Hilton Is Recycling Half-used Soap From Hotel Rooms - Here's What'll Happen to It

"Hilton Hotels is collaborating with Clean the World, an organization that collects used soaps from hotels, melts them down, sanitizes them, and creates brand new bars of soap for people in need. Hilton Hotels announced that it will collect used bars of soap from its hotels, including Embassy Suites, Hilton Garden Inn, Hampton, Homewood Suites and Home2 Suites, and turn them over to Clean the World for recycling. Hilton has also launched a plan to reduce its carbon emissions by 61 percent by reducing plastic and water consumption, and has teamed up with other charities in the past to recycle its soap." - Travel + Leisure Editors

We had to stay at this hotel due to our flight being delayed. It is beautiful on the inside. The bar area is nice as well. There was only one person in the kitchen cooking, and she had to deal with a rush of airport patrons coming in. I admire that kind of work ethic. My fiance loved his burger! The drinks at the bar were good as well! I got one of their seasonal drinks. It was so good. He had a rum and coke. It was STRONG 🤣 The room was spacious. They let us stay an extra hour after check out since the flight left later that day. During check-in, there was no attitude detected from the front desk staff. In fact, she was extra kind and gave us a bottle of water. I would like to stay here when I can experience the hotel in a more leisurely way. It was an absolute privilege to experience this hotel.

We stayed for one night after a late arrival at Dulles. The shuttle from the airport to the hotel was very nice and the driver was courteous. We checked in and the front desk attendant was less then friendly. I don't think he said a word to us. Not even welcome or thank you. The hotel is BIG and as others have said, it's confusing to find you room. The room itself was large and clean. Granted it was older and dated but was fine for our one night. The bed was very comfortable. It was a bit on the noisy side with voices from the hall clearly heard in the room along with slamming doors. We ate at the restaurant and the food and service was good. We had no complaints other than the prices were a little on the high side. The price for our room was very reasonable and we considered a good value.

United Airlines contracts this hotel for flight delays. Unfortunately we were caught up in their mess. This is a nice hotel for this purpose. I was put in a similar situation several years back and the hotel that we were corralled into was a complete disaster. This hotel, for this purpose, was not. We checked in at 0200 in the morning, no issues, breakfast was fine. The flip side of this was United only provides only a $30.00 credit for two people and the main courses are going to go over this. So, that cost us a little more, but after what we went through a few years back, I was fine with the extra cost. The hotel provides a shuttle. We signed up for the 1030 service, it left early, but another driver jumped in and took us, so that was really kind. |This review comes only from a guest that used the United flight delay voucher process. I thought the hotel staff did a great job. We were there for only about eight hours though.

First off, every single employee at this hotel was INCREDIBLY nice and helpful! All my experienced with the hotel staff were a positive one. There are only three downsides to this hotel: 1.- it is old and it looks it. Which is fine, but it does make the feel of the stay different. Someone in my group described it as "visiting The Backrooms." 2.- the food prices are stronomically high. The food is fine, but I wouldn't say it matched what I paid. 3.- while the rooms were overall clean... despite my room having a remodeled bathroom with a waterfall shower head, the holes on the shower head were clogged?? I had to unclog them and then it worked fine. Again, these 3 things stand out because the overall stay was great! Otherwise, I don't think these would've stood out.

NO POOL - Pool out of order / closed for years. Air conditioning wouldn’t work cooler than 79, shower sounded like a freight train was passing overhead. No apology or offer to accommodate from the staff, despite me being in my 7th month of pregnancy and sweating profusely alongside my toddler. Interiors haven’t been upgraded in a decade at least. I was told they were too full and that was the best room they had. Moldy orange carpet from decades past on the walls. I’m in the wrong business because at over $200 per night this place must be printing money taking advantage of people whose flights are cancelled. Shuttle only goes to and from airport. Wallpaper peeling in lobby…. It’s amazing Hilton themselves don’t enforce brand standards at this place. The proprietors clearly do not care as their business is guaranteed thanks to terrible airline service.

