and should be fixed --- you had to flush several times to get it to work. The bathroom light was so dim you could barely see anything. The functionality of the room door swipe card key was intermittent. Other conference attendees mentioned having the same issue. The hotel restaurant "Catch 31" was completely overpriced. They added a 20% gratuity automatically to the bill and then added another blank line on the bottom of the total, so if you didn't read your bill carefully you'd end up giving them a 30 or 40% gratuity on an already overpriced meal.

Yelp
Only reason I gave this hotel two stars is the location is perfect! You walk RIGHT OUT INTO THE BLVD! Watch the sun rise from your balcony and enjoy all that is fun about Virginia beach.. without driving anywhere.. But the cleanliness moto a fricken joke! I swear someone was in my room less than an hr before I checked in showering! There was water and hair in the basin, sink and floor . Sadly I had unpacked after a long flight before I noticed all the filth and too tired to switch rooms.. used a whole can of Lysol and a pack of disinfecting wipes before I settled in for the first night. The front desk staff was "nice" enough to provide me with Cleaner's to CLEAN MY OWN ROOM .. yup location location location!! Bring your own cleaning supplies and you'll have a great time

Patsy W.

Yelp
It hurts me to do this, usually very pleased with Hilton, here on vaca for the last night in Va Beach, traveling. Stayed the majority of our time at another Hilton, here for one night..... The worst!!!!!! Reservations made well in advance, from one Hilton to another. Entry time here 4pm, not admitted till 4:17, room NOT ready. Then they lost our luggage rack didnt arive until 4:39. Unpleased to say the least! And the room quality under parr. Scuff marks all over the bed. Furniture looks like they bought it at good will. Rating 5 for location, 1 for presentation.

Oakie W.

Yelp
I was targeted as if I could not pay for a bottle of wine. I have been going there since they opened and today the bartender charged my credit card for $1 to see if my card was good to pay for lunch and a bottle of wine. I left after this treatment and I didn't see that others were charged in advance. I'm livid at this point and not going back for that kind of treatment. They probably don't want folks like me there anyway, who can pay....I'm a local Va Beach/ Chesapeake citizen. SMH

Yelp
Hmmm, this is a hard one. On one hand, in comparison to its neighbors this place is a freakin' 5-star resort, but for anyone who is well-traveled, the flaws definitely show. So for a backstory, I moved to Virginia 14 years ago with my job. Moved from the Charleston, SC area--Mt Pleasant, specifically, which is a beach town. As a kid I lived in Myrtle Beach (my dad was stationed at the Air Force base) and Virginia Beach reminds me of Myrtle Beach. But it's sort of like what New Orleans is to Charleston...the seedier, more experienced sister city who deserves to be treated much better than she is...someone just needs to show her the love and care she deserves. The girl has gorgeous beaches, she just needs the tourist area to catch up. Back to the Hilton. For its location and the current state of Virginia Beach, it's the best. But if you have visited other hotels around the country and world, you will quickly see the flaws. The price is steep for the location and, while it's a newer hotel, she is showing some wear and tear. For example, we had to listen to the tub running the entire weekend because there was literally no way to turn it off. Also, the bed was like sleeping on bricks...I tossed and turned, and then ached the next day. The decor was tired. Positives...the rooftop pool and jacuzzi, and the pool bar, although the setup was weird. Let me explain...when you walk onto the rooftop area there is a 'bar' to the left and a bar to the right. After we made this mistake ourselves in walking to the left and watching every single person after us make the same mistake, we realize they are set up incorrectly. Every single person walked off the elevator and walked to the left to find the bar. When they did show up at the faux bar, the guy working there had to explain he was there to just make food. Drinks and food are all ordered at the bar to the right...kinda backward. It was kind of funny to watch group after group make the same mistake. I do think the beach is pretty and I can't figure out if it is status quo or if things are in transition and on the rise. Either way, I hope Virginia and Virginia Beach invest in cleaning things up and making it feel safer for tourist...more will come! And I hope the Hilton throws some money into this hotel...she deserves a facelift.

Yelp
STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL!!!! The exterior of the hotel looks nice but that was about it. Customer Service is horrible. The bellman took our luggage and stuff to the back room without brought them up to us and after 30 minutes, I had to hunt down our luggage and brought it up ourselves. Poor hotel management and this hotel needs MAJOR UPGRADE...Ridiculously we had to wait over 15 minutes to ride on the elevators. Such a big hotel but only two elevators are in operation. Will DEFINITELY NOT COMING BACK TO THIS HOTEL OR ANY HILTON HOTEL. This is our 3rd hilton hotels and allmof them we had bad experience.