This hotel suffers from some serious design flaws that really impacted my stay. The layout is confusing, with an inconsistent room numbering system and poorly designed maps that make navigation frustrating right from the start. Once inside the room, the noise is relentless. The walls are so thin that I could hear toilets flushing, conversations, and doors opening and closing from every direction. The building design seems to amplify sound rather than contain it, making it hard to get any rest. The most frustrating part? No refrigerator in the room. That may seem minor, but I’m getting ready to go on a very long trip where my favorite soda water will be unavailable so it's my last night to enjoy it. I didn’t think to confirm that there's a fridge because it’s typically standard at nearly every price point. Lugging beverages to the room only to find nowhere to cool store them was incredibly disappointing. To be fair, the room itself is spacious and clean, with a large shower and plenty of space. It's probably a great space for large groups. But the overall experience was frustrating enough that I wouldn’t choose to stay here again. I’m trying to resist the urge to continue ranting however, the staff was very kind. In the video I shared, I’m in a room alone -- every sound is from the hall, the rooms above or beside me.

I have to say thank you to the drivers here. I didn’t get his name he was an older man but I was told the night before the van was every 30 minutes. I am delta crew and delta told me they scheduled a van for 6:45 at 6:48 no one came from the company they scheduled. The driver at Hilton offered to take me and he apologized and it wasn’t even his doing. He got me to the airport on time and said we try to do our best to take care of crew. It was such a small gesture that meant a lot

This was a very pleasant stay. A group of six of us had missed our connecting flight from Barcelona to Burlington, and were rebooked early in the morning. We were looking for something with a shuttle, food, a good night's sleep and close to the airport. This was perfect. We booked while at the airport, caught the shuttle quickly, checked in and had a nice dinner. The shuttle promptly delivered us the next morning. No free continental breakfast -- breakfast was $22 per one of the other guests -- that was probably the only disappointment.||This hotel was a much better experience than the airport itself -- that was a nightmare!

Yelp
A cool curvy building that is getting a little long in the tooth. The furniture in the room is a hodgepodge of some different design eras, but the sink is new. Everything is reminiscent of old school Hilton decor. My bed pushed back against me and the thermostat was argumentative at midnight. Not my best sleep, but it will do. The shower was perfectly powerful and cut my cleaning time in half and I liked the hotel soap; that was a plus.

Yelp
Room is ok. Bed is old. Sheets and pillows are good. On-site computer is garbage. Breakfast was buffet till 11am was meh ! Coffee was garbage, eggs scrambled was garbage, sausage was paper, gym is good, bathrooms were good, elevator was good. Receptionist was good. Proximity to airport is 7 min so good. Architecture and infrastructure was 90s build. Shuttle service is nice . Staff are nice . Facilities overall good . Areas of improvement : microwave in rooms, mini fridge would be nice , breakfast customer handling and hot food quality
google avatar

Akira C.

Yelp
Loved the exterior , but it's in the middle of basically nothing so it gave me a creepy vibe taking a taxi here at midnight. The service at the front desk was prompt & welcoming. No issues at all checking in or checking out. The shuttle bus to the airport was on time - this is a plus. Now, the rooms: -they were old, dingy & run down. -it was as clean as possible, but I didn't feel comfortable even laying on the bed because of how old everything appeared to be. -the curtains in the middle do not shut all the way so you're left with the white sheer curtains which, if you turned on the light at night, people would be able to see in. (Not a great feeling when you're in a hotel alone)
google avatar

Yelp
Stayed here for a park and fly. Old full service Hilton near the Dulles airport. You can tell it's been around for a minute by the fixtures in the rooms and the decor. Old but clean. They have a shuttle service that goes to the airport on the :15 and :45. I can't say I got the best service with that. Dude literally made my brother lift the luggage in and out of the van coming back from Europe. But it's a free service provided so YMMV. Restaurants on site so (paid) breakfast is available and so is dinner. Can't attest to the food as we arrived back in the country too late for me to want food, though my brother got a burger and seemed pleased with his selection. Overall, okay for an airport park and fly hotel option.

Yelp
The only dinner option at 6pm was in the bar -- burger & fries were undercooked, including the "sauteed mushrooms". Although my room was very nice the remote to the huge tv did not work and the batteries actually fell out. The gift shop had a large 7 shelf display of MAGA -- trump merchandise. I asked where the Harris merch was, she waved her arm. I could not find it, she showed me ONE tshirt in a closet area. For a major Washington DC hotel with an abundance of corporate meeting rooms that I USED to consider top quality, this is in extremely poor taste -- ALL THE WAY AROUND. I shall drop my Hilton Honors program. No Thanks!! NO STARS
google avatar

Yelp
A very nice Hilton with a very nice grand lobby. Attentive reception staff. Somewhat dimly lit hallways with clean carpets. Our room was amazing and had unexpectedly hearty water pressure and better than usual imperfect lighting. Nice outdoor sitting area too! I would look forward to staying here again.

Yelp
Les at the front desk is AWESOME!! Les has great CS and people skills!! Easy check in. Easy parking. Nice and clean. Thank you.

Yelp
Stunningly in disrepair... Common area carpets AND room carpets are stained My bathroom DIDN'T HAVE A DOOR! It was some crazy glass slider that neither closed nor locked. The furniture drawers were mismatched. And it wasn't until I arrived that they said there would be a $50 early check-in fee, which the phone rep didn't mention, and that was despite the room being ready. Look at the photo of the TINY PILLOWS! And no rubber mat or non-slip protection in the shower, next to the toilet that took a long while to flush. The room also looked like a 2nd grader made the decisions. I have to think that this is a franchisee-owned location. Hilton may need to pay a visit. Total mess.
google avatar

Bill A.

Yelp
I say this without hyperbole...this was the worst hotel room I have ever stayed in. When I walked into the room, it reeked of mildew and substantive portions of the carpet were wet. The room I reserved was supposed to be a king bed with refrigerator. Instead, I was given a double bed and had to request a refrigerator be brought to the room, then had to request a refrigerator be brought to the room again. When the maintenance person delivered it, I asked if all of the rooms were so humid and smelled like this one. His response was a chuckle and a simple "yeah". And if this was all that was wrong, I probably could have been OK. But here are the much more substantive issues: - The wallpaper above the bed was peeling off. Other parts of the room had wallpaper starting to fall off the wall. - There was a piece of glass on the floor of the bathroom that I found by stepping on it. - The room was infested with ants. I am not exaggerating when I say that I killed at least 40 of them. After the first 10-15, I started piling up the dead ants just so they could see how bad it was. They were on the floor, on the desk, on the end table, on the desk, and in the bed. - There was a broken outlet on the desk where the inner blades of the outlet were completely exposed. I actually found tape to cover it because if someone touched the exposed blades, it could have killed them. - The refrigerator they brought to the room looked like it had been beaten with a baseball bat and was covered in a slimy film. - The lamp shade appeared that it had been completely crushed, then put back onto the lamp itself. - The light cover in the bathroom was filled with dead bugs. No idea how many were ants, but it certainly appeared as though there were several different types of dead carcuses that had been there for quite some time. - The hallways had a lot of small pieces of broken glass in the carpet, in addition to more peeling wallpaper. - The ceiling showed evidence of significant water damage and a very poor repair job. I ended up leaving the hotel with a nasty sinus infection, a cut on the bottom of my foot, and a suitcase that reeked of mildew. So to say that I would never want to stay at this hotel again is an understatement. I travel 40+ weeks per year and have been a loyal Hilton brand user, but this was a completely awful four days that I would never want to repeat again.

Yelp
My flight got cancelled and missed my connection at IAD. Airlines gave me this hotel as one of the options to stay until my new flight which was in the afternoon next day. Hotel was pretty close to the airport and their shuttle was prompt. Check in was easy. I got a room on the 5th floor. It was a decent room, well kept and bathroom was clean. The only weird thing about the room was there was no lock on the bathroom door. It was a sliding door and I noticed that when the light is on, the door is not entirely opaque. You could see the silhouette of the person inside. I was alone in the room, so it was not a bother, but imagine traveling with somebody. I used their gift shop to purchase a few toiletries and their salon for a quick haircut. Same person managed both the businesses and she was very friendly and chatty. Had dinner at their restaurant and food was pretty good. Overall had a pleasant stay here.