Marta W.

Yelp
What has happened to this hotel??!!!! Under the new owners (Shaheen), this place has gone downhill! This is our second stay within 5 months and both were horrible! They even had to refund me for my earlier stay due to the room condition. This time they only gave me a few points (I'm a Diamond Member), and did not even reduce the room rate. If you call the main number and hit "5" for the front desk, either no one answers or the call hangs up. Even worse, from our hotel room we called the Operator, and it rang busy! Our room was hot as the condenser was frozen. Two maintenance men show up, ask for my hairdryer, and proceed to try to melt the ice on the condenser for 42 minutes!!! Incompetence!!! Hotel manager was totally inflexible...only gave lip service, but did not do anything!! Hallways were hot, one elevator was out as it was five months earlier during our previous stay. This place is going downhill FAST!! It should be a Motel 6....not a Hilton!!!

Heather W.

Yelp
I was shocked by the state of this hotel. Hilton is usually such a reputable name but don't waste your $$ on this one. Walls in the lobby were crumbling, tiles in the hot tub missing, full of sand at the bottom, and common areas littered with empty containers. I had to ask 4 times for towels and a hairdryer. I was supposed to have my room cleaned today. Came back to the trash emptied and that's it. Don't bother valeting your car unless you want to wait an hour when you want it again. This place is SUBPAR TO SAY THE LEAST.

Yelp
The stars are for the hotel staff alone. Everyone we engaged with, was friendly, helpful. BUT - The facility is in constant disrepair. For example, recent stay this week: only two of three elevators working, leaving guests with 10+-minute waits -- unacceptable since stay two years ago, had same issue! Elevators can be repaired! We paid $$$ for club level, but that floor elevator lobby had not been updated (as was visible in comparison to lower floors). Ripped furniture in our room (photo) and poor maintenance on balcony (photo). For the $$$,next time I'm in the area, I'm staying elsewhere.

Yelp
Garbage hotel. Elevators barely worked one didn't work at all. Key card would not let me to the floor I was on or to the pool. This hotel is a joke. Club lounge often had no food. Right outside the hotel on the beach was a beach bar with live music that played almost to 2AM and since I had an oceanfront room it kept me up half the night.

Yelp
I will never stay at this resort again. I booked the penthouse sweet to celebrate my son's 16th bday with five of his friends. During our stay there was an incident and police were on our floor. My kids volunteered information to the police about what they saw. Later that evening, Management with two police officers were at my door. Management informed me that I was being evicted and I asked why and she said she did not have to tell me. After asking numerous times police told me why. Said my children had a verbal Altercation with guest below us on the balcony and reported they had a weapon as well as they we harassing a 14 year old girl. I went on to ask when, where and by who. Of course they did not tell me or produce evidence, they did not take statements nor did they say if we were being charged, Hilton took the word of others and we had no say so of them evictimizing us. We were guilty in there eyes. Hilton procedures are one sided, We were wrongly accused, discriminated against and racial profiled. I don't care what race u are but I would not ever recommend this hotel to no one. Protect your self and your family of mistreatment because of the color of your skin and stay somewhere else and stay somewhere other then Virginia beach!!!! Hotel was below standard , unsatisfactory in all categories and management is disrespectful, improperly trained, biased, and does not.care about the welfare of the guests, except those doing the accusing. They will have a lawsuit against them!!! Do I need to they my rating??? Zero out of Zero they don't deserve anything!!! #racist#unfairtreant#guilty#racialprofiling#discrimination!!!!

Yelp
Excellent hotel-friendly, very customer oriented. Had all the amenities we needed! Had indoor heated pool that was awesome. Restaurant on site was very good. We will be repeat customers!

Yelp
We stayed for 5 nights in June 2023 at a cost of $500 per night. It was a HUGH DISAPPOINTMENT! There are 21 floors and only 2 working elevators. (Another guest said that the elevator has been broken for years and Hilton doesn't care. ) We had to carry our luggage down 7 flights because we couldn't get an elevator over 30 minutes and we has to head home. The ice maker was also broken. The hotel is next to a band shell so you hear loud third rate music in the pm. The indoor pool is filled with screaming kids, same with the jacuzzi. The small outdoor pool is great in the pics, but disappointing in person. The sign showing when the chemicals were checked showed it hadn't been checked in 2 weeks. This is not a 4 star hotel as advertised.