Yelp
The hotel needs some help. It is older and dated. The beds are the most uncomfortable that I have experienced in quite some time. The bathrooms are need a refresh. I was on the first floor and turned on the hot water and eventually it got up too lukewarm. The staff seem nice and friendly. The restaurant might have been good, but I didn't try it. Overall I would not recommend this hotel to stay at, which is not what the place needs, it needs funds to get it updated.

Shamekka P.

Yelp
Such a nice hotel. The staff is super friendly and the rooms are clean and comfortable. I just spent one night, but would definitely like to go back and spend more time at the hotel. Maybe even check out one of the restaurants on the hotel grounds. A wedding destination definitely. Also a nice place to relax and shop which is why we were there.

Ms M.

Yelp
I'd give it 5 stars except for a couple of concerns. Gorgeous landscaping, most beautiful hotel I'd seen near an airport. Rooms were up-to-date & well maintained. (I do not understand all the negative reviews, unless they stayed at a different hotel & posted in the wrong place.) I loved the "rainforest" shower in our room. We only ate one hotel-provided meal, a Mexican buffet provided to our group. Food was excellent! The swimming pool temperature was perfect, the health club machines all worked. The hot tub was only luke-warm, however. Biggest complaint: My roommate turned the a/c too cold for my comfort so I asked for a blanket (surprisingly there were none in the closet). I asked 3 times before I finally got one! Left the maid a note with a tip. She took the tip but no blanket. Asked (personally) a guy at the front desk. He promised, but 2 hours later, nothing. I called the front desk from the room, & finally a blanket appeared. Also my roommate, who was in charge of the payment, said the bill they had e-mailed to him after we got home, showed $100 more on his credit card than was shown on the bill. That still hasn't been resolved (no one answered the phone & he left a call-back number, and so far no one called back! If our group uses this hotel again we'll certainly go, but ONLY if the bill is resolved. Otherwise, I LOVED the hotel.

Yelp
This initially started as a 3-star review. The staff seemed nice and it is close to the airport. It looks very date and could really use a remodel. I am bumping this to a 4-star because of the awesome gym with free weights and the indoor pool. Well done Hilton, nice redemption.

Yelp
This Hilton is visually dated. It is worn and has seen better days. Came here for a weekend trip to visit the DC area during Christmas. Before I checked in my room was upgraded complimentary from a regular room with a King bed to a King junior suite. And do you know what the difference was, literally more room. They put the same amount of furniture which would have been in the regular King room, in the junior suite. It was even laid out like a regular room, with all the extra area right near the door. It was an odd layout. The room did not have a fridge or microwave. I requested a fridge. It was really beat up and old. Still, it kept my beer cold. The room itself and furniture were worn. And there was a slight smell of dried mildew. Finally, they put a $50 per night hold on your card for incidentals. In my case they charged me twice for $300. I had to spend an hour on the phone to get that fixed. If you have a car they charge $8 per night. And they are dog friendly, but charge an extra $75 if your dog joins you.

Micheal V.

Yelp
Stains everywhere, carpet smells like cat piss, and Old musty people. Shower wasn't even working, maintenance guy took 2 hours bc he was busy fixing other stuff in other rooms, the room is not modern at all, looks like it was made 100 years ago. Not enough working outlets, the bathroom door DIDN'T LOCK OR CLOSE FULLY. 130 dollars a night for the worse hotel I've been in. Overall horrible hotel if I could rate 0 stars I would.

T M.

Yelp
The hotel itself is ok, no problems. I've been here about 5 times over the past year and every single time I have had the same waitress at the hotel bar. She is hateful, rude and acts like you are bothering her when you ask for her to take your order... every time she is foreign, but her name tag says "Gladys" pretty sure people from Syria aren't named Gladys.
google avatar

Ruth C.

Yelp
Well I stayed here again and definitely did not have the same experience like I did with my past stays. Not only was the staff not friendly, but they were far from accommodating at all. The hallways did not smell great probably due to the rain, in addition to lots of stains on the rug. I felt like I entered the Twilight Zone. This whole preferred credit nonsense is starting to make me think I need to start looking at staying at Marriotts again in the near future. This is the most stiff and non-accommodating Hilton experience I have had so far. Makes me wonder if there is new ownership or if there was a huge staff turnover. Very, very disappointing. Not sure I would stay here again...
google avatar

C W.

Yelp
This is the dirtiest, grossest hotel I've every stayed at. It's a disgrace to the Hilton brand. I've had the unfortunate experience of staying here probably over 60 times now, as the company I work for insists on putting us up here every time we come to DC for work. I've been coming here 2-6 times per month for about the past 8 years and every single time it is horrible. I keep begging my company to put us back at the Dulles Westin because that's where we used to stay and it is so much cleaner and better all around. If I could give this hotel zero stars I would. I've stayed in so many rooms here and the are dusty (you can visiblly see it in the corners of her room), moldy, water damaged, stained, smelly, old - I mean I cannot express to you how disgusting this place is. I've found mold and huge bugs in my room multiple times. Especially in the winter most of the rooms the heaters are broken or barely function. This place is a TEAR down. I travel for work and stay at hotels all over the world and this is the worst one. Filthy. Stay anywhere else! The motel 6 is probably even nicer than this dump!!

Yelp
Corporate Hilton should drive down from McClean and rip down the Hilton name off this place. IT IS IN SHAMBLES! DO NOT STAY HERE! So many other options in the area. Dirty, outdated, and cutting every possible corner. First off this hotel is enjoying milking the ability to cut service in the name of Covid. They have many signs saying how much they are Cleaning for your protection! HA the place is so dirty! The restaurant had stains all over the menu, great first impression. He wall next to my table had nasty stains and chunks of food. The menu is extremely limited and some how they they screwed up making a burger. It was raw in the center, the upcharge for the bacon gave me small scraps. The French fries were cold and limp. The ROOM wow, the room. Holes in lamp shades, dust all over, hairs all over the bathroom, a miss match collection of bathroom amenities included stuff you would find in a 1 star hotel. The décor was so out of date, from the late 90s? Not only looks old but everything is old. Bed was horrible. They has a closed executive lounge, once again Covid. Right.. Over all the hotel is falling apart, wallpaper pealing all over the place, stains in the ceiling tiles and carpets in common areas, DIRTY ass elevators and buttons. The staff were not great. Just DO NOT STAY HERE!

Fahrin K.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel. I enjoyed the room and the amenities. The only reason I'm leaving a negative review is because one front desk staff member was very rude when I arrived to check in. My flight was delayed by 2 and 1/2 hours and I arrived after midnight, feeling tired. A man at the front desk whose is Roberto asked whether or not I wanted to put the charge on my credit card or my roommate's card. When I paused for a second to think about it, he got impatient and was rude. I was shocked by his behavior. That's not a reason to be upset with a guest. Please be kind and considerate to guests, especially those who have had a long day and are just arriving to rest. As I said, the hotel is beautiful, but poor behavior by the staff can change the experience and leave a stain in the hotel's reputation.
google avatar

Sarah O.

Yelp
The breakfast isn't free like most Hilton hotels lol. Lord forbid you make the same mistake I did then get treated like a bum and yelled at by the breakfast patrol ladies. I asked the front desk if they had breakfast and he pointed me to the room. I went in and grabbed something and was going to ask the ladies if they had a plastic spoon. They started yelling at me telling me I have to pay for it and I said "....I'm confused but I can pay, not a problem!" They then got mad at me for wanting to pay for it like they weren't expecting that. So at this point I was already sick of getting yelled at infront of everyone which very uncalled for and embarrassing. I set the food down and said actually I'm good. They continued to yell at me about god knows what else. Probably one of the most embarrassing experiences I've had.

Yelp
We got a good deal for a 1 night stay. The staff was nice. The place is a bit dated and a few places in the common area needs some fixing. The ice maker on our floor was broken, but the floor below has a working one. The rooms were decent. We went on New Year's Eve so parking was limited. But i overall it was ok.