Yelp
Welcome to the Hilton hotel, where you are greeted with $400 a night costs, lines from the valet so you have to parking across the street and walk down 4 floors because of broken elevators, then ending with unsatisfied customers all around you at the check-in desk, this is where your money will get you. Already starting this review not the best and will be a total hating post so if not interested I would stop reading now. After entering the hotel because we could not valet our car due to the huge line, we enter the hotel to a decently full lobby with luggage everywhere and stressed out front desk staff. The woman in front of us begins complaining of waiting 20+ minutes for someone to help her and is originally waiting because her hotel keys stop working. Then the front desk staff quickly disclaim to other guests that "oh our keys are having trouble right now FYI" ...but really y'all? (Lol I can't) Once finishing with other guest checking in (15+ min wait) the other front desk staff who couldn't help one guest came to check us in and you could totally tell she was stressed, though Megan got us checked-in quickly and efficiently and asked us if we had questions, her face was totally expressionless and just painful. Once checked-in you will be waiting a good couple of minutes waiting for the elevator because there are only 3. (FYI gym is on the 5th floor) we arrive to our room with our room key working, thankfully, the ocean suite. Cute room and bathroom is a great size for two people. We eventually head down to their catch 21 restaurant for happy hour and a few oysters. - will update the review throughout or stay .

Yelp
Stayed here recently had a few issues I wouldn't associate with the "Hilton" 1. Water was never hot, the shower and sink were lukewarm at best. 2. Attempted to use the in room phone to contact customer service, and it asks you to leave a voicemail. After which it hangs up on you (dial tone) 3. Parking, your going to park at a public parking structure across the street with a bridge taking you to the 2nd floor. After that you will need to take the stairs/elevator to the lobby. They give you a sticker that your supposed to scan at the entrance/exit of the parking garage to get in and out for the duration of your stay. I had to replace this ticket daily, because it kept erroring on me. 4. Wasn't impressed with the at hotel restaurants either.

Yelp
2 out of 4 elevators are and have been out of order. The staff use the other elevators effectively leaving 1 elevator for 8 floors. The soap, shampoo, and conditioner vessels were empty upon arrival, and the dispenser was hanging from the wall. There were several areas in the ceiling which had been hand patched. All of the USB receptacles were broken and most of the outlets were loose and did not work. The fire alarm was set off in the middle of the night. In short, stay at a holiday inn or marriott.

Yelp
Excited for alittle R&R at the beach, I booked an oceanfront room. The contactless checkin was not working so I had to checkin the old fashion way. The staff were courteous. The lobby was dimly lit. To my suprise there were only two elevators which made for long wait times. The biggest con was the dated rooms that clearly needed a maintenance refresh, including to address a moldy bathroom. The balcony had chipping paint and was dirty as well. I routinely stay with the Hilton brand all across the country over the last 15+ years and aside from the convenient $10 parking (with in and privileges), this location is a disappointment.

Yelp
No tea available at this hotel. Seriously - found none with the in room coffee upon check in, and requested to have some in the room the next day, but no tea was left. As I had to call to request towels as the maid did not leave any, and requested tea again. Was told there is no tea in the hotel. And I did not even bother to request a clock for the nightstand - they are probably out of clocks as well. I have had better service at LA Quinta and Holiday Inn Express. Reccomend staying there for better service and a much better price.

Yelp
This is a beautiful hotel with a central, ocean-front location. Rooms are spacious, clean, and bright with all the necessary amenities. There are several high end restaurants and bars inside, as well as heated rooftop pools and hot tubs, which are great even for chilly days. The staff will bend over backwards to accommodate you; if you need something, just ask. I highly recommend staying as an Empyrean club member, which grants you access to a lovely lounge and bar that serves a hot breakfast, snacks throughout the day, appetizers during happy hour, and cookies at night. Minor complaints include a finicky elevator and rapidly changing water temperature in the bathrooms.