Latesha Y.

Yelp
Convenient location, next to Dulles. The hotel is nice but was undergoing reservations when we stayed there. There was some construction noise and smell of new carpet. The room was nice and staff very friendly. The shuttle driver is amazing...so nice, so helpful, and just genuinely happy! I needed his dose of sunshine for this trip! Also the breakfast is really good! The best veggie omelette ever!

Jim B.

Yelp
Nice place for both personal & business events, very space parking, safe & quiet rooms
google avatar

Jay S.

Yelp
I stayed at this location for work, and it was ok. While the room was nice, there was an ant infestation in the hotel. The bartender was very rude, and I doubt I would stay at the location again.
google avatar

Samantha L.

Yelp
Since we had an early flight, we decided to stay at Hilton Washington Dulles Airport. Shout outs to Cedric for making our check in and check out process smooth. When we arrived, our room was ready but the 4:30am shuttle we wanted was already booked so we had to take an earlier shuttle. Being a Diamond member, they upgraded my room from a Double Bed to Double Bed Business Room. The hallway was a bit old but the room was updated with a beautiful bathroom. The bathroom had colorful iridescent tile accents and rainforest shower. I wish we had to time to enjoy the complimentary room upgrade more.

Yelp
Spent the weekend at a conference here. How can I begin? The facility can house a large conference but the food and the service are awful. Got the continental breakfast( or so I thought) 22 dollars for less than average quality food with little choice. Ate lunch in the restaurant lounge which once again was a 22 dollar burger and fries that was below average and took almost an hour to get. In short don't eat here! Door dash is a better option. The room was as expected but no fridge. The one redeeming factor was check in. The front desk was Jonny on the spot and check in was quick and pleasant. I guess I should have stayed at a holiday inn express.
google avatar

Rose B.

Yelp
Guess it wasn't only my room from reading the other reviews - ANTS! Constantly on the desk area. I killed too many then just gave up and decided to accept my little roommates. I had to quit putting my laptop bag on the desk as I would leave the room and find ants crawling on it. Other than ants, no one ever came and straightened the room or replenished anything and I was here 3 nights so no more coffee cups or sugar for me. 2 of the drawers just wouldn't shut. Light by the closet and mirror was just dim purple. Clock was 4 minutes slow (I set it to the correct time) and one of its USB ports didn't work but the other did. Glad I noticed before morning that my phone wasn't charging. Bathroom outlet was "squishy" when you try to plug something in. The whole thing goes into the wall. I was scared to use it. Hallway carpet/wallpaper is grungy, scraped and/or coming off. Bar was fine and staff were nice. Burger was meh and $19. I was at a conference in 3 or 4 ballroom areas. Those were fine (freezing jfyi). In summary: choose a different hotel if you have a choice. Not the end of the world if you don't, but plan on having Formicidae family friends.
google avatar

Polyphemus S.

Yelp
Super old. The wallpapers coming off and the carpet is tearing. The shower door won't open or shut without scraping the ground. Very dark old dingy Hotel

Yelp
Sam the bartender was awesome!!! and my friends were more awesome. Great time. Sam had a witty personality thst made our evening great!

Yelp
This hotel was very nice. I stayed here for training and they gave me a nice room and the gym is awesome. A ton of equipment, a nice indoor pool that you could do laps in. Their restaurant onsite was actually pretty good too. I was pleasantly surprised. I trie both room service and dining in. The dishes are charged more on the room service menu. The location is centrally located and close to the airport. Lots of food options a short distance of the hotel restaurant doesn't appeal.
google avatar

Kenneth T.

Yelp
Not sure how this place had 4 stars on Priceline. It's OK if you're just looking for someplace to spend the night but for the price, I wouldn't aim to stay here. Also, even if your room is ready, they'll nickel and dime you to pay an extra $50ish to check in before the actual checkin time. The rooms aren't up to date and aren't cleaned well. I had a king suite which was still small and the table had ketchup stains by the coffee maker.

Lauren G.

Yelp
The gift shop has "Lets go Brandon" merchandise in the gift shop, which is commonly known as the conservative way of saying "Fuck Biden" publicly. This was a huge turn off and I'm not interested in staying here again. Room was run down but fine.
google avatar

Hanaa K.

Yelp
Clean and quiet. Only reason they lost a star is because of the location/parking lot access. It was hard to maneuver in the snow because it hadn't been cleared. Comfy beds and bathrooms were clean. Nice towels and toiletries. Stay away from the elevator. It has a lot of dings and announcements and people tend to be loud while waiting. Business center is accessible and convenient. It's super close to Dulles airport and they have a shuttle that runs every 15 minutes.
google avatar

Jeff J.

Yelp
My bitch ass flight got delayed so i had to get a shuttle to come to this awesome hotel with a huge walk in shower & comfy beds. They even had a nice little restaurant with a bar! I'll definitely come back in here

Yelp
This Hilton is very easy to get to from the airport and provides regular shuttle service to and from. Upon arriving at the hotel I was very impressed with its size and initial appearance from the driveway. There are seating arrangements literally right off of the driveway, equipped with gas fireplaces that not only provide outdoor seating but provide a very nice ambience immediately upon arriving. The lobby is quite vast in size, has many seating arrangements which are very unique, easy to navigate throughout. The front staff are exceptional, I was disappointed not to see a separate line for diamond members. The check-in was the fastest I have been through at any Hilton thus far. We headed to our room which was a walk and definitely reminded me of how large this hotel was. The hallways reminded me of a casino hotel, maybe due to the color of the wallpaper but I did notice the seams of that wallpaper were starting to show along the hallway, creating a somewhat dated appearance. The interior of the hotel is well maintained and provides a modern touch to elegance. Everything is kept very clean throughout the hotel as well. The rooms are quite large, the bathrooms are as well and come with a coffee and drink prep area off the bathroom, the rooms are very well laid out and comfortable. We stopped into the hotel restaurant, ordered two Caesar salads, one with chicken. The salads to quite a while to be prepared and delivered, our drinks ran out completely as well as were replenished very late in the meal. The room was very comfortable and the hotel exceptionally quiet at night, very easy to sleep well and relax, enjoy breakfast in the dining room, they have excellent selection of buffet style or the kitchen can prepare anything upon request. Hilton never lets us down...

Yelp
Unless you are into shabby chic this is not a place for you. Super excited we got upgraded but then disappointed when the room was circa 1980s with furniture broken down, stained, etc. with nothing updated except for flat panel TV which was out of place. Even worse is that it had old smell. They didn't have any business rooms available because the cleaning crew went home of the day so they gave us a room partially updated (eg. bathroom) and offered us another room the next day when they had a chance to clean one. However no follow-up in the morning so we decided to go to a Hilton Garden Inn which is better updated, better service and 40% less. When I checked out the front desk manager was more focused on whether or not I got breakfast than why I was checking out 3 days early. Hilton get it together... as a Diamond Member and Hilton Grand Vacations owner we hope for better but not the Hilton Washing Dulles Airport... dated, operational issues (come on clean the rooms), and mediocre service.

Yelp
My fiancé and I stayed here with a large group of people for a weekend retreat. The retreat organizers booked all of the rooms for us, along with the conference rooms, and coordinated our meals. The lobby and conference rooms are beautiful at this hotel! The staff that assisted us were very nice and accommodating. Although this hotel is so close to home for me (20 minutes away), I would definitely consider staying here on my own again in the future since it felt so cozy and a nice home away from home.

Yelp
The pictures completely misrepresent the rooms. Rooms feel dirty and are outdated. Our shower head didn't work at all. Staff was rude. Only 1 elevator working. Half of the plugs in the room weren't functioning. Fitness center is nice but indoor pool leaves a lot to be desired. This is by far the worst Hilton we've ever stayed at and we are Diamond Hilton members so we've been to a lot. Do not recommend!