Yelp
I thought I did a lot of research on accommodations on the boardwalk, I thought wrong. My two kids and I just got home yesterday "from California" after a 7 night stay at the Hilton Virginia Beach Oceanfront. We checked in late in the evening which was no issue except, there's no communication from the desk clerk when checking in. I asked where to park and was told across the street which was fine. It was the parking attendant that told me to go to the front desk to get a sticker to allow us to come and go. I did learn later if you walk across the bridge to the hotel there's a sign that tells you to bring your ticket to the front desk for your parking pass. I wasn't told that there was a $10.00 per day charge that would appear on my bill. Once in our room we had two sets of towels for three of us, so I went on a hunt for an additional set. After speaking with the desk I was told they would not enter our room unless we requested it to be cleaned. So I went on the hunt for toilet paper and tissues as well. I didn't feel we needed a full cleaning just to get items that should have been stocked as well.. We ended up eating at the hotel the first night for dinner at Catch 31 and although good, it was incredibly expensive. One pound of crab legs with nothing else was $40.00. I'm not complaining about this it was our choice. And I highly recommend the artichoke dip, it's $11.00 and comes with pita bread for dipping. The service was slow but very polite. The following morning we learned that Catch 31 turns into a breakfast buffet. Prior to being seated we were asked if we were a gold or diamond member which we are not. The buffet was nothing special, no special orders just your standard eggs, bacon, sausage, cut potatoes, toast, muffins, danish, fruit, cream of wheat and oatmeal. I should have asked the price for the buffet because your not given a menu or told. Needless to say $75.39 for breakfast for myself and two kids was way to high for the buffet and what was provided. The hotel indicates they have vending machines which the do for a limited number of snacks, most the spots were empty. There are no soda or drink vending machines at all. You need to get that from the restaurant/bar but it's only open until 10pm and we waited 15 minutes for a server to bring this to us, to go. There's no room service. This hotel is more suited for no children, it's not kid friendly. Even the roof top pool which was pretty but provided no services other then a bar. So with kids "at least mine" get hungry and it meant we needed to leave the hotel for food because the limited service times and expense. It was so much cheaper to leave and go somewhere else. This was extremely inconvenient. After checking out and leaving the was a family that did a Walmart run with multiple bags of food, I wish I thought of this. Overall not impressed, there was nothing notable that would ever draw me to stay at this hotel again. I ended up with a hotel bill of $2739.49 with only one breakfast charged to the room, I wasn't prepared for $75.00. You can go down the street and pay $5.99 and essentially get the same thing only fresh and hot.

Yelp
The hotel is in a good location if you are looking for boardwalk / easy walking access to other amenities and right on the beach. The rooms were clean and comfy. The service itself was what was lacking. As others on here have said, when you call the front desk for items they just don't deliver. We had to ask for towels and toiletries to be placed at the front desk for us to pick up after calling twice to try to get the items. There always seemed to be a line at the desk.

Yelp
Check in is confusing - the entrance is not large enough to accommodate guest check in and the parking area is around the corner. The hotel "ran out of" shampoo and instead of admitting it, made me wait an hour for a "last little bottle" that never came. Unbelievable doesn't begin to describe the unprofessional nature of a 3* (as if) hotel running out of shampoo! I hesitated to book a Hilton and this absolutely confirms my concerns. Never again.

Yelp
We have stayed annually for 11 years while attending an event. Years ago this was a top notch place. A person out front waived you to a stop. A valet obtained your car key and a bellman loaded your luggage. Last year we had to find a luggage cart and push it to our room. This year the only bellman that I saw loaded our luggage and took it to storage as we were early and the room was not ready. When the room was ready there was no bellman at 3:45. Lady at the desk said "he" may be at lunch and she pushed the cart to the room. The hotel advertises 289 rooms and there are three elevators. One of the elevators was out our entire three day stay. I think the same was out two of our days last year. I could not get ice out of the machine on our floor. The housekeeping person said it probably does not work. She tried it and said she would notify engineering. The next day we walked down the stairs and that didn't work either. I told the desk that the ice machine doesn't work. She will tell engineering. Our room had a nice looking walk in shower with a glass door. The shower put out a small single stream of water. There are long waits for the two elevators and no air circulating in them. The hallways are hot and stuffy. A few years ago when ready to check out they would send a bellman to your room if you requested it and order your car. Last year I had to go down and wait for a cart and load the luggage and push it out. This year I found "the bellman". He was quite helpful. Our stay was as always in a Club Level oceanfront room. The best. There were four of us in two similar rooms on the same floor as we have traveled there together all these years. The four of us were so happy to leave. This is the best beach front location there. The original owner sold it a few years ago. Maybe that explains why it has gone down hill. Its a shame.