Yelp
I unexpectedly spent a night at the Hilton Washington Dulles Airport. As the name indicates, the hotel is close to the airport and offers a complimentary shuttle there. This was your typical solid Hilton stay. A clean and comfortable room, quiet, and classy. There was even a Muslim wedding going on when I arrived late on a Saturday night which was pretty cool to witness. An added bonus for this Hilton is that they have a bar that is open late that serves decent food. Since I got in so late, this was clutch!

Yelp
I needed a place to spend a night and this hotel did not disappoint. The staff was great. They forgot to give me water but I received it with no issues. The lobby was very clean and welcoming. I ordered room service. I had a pasta dish that was pretty good. The rolls were soft. The butter cake tastes like something made by an elder relative. It was the best. My room was spotless. The bed was like sleeping on feathers. I will be back.

Yelp
Our family stayed here for our vacation from 10/24/2019-10/27/2019 it was easy check-in we had two rooms with double beds which worked out ok for our party clean hotel but parking can be a bit challenging if you're out an come in late, beds were ok and served its purpose but the most annoying part was the loud AC unit that kept making noise and it became bothersome at night when it was less noise. The temperature controls are a bit "different" (temperature control on one side of the room, fan intensity control in the other end of the room) Front desk was nice they provided us with extra bottles of water for the rooms beds are a bit antiquated remodeled bathrooms, we were out most of the time sightseeing so the room served its purpose when it needed to I doubt if I will stay here again, it's not the most convenient location but overall experience was OK nothing to write home about.

Yelp
Booked this hotel months in advanced prior to my stay for a wedding. There was no AC in the ball room for the event, they grouped all the bridal guests into the rooms with NO AC or WATER. Then the water turns on and spits out black junk. They didn't inform me prior to my check-in. They didn't even say anything about the water being off DURING check in. There were 2 events for the wedding here and more than 10 rooms booked. Definitely unacceptable! Definitely the worst Hilton experience I've ever had.

Yelp
Prepare to walk quite far if you're parking, especially with luggage. No reserved Diamond or veteran parking near the entrance. Dim lighting and poor signage make navigation to the rooms difficult, amongst the dirty dishes, furniture, and luggage carts in the corridors...which remain overnight. Room smells like old smoke and mildew but include amenities such as a very slippery tub and cracked iron. Surprised this location has the Hilton name associated at any level. Would only stay here if it were included free by an airline as an alternative to sleeping in the airport.

Yelp
Dingy and sooo old. In a warehouse industrial area. From check-in on the lobby is worn. The lobby areas smell. The front entry has many cigarette butts. The pool is closed in the middle of May. The outdoor seating has no cushions. Lots of noise from the highway. The room itself is pretty good, beds are soft. Needs much updating but then again they're in the middle of nowhere.

Yelp
I stayed at this hotel because of a conference that took place in its location. I stayed for one night in July 2023. Pros: Spacious and clean standard room. Good lunch buffet. Comfortable bed. Cons: frayed/stained carpet, damaged/old lamp shades, low average to poor seated dinner. In addition, staff at the front desk at check in are in need customer service training. The hotel needs refurbishing overall.

Yelp
I stayed here for 3 nights in January for a business trip and I can't say I'd stay here again. Upon arriving, I went to check in at the front desk. and had to wait a few minutes before anyone acknowledged me, as the employees were too busy laughing and talking to each other. The hotel has a parking lot and a parking garage, I had to inquire about the parking at the front desk since no one mentioned it. The parking lot is big but quite a distance away from the hotel, so be prepared to make the long trek every time you park. None of the spots closer to the hotel were ever available during my stay. The hotel is definitely old, I couldn't tell from the pictures online but it's super old. Please see my picture of the thermostat.. I mean what even is that thing?! My room was decently clean, but there were a few issues- The spout in the bathtub was literally falling off the wall and the curtains on the windows were barely holding on. The carpets and walls are in desperate need of a refresh. I did not eat here, so I can't comment on that. They also have an airport shuttle which I didn't use, but I'm sure is useful to some. The morning of check out I had to go down to the front desk and dispute a room service charge that was put on my bill since I never ordered room service. The gentleman was friendly enough and comped the charge, but frustrating that it happened in the first place.

Yelp
Good food but service needs improvement and a more experienced waiting staff is certainly in need.
